Also if anyone other than me is using the huel ready-made protein shakes as a calorie/nutrition top-up if you don't feel like eating or a grab-and-go if you're pushed for time.

I had one yesterday, forced it down but found it very thick and claggy to the point of unpleasantness.

Today I've diluted it half and half with semi-skimmed milk and it's so much better!

The huel shakes are awful 🤢
The arla ones are really nice, currently on Tesco offer

Perimenoanti · 22/02/2026 15:24

Good to know about Huel. Probably won't try them anytime soon. Will try the Aarla ones.

The raspberry vanilla by my protein is okish, so I am about to order a big pack.

I've just looked at the Arla ones they are 482ml and 52 calories per 100ml .
Do you drink the whole bottle as that is quite a few calories ? Over 450 calories .

HollywoodTease · 22/02/2026 16:02

They are meant to be calorie-dense I think as their main use is for weight-training.

For me, I haven't felt like eating at all for the past 2 days. No nausea, just... not arsed. Nothing I fancy, and no hunger. I ended up making a cauliflower cheese last night with some stir-fried beef strips. Maybe 600 cals tops. The shake added another 400. Fasting might help me lose weight quickly but it's not sustainable so I've found the shakes handy to help me actually eat enough.

InstantRegret · 22/02/2026 17:14

I agree, Arla ones are lovely. Lidl ones are lovely too. Their 330ml ones contain 35g of protein and are approx 222 calories (depending on flavour).

2026istheyear2 · 22/02/2026 17:48

Went to pub today for lunch and ordered chicken ceaser salad with dressing on the side. It was huge when it came and I could literally only have 3 or 4 mouthfuls. First time I have been properly suppressed - I eat out a lot and have been enjoying it still just not finishing starter and main and no pud. It was really odd just not being able to eat anything at all as I haven’t had that so far and haven’t gone up a dose.

GreenLemonade · 23/02/2026 08:39

End of week 6 and another 1.3kg / 3 lb down. Total loss 7.8 kg / 1st 3 lb.

I didn't even realise but I'm no longer obese and haven't been for 2 weeks😅

I'm pleased with my results but I can't help but be slightly jealous of people who struggle to eat on WLI. Most days I'm able to stick to my self imposed limit of 1200kcal but it requires discipline and willpower. If I'm not careful I can blow it on one meal. For example, on Friday we had a sushi takeaway where I easily consumed over 1000 calories in one sitting 🫣

Despite this, I decided to stay on 5mg for next month. I feel like I can't justify to move up the dose if I'm losing well and have no side effects.

Not to derail, but this made my ears prick up as I had to stop HRT as had such awful depression caused by Itrogestan, which has made me stay putting weight back on (especially round my middle) - apparently it’s really common. Do you find the patches don’t have the same side effects?

Yes, the patches have had none of the side effects I was getting with Utrogestan for me. It was badly drying my body out to the extent that I was waking up with my eyelids stuck to my eyes during those two weeks, even though I was drinking plenty and using eye ointment from the optician. I also noticed a decline in my mood when on it. I haven’t had these symptoms with the patches.

I piled weight on once I started HRT but I doubt there will be a difference in the weight gain though because the patches I’m on state weight gain as a side effect on the pharmaceutical sites! I was unable to counteract this with eating low calorie and exercise alone, even with strong willpower - the MJ is finally helping it to shift it!

whiteandblackfluffycat · 23/02/2026 08:42

Another couple of lbs off here.

SW: 14.5 stone
CW: 12.7 stone.

Nearly at a 2 stone loss!

I’m also out of the obese BMI catergory.

AllTheChaos · 23/02/2026 08:59

Thank you, @whiteandblackfluffycat , I will give the patches a go! And be aware that they might make the weight gain worse, but life without HRT is making me both fat AND even less functional than usual! And at least there are now these other methods for helping stop the weight gain, and thank goodness for them

Yes, thank goodness!

I’m not planning on being on MJ long term (I have young DC and can’t really justify it) so will see what happens when I come off!

One thing I have noticed is that I have to eat far fewer calories than most to avoid putting weight on/ lose weight. I was putting weight on at 1400-1500 calories with daily exercise, and I’ve had to go down to 800-1000 even though I’m very active. I read elsewhere today someone saying that 1600 is too low - I wish I could eat that!

I think it’s an age thing too - this is only since peri/ HRT and if I look at my parents/ in-laws/ grandparents then they don’t eat much at all - I think we do need much less as we get older.

