Sorry for lots of posts today .
In my quest to eat very healthy . My main meal today is going to be salad leaves , smoked tofu , green lentils and a sprinkle of mixed seeds.
I'm a non meat eater , but would that be classed as a good mix of protein and carbs but still relatively low cal meal ? If not what would you suggest I can improve by adding ( non meat obviously )

CatNoBag · 27/02/2026 17:57

That sounds good @FrostyFlo . If you want to boost the protein a bit more, you could add some nuts (walnuts, cashews...) and/or cottage cheese if you eat dairy? I spent the first month weighing and logging everything, so it's nailed in a bit more that sprinkling stuff on top of my plate can add more calories than I've reckoned for, but I think you can get away with some nuts or cottage cheese for that meal.

I do eat cottage cheese ( but haven't today ) I also have a protein shake and a protein yoghurt with some fruit for breakfast the meal I mentioned plus another protein yoghurt later this evening .

Official weigh in day for me. I am 2lb down since last week which brings me to a stone total loss in 6 weeks. A steady two pound a week loss after the first week. I am definitely noticing my clothes hanging looser.

I am amazed at how steady my mood feels. I’m almost due my period and usually this week is a rollercoaster of rage and exhaustion. I also normally bloat so much I look 8 months pregnant and this week - nothing!! Not a bit of bloating, no crazy mood swings. I will be shocked if my period shows up on time as I feel so different.

So great to hear everyone’s stories - it really does motivate me to keep going.

sw 13 st 6
cw 12 st 6
gw1 11 st

FrothyCothy · 27/02/2026 21:37

Nothing as humbling as going to try on clothes in the shops and nothing fitting 😆 I’ve ordered three pairs of jeans in three different sizes online instead

cravingmilkshake · 28/02/2026 05:18

Hi everyone ,

I weigh daily but to avoid the stress of daily fluctuations, will log my stats monthly rather than weekly so hopefully I can see a better picture :

SW 123kg
CW 110.8 kg
TW - anything that makes me healthier and happier

So that’s 12.2kg loss since Jan - almost at the 2 stone loss which I’m pleased about . I’ve been eating about 1400 calories a day , however , I took my first 7.5mg 2 days ago and managed just 1000 (soup and bread for lunch and chicken breast and broccoli for dinner with a protein shake ) . So will see how I get on today

I’ve been strength training and 1-2 spin sessions a week .

Super happy with those results so far .

I hope everyone is ok and I cannot believe we are stumbling into March already !

I’ve always had this problem due to my large hip bones/ small waist/ pear shape; even at my ideal weight of 8st 10 I found it difficult to find trousers and dresses that fit!

I rarely buy clothes online because it’s such a hassle having to return. When I do find trousers that fit, I buy multiple pairs!

Well done @cravingmilkshake

I can’t believe it’s almost March either - holiday time later this month! With my 2 stone loss I’m already going to be feeling much more confident and comfortable in my summer clothes, and I’m hoping to be well on my way to another stone by the time I go. I have treated myself to some new summer dresses.

cravingmilkshake · 28/02/2026 09:16

Well done on your loss @whiteandblackfluffycat 2 stone is amazing ! Happy holidays - anywhere nice ?

I guess tolerance builds up and/or some just don’t respond in the same way to the drug until it gets to stronger concentrations. Others are “super responders” - which it looks like you are!

glutenisthedevil · 28/02/2026 11:20

Well done on your losses everyone. I love reading the updates, it's very motivational seeing how far we've all come in just a few months.

It was my 8th weigh-in today and another 2lbs off, which looks like being my norm now. I've lost 23lbs in total and set myself a mini goal of 2 stone by mid March, so I'm pleased that I'm currently on track to meet that.

Today is my last dose of 3.75mg before moving up to 5mg next week.

This is incredible. I wonder how this works? That kind of loss equals about 98,000kcal not eaten in under two months. Does the mounjaro trigger other processes that trigger a loss beyond the actual calorie deficit? It would be more than a 2000kcal deficit each day.

