Also happy to be plodding as long as I'm still plodding downwards haha!

Massive kudos to rectuitretain (and a touch of jealousy) that's a fantastic loss - you started the same day as me but you've lost twice as much!

Also a ✋ high five to Hotfirewood on your "normal" - that must feel sooo good!

I'm testing myself a bit this weekend as DH and I are away again but this time we're all-inclusive. Can I stay on top of portion control and also not drink my own bodyweight in rum? 🤔 I guess the scales will tell me on Tuesday!

Onbdy · 20/03/2026 15:35

Another 2 pounds off for me this week, 26.5 in total, hoping to have lost 2 stones by next week. Second 5mg jab this morning. I’ve reordered the same again as I don’t feel I need to go up just yet. I’m getting good suppression and I’m losing around 2 pounds a week.

GreenLemonade · 20/03/2026 16:42

I'm still losing at a decent rate, 11kg / 24lb since 10 January, but I'm increasingly struggling to stick to my calories deficit 😞 Food noise is definitely back. I find myself wandering around a supermarket, looking at all the delicious food that I'm not allowed to eat. I fantasise about cheese, chips and pastries.

I've created an eating plan for myself that gives me around 1100 calories and 90 grams of protein per day. It's based around chicken, skyr/ yoghurt and protein powder. I'm bored and fed up with it but I feel stuck. Whenever I try to make any changes to it, I either don't hit my protein target or exceed calorie limit. The problem is, I'm not sure how much longer I can keep going with it, I'm getting really sick of it.

I'm on my second month of 5mg but I ordered 7.5mg for next month. I hope this will help keep me on track. I'm not really worried about side effects, I haven't had any so far and if I suddenly get any I can always count clicks to lower the dose.

Sorry for being negative.

1100 seems low, could you up it in order to add some more interesting food?
Im on 1200 cals, eat 2 meals per day. Lunch is fage yogurt with protein powder, chia seeds, frozen berries and fresh berries/fruit. Dinner is a smaller version of whatever the family is having sometimes adapted for carbs, generally with a serving of a simple slaw. Grated red cabbage, red onion, carrot, edamame, chilli etc. I keep a tub of this in the fridge to last me the week.

I’ve been printing off recipes that generally fit in with my calorie & protein target to try to help me keep on top of things and have some variety. I’ve been eating lots of fish & beans (sometimes together! 😆), the beans/chickpeas/lentils especially are good for keeping calories low with a bonus of extra fibre (slow digestion has been one of my bearable side-effects!). When I started I was aiming for similar to you (~1200 cals & 80-100g protein), and I’m probably still mostly eating the same now (no longer obsessively tracking, but still mostly eating the same rotation of recipes). I can try to put some links here tomorrow if it would help?

DizziLizzy · 20/03/2026 20:08

10 x 2L bottles of water!

GreenLemonade · 20/03/2026 20:45

@CatNoBag yes, please, that would be great, thank you! I'm a lousy cook with no creativity but i can follow a recipe 😅

glutenisthedevil · 21/03/2026 09:00

I've been away this week so just catching up with the thread. It's lovely to read everyone's updates.

Despite going away I did try to stay on track and choose healthier options where possible. Hopped on the scales this morning and have lost 3lbs, coming off the back of a sts last week, so I'm really happy. I feel like I flew through one stone bracket but this one has taken longer. I'm 5lb off going down into the next one so hopefully I'll do it within the next few weeks, fingers crossed. I'm 29lb lighter than when I started, though, so I can't complain about that!

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Actually I have another side-effect query, been meaning to ask for a while.

Has anyone, especially if you are peri/post menopausal, found that your body temp is more regulated since starting MJ?

I used to sweat, a lot. If I ate, I started sweating. If I had an alcoholic drink, same. Brisk walking? Soaked to my underwear. Even just climbing stairs. If going anywhere warm (18°+) I have carried a hand fan for years.

Right now, that's not happening. At all.

Yes im running on the colder side now. Not freezing but noticed that I would usually feel much warmer. But could be the change in diet too.

HollywoodTease · 21/03/2026 12:31

Yes, I now have cold hands and feet too which is a new thing.....

I was like this, but it stopped as soon as I started HRT!

Not sure if this will work, I'll work out another way if not (maybe a Google Sheet/Doc with recipes?!). Some of the ones I have are from websites that are paid for, but I save them to an app/web page (Copy Me That) and use that on my phone, or print off for my husband to follow! For Copy Me That I think you have to create an account to see the links, but if you don't mind doing that then hopefully they're easy to see. Here's some I have on rotation:

I tend to have lots of vegetables (especially edamame) instead of rice, potatoes etc. Maybe have a small amount of brown rice if I'm making some for my husband anyway and then extra vegetables for me

Thai red salmon and coconut curry

A quick and simple midweek meal, ready in less than 20 minutes. Packed with protein, flavour, textures and colour. Pan-fried salmon in a creamy, Thai red coconut sauce. Serve with basmati rice, Thai basil and naan bread.Total time to make : 20 minutes...

I think I'm getting it less than I was, but it had calmed down a bit with HRT anyway. I haven't tried drinking since I started, but that was a trigger before. Anything more than a small glass of wine I'd be awake all night!

FrothyCothy · 21/03/2026 20:16

I was cold all the time when I first started but seems to have evened out a bit now.

I had two consecutive days below 102kg for the first time but bounced back up after a day of indulgence yesterday. Gave myself a talking to this morning and have stuck below cals for the day plus lots of steps. Got a bit complacent in last couple of weeks I think so need to cop on a bit!