CatNoBag · 23/02/2026 09:51

I'm down .08lb this week taking my official weigh in day as today. It was 1.5lbs on Saturday, but jumped up a whole pound on Sunday, so I'm taking today's middle ground as a win! Using Saturday's weight, I was briefly overweight instead of obese, but back am now half a pound back in that zone. hopefully next week will see the back of it!

SW: 14
CW: 13:6.8
Lost: 12.2lbs
7th jab today - stuck to 40 clicks of a 5mg pen, so 3.33mg.

I had a bit of a busy week and less movement (some of that deliberately as my training plan was a recovery week, some not so much due to work), and not as on top of my game with meal planning (still eating well, but a few too many carbs maybe), so I'm happy enough with a slight loss this week. I've also been a bit bunged up, took a swig of Lactulose last night and I think that's already helping.

@GreenLemonade - I'm exactly like you with not struggling to eat. My husband (who doesn't know about the WLI) says he's never eaten better (he gets extra carbs, but otherwise eats the same as I do, apart from breakfast), but in a way I'm happy with that as it's giving me the opportunity to learn how little I can survive on, and I'm still enjoying planning meals and trying new recipes (this was/is such a big part of my personality so I'm quite glad!). I'm plating up smaller portions for myself and it's enough, and I think the magic of it for me is not wanting to snack all the time. I can go to the supermarket and just buy what I need, go to the bakery and walk out with just a loaf etc!

I think it’s an age thing too - this is only since peri/ HRT and if I look at my parents/ in-laws/ grandparents then they don’t eat much at all - I think we do need much less as we get older.

I've found this - in the past I could exercise my way out of being overweight and not have to change my diet too much, but this got less easy as I've gotten older (whilst at the same time being less able to exercise as I used to due to injury, lockdown closing gyms even when pub where open, and then illness). I had to have a total hysterectomy, everything out, aged 46 so went into medical menopause and after that it seems I really can't just exercise my way out of it! I was not right for about 2 years and had quite a long recovery after the op as there were lots of complications with other organs being affected, and the weight just piled on whilst I was reduced to just being able to go on walks, no gym work, no running etc for months.

I've been on Evorel patches since having my ovaries removed, I'm going to see how things are going with those and keeping the weight off now that I'm getting lighter. I'm finding running so much easier already, nearly back to my old self in that regard (or at least, one of the better versions of my previous self, if not quite the best yet), plus enjoying gym and a quick daily yoga session in the morning. My Mum (in her 80s now, but very fit and active) eats very little day to day, she has the occasional blow-out when she has visitors, on holiday etc, but just on her own she'll happily just eat a plate of vegetables and not much else.

GreenLemonade · 23/02/2026 10:22

@CatNoBag Good to know I'm not alone! I hope not relying purely on suppression will help us develop better habits in the long run.

I tried to make changes that are sustainable and work for my whole family. I don't want to cook separate meals just for me. I set a few rules for myself:

  • Skip breakfast, just coffee with protein powder (I'm never hungry in the morning anyway)
  • Half my usual portion for lunch (typically a sandwich)
  • Same dinner as usual but portion control to 500kcal max
  • One snack a day, and only if I really need it. I choose healthy options, such as a pot of skyr or an apple
  • I stopped finishing my kids food. If it has to go to the bin so be it
  • Where possible, I make swaps or adjust portion sizes to increase protein intake. For example, instead of a cheese sandwich I make a sandwich with chicken for lunch. At dinner, I put more meat and veg on my plate and less carbs. I aim for at least 80g of protein per day, which I know is lower than ideal but it's what I can sustain on 1200kcal

I would be interested to hear about the rules others have created, to see whether there is anything more I could easily implement.

GreenLemonade · 23/02/2026 10:33

Forgot to add, I have one "cheat meal" a week, which can be a takeaway, a pub lunch or a dinner in a restaurant. I also allow wine that day

CatNoBag · 23/02/2026 10:52

@GreenLemonade - your meals sound very similar to mine! I do tend to have breakfast, but a bit later in the morning and I've switched to yogurt, nuts and fruit instead of porridge, granola or toast. I still have toast at the weekend, but I run a lot over weekends so I need the carbs! Lunch is some combination of vegetables + protein and minimum carbs (lentil or bean soup, stir fried vegetables with egg + chickpeas/beans/chicken/cottage cheese), and then dinner, like you, lots of vegetables + a protein and minimal carbs. I've been managing ~80g or protein a day (sometimes even hitting 100g, but like you say it's difficult whilst keeping calories low), eating around 1200 calories (sometimes more, sometimes less). I don't have to worry too much about eating kids leftovers, apart from occasional visits from his grandchildren (their leftovers did go in the food waste this weekend!), My kryptonite was snacking WHILST COOKING, which I've managed to stop completely, which I'm putting down to the mounjaro - I just don't consider it now, so not even having to stop myself.

