Still maintaining steadily here - which is actually a surprise since I’ve just been away for work and felt like I ate all the food, it was one of those weeks where it was mostly takeout food as a group at work rather than me being able to choose my own diet. And almost no time for exercise. Or sleep TBH and poor sleep is such a trigger for me over eating.

So good to see that the scales didn’t go up. Even if they had, I feel significantly more confident that it’s easy to shift the weight off again.

A bit of a rant incoming , apologies in advance but need to vent

done 4 weeks on 15mg and lost 5lb , amazing it’s working again and finally feel I can get to goal 1-1.5st away

you might remember but the reason I stopped first time was due sudden loss of FIL , being abroad last minute flight tickets and expencws etc . This was midst saving our deposit for buying house

fast forward I’m on the same position again , we have had deposit saved and been waiting for a new development which is being released any day .

my DH is T2 diabetic and got really bad diabetic retinopathy (eye condition which can make you blind) to the point he has been waiting for urgent surgery (2 month waiting time) for 1 year , he even had a pre op in November . Long story short he got symptoms in his second eye 2 weeks ago which more or less makes him almost blind and NHS couldn’t make it fast forward (despite him signed off due to vision loss) so we as a family decided he goes to his originating country and does it there . Great timing he left 2 days after kids finished school for summer !!!!!
he is finally having surgery day after tomorrow and may be home 2-3 weeks for now . But he is self employed meaning no income while he is off plus flights , surgery etc it’s a lot of expense

after a week at home without DH and adjusting work (including splitting my leave to work part time next few weeks, TG work is understanding) I’m adjusting (im 90% work from home so that helps)

im touching the saving founds to fund next pen , not that the house plan is in jeopardy but OMG it’s expensive keeping kids entertained without a holiday on schedule (managed to cancel as we were going Dubai) and their dad being away! i really hope not ,but there may be a need to a pause for a few weeks which is super annoying when I’m on 15mg , I don’t want ruin the momentum !

May be I’m selfish or may be I’m overthinking but I just can’t I’m here again from what I feel was the exact reason I stopped first time and don’t want to get in that space again!!! I don’t regret sending him to save his vision but just feel deflated , I’m telling myself it’s ok and everything will be ok.

@Bipaloss that sounds really hard, sorry you are in this position but it will get better. Hugs 🤗

GiveMeWordGames · 05/08/2026 09:37

Ah, sorry @Bipaloss that all sounds really tough.

I tend to try and be pragmatic in these situations rather than thinking in terms of ideas of selfishness etc. Take the emotion out of it and look at the nett cost of stopping the first time. I'm guessing it's higher than if you'd stayed on it. So, long term, if you pause again, you will almost certainly end up increasing the total amount of mounjaro you need to buy to get you to your original goal. Which, to me anyway, makes staying on the financially sensible thing to do in comparison with stopping and restarting.

Obviously if you're thinking of just stopping completely that's different but then you have to look at what you've already spent and why possibly waste that, in effect, to stop early.

TheBossOfMe · 06/08/2026 12:04

@Bipaloss That sounds like a really difficult situation, I’m so sorry. I think you’re perfectly justified in the situation to find your next pen from savings, don’t feel guilty about it.

@northernlight20 @GiveMeWordGames @TheBossOfMe appreciate the kindness and words

ive settled with it , hubby is done with the surgery and will be back in the next two weeks, atleast before school starts and before DS1 starts secondary which I’m glad for (also selfishly glad I have income coming in from his side 😅) we are blessed we can survive on one income but not the same lifestyle , this is what I remind myself , live a bit frugile for a few weeks and it will be ok , again not great timing but it’s ok ! There is light in the tunnel . Good weather this summer also helps keeping my two DS occupied etc

im so dizzy on 15mg anyone else who has been , I was on 5mg too first time but this is on another level still not figured if it’s water sugar etc plus hubby took the stuff so can’t check bp sugar level etc
yesterday I had to present (on Teams TG) to a audience of 50+ not only that it was with my boss and his boss 😳 middle of me speaking I just see the earth moving and happened again twice today , no SE just this and it’s annoying so any experience and resolution would be great

TheBossOfMe · 09/08/2026 16:52

@Bipaloss I’ve had balance/slight dizziness issues all the time I’ve been on MJ. I didn’t realise that was the cause until I had a break - it was only when it came back as soon as I restarted that I made the connection. I spoke to my provider about it, who asked me to get a BP test and share results. Once they had established that my BP was fine, on the lower side but still in normal range, they were fine to keep prescribing and said it’s a fairly common SE. Interestingly my SEs are worse the second time on MJ than the first. I’ve found it’s worse when I’m dehydrated.

Very glad you’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Much love - you’ve not had an easy time at all recently. Make sure you take care of you.

Hey everyone
Found an old pair of jeans and compared to my latest pair......

Excellent comparison! Well done. The smaller pair is almost literally half!

Really glad you've found a way through @Bipaloss without sacrificing your MJ journey again.

I have a question. My 14yo daughter is really struggling with her weight. She doesn’t get full. We have all suffered this our entire lives.
should i even consider it?
