I have maintained the last 2 weeks which is frustrating. I do my jabs on Sunday and this Sunday will be my 8th jab of 2.5. I have ordered 5 mg and will do that jab this weekend. I have lost 1st one 5lbs in total which I am happy with but want to push fwd with a bigger weight loss. So here’s hoping for a good weight loss next week!

1stone 5 lbs over 8 weeks is 19lbs so just over 2.3lbs per week average. That sounds ideal to me, well done 👍

Nice to hear everybody’s updates and progress.

i’m on week 6 and jabbed on Monday. Felt absolutely dreadful yesterday and today and had to take time off work. Lot of nausea, burps, reflux and extreme exhaustion, fluid retention. I don’t know whether I am dehydrated, or having low blood sugar or just really feeling the effects this week. This is the worst it has been so far. I’m still on 2.5. Seriously doubting whether this is worth it.

That's actually an excellent weight loss each week on average

I am not sure whether to stick with 5mg or go up. Still very weak suppression, food noise is unchanged and slight cravings. Everything is very 'mild' and still using monumental willpower to push through.

I did have fried chicken and chips yesterday as I suddenly had a craving but felt awful attempting to eat it so threw it away. Wonder if that was MJ related. I may get a 2nd 5mg pen as it builds up in my system as I want to do more of this myself with some WLI injection support so I do not have to remain on this for life

I’m feeling really similar. Loads of food noise, but not keep to move to 7.5. With some encouragement from my PT (who doesn’t know I’ve been jabbing), I’ve been really good with protein this week, which I do feel has made a big difference to reducing cravings. I’ve got 2 more weeks on my current pen (tonight and next week) and I’ll make a decision in a few days.

whiteandblackfluffycat · 05/03/2026 16:45

Still very good suppression on 5mg here after 4 doses (and due my 5th tomorrow) but I eat lots of protein and it does make a difference.

Edited

I am the exact same! Will decide in the next few days.

Pen 3 tomorrow. Satiety is a problem too. Had soup for lunch which was fine a couple weeks ago. Now I am famished! I did see something on the Mounjaro Reddit page that somebody said it was pen 3 of 5mg that they really noticed an effect. And their total journey sounded like man to date.

That's a great amount lost on a low dose! I keep dithering about going up to 5mg (currently on 3.33mg), as it feels like the weight loss has slowed down, but it is still going down, and at a much quicker rate than with previous attempts at just diet and exercise on willpower alone. I've found my current wardrobe is fitting me much better, and I'm reaching for things that I haven't worn in ages, but I'm holding fire on digging out the stuff from 5 years ago. I'm going to be away for a few weeks in April, so my idea is to fully switch over to my summer wardrobe when I get back in May (I've got plenty of things to hand that I can pack to take with me for late Spring), and hopefully enjoy seeing what fits rather than miserably packing things away in the loft again and promising myself I'll fit into them by Summer 2027!

I had an unofficial weigh in today, and I'm at 1st 1.5lbs down on 8 jabs, which is not as much as man y on here, but great really. And yesterday afternoon I ran 10km, bounding along (with bonus warm sunshine!) and full of energy, having eaten very minimally all day. Normally I would have had to have a snack before going as I wouldn't have the energy, but I think that with the slower digestion of MJ, I seem to have more energy without needing to eat. It was a constant trap before of wanting to exercise (I genuinely love it when I'm on form), but needing to eat to fuel it.

I dithered about going up to 5 but couldn’t justify the extra cost when I am still loosing on 2.5

However I don’t exercise and I know that if I did wonderful things would happen!

I want to Enjoy going for a run but the idea fills me with dread … I have a friend who thinks nothing of going on a 10km run for fun and I really envy her!

I keep telling myself that when I’ve lost a bit more I might attempt couch25k…. But I feel like I might be lying to myself 😬

Definitely feeling the effect of going up to 0.5 - absolutely stuffed from dinner tonight - think I’d got used to being able to eat a bit more in my second month on 0.25. Bleeeurgh.