Perimenoanti · 28/02/2026 12:33

Im down 18.7lb today since 1st of Jan. Im well pleased with it. I found my groove a bit and learn to manage my thoughts around food. I have some supression but not as much as some here I think. I get hungry and get an appetite and then have to make sensible decisions that aren't always easy.

Im most pleased with how my thought patterns change. I am starting to accept that im going to waste food and money, especially the latter has been v difficult for me but im starting to be ok with it. Im starting to think along the lines of 'id rather waste food and money to be happier and healthier'. When I really want to eat something when I shouldn't anymore I ask myself if I want to be disappointed now because I say no to myself or do I want to be disappointed when get on the scales in the next few days? And tbh the first option is way easier to deal with.

totallyfrusted · 28/02/2026 12:43

Hello all, and well done on some incredible losses.

is anyone else struggling with lack of energy?

I’ve just been doing some gardening and oh my goodness I found it hard work. Every time I stood up I felt so light headed and found it a real struggle . It was my first time out there this year and there was a lot of raking and pruning to do but I don’t remember it being so hard.

I’m off to have a sweet cup of tea and gather my thoughts

I may even treat myself to a digestive biscuit . This will be my first biscuit since I started 6 weeks ago 😬

I’m eating 1600 calories a day
walking 10k steps in one go a day
drinking 4 liters of clear water a day

and no sugar or simple carbs

the mounjaro had obliterated all food noise
its slowed down digestion making me feel
fuller for longer and fuller quickly

this injection at 2.5mg had saved my life

Yes it does from what I’ve read, MJ helps with insulin resistance.

I piled weight on when I started HRT. Last year I spent a month eating the same as I am now, and exercising the same (I kept a diary, as I am now), and I didn’t lose a thing. The only difference this time is the MJ.

from Google AI overview:

“Mounjaro (tirzepatide)
effectively treats insulin resistance by acting as a dual GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist, which enhances insulin sensitivity, increases glucose-dependent insulin secretion, and reduces hepatic glucose production. It helps manage type 2 diabetes and obesity by reducing hunger, slowing gastric emptying, and promoting significant weight loss.

Key Details on Mounjaro and Insulin Resistance:

  • Mechanism: By mimicking both GLP-1 and GIP hormones, Mounjaro improves how the body uses insulin, reduces blood sugar levels, and lowers HbA1c.
  • Insulin Sensitivity: It boosts the body's sensitivity to insulin, allowing it to utilize glucose for energy, which decreases hunger and helps with weight loss.
  • PCOS & Metabolism: Mounjaro may help with PCOS by reducing insulin levels, which can reduce androgen production and improve metabolic health.
  • Effectiveness: In studies, it has shown to be effective in managing prediabetes, with many participants no longer meeting prediabetes criteria after one year.
  • Administration: It is a once-weekly, subcutaneous injection.”

Yeah i read something like that before but i don't understand how this speeds up weight loss beyond the calories in/out rule. Anyone able to explain in simple terms?

cautiouslyoptimistic3 · 28/02/2026 13:30

I am convinced that there is something happening to the insulin resistance beyond appetite suppression and slowing gut. Like @whiteandblackfluffycatI too have eaten well and exercised in the past and would lose a couple of pounds and then plateau. Whilst losses are slow for me I am still losing and maintaining the loss. I hope more comes out about this through research.

cautiouslyoptimistic3 · 28/02/2026 13:31

Really enjoying reading everybody’s updates. Well done to you all.

BeWildPearlFish · 28/02/2026 13:37

I love reading all the updates, this thread is so inspiring. I've only told 3 people in real life that I started MJ so it's good to have here to share and chat too.

I took jab 8 today, have my period this week and down 2.5lb which seems like a miracle in itself as in the past I've bloated and gained horribly. So 10kg/1.5 stone since starting in Jan.

I use a 10kg kettlebell and it is heavy!

I have a holiday in mid March and have some new summer clothes that I'd bought a few years ago with the aim of losing weight to fit into them, obviously this didn't happen pre MJ.

My BMI is in the overweight range instead of obese which feels so lovely
