@octagoneaway try one thing at a time, that's enough. I'd think about which change i could try that doesn't feel completely overwhelming.

Ok, this week’s plan is more water, more protein. Thank you, you’ve given me something to focus on. Xx

Have many people moved up to 7.5 already? I’m on my second 5mg pen (so 5 x 5mg jabs so far), but I’m definitely noticing more hunger. I was hoping to be like a friend who lost 4 stone sticking to 5mg, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to do that. I’ve lost a stone since 1/1, which I’m happy with, but I don’t want to stop losing completely.

I've just ordered a 2nd 5mg pen rather than moving up.

This last week I've struggled to eat at all, I've had to make up for it with some protein shakes and a scoop of clear protein powder in 2l of water during the evening. I've had a proper meal in the evenings but it's literally just been a bowl of soup or fish and veg.

I'll stick to this for a bit longer I think, see how I feel. My only real side-effect so far has been constipation. This is novel for me as I have IBS and usually "go the other way" so I'm kind of reluctant to take anything in case it swings back on me and I end up glued to the loo again!

Yes. So if you are starving and have had quite a few calories and shouldn't really eat anything else, eat something high protein anyway. Like chicken or tuna as much as you need. You might have a less than ideal calorie day, but you will likely feel more satiety and can start the next day much easier and hit goals again. Works for me.

bec81 · 28/02/2026 23:36

I definitely notice water too. I often feel i could eat a lot more, but then if I have a good chug of water I notice im actually quite full. Same after a glass of wine. A pint of water after a nice glass of wine seems to turn off the desire for another.

It blows my mind how quickly everyone is losing weight on here! I’ve only lost 6.5lb after 4 jabs which I know is still a loss but seems so small compared to most people on here 😳

I only lost a total of 2lbs my 4 weeks on 2.5 (well I went up and down which totalled out to 2).

Now on 2 weeks of 5 and still only slight saiety and appetite suppression so you are not alone!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 28/02/2026 16:51

Neither of those. I've been around that weight for a year and have done absolutely bugger all. But I am now wondering if healing affects calorie needs.

What app is that?

FrothyCothy · 01/03/2026 08:18

Re the previous discussion - weightloss isn’t just fat loss (though that’s what we’re aiming for). It’s water and muscle loss too. If you’re someone who has previously retained a lot of water, I think the jabs seem to help with that as well in terms of reducing inflammation so that will contribute to a pretty chunky drop on the scales initially and then be maintained. I think I’ve seen research articles that suggest as jabbers more of our weightloss is made up of muscle loss than traditional dieters - I guess because it’s a more rapid process. That’s why everywhere bangs on so much about strength training while on them, to retain the lean muscle. Not that I’ve seen the inside of a gym once this week!

Yes I had a week without my usual exercise routine due to illness. Day 11 and I’m still ill with a congested chest, however I’ve been feeling much better for a few days so started my routine back up a few days ago (doing a few extra non cardio workouts to catch up on the videos I have saved!).

I only do light weights but I bulk up easily (I always have); I noticed the other night while looking in a mirror (rare!) just how much my arm muscles are showing - I don’t often see them from that angle!

Another lb down today, taking me to 29lbs!

I’ve just finished my 1st 5mg pen and I’ll be sticking to it, suppression is good so I’m not thinking about food but I can still eat and enjoy food if I want to. I was handed a bowl of pasta yesterday which isn’t something I’m eating regularly; pre MJ I would finish whatever I was handed - and I’ve found that can still eat volume if I want to - however I consciously chose to stop eating halfway through because it looked like too much.

I’m really looking forward to my holiday now because I know that I’ll be able to enjoy all the food on offer, but that I can just choose to eat less of it. I’ve been a bit worried about not having scales for over two weeks but with the 30,000 steps a day that we averaged last time we went, hopefully it will not be too bad.

Etherealcelestialbeing · 01/03/2026 08:45

@PerimenoantiThe effects of GLP1 are more than just controlling appetite or reducing food noise. It increases insulin sensitivity which means the body uses sugars for fuel rather than storing them as fat. So it’s more complex than just calories in vs calories out - it’s a whole change in hormone levels in the body.
The Glucose Goddess and Mindy Pelz give lots of info about this.

That’s very similar to my loss but I think that’s fine for me. I couldn’t have lost that without WG

Hotfirewood · 01/03/2026 13:11

Jab day, 10th dose (6th of 5mg). I’ve put on 1kg!! I’ve been working out with weights for the last few weeks so I’m telling myself it’s muscle 🫣 I feel much slimmer and my clothes are looser. I’ll keep going but I’m sulking 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ Keep reminding myself that I’ve lost 8kg and that’s equivalent to a heavy dumbbell if I lift it.

Actually I should probably take a laxative too 🫣 And eat more protein. I have zero appetite!!