bec81 · 23/02/2026 11:08

My meals tend to be:
Breakfast: collagen coffee
Lunch: usually fage 0 with berries, protein powder and chia. Occasionally 2 eggs or a simple salad
Dinner: a smaller portion of whatever i/my husband has made for everyone with less carbs, so a turkey chilli with tablespoon or 2 of rice, fajitas without the wraps, fried fish and veg with a small portion of noodles.
Snack: my favourite snacks at the moment is a pear with a sprinkle of blue cheese or an apple with peanut butter.

Im finding it difficult to get above 1000 cals at the moment, but at the moment this is about all I can manage.

Loads of water (usually manage 3 litres) and regular tea (with milk) throughout the day.

whiteandblackfluffycat · 23/02/2026 11:34

My rules:

  • I don’t eat breakfast.
  • I eat lunch as late as possible, usually between 1-2pm. It’s usually plain eggs with salad or natural yoghurt with fruit, or soup.
  • I eat a variety of things for dinner, just a smaller portion than usual, and vegetarian
  • I drink black coffee, plain water, green tea and redbush. I drink lots, but I always have.
  • I’m not eating bread at all; I’ve known for years that it’s not good for my body - it makes me bloated instantly, but I always craved it for lunch pre MJ. I’m finding it so easy not to eat it - I haven’t had any since last year!
  • I’m avoiding processed foods/ drinks.
  • I don’t drink alcohol - I never have done so it’s not a rule, but just for info.
  • I exercise twice a day: a strength/ weights/ cardio workout on average for 20-30 mins once in the day, and half hour brisk walking on a treadmill in the evening. I also walk a fair bit during the day as I don’t drive.
  • I’m taking supplements: multivitamins and minerals, biotin, flaxseed, extra vitamin d and ferrous sulphate.
  • I’m moisturising my whole body daily.

5mg is creating the same level as suppression for me as 2.5mg did, so I’m finding it easy to eat healthy, natural foods and I’m not craving stodgy carbs, but I’m also still able to eat no problem - I could eat more if I wanted to, but I don’t want to.

MJstarterbefore40 · 23/02/2026 12:17

Weight loss has slowed this month so I've bitten the bullet and ordered the 5mg. Just hoping there's no side effects.

FrostyFlo · 23/02/2026 15:02

Took my 7th WG jab on Friday , and have had diarrhoea ever since , and yes have even disgraced myself , thankfully at home ( if you get what I mean ) so haven't eaten until now . Just had a protein shakes and a protein yoghurt and will get an electrolyte in me later . At least I have had 35g of protein thus far .

goldylock · 23/02/2026 16:35

I usually have a bowl of coco pops.

Lunch could be a sandwich with some fruit.

Dinner usually something with chicken.

I do play a lot of tennis and had a bagel/simple carbs before a match yesterday.

Biggest fiend for me was crisps. And I haven't wanted to have any since I started....

JHound · 23/02/2026 16:47

First week of 5mg. Still no suppression. In fact I had more on first week of 2.4g.

So 4.5 weeks total, total of 2lbs loss (went up and down.)

Cravings for sugary things slightly reduced but that’s it.

Which is sad as this means I will likely have to go up after just 4 weeks on 5mg.

FrothyCothy · 23/02/2026 17:42

104.5kg this morning which is about my lowest weight since Jan 2025. Last 0.25 jab tonight (week 8) before I order 0.5. Slow and steady loss of 6.5kg, just over a stone, but given my indulgences of last week I’ll take it as a win.

glutenisthedevil · 23/02/2026 17:45

I took 3.75mg on Saturday to try and ease myself up to 5mg and I'm so glad I did. I had the dreaded sulphur burps yesterday and couldn't really eat very much, then had to rush to the toilet first thing this morning and have felt nauseous for most of the day. I'm clearly someone who has a sensitive system and is going to experience side effects, so I'm glad I didn't jump straight from 2.5mg to 5mg. Just hoping it settles quickly.

notcomfortable · 23/02/2026 18:12

Good evening all
That's another kg off me, bringing my total loss to 28kg
But I lost 30kg last year so I still have a way to go