HollywoodTease · 05/03/2026 18:46

Just spent an hour with the pants floordrobe 😳

Well ok not on the floor, in hanging shelves in the wardrobe but the mountain kind of went down in size from 14s on the bottom (in vacuum bags from 15 years ago!) to small 16s to larger 16s then small 18s with larger 18s and a couple of 20s (current wear) on top.

Have put 7 pairs (including ALL the 20s and some 18s) that are now too big in a bag to go to the clothes bank. Most of the previous small 18s and a couple of the larger 16s have moved to the current section. Most of the 16s are now in a new pile of "nearly". Some of the very small 16s are stuffed back with the 14s and classed as " not yet".

I feel better for having done it, the wardrobe is much tidier, I found some old faves that I have very much missed being able to wear and I reckon I've burned a few cals as well. Another bonus - because I'm a bit of a hoarder I won't need to go shopping for new pants for ages!

glutenisthedevil · 05/03/2026 19:20

Well done @HollywoodTease, it's an amazing feeling isn't it? I did the same over the weekend and managed to put a lot of my size 18 clothes aside for the charity shop, brought out my old size 16s and created two piles - one of clothes that fit now and the other pile for clothes that will fit more comfortably in around a stone's time. The size 14s are still in the box... for now.

I meant jab 3

Perimenoanti · 05/03/2026 20:32

Has anyone else noticed an absolutely rank taste and smell in their mouth and breath? Its extreme today. I think im whooshing as I pee every hour, so its probably processes in the body. I hope its a good sign.

Got a chicken shish from my Turkish place today. The first time I got a normal one, not a large one. They must have thought they misheard my order lol

FrothyCothy · 05/03/2026 20:33

Is it sulphury? Or sometimes high protein low carb can affect your breath as well

No, just like extreme morning breath.

Sulphury is like egg, isn't it? Don't taste egg.

glutenisthedevil · 05/03/2026 22:37

@Perimenoanticould it be tonsil stones? I've had a few since starting MJ, I think because it causes dry mouth and the lack of saliva can lead to increased bacteria. They stink when they eventually come up and can definitely cause bad breath.

whiteandblackfluffycat · 05/03/2026 22:42

The only time my mouth gets like that is when I’m ill.

Thank god not. I had them before urgghh.

glutenisthedevil · 05/03/2026 22:52

@Perimenoanti thank goodness, they're horrible! Hope you figure it out.

whiteandblackfluffycat · 06/03/2026 06:22

Another 3lb off this week!

Height 5’6”
SW: 14 st 5
CW: 12 st 2

31lbs off! (Equivalent to a fully grown koala!)

BMI now 27.4 - middle of the overweight category.

I’m sticking with 5 mg as I still have very good suppression the whole time, yet I can still enjoy food.

notcomfortable · 06/03/2026 06:41

Definitely stalled
Have not lost any weight in 10 days now
Trying not to panic
As long as I'm not gaining it's all good right?

It should be fine, I’ve had 3 weeks with 0 weight loss since 1st Jan, For me, it’s clearly linked to hormones, as nothing else changed on those weeks.

2026istheyear2 · 06/03/2026 07:37

2.6 pounds off this week which takes me to 32 pounds off - another Koala @whiteandblackfluffycat 🤣 Will stick with 3.75 as it is working brilliantly. One pound to go and I’m under 200 pounds!

CatNoBag · 06/03/2026 09:09

@BooptotheFloof - I won't make any promises, you will hate it initially, but then suddenly one day you might have a great run/session in the gym/spin class and feel so good, and then you're hooked! Couch to 5k is a great place to start, take your time and follow the plan and you'll get there! Parkrun is great too if there's one near you. Most are very happy to have people walking the course and it's such a kick to see your times dropping each week! What is it they say: "don't put off until tomorrow..."

@Perimenoanti my mouth hasn't been the same since I started, like you say, extreme morning mouth but all day. Strange taste, and wake up in the night with a completely dry mouth. I've started taking one of those bottles of water with a straw to bed with me and every time I wake up i take a big gulp! I was drinking over 2 litres of water in the first month but I've stalled a bit on that so I need to try to get better at it again because it did help.
