Only down .2kg today. Ill take it though as I don't deserve to be down anything after the week ive had. Lots of eating crap and drinking too much. Ill get back on the wagon now and behave myself again now.
SW: 81.5kg
CW: 70.4kg
TW: 60kg (maybe, we'll see)

MrTiddlesTheCat · 18/03/2026 12:43

I've lost 2.2 kg this week according to the healthcentre scales. Home ones say I've put on half a kilo, so they can permanently bugger off.
SW: 135 kg
MJSW: 128.7 kg
CW: 117.9 kg
Total loss: 17.1 kg
I do believe though that my real MJ starting weight was much higher. I got down to 127 kg last year through diet alone. Then I started binge eating when I got my cancer diagnosis, but according to my home scales I only gained 2 kg. My body said otherwise. My knees and back were more painful than ever, worse than when I was 135 kg. And I couldn't understand why.
Now I know that if I stick to my diet I lose around 2 kg a week. 10 weeks on MJ would mean my starting weight was actually around 138 kg. Possibly more seeing as I was eating a lot less than I am now for the first 6 weeks.

I've had laser eye surgery this week so I've been extremely inactive - lots of lying down in a dark room. So I've lost less than a lb, but not surprising. I didn't restrict my food too much as I figured I needed nutrients to recover.

I've moved on to a 5mg pen but only took a 2.5mg dose - I'll go for the full 5mg next week I think. I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks and would like to lose a bit more by then. I tried on some old dresses and was pleasantly surprised at how much better they fit me. The style is quite boho so I don't need to get a smaller size, but they just hang so much better now my waist is smaller.

FrostyFlo · 18/03/2026 17:34

Been away for a few days and done quite a bit of walking , and not much eating as there was very little to tempt me . Dh had fish and chips last night sat by the beach and I had about 3 of those takeaway forks of the fish only ( no better ) and about 4/5 chips .
Once back to the hotel started to feel very ill and vomited for the first time in this journey . Had them at around 5.30 on so not late , but it will be a lesson not to try again .

cautiouslyoptimistic3 · 18/03/2026 21:56

Jab 8 done. I’m still plodding along at the same rate of loss about 0.5 kg. I’ve stretched out to about 8 days in between for the last 2 weeks partly due to some side effects and some events. But omg the reflux is so annoying and the Pepto Bismol isn’t doing much. I’m eating plenty of chia seeds to make sure I stay regular as I have heard that that can cause reflux. I am seriously thinking about reducing the dose slightly next week through clicks. Nice to hear how everybody is doing. @MrTiddlesTheCat that sounds like great progress. I know you were feeling quite down about it last week when the scales were playing up. Sounds like the health centre ones are reliable. Well done on great progress.

Etherealcelestialbeing · 19/03/2026 06:28

Is anyone else feeling like they are just consuming less in general?
I’m obviously eating less (and better food) but I also have no desire for alcohol so I’m not drinking. Less tolerance of caffeine so fewer cups of tea.
I'm also not buying any clothes. I realise I got into a bit of a habit of buying something each payday (mostly cheap supermarket clothes). We are also not eating out as a family so less money spent there.

I do seem to have a new ache or pain each week though 😆 This week it’s my left hip!

Perianth · 19/03/2026 07:28

Finally hit the 2 stone mark this morning! Delighted. No-one has noticed yet though 🙄

@Etherealcelestialbeing yes, I feel it’s had an effect on my consumption across the board. Less alcohol, caffeine, cake, chocolate, and treats of other kinds too. It’s paying for itself! I also feel calmer and less stressed, and more energetic. I feel better in myself, body and mind, than I have in years. I think new forms of these drugs will revolutionise addiction treatment in the near future.

I’m interested to know what everyone’s go-to exercise is, and why? I know we have tennis players and runners, and someone mentioned walking upthread, which is what I love to do, but what inspires you? I’ve never really found anything that I like, partly I guess due to feeling self-conscious because of my size, but now I feel I want to find my thing.

I have been a pretty heavy drinker historically, but I find that, while i still like a few drinks sometimes, its only really at social events now and as soon as I switch to water, i don't really want any more alcohol.
I dont really buy clothes as a hobby, more out of necessity. Ive bought a few new bits, more because I was excited to be fitting into size 10/s than needing them yet.
I definitely havent been consuming or even particularly thinking about consuming cakes, chocolate etc, though have allowed myself a taste of these things if they are in front of me and appealing.
Its funny you should say about aches amd pains. I was listening to something on the radio recently saying that wli seem to be beneficial to our joints, not just because of the lighter load they have to bare, but something to do with how it attaches to the cells themselves.

I do a half hour weights based circuits training 3-4 mornings a week, one pilates class and one or two 7-10km runs. I also dip in the sea and cycle most places i go, but thats more to bring me joy than actual exercise.

whiteandblackfluffycat · 19/03/2026 09:02

I said upthread about what I do; a mix of workouts each day, including weights, as well as walking. I’ve been exercising for years and over the years have experimented and found what I like and dislike and what works for me and doesn’t (more strenuous exercise doesn’t actually give me any better results!).

I’ve ordered what might be my last jab, they actually recommended sticking to 5 based on my weight loss (2 st 9lb since 1st Jan), which is what I was going to do anyway - I might actually half dose to get more doses from it as I was having great results from 2.5 anyway.

HollywoodTease · 19/03/2026 09:11

I love to walk if I have time. I also do a short strength workout with a kettlebell once or twice a week.

Now the weather is getting better I'm hoping to start cycling to work again soon.

I'm also working up the courage to get back to proper weight training, I used to be strong until menopause hit me and the weight piled on.