5’7”
SW 81kg
CW 73kg (8kg or 17.6lb loss)
GW 63kg

FrothyCothy · 01/03/2026 19:12

NSV: size 18 jeans in New Look fit! H&M clearly a less generous cut 😆 I ordered an 18, 20 and 22 and ended up not even having to unpack the two bigger sizes.

Loads of steps this weekend - 22k yesterday and 17k today, my legs are dead. Did have a few drinks yesterday and some late-night toast so there was an expected bump on the scales today - must remind myself of this tomorrow on weigh in!

Perimenoanti · 01/03/2026 19:59

God I love the sizing down, its like a new hobby. I also ordered stuff today. A new belt 20inches shorter than my current one. A few other things. I tried on a work shirt I bought in Jan and was v tight (it was on sale). I caught telling myself that it will fit in about a month. Its crazy to think that I might sustain the weight loss and not fall off the wagon this time.

I keep making changes to meals. Id previously eat a bowl of pasta. Now its half that plus some tuna salad on the side for an easy calorie saving.

Onbdy · 01/03/2026 22:11

I chickened out and decided to jab 3.75 rather than the full 5mg. I’m glad I did as I’ve had a big increase in suppression and a few side effects, heart burn etc. I might stick to 3.75 for the whole of this pen if it works.

Perianth · 02/03/2026 09:48

I’ve bumped along this week, gaining and losing the same lb and ending the week the same weight as I was last Thursday.

That said though, I tried on an old skirt this morning that was a good 3 inches from being able to do up at the start of Jan and now it’s loose! Not had any need to shop for new sizes yet though, as I still have plenty of clothes I had to stop wearing, as they were too tight. Nice that they fit now though!

I increased my dose to 3.75 this week (and next) and have ordered 5 for my next pen, as I’ve being finding it harder to stay on track with the food noise and hunger creeping back in.

Still feeling great on this drug though, fortunately, with plenty of energy, and have been able to increase my exercise significantly. Much easier to move around now I’m a stone and a half lighter!

Perimenoanti · 02/03/2026 10:37

To those who are taking less than the prescribed dose and the pen lasts longer: do you still have to order every four weeks and you just stockpile pens? Or do pharmacies not mind?

CatNoBag · 02/03/2026 10:42

Took my 8th jab today, sticking to 3.33mg for now. I think Im still getting a benefit from it, though it's very subtle but that does suit me as don't want to drop my calorie intake too low. I ran 16 miles yesterday, so I need to be able to eat enough that I don't find myself out 8 miles from home, in the middle of nowhere with no juice in my tank! I'm hoping it will also help me maintain in the long term without needing to stay on a low dose forever. I think there are other benefits to MJ than just the weight loss (generally calmer, I seem to have more energy though that might be because I'm lighter...), but the cost and difficulty in getting a prescription would put me off longer term, maybe if they get the tablets approved it would be easier.

My weight has been up and down a lot this past week, but I'm still a 1lb down fro last week and I think it will settle a bit lower in a few days - I get some inflammation from big exercise days, especially around my middle where I had surgery, plus eating more carbs on the weekend for fuelling makes me retain water. It's exactly a year since I was in hospital, so I'm quite proud of my comeback after 4 years up and down with health complications.

Small wins.

Today I can fasten the button on the £5 zebra-striped size 16 jeans! The zip was trickier, not quite there with that yet, they were very uncomfortable and there was a LOT of overhang!

But when I bought them they only just went over my hips. The button was miles away from fastening - a good 6 to 8 inches I reckon.

So erm yay for me! 🎉 Happy Monday everyone!

I have a pair of jeans that I bought on sale months ago. I was able to get them done up when they arrived, but they were a squeeze and I've been holding off wearing them until they fit comfortably. We had good weather on Saturday, so basically ALL my clothes were on the line and as my winter wardrobe is a bit limited anyway, I ended up wearing them. Still not quite there (the pockets go a bit out of shape and they weren't completely comfortable around my middle), but there's hope!

How many clicks is it on a 2.5mg MJ pen to obtain a 3.75 dose?
Im going to try slightly more before I order a 5mg. I don’t have any side effects but have stagnated with weight loss.

Edited

It's 60 clicks for a full dose of 2.5mg (or whatever pen you have). I think you'd have to do one 2.5mg dose then do another counting 30 clicks to get to 3.75mg using a 2.5mg pen, assuming it will only goes so far.

Yep - that's exactly what I did this week - injected one full dose as normal, then counted 30 clicks for a half dose and injected that too.

I had time to kill in town yesterday, was near a tk max, so popped in. I came out with a size small t-shirt and 2 pairs of size 10 trousers. Obviously they are generously cut, and could do with a bit more breathing space in the trousers, but delighted with the NSV! 2 months ago I was squeezing into size 14s
