I'm musing on my targets today. My first target is to lose 10% of my starting weight, from 99.95kg to 90kg. Not quite there yet but it's in sight!

Progress so far has taken me down the obesity classes according to BMI. I started at class III (40+) and am currently at the high end of class II (34.9-39.9)

I'm thinking my second target will be 84kg, which would take me into class I obesity.

Target 3 I reckon 75kg, a loss of 25% of my starting weight.

Target 4 71.5kg, putting me in the "overweight" category at last instead of obese.

Target 5 66.5kg which would be a loss of 30% of my starting weight.

Ultimate goal 63kg, healthy BMI, happy Hollywood Tease!

Not sure if I'm overthinking this haha, but it will be good to start ticking off a list as well as discovering my small wins on the way!

The math isn't mathing!

If someone is 120+ kg then they could well have been eating 3000+ calories per day, more if their weight is increasing.

I've had similar results, I've lost 2.5 stone since January. I think my calorie intake has reduced by at least 2500 per day.

Im bigger than that. Its not adding up. 7000kcal are about 1kg of weight loss. Have you calculated your TDEE?

A 130kg person at 170cm would have to exercise most days to even maintain at 3000kcal. If they routinely eat more than that and are gaining they wouldn't be just 130kg to then be able to cut back by 2500 and still live.

To cut by 2500 means they could only eat about 500 and continue the exercise regime. Its not making sense. I think there are other factors at play.

BG2015 · 28/02/2026 16:27

I've now lost 15.3lb since January. I'm on Wegovy.
I did move up to 0.5 but felt so ill on it. I had a 10 day break just to get over the side affects and am now back on 0.25mg.

I have another 8-10lb to go so we will see what happens.

I'm 158 cm and my starting weight in January was 129 kg. I'm now 113 kg. My calorie intake now is somewhere between 1200 and 1500. Before starting mounjaro I was eating the same meals as I do now plus 4-6 bars of chocolate a day and takeaways/unlimited buffets 2 or 3 times a week. It adds up for me.

So you ate about 3800kcal a day? Im surprised you were 'just' 129kg. You must have been gaining rapidly at that kind of intake or do a very physical job or daily heavy exercise.

Perimenoanti · 28/02/2026 16:45

Heck, 2500kcal are five 100g choc bars a day. Maybe it is possible under these circumstances.

Neither of those. I've been around that weight for a year and have done absolutely bugger all. But I am now wondering if healing affects calorie needs.

No idea. I thought maybe the mounjaro does something else to burn faster than before besides giving the ability to stay in a deficit.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 28/02/2026 17:06

I've just googled it and apparently my body may have been/may still be in a 'hyper-metabolic state' whereby the base metabolic rate is up to 30% higher than normal. Blimey!

Do you mean the mounjaro might cause that?

No, caused by a proximal humerus fracture, breast cancer, and all the surgeries and treatments that followed.

first Jab 20th of January

eating well

never hungry

2.5mg MJ is so so powerful

how on earth do people need 15mg 🤔

Imo this is a scarily fast weight loss

And some people just don't respond as well, my friend never lost a single pound until she went to 10mg

InstantRegret · 28/02/2026 18:14

It blows my mind how quickly everyone is losing weight on here! I’ve only lost 6.5lb after 4 jabs which I know is still a loss but seems so small compared to most people on here 😳

If it makes you feel better that's about the same as me. 3 weeks and 2 5mg jabs later I've just hit my first stone 🙂

cautiouslyoptimistic3 · 28/02/2026 18:55

I’m even slower @InstantRegret. I’ve lost about 7 pounds in almost 6 weeks. Even a pound a week loss is progress.

cautiouslyoptimistic3 · 28/02/2026 19:05

Actually 5 weeks so about the same trend as you.

InstantRegret · 28/02/2026 19:26

Ok @HollywoodTeaseand @cautiouslyoptimistic3 that does make me feel better, thank you.
I know it’s all going in the right direction and slow and steady is good but on my 3rd week I didn’t lose anything and then only lost 0.5lb after week 4 so it’s a little bit disheartening. I’m hoping things start moving a bit more when I take a full 5mg dose 🙏 I may take it for my next jab as I’ve done 5 jabs at 2.5mg now. Oddly enough I am having more side effects now in weeks 4 and 5 than I did the 3 previous weeks 🤔

Octagoneaway · 28/02/2026 21:02

Have many people moved up to 7.5 already? I’m on my second 5mg pen (so 5 x 5mg jabs so far), but I’m definitely noticing more hunger. I was hoping to be like a friend who lost 4 stone sticking to 5mg, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to do that. I’ve lost a stone since 1/1, which I’m happy with, but I don’t want to stop losing completely.

AddUpToNothing · 28/02/2026 21:07

Some astounding losses here, you must all feel amazing.

Weigh in day and shot number 9 for me today. Another 2lb down which I’m
very happy with. 1st 5lb in total now.
Not to get ahead of myself but it’s mind blowing (to me) that if I continue like this, I’d be at my goal weight by September, it honestly doesn’t seem physically possible. But I shan't get too carried away thinking about that 😂

I’m going to take my measurements tomorrow to see if I’ve lost any inches since my starting measurements 6 weeks ago.

I haven’t moved up, I’ve stuck with 5mg but I would absolutely move up if I thought 7.5 would help me stick with it and I could afford to do so.

If you want to stick with 5mg, could you up your protein intake to keep you fuller for longer if calories allow (if tracking)?

That’s an idea!! Thanks. I have been trying so hard, but I’m just finding bad habits creeping in again. I did really well up to mid Feb, then parties and holidays happened and I’m struggling to get back on track. My fluid intake is down a bit too. Something else to work on. 😩

Do you think there is room for you to use these days to try and manage your behaviour and responses? Experiment with meals, more protein as someone else said. We are going to have to do this eventually.

Hunger sometimes freaks me out and I think I will struggle all day. But then I eat a high protein meal or even the equivalent of two meals in one sitting to feel full, but I am then able to eat less in the evening because im not hungry or im not having to eat for a long time. A lot of days I still manage a good deficit like that.

Im also starting to look into volume eating. Its not exactly new to me but I want to integrate it more. Make a meal look big without the big calories.

You might absolutely need to move up. But i figured out I have easy and then difficult days all on the same dose. So a couple of difficult days are then followed by a few easy ones. I don't quite understand why.

Yes, lots to think about and try. Thanks for your thoughts. I do want to to be successful and would like to stick on a low dose if I can. Particularly as some of side effects are not enjoyable 🤣
