February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

My weekly weigh in is on Wednesday but so far I'm 7.2kg down, having done 7 jabs to date. ( 4 X 2.5mg MJ and 3 X 5mg )

I was a bit disappointed to begin with as I thought at the start weight loss would be quicker. But I'm averaging 1kg/week loss so I'm happy with that.

I have another 50kg to lose, so I'm in this for the long haul!

TheEgg2 · 06/04/2026 22:25

First time micro-dosing for me. Just taken 24 clicks out of 5 mg pen to give me a 2 mg dose. I didn’t give it any thought (might be a mistake) and just counted the clicks, can’t even remember if I primed it, whoops. I’ve got the metallic taste in my mouth almost instantaneously so seems like I did it OK.
Hoping the dosage drop will stop the awful headaches.

RedApplePie · 07/04/2026 07:35

Crept in a bmi of 28 this morning. The next stone bracket (the 12s) is starting to feel tantalisingly within reach. I’m now ready to punch the next person who says it’s cheating though (no one has said it TO me as no one knows, but so many people seem to say it generally. Including my mother!). I’ve never worked so hard on my weight or body composition. All the medication seems to be doing is giving me headspace to DO the work. Which is no small feat, obviously, but it’s hardly gobbling up my excess weight for me.

RedApplePie · 07/04/2026 07:41

Hope that works better for you Egg. You really have persevered through some miserable times with it.

Cookiedough123 · 08/04/2026 10:25

Morning! I’ve not been following recently as it’s always chaos in the holidays! My weigh in this morning was 13st 4lbs. I’ve lost 24lbs in 8 weeks. I have been religiously good until this weekend when I have over indulged on Easter eggs! Just shows how in the background the food noise is always there. Once I start I just can’t stop. I’ve got 1st to lose and then I’m back to my pre pregnancy weight. I could probably lose more but I might have a break from the jabs to see if I can do it myself. I think I have 1 or 2 more doses left in my current pen including the golden dose.

Really Well Done @Cookiedough123 24lbs in 8 weeks is a brilliant loss!

@RedApplePie great to hear that you’ve got a BMI of 28 now, that’s just brilliant!

I have no scale victories here as I’ve yo-yo’d over the last two weeks. But, I also have NO HEADACHES 🙌! The 2mg dosage seems to have really worked for me. Suppression and food noise aren’t good but that’s a result for me. I did have two NSVs today too - I forgot to put my chub rub shorts on under my dress and 3 hours on I have no thigh chafing and I could wrap my dog lead round my waist. Enjoy the sunshine 🌞 everyone!

Nocameltoeleggingsplease · 08/04/2026 19:39

Had a bit of a victory today. It was lovely weather so I put on a dress. Last summer I couldn’t wear it without looking like a pig in a wig; today it looked fine! So while I’m still the same dress size, what I have now at least fits me better!
Little wins…..

Crossfitgirl · 08/04/2026 22:58

Well done on the good losses everyone, it seems like everyone has lost, even if it's not been a linear loss since SW!

@TheEgg2 yay for no headaches! Glad that's working for you! I'm also side effect free, but my suppression isn't very good either. I might try go up this weekend to 0.5...

@Nocameltoeleggingsplease aww that's a great little win! I bet it felt good!

I have not done very well with my getting more sleep goal. AT all. I think work stress is starting to ruin this for me, I've been working over a lot, and I really can't be arsed planning meals / prepping ahead when work is so full on and the kids are just batshit over Easter. I've needed my evening me time and I've really just not done well with going to sleep early to try and claw back some headspace when nobody needs me! Then there's a house full of bloody chocolate now, so I've definitely over indulged as well. I feel guilty and shit today. Period is also overdue now, so I'm hoping the sweet cravings will die down again once that's done with...

Why is it that even with bloody WLI I'm still seemingly not caring in the moment about eating the choccies? It's almost like it's not a choice - and I know that sounds absolutely ridiculous. I can absolutely choose not to eat. But I don't think I've ever learnt how to NOT give in to it when I do feel like it. Its fine when suppression is high after injecting. I don't WANT it! Euh.

I think I'm going to put all the chocolate out of sight or take it to work so I'm not tempted (it'll be gone in a day there!)

