Loss 21lbs!!!

I am mid way through week 2 on my second pen and stuck with 2.5 - although am tempted to go up as my suppression is nowhere near the same as it was

I am being tempted and my willpower is waining

Check in day. Dose #3 of 5mg.

SW. 99.9kg
CW. 92.7kg
1st GW. 90kg
Loss. 7.2kg

So that's 15.8lbs in 6 weeks, and my first stone off 😊

Happy with that.

5mg seems to be my sweet spot at the moment, I have no interest in food but also no side effects (so far!) so I've ordered a 2nd pen at 5 rather than go up to 7.5 just yet.

Big test at the end of the month when DH and I have an all-inclusive weekend away to celebrate our anniversary. I'm hoping I may have reached my first goal by then 🤞

I have an MRI of my liver and blood tests every 4 months. Had my first one since starting Mounjaro yesterday and my surgeon nearly cried the change was so much! My liver function tests have markedly improved and my cholesterol is now normal. What a miracle drug this is.

FrostyFlo · 03/03/2026 19:01

In on my 8th weight jab and on .5mg was on .25mg the 1st pen.
A few times in the past few days I've not made it to the loo in time ( sudden & explosive . Sorry tmi ! )
So on Sunday took some Imodium and rehydration sachets and just ate a boiled egg all day . Obviously plenty of fluid .
Yesterday was a 2 egg scrambled eggs a small jacket potato and some cottage cheese , later a low cal protein yoghurt .
Today was 1/2 Banana with Greek yoghurt for breakfast ,lunch a med jacket potato , 3 slice s quorn ham , cottage cheese and just had a protein yoghurt . I'm also taking a yakult for gut biome and plenty of water and mint tea .

My pen supplier suggested a bland diet and tbh I don't think it could get any blander .
I'm missing my vegetables or salad !
Do you think I can start introducing them tomorrow ? I've not really gone to the loo now in 2 days .

Should have added I already have a 1 mg pen for starting Friday but have contacted them about ordering another .50mg to stay on for another month .

Amazing news @2026istheyear2! You must be delighted. I know the focus is so often on weight loss, but the health improvements are life-changing.

Did the surgeon have anything to say regarding MJ? Seems to be such different opinions among medical professionals so am just curious!

She was the one who suggested that I went on it and thinks it’s a great thing. She wasn’t at all concerned about the pancreatitis risk even though I have had major liver and pancreatic surgery. Benefits majorly outweighing the risks. A friend who is a consultant said the other week that he thinks it’s life changing for his patients as well and was excited about the third generation versions in the pipeline.

FrothyCothy · 03/03/2026 20:08

That’s fab, must be great to have supportive medical professionals on your side.

FrothyCothy · 03/03/2026 22:08

Have braved the jump to 0.5 tonight - I’m working from home the rest of this week so can manage side effects better if necessary.

Week 9
SW 111kg
CW 103.9kg (not seen that since Dec 2024)

Next target is to get under 100kg, and I’ve not been there since October 2021!

ThisAmusedPoet · 04/03/2026 06:25

Jab day check in! Had a mini “whoosh” this week going to attempt to extract golden dose tonight.

I've collated my numbers to make it a bit easier!

SW 1/1/26 - 93.3kg
Month one (2.5mg) 86.5kg -6.8kg
Month two (5mg) 82.5kg -4kg
MJ9 (5mg) 4/3/26 - 81.4kg -1.1kg
GW - 68kg
Total loss: -11.9kg

Feeling very good still - no side effects and tonnes of energy. Kind of amazed! Will stick to 5mg while still losing a kg/week.

notcomfortable · 04/03/2026 06:52

Haven't lost any weight this week but also Haven't gained so that's a plus
On to my golden dose of 5mg today

totallyfrusted · 04/03/2026 08:08

Weigh in day today and a 1.4kg loss which is good.

nearly 2 stone in 7 weeks so really happy with this. I still have another 3 stone to go which feels daunting as I know it will slow down but I’ve lost 10% of my body weight which I remember as being a goal back in the weight watchers days

SW 100kg
CW 88.6kg

next target 85kg

I’m about to take my last dose of 5mg of MJ and am going to stick with this for the next month and see how it goes.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 04/03/2026 08:34

2.8 kg gain for me this week. I'm not worried about it as I know I've done everything right. It's just my scales defaulting to random number generation again.

SW: 135 kg
MJ SW: 128.7 kg
CW: 116.1 kg
Total loss: 18.9 kg (2.9 stone)

Kittkats · 04/03/2026 08:52

Perimenoanti · 28/02/2026 13:24

Yeah i read something like that before but i don't understand how this speeds up weight loss beyond the calories in/out rule. Anyone able to explain in simple terms?

This might help. It’s known to reduce inflammation, so i assume this is why.
Ive eaten the same diet for 2 months pre MJ and lost and regained 2lb repeatedly. With MJ I lost 2.5 stone in the same time period on the same diet. The only change was drinking more water (water is also needed for metabolism, and I only drank coffee, Pepsi and wine pre MJ so was likely chronically dehydrated which also wouldn’t help!)

