Anyone else get light headed? All morning I have to stabilise myself when I stand up because I feel wobbly for a few seconds. I have been struggling to get sufficient calories in since going up to 0.5mg, maybe I need to look at that

I had this at the start. Coincidentally I read up about calorie deficits and the resting metabolic rate yesterday. It did mention that you could get light headed if you can't eat enough calories. It could also just be a side effect.

At times I ate 1000kcl below my TDEE (im huge and its easily done). It seems i feel better eating a bit more. I stay 700 below my TDEE or 500 on a bad day or re-feed day.

Im constantly torn between making the most of the WLI and doing it sustainably. I.e. eating in a way I could maintain for life.

HollywoodTease · 21/02/2026 13:51

No lightheadedness here, that would likely be your blood sugars or blood pressure I think?

Day 4 after 1st 5mg MJ. Days 1&2 had the headache from hell and was hungry all the time, had to practically sit on my hands not to snack. Day 3 I caved and had fish & chips for dinner (not many chips though) Today I am (unofficially!) another 1lb down and don't feel like eating at all. I've been sipping on a huel shake to try and get nutrients/calories in, but the thought of a proper plate of food is just totally meh.

DH paid me a compliment though, said he thought I was starting to get my waist back. I'm not convinced, so I thought I'd stick some comparison pics up. Pink tshirt is the one I submitted to Bolt when I signed up. Black tshirt is today, approx 12lbs down. I'm not sure if it's the different clothes but I do feel like there's been a bit of progress.... It might just be different clothes though!

I also found this in Sainsburys this week. I've bought some collagen powder but hit a bit of a wall with it as I don't drink tea or coffee and it doesn't dissolve well in cold drinks. I've had some in soup but I'm not having soup every day.

This is OK, zingy and refreshing at the start of the day. It's not the tequila rose I would normally have as a shot though! 😂

Can definitely see the difference @HollywoodTease 👏

InstantRegret · 21/02/2026 09:39

That’s amazing @Perimenoanti👏

How are you feeling now @JHound? I’m due to take my first 5mg next week and I’m scared 😬
I woke up thinking I should stick to 2.5mg but it’s too late to change my order now 🤦‍♀️

Honestly? Same. Slight bloating but maybe because I had curry takeaway for dinner (and breakfast!)

I have lesser appetite, but no other real side effects. Will see how the rest of the week goes.

Onbdy · 21/02/2026 18:24

@HollywoodTease
I can see a difference too! Well done! 👏
It’s a good feeling!

Etherealcelestialbeing · 21/02/2026 20:09

@HollywoodTease yes definitely changes in your shape! Keep at it. My DH today told me I look ‘curvy’ which I’m happy with because I had been feeling decidedly ‘convex’ for the last year 😆

Fewer side effects for me this week with my second 5mg jab. I am lightheaded in the mornings so I’m trying to get a yoghurt drink down early so that I don’t get queasy and avoid eating until lunch.

Looking forward to getting back into term time routine on Monday as my meals have definitely veered off track slightly. Nothing terrible but a couple of meals out and carb heavy dinners. Still managed a 1lb loss - not terrible.

I am totally eating smaller portions though and am trying to leave a bit of food on my plate from each meal. It’s something I have never done in the past and it feels quite powerful to say ‘no - my body doesn’t need more food.’

HollywoodTease · 21/02/2026 20:24

Convex haha, love it! 😂

notcomfortable · 22/02/2026 07:38

I just realised since last year, I have lost 27kg altogether. I'm still not at healthy bmi
I honestly never thought that would be possible
I have an under active thyroid and I am coeliac so two health conditions that make me gain weight.
Just thought I would post for anybody that is feeling down about slow loses. When you look back in even 4 months time you will realise how far you have come and how much you have lost

Perianth · 22/02/2026 08:34

That’s a great loss @notcomfortable and a good reminder to us all that this is a marathon, not a sprint, but we are all getting closer to the finishing line.

Weigh in day for me and after a rubbish start to the week, where I actually gained a couple of days in a row, I’ve finished the week with a 3lb loss!

I’ve stuck to 2.5 for this second pen, and though I have considered jabbing more often with it to increase my dose, I haven’t done so in the end. I am feeling great, with no side effects, and though the suppression is not as strong as it was, it’s strong enough for me to stick to a sensible intake without too much effort. As long as I keep losing at this rate, I will stick to 2.5. Is anyone else still sticking with that dose?

Also, out of interest, is anyone else using RENPHO scales? I’ve been looking at some of the other metrics they give out and it’s quite interesting. I can see my water and protein have both gone up, which is good. A small amount of muscle mass loss, but an increase in skeletal muscle. My metabolic age hasn’t budged though, from 61 (I’m 54). They have a community space and you can follow others, so if anyone fancies connecting on there, drop me a DM.