Perimenoanti · 21/03/2026 21:30

Good to know im not the only one. I fell off the wagon a bit yesterday by not eating much until the afternoon but then ordered pizza and a side and ate chocolate after like i was totally out of my mind. This has greatly increased my appetite today and I ate around maintenance today. I want to eat all the time. Can't wait for this day to be over and start again tomorrow.

I have this weird thing going on where my appetite is highest about 2-3 days after injecting. I noticed this a few times now. I also keep making the mistake of not having a real lunch because I think I can do it, but then it all totally derails later in the day.

cravingmilkshake · 22/03/2026 06:00

Hi everyone,

hope you’re all enjoying the lovely sunshine and your weekends are going well. I’ve increased my activity and the sunshine is helping with lots of walks and have been doing weights at the gym .

SW 123kg
CW 107.6kg
TW - anything

which brings me to 15.4kg loss since January. I had a few proseccos yesterday so I’m sure I’ll pay for that in the coming days .

ive been moving up the doses each 4 weeks , however I’ve decided on a 2nd month of 7.5mg as it seems to be working a treat .

Has anyone moved up to 10mg yet? X

Yes, me too, especially the hands and feet. Can’t complain though, it’s better than being too hot.

AddUpToNothing · 22/03/2026 12:51

Happy Sunday everyone!

I’ve been absent for a while due to life and work getting in the way as it does. So have just been catching up and it’s great to read how you are all doing.

12th jab last night for me. I can’t believe how fast that time has passed.

I am officially 2 stone down 🥳 I would never have thought that possible on January 1st.

SW: 16st 1
CW: 14st 1

Am noticing a slight change in my clothes now. I definitely need some new work trousers.

Talking of body temp. I think I’m definitely running colder than usual. I invested in an electric blanket for the bed and it’s my best friend. I would normally hate being hot in bed but I love warming up my cold feet now 😂.

With the pen change being introduced from next month, I have ordered a 7.5 for my next pen and intend on click counting (5mg is still working well for me at the moment) and making use of the golden dose. I will then order a 10mg in a few weeks with the same intention and hopefully manage to receive a few more pens with the extra dose to save some money where I can.

notcomfortable · 22/03/2026 15:58

I just took 7.5
Scared as he'll 😂
But I am still stalling, hitting my protein daily and managing 18k steps. Managing to go toilet at least once a day, today has been twice! So I have no idea what is going on but I'm really fed up

Ralphiesaurus · 22/03/2026 18:17

So I had weird scales again this morning. Looked like I had finally broken my plateau. Went to the loo (sorry if TMI) and weighed again... and had apparently GAINED 2kg!?!? We do have a crooked old house so I know the floor is uneven but still. Next pen is 5mg again and I am wishing I'd gone up to 7.5...

But then I've had three people recently remark on how much weight I have lost... one this morning was urging me not to lose any more. Why do people do that??!!

CatNoBag · 22/03/2026 19:02

I got on the scales this morning and was 12 stone 13.4. First time I've seen a 12 something since 2020! I was aiming for 12.12 by the end of month, which feels pretty achievable now🙌

Half a pound away from 20lbs down, and I feel it. Makes such a difference not to be lugging that extra weight around.

Springflowers3 · 22/03/2026 22:19

Hi, I’ve been absent for a while due to being on holiday and then full on at work. Have been catching up on everyone and good to read so many positive updates though a few are similar to mine.

I put 2lb on during my holiday which I lost again the week I came back. Last week was my second on 5mg and was by far the best suppression I’ve had but I haven’t lost any more. I’ve basically lost one stone and have been hovering around there for the last month or longer, except the holiday 2lb gain.

Trying not to be too disheartened - although the scales have hardly shifted I am definitely looking thinner suddenly, have gone down a dress size and clothes are hanging better; people have commented I have lost weight.

Don’t understand why the scales say the same but I look different. Happy to carry on with the 5mg for the next pen and plan to fully embrace the suppression I hope to get this week. I felt last week that I was finally getting the full MJ effect that others have had so maybe I just need to be patient and not stress about it.

Still really enjoying the healthy eating and even today and due to have be next injection, my appetite was really reduced. I love that.

Hope everyone has a good, healthy week.

Springflowers3 · 22/03/2026 22:22

@Ralphiesaurus we seem to be going through a similar plateau. Helps to know it’s not just me. Hopefully we’ll get a nice surprise on the scales this week. It is a bit gutting not to see a loss when you’re really expecting to.

whiteandblackfluffycat · 23/03/2026 08:11

I’ve heard a few people say they haven’t lost much with 5mg - with many losing more on 2.5 and then again if they move up to 7.5 but for some it seems to stall on 5! Mine has definitely slowed, when I was losing significantly on 2.5 (and it definitely wasn’t just the placebo effect on 2.5 as I’ve seen someone argue on another thread! 🙄)

SW: 14 st 5
CW: 11 st 9

It’s holiday time! I’m planning on eating all the things - I won’t have breakfast and will stick to salads for lunch but will be having the amazing snacks and two course restaurant meals each day.

Another spanner in the works for me is that a GP wants me to have a test for coeliac disease, as part of investigations into my low ferritin levels. I don’t have any other symptoms but they want to rule it out. It could be possible as I feel so much better for cutting out bread etc. However Google says that the test requires you to eat lots of bread, pasta, cakes, biscuits etc at least twice a day, for six weeks beforehand! My test is in three weeks and I’ve only been having occasional pasta and none of the other things, so I guess I’ve got permission to really go for it on holiday! 😂
