@FrostyFlo I think the BMI scale is not very reliable. Even when I was slim and healthy in my early twenties I never went below a size 12/14 with big boobs (and was probably still classed as 'overweight' 🙄according to BMI). I think I just have a naturally bigger + curvier build than some people!

I feel the same way. I don’t think I have been a size 10 and in healthy bmi for my height since I was about 14/15 and I had no intention of going down that slim. I don’t think it would suit me at all. I have always had curves with hips and breasts and also think I’m quite heavy boned being 5ft1. I think it’s unrealistic and probably unhealthy for me personally to go down to what is classed as my “healthy bmi”.

Ralphiesaurus · 16/02/2026 07:57

Definitely feeling slimmer - and my tummy is getting smaller - but my weight has been all over the place the past few days. It doesn’t make any sense. Anyway, I still have good suppression (almost too good as I am sometimes quite nauseous at mealtimes) so I know I am not actually gaining when the scales go up, but it’s v weird. This is the sort of thing that would mess with my head sometimes on SW. you could have done a really “good” week but then get on the scales and that particular day you STS or even gain. I need to follow my own advice and just watch the overall trend, but it’s very odd!!

Hotfirewood · 16/02/2026 08:10

8th dose yesterday (4th of 5mg). I don’t feel hungry. Only side effect is nausea when brushing my teeth. Positive for me is that my IBS has improved. Much fewer instances of rushing to the toilet!

I’ve only lost 0.5kg again, which is going to make my weight loss painfully slow. Hoping to give it another 20 weeks to lose remaining 13.5kg, which takes me to first week of July.

Taking golden dose next week, planning to stick to 5mg for next order.

Also, I had lunch with a friend the other day. Spent £25 and ate 4 chips and the top of a small pie. Total waste of money 🤦🏼‍♀️

5’7”
SW 81kg
CW 73.5kg (-7.5kg)
GW 60kg

P.s. BMI just doesn’t make sense. I’m currently 25.4 and I don’t look overweight!

whiteandblackfluffycat · 16/02/2026 08:35

I’m 5’6 and my upper body was still slim at my heaviest last month (at over 14 st) - my collarbones still stick out and my arms and chest are slim. However all my weight goes on my hips and thighs (and stomach since peri). Even at my ideal weight of just under 9st - the weight I’ve been for much of my life - I have never been in size 10 bottoms because of my hip bones, and the more weight I put on, the more extreme my pear shape gets.

CatNoBag · 16/02/2026 09:31

@Ralphiesaurus - I've managed to have a good loss this week after a week or two of minimal loss. It's my 6th week in, and normally I would have gotten fed up with it not seeing a good result for my efforts in previous weeks but I think the calmness that seems to come with WLI helps to ride that wave a bit!

CatNoBag · 16/02/2026 09:47

6th jab for me today, the first from my 5mg pen after taking the golden dose last week. I counted 40 clicks for a dose of 3.33 as I'm happy with how things have been going lately, still losing gradually whilst eating 3 healthy meals a day. Lost about 2lbs since last week (my Monday weigh in last week was just a .2lb loss, but then another lb seemed to melt away overnight, so actually 3lbs down since last Monday!), a total of 11.5lbs since 12th January, which I'm very happy with. Hoping to get to 1 stone loss by the end of this month, then the next mini target will be to get under 13 Stone in March.

SW: 14.5
CW: 13.7.6
Lost (5 weeks): 11.5lbs

HeavyMonsterSound · 16/02/2026 09:50

Morning gang

I took my 6th jab yesterday - 0.5, after moving up from 0.25 last week.

Thankfully, I’ve had much better appetite suppression this past week after
plateauing for a fortnight.

SW: 80kg (12.8 stone)
CW: 73.1kg (11.7 stone)
TW: 63.5kg (10 stone)

This week’s weight loss of 2.7kg has given me a real boost.

Now I need to increase my protein and fibre intake — I think that’s the key to keeping things steady and avoiding fluctuations.

A bit more exercise wouldn’t hurt either, but I’m full of cold at the moment and can’t really be arsed.

Just realised I've lost a stone.

All that faffing about with Kilograms and converting into old money.

6.35kg just doesn't have the same ring to it as a whole stone.