Hotfirewood · 22/02/2026 08:41

Morning all - end of week 8, just did my first golden dose of 5mg. I bought the syringes recommended by another poster above. A bit trickier to inject as the needle I chose was not as fine as the usual MJ ones. There was 0.7ml of fluid left in the pen, I just did the usual 0.6ml.

Weight loss is 7.5kg so far. I started strength training a couple of weeks ago so I wonder if that’s slowed things down too! I feel considerably slimmer and my clothes are much looser. BMI is down to 25.4 so I’m nearly “healthy” 😂

Just ordered another 5mg pen. Here’s to another week.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 22/02/2026 09:20

@PerianthI'm sticking at 2.5 mg. I don't want complete suppression. I just want enough to enable me to make the choices I want and still enjoy what I eat. Plus I'm still losing 2-3 kg a week, which is already a bit too much.

Perimenoanti · 22/02/2026 09:36

The whoosh continues. Lost 6.6lb since Friday. I have been peeing a bit more, but not that much. I am mystified as to how this works.

What is the woosh!??

Its when you eat in a calorie deficit but don't lose or even gain and then have a big loss of several lb over night.

Does it just happen or does something happen to cause it?

InstantRegret · 22/02/2026 11:39

How long are people using their pens for if click counting? That must mean going over the recommended 30days?

Perimenoanti · 22/02/2026 11:53

I have no idea. Its not well understood.

CatNoBag · 22/02/2026 13:20

@InstantRegret - I’m aiming to get 6 or 7 doses from my 5mg counting clicks (getting 3.3mg + golden dose). I’m keeping it in the fridge, not the first to do it so hopefully I’ll survive!

FrothyCothy · 22/02/2026 13:41

@Perianth we have RENPHO scales but the only number I trust is the total weight and BMI calculations - everything else I’m pretty sure is made up - to get accurate body fat and muscle measurements I think you need to go into those submersible body composition machines which are not widely available.

We have the RENPHO tape measure as well which obviously is trustworthy and quite handy.

Had a dreadful week food wise, fell off the wagon and then some. Reined it in today so hoping scales tomorrow will be close to what they were this time last week. Need to order my next pen for WG - has anyone used PillSorted, Fella Health or IQ Doctor and can vouch for their legitimacy?!

Thanks @BooptotheFloof , I changed it to microwave after looking again as I thought who on earth has a countertop ice dispenser in the UK!? 😂

Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling down, am I right in thinking that you increased oral progesterone? Utrogestan/ oral progesterone can cause those side effects so it might be worth speaking to your GP and trying another type.

I’m glad I changed to patches as I’m no longer getting the side effects that I was getting with Utrogestan. After the initial panic about having to change I’ve got into a good routine and I’m actually finding them easier than the gel/ tablets, so will stick to them when I come off MJ. I initially had some aches which is common, but they’ve disappeared thankfully.

Not to derail, but this made my ears prick up as I had to stop HRT as had such awful depression caused by Itrogestan, which has made me stay putting weight back on (especially round my middle) - apparently it’s really common. Do you find the patches don’t have the same side effects?

cautiouslyoptimistic3 · 22/02/2026 14:01

@PerianthI’m sticking to 2.5 too. Suppression and side effects have been fluctuating a lot. I had some reflux last couple of days. And still struggling with understanding when I get the nausea is it just suppression and I shouldn’t eat or that it’s a signal to eat. I think the mind and gut may not be aligned right now. Have had similar pattern to you - a gain followed by a small loss. The thing that is getting to me a fair bit though is the apathy and lack of motivation - seeing it at work and at home. Having read about it, it is a side effect of MJ and I think it’s been referred to as anhedonia.

that all sounds quite negative and that’s not the case but I am still monitoring to see how long I stay on it.

for the whoosh effect, look it up online - some good descriptions/diagrams of it. In essence, as you lose fat, the fat gets replaced with water in the cells - maybe thinking the fat is going to come back. And then once it doesn’t, it lets go of this and we get a whoosh effect. Is very satisfying.

i too have the renpho scales and like looking at the trends. But don’t think they are hugely accurate in terms of the composition bits. I think
those plus body measurements are probably helpful.

HollywoodTease · 22/02/2026 14:12

Quick note to self - tried the £5 Sainsburys zebra jeans in size 16 on again this morning. Went over my hips fine, still about 2-3" away from fastening round my waist & over my belly though!

2nd note to self - buy a tape measure you cheapskate 😁

goldylock · 22/02/2026 14:16

@Perimenoanti Right, good chat 🤣

HollywoodTease · 22/02/2026 14:20

Also if anyone other than me is using the huel ready-made protein shakes as a calorie/nutrition top-up if you don't feel like eating or a grab-and-go if you're pushed for time.

I had one yesterday, forced it down but found it very thick and claggy to the point of unpleasantness.

Today I've diluted it half and half with semi-skimmed milk and it's so much better!