I haven't got any advice Frosty as I haven't had any problems in that regard (more in the opposite direction, but that isn't too unusual for me anyway!), but sending sympathy. It sounds like you're still getting some fibre from the potato and banana, so might be worth testing some other foods again (hopefully within reach of the bathroom is needed!)

bec81 · 04/03/2026 09:28

Weigh-in day today. A moderate 0.5kg loss this morning, bringing me to a total loss of 9.6kg since 7th January. Happy enough with the plodding along. Jab #9 tonight, last on this first 0.5mg, I have another 0.5mg waiting to go in the fridge

Perianth · 04/03/2026 09:44

Drive-by posting quickly this morning to say that thanks to a ridiculous 1.2lb whoosh overnight. I am now finally 14 stone something! I’ll probably be back over the line again tomorrow but yay to another milestone on this journey. Off out for a long walk in the sunshine to celebrate!

Hotfirewood · 04/03/2026 10:38

I’m still not losing weight, but I have got collarbones showing all of a sudden!! 👏 Trying not to think about the scales as I feel slimmer, my face looks better and random colleagues have also mentioned me losing weight.

I’m doing a dumbbell strength class and mat Pilates session every day so I’ll also assume it’s new muscle weighing more than old fat 😂

9.5 weeks on MJ and I feel good. I don’t think I should increase to 7.5mg yet. I don’t have any appetite, so it’s already a chore to remember to eat!

5’7”
SW: 81kg
CW: 73kg
GW: 63kg

What do you mean your not losing? You're 8kg down from your starting weight and almost half way to your goal - thats brilliant!

whiteandblackfluffycat · 04/03/2026 11:10

Well done on the weight loss/ signs of having lost weight everyone!

I’m feeling so much more confident; I’m looking forward to warmer weather and summery clothes and no longer dreading having to remove the layers!

I’ve been buying a few bits for my holiday and I’m now comfortably fitting into size 12 dresses (a-line style to skim over my hips!), as well as tops. I’ve never been able to fit into size 10 dresses or bottoms even at 8st 10 (at 5’6”) as I have wide hipbones, so although I have a couple of stone to go on my lower half my dress size won’t change now.

Thanks. I mean stalling, I did go down to 72kg a couple of weeks ago, but bounced back to 73kg and it’s not going down again. I’m just being impatient 😆

Reminding myself that 8kg loss is 17.6lbs off, so is a big loss overall!! MJ is magic ✨

Yes I've been travelling today ( 200 miles round trip ) and didn't want to introduce any vegetables/ fruit until I was back at home safely . I have had a meal now that includes some but starting very low .

Jab #10 today - I am still on 2.5mg and still pretty happy - I did one week of a double dose using the golden dose and felt so crap I really hated it - but sticking with 2.5 is enough to stop me overeating and I’m still losing weight

So my stats as of today:

SW 13 stone 9 lbs
CW 11 stone 10 lbs
Lost 1 stone 13 lbs - so so so close to my 2 stone!!!
GW 9 stone 7 lbs (2 stone 3lbs to go)

I might double dose again this month - possibly next week if I haven’t hit my half way point!

I’m definitely eating slightly more unhealthy things in addition to my piles of veg everyday but I feel that it will be sustainable after I come off MJ - my portion sizes are so much smaller and I am enjoying what I eat so much more

My size 14 jeans are super comfy now - so in anticipation of being thin I foolishly pulled my size 12’s out of the wardrobe this afternoon - couldn’t even get them over my thighs!!! 🤣

Baby steps!

That's a great amount lost on a low dose! I keep dithering about going up to 5mg (currently on 3.33mg), as it feels like the weight loss has slowed down, but it is still going down, and at a much quicker rate than with previous attempts at just diet and exercise on willpower alone. I've found my current wardrobe is fitting me much better, and I'm reaching for things that I haven't worn in ages, but I'm holding fire on digging out the stuff from 5 years ago. I'm going to be away for a few weeks in April, so my idea is to fully switch over to my summer wardrobe when I get back in May (I've got plenty of things to hand that I can pack to take with me for late Spring), and hopefully enjoy seeing what fits rather than miserably packing things away in the loft again and promising myself I'll fit into them by Summer 2027!

I had an unofficial weigh in today, and I'm at 1st 1.5lbs down on 8 jabs, which is not as much as man y on here, but great really. And yesterday afternoon I ran 10km, bounding along (with bonus warm sunshine!) and full of energy, having eaten very minimally all day. Normally I would have had to have a snack before going as I wouldn't have the energy, but I think that with the slower digestion of MJ, I seem to have more energy without needing to eat. It was a constant trap before of wanting to exercise (I genuinely love it when I'm on form), but needing to eat to fuel it.

Hettar · 05/03/2026 11:43

Just completed week 8 on 2.5mg

SW: 17 st 8lbs
CW: 15 st 10lbs
GW: 12 st
Loss so for: 1 st 12 lbs

Another 2lbs loss for me this week and I'm so close to losing 2 at, which would be amazing.

People are definitely noticing and my usual clothes are feeling quite baggy now.

FrothyCothy · 05/03/2026 12:57

I’m definitely having a whoosh week - seems to be the weeks I don’t go to the gym!