Etherealcelestialbeing · 16/02/2026 10:12

Checking in after jab no 5. I’m tensely waiting for side effects to show up as it’s my first 5mg dose and I suffered quite badly some weeks on 2.5. I lost nearly all suppression recently so I’m hoping that wil come back with the higher dose.

I’m eating so clean now - it’s like the MJ takes away all the resistance not to. No hankering after sugary treats, no rumbling stomach when I eat small portions or skip breakfast. I’m having to think about how to get all the food groups in the small amounts I’m actually eating.

SW: 13 st 6
CW 12 st 9
GW 11st then reassess

What are people doing about jabs whilst abroad? I’m wondering whether to skip a week when I go away. Avoid the hassle of transporting medication, struggling with side effects etc.

GreenLemonade · 16/02/2026 10:16

End of week 5 for me. I’ve lost 6.5 kg in five weeks, which is just over a stone (I don’t usually think in stones as I’m not originally from the UK, but I’ll take any milestone win I can get 😅).

I’m slightly disappointed that I only lost 0.6 kg / 1.3 lb in the past week, but I’m hoping it’s down to water retention as my period is probably due. It’s hard to tell, though — my cycle is all over the place.

This was my first week on 5 mg. Just like with 2.5 mg, I was lucky to have zero side effects. Appetite suppression was better than on 2.5 mg, but nowhere near as strong as some people describe. I found it easy to make healthy choices and avoid snacking, but if I wanted to, I could still eat fairly large portions of fatty foods — not that I did!

I set my goal weight at 60 kg, which would give me a BMI of 22.5. That’s the lowest weight I’ve been since I was 12, and even then I only maintained it for a few years at university. It’s hard to imagine ever reaching it again, and even harder to picture that, in theory, I could lose another 10 kg down to 50 kg and still have a healthy BMI 😬 I think I’d look ill.

Perianth · 16/02/2026 10:28

@HeavyMonsterSound I am having the same confusion, swapping kg to lbs and stone and back. I'm old skool so kg don't really make sense to my brain, but I had a mind-blowing moment yesterday when I was doing a quick dumbbell workout and realised I have now lost more than my two heaviest (3kg) weights put together. They feel pretty heavy to me. I can't really believe I was lugging them round inside me only a few weeks ago!

notcomfortable · 16/02/2026 10:54

Just filling the thread with New York photos hope you don't mind 😋 after a rocky start getting here (long flight, jet leg and crying for my children) I now don't want to go home 😫
This was my Christmas and birthday present and after losing my job and my dog it's been a much needed reset.
But now I want to stay 🥲

InstantRegret · 16/02/2026 11:23

@Etherealcelestialbeingwhat sort of things are you eating? I’m struggling for meal ideas etc that cram in enough protein and fibre. Was having some shop bought protein shakes to up my protein but find them too sweet to stomach now and I’m sure they’re pretty bad for me anyway!

whiteandblackfluffycat · 16/02/2026 11:26

@HeavyMonsterSound well done! I must admit the kg people post means nothing to me, I only get stones!

@Etherealcelestialbeing I’ve been indecisive about this as we’re going away next month. I wasn’t going to take mine but my DH says he’s taking his so I might as well take mine. Isn’t it the case that once MJ has been opened it doesn’t have to be in a fridge? That’ll make it easier getting it to our destination.

@notcomfortable fantastic photo, I don’t mind at all! It sounds much needed and I’m glad you’re enjoying it so much that you want to stay. I know that feeling, I’m already dreading it.

It's weird isn't it. I've been losing 2-3 kg a week. Then 2 weeks ago I went up by 2 kg. In a week! Despite eating exactly the same as the previous weeks. Then last week, again eating the same, it went down by 4 kg. It doesn't make any sense.

HollywoodTease · 16/02/2026 12:55

@Etherealcelestialbeing

I postponed a dose, took it 2 days late but it was my last 2.5 and doesn't seem to have done any harm.

I'm away again in April but for 12 days this time so I think the pen will need to come with me.

Anyone who has taken theirs abroad did you have it in hold luggage or cabin bag? If cabin did it go through airport security OK?

Alltheyellowbirds · 16/02/2026 13:06

Perimenoanti · 15/02/2026 20:03

You misunderstood what the conversation was about and made it about brands. Joke is on you if you felt clever pointing out that it's a brand. 😂

OK, no need to be mean. I was trying to be helpful because you sounded confused.