2026istheyear2 · 19/03/2026 09:26

@Perianth I have a Peleton at home which I use for classes a couple
of times a week and also just to ride along whilst watching Netflix sometimes! I go to a Pilates mat class and a Pilates reformer class once a week. Have a weights session with a PT once a week and also go to one or 2 exercise classes using lighter weights. My favourite thing is swimming outside so hopefully will be able to start that soon. Am really loving all the exercise which just makes me feel so much better. I have a spaniel but he is nearly 15 so our walks are now more of a gentle potter….

That's amazing @whiteandblackfluffycat you must be delighted!
Id say ill stick with 0.5mgs too. Just started my second pen of it last night so I have a while to decide but am happy out on it.

whiteandblackfluffycat · 19/03/2026 13:59

@bec81 thank you, I am; I still have a couple of stone to go but hopefully the new pen and what I have left in my current one will cover it.

Hettar · 19/03/2026 15:14

End of week 10 on 2.5mg update.

SW: 17 st 8lbs
CW: 15 st 4lbs
GW: 12 st

Another 2 lbs loss this week.

Started my new 2.5mg pen today as I'm still getting good suppression.

Quite a few friends have noticed the weight loss which is always nice. No one at work has said anything but I'm happy with that as they also don't say anything when my weight balloons.

I'm fitting some of my smaller clothes now which is great. I'm sore like a lot of people on this thread I have a range of clothes depending on what my weight is.

notcomfortable · 19/03/2026 18:49

Good to see everyone getting on okay
I am still on a stall which is so frustrating

2026istheyear2 · 20/03/2026 08:39

2.4 lbs off this week - tantalisingly close to being in the 13s. Staying on 3.75 as still have good suppression.

SW: 16st 9
CW: 14st 0.6
GW: 11st 12

Ralphiesaurus · 20/03/2026 09:07

So I felt all slim this morning so braved the scales ... after a lengthy plateau/weeks of very slow losses. And I am exactly the same weight again. Aargh. I know it's working because my clothes are looser and I am.much clearer about when I am done eating - i no longer mindlessly finish a plate of food because it's there, or snack between meals. But blimey! Disappointed.

I ordered my next pen this week too and stuck to 5mg because the side effects are manageable but now I wonder if I should have gone up to 7.5... oh well. I've read in a few places that plateaus on MJ are quite common and just to push through, so...

LIFE CHANGING STARTED JAN 20th

January 2026 Starters - I’ve lost a Kitchenaid
CatNoBag · 20/03/2026 11:53

I've been quiet here for a little while - away visiting family for a long weekend, my first time sticking my head above the parapet of my safe home bubble where I can control most things!

Surprisingly, I survived and despite a couple of meals out and cutting back on exercise it even seemed to get me out of a bit of a plateau as I dropped ~3-4lbs in 5 days after a couple of weeks stuck around 13.4lbs. This morning I hit bang on 13st (I did see a 12 flash up for a second, but it settled on 13.0!), so I'm feeling really positive about hitting my mini target of 12.12 by the end of March with a starting weight of 14.5. I'm a pound away from 20lbs loss since 12th January, which isn't as much as some one here, but I'm delighted with the slow and steady.

I was terrified when I started of being sick, losing my hair, not having any energy etc, but I'm very lucky that I've had very little side effects apart from the burps! Normally when dieting I start looking ahead at when I'll be able to achieve a certain weight, and then it all starts unravelling, but this time round it's actually working. I'm 10 jabs in, still counting clicks for 3.33mg. I am noticing some food thoughts maybe coming up again, but nothing I can't push aside and I'm still sticking to the no alcohol, no sugar, no UPS, hoping that I'm going some way to training my mind how to eat in moderation when I finally come off the WLI. The scales are still going in the right direction so I'm thinking I'll stick to as low a dose as I can get away with until end of April, then reassess.

CatNoBag · 20/03/2026 11:55

I'm also feeling so much lighter, my husband keeps telling me I look great (to be fair, he does this whatever my weight, but now it's every time he walks into the room), my clothes finally fit and I'm even considering digging out my smaller (though still big) knickers 😂

Perianth · 20/03/2026 12:57

@CatNoBag you mentioning big knickers made me laugh/groan. Unlike some others on here, I have never hung onto smaller clothes in the hope I will one day fit back into them. I tend to throw stuff out and try to forget I was ever any thinner/lighter. In November, I bought loads of new knickers and bras, ones that I didn’t have to squeeze into, ones that fit me, nice ones. The bras are now sad, empty looking pockets and a pair of knickers actually fell down inside my trousers as I was dashing up the hill the other day! I guess I’ll be shopping for new undies again pretty soon.

Hotfirewood · 20/03/2026 13:08

Woohoo the scales are moving again!! After a 2 week stall.

SW: 81kg
CW: 71.2kg (11st 3lbs)
GW: 63kg

BMI is 24.7 today. I know it’s a rubbish measure generally but nice to be “normal” for a change 😂

Excited to be in the 10 stone category soon!! 10st 13lbs is 69.4kg apparently.

2026istheyear2 · 20/03/2026 13:19

Congrats on “normal” @Hotfirewood!

Octagoneaway · 20/03/2026 13:33

Just a quick reminder to also do your measurements.

I’ve lost far less than some people here (8kg since 1/1), but I measured myself on 22/1 and again today. I’ve lost half an inch off my bust, an inch and a half off my waist and 2 inches off my hips. Feeling really pleased as this hasn’t been quick or easy, but it’s progress.

I’ve just ordered a 3rd 5mg pen and was regretting it, as maybe I need to go up, but this makes me want to just keep plodding along.