FrothyCothy · 16/02/2026 14:00

Glad I weighed in yesterday as was up a lb this morning!

SW 111kg (17st6.7lbs)
CW 105.1kg (was 104.6 yesterday 😤) (16st7.7lbs)
-5.9kg/13lbs

7th jab tonight and need to decide a) which provider I’m going with for my next order and b) whether to up my dose to 0.5.

Still suffering from my efforts in the gym on Saturday - going to try and go this evening to punish the other half of my body!

I usually do intermittent fasting (except week before my cycle) so I don’t eat breakfast. If I do, it’s Greek yog, berries, seeds, prunes etc or a 2 egg omelette or avocado with tomatoes.

Weekday lunch is always homemade veg soup (in the soup maker) or a salad (with chicken, prawns, tuna, chickpeas etc). Then some fruit.

Dinners Have to be child friendly so generally chicken and veg traybake, slow cooked casserole, fish with green veg, vegetable/lentil curry.

I generally look for vegetarian recipes and add some meat/fish to get extra protein in.

Thanks @HollywoodTease.
I’m only going for a week at Easter so I might be able to time the doses just before then a few days late. I am totally torn between wanting to enjoy food for the week and keeping on track and not seeing the number on the scales rise!

HollywoodTease · 16/02/2026 14:50

I enjoyed food (and drink!) but managed to not overeat for once. We ate out every evening (had a kitchen in the room so omelettes every morning!) and I just stuck to low-carb (so no rice, chips, pasta or bread) with protein and loads of veg. Didn't track calories, came back 1lb lighter. I managed to turn down all the sugary treats and wasn't really bothered about not having them which was a bit of a shock to my system.

I'm on a cruise for the next trip, hence wanting to not miss a dose. Buffet restaurant will be hard, as will not drinking my own bodyweight in frozen pina coladas! 🍹 😂

Eeek , looking years / hopefully months ahead just checked my bmi ' healthy ' weights , and baring in mind I'm a shorty ...........

  • Your ideal weight should be between 6 stones and 10.7 pounds and 8 stones and 10.9 pounds.
  • The average ideal weight should be 7 stones and 9.9 pounds.

Minimum weight 6 stone .10 ! ! Even ideal @ 7 stone 9 is totally ridiculous .
I was thinking high 8s or around 9 stone .
I'm 5 ft . Anyone else think their bmi parameters are a bit low ?

My ideal weight is 8 stone 7 (also a shorty!) I am aiming for 9 stone 7 and will be utterly thrilled if and when I hit it!

@InstantRegret - I'm having ~150g of Greek yogurt for breakfast with fruit and some nuts & seeds; for lunch either soup with lentils and/or chickpeas, or a leek & beany stew, or vegetables with chickpeas/beans and a fried egg or scrambled. I keep meaning to buy smoked salmon to have for lunch too, and I got some chicken breasts today and might batch cook them and have them chopped and ready to go in the fridge. Dinner is usually chicken or fish and lots of vegetables, or more legumes (I'm definitely hitting my fibre targets!) and nearly every day I have a big portion of edamame or peas as they have lots of protein. I have less potato/rice/pasta type carbs in the week, filling my plate with vegetables, but then I have pasta at least once over the weekend as I need the carbs for exercise on Sunday! Silken tofu is a good option to have in the cupboard, whizz it up in a blender and you can add it to meals instead of cream, or add it to smoothies.

InstantRegret · 16/02/2026 16:52

@Etherealcelestialbeing@CatNoBag thank you for the ideas! I’ll give some of them ago 🙂

Yes that's a good way of putting it, @CatNoBag - riding the wave. It's very odd!

Another odd thing for me today has been TERRIBLE nausea. I've had it very mildly at times before, but today I've been feeling actually sick for several hours. It's easing off a bit now but it was grim. No idea why... I thought maybe I hadn't eaten enough (had half my usual fruit/yoghurt/cereal bowl and didn't want lunch) so I had a sandwich... and then bleaurghhhh. Any suggestions from those who do get nausea? I bought peppermint tea and ginger tea when I first went on MJ but didn't think of it just then... actually couldn't stomach the thought of ingesting anything... (have done 4 weeks of 2.5mg and 2 weeks of 5mg so far - next jab Weds).