Week 8. Scales still at 14.2. Which given I had dinner out with friends and another night with a couple of cocktails and a cheese board is a good result. This isn’t going to work if I can’t live a normal life at the same time as changing my eating habits. So had one course at dinner instead of 2, had one round of cheese instead of 3!

Week 9. Scales still at 14.2 so no loss for a second week. Was feeling disappointed as clothes definitely feeling much looser so measured my waist, I’ve lost 5 inches since I started the jabs. Also managed to run 5k twice last week. So there are off the scales wins.

InstantRegret · 09/04/2026 10:14

2.5lb loss for me this week after STS last week which is a relief 😌 This also means that finally, after 10 jabs, I’ve now officially lost 1 whole stone! 🙌🏻

This is going to make me sound like a dick @Crossfitgirl but hey it’s an honest forum. The only way I can sometimes stop myself eating stuff is being a bit internally smug. So yesterday; DH and DD had a ‘chippy lunch’; I genuinely wasn’t hungry but probably would have gone halves with DH like he suggested and then been annoyed with myself later. Instead I just said ‘no I’m not hungry I’m ok’ and felt a bit of a lift (yeah, a bit smug) by saying it. Probably doesn’t paint me well but If I’d had one chip; I’d have had 10. I genuinely am an all or nothing person.

I actually love this. I do enjoy being smug around DH, because he is super smug himself normally so I shall now be smug every time I say no! X

That's an amazing loss on your waist! I haven't measured myself, as I can't seem to measure accurately (I could measure one after the other and get different numbers as I've moved it by an inch or it's on a slant or something).

Hopefully this can help others who have STS as a few seem to be. My scales haven't moved much for weeks now, but I've definitely noticed my jeans are looser.

@InstantRegret 1 stone - amazing! Well done! I bet that feels good! Have you noticed clothes fitting differently? X

OP posts:
InstantRegret · 09/04/2026 13:11

@Crossfitgirl I haven’t noticed much difference yet other than my stomach has deflated a little bit maybe.
To be fair I’m still not helping myself as I’ve not introduced any exercise yet. I need to get myself a walking pad for steps and find some YouTube workouts I can actually follow. I really need to work on my core!

I completely relate to your comment regarding chocolate. It is my absolute kryptonite! I was doing ok without it since starting MJ but for the last few weeks it has definitely crept back in with a vengeance 😳 I’m not hungry when I eat it, it’s more for comfort and routine I think.

soupmaker · 09/04/2026 17:43

@Crossfitgirl I measured 4 times as I didn’t really believe it the first twice. I’m an apple shape so my middle is where I need to lose all the inches. My size 18 high rise jeans now need a belt or they fall down.

Castlebark · 10/04/2026 08:06

Weigh in day after 8 weeks. 12.1kg down (1 stone 12), so really happy with the consistency. My BMI is now 40.6, down from 45.1.

I feel like I'm in a good rhythm, and I don't track food anymore. This will work until it doesn't, but it still feels more sustainable than any previous 'diet'.

I've been off with the kids a lot over these 2 weeks, so still haven't managed exploring any strength training. Hopefully this is something I can pick up when we're back into the normal routine.

TheEgg2 · 10/04/2026 10:18

@Castlebark Great weight loss, well done!

Not sure who mentioned measuring measuring yourself but I bought a Renpho body tape measure for thst purpose. It’s a combination of a DIY and sewing measuring tape and you then log it via an App. Haven’t used it yet, still lingering in my “gadgets I never use” drawer!
I’m struggling with return of food noise at 2 mg and succumbed to 4 glasses of wine this week🙁. However, I’m still not feeling hungry so no snacking and keeping to small portions. Started at 14 st 4 lbs and just a 1/4 lb into the 12 stones now that I’ve not seen in nearly 20 years, hurrah!

nightowlerine · 12/04/2026 20:50

Hi everyone, just checking in. Hope you have all had a good week. Happy to report I have lost just over a stone! Tomorrow will be jab 9 for me and I have decided to stay on 0.5mg for now as I am still losing and experiencing minimal side effects.

SW 13st 13.1lbs
CW 12st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lbs

Pinkchilli · 12/04/2026 23:14

Hi everyone great to hear everyone’s victories! Im quite stuck after 8 weeks 7lbs down. I got my first 0.5 WG pen but have a had quite a bad stomach all week so chickened out of the full increase and went for 0.35 as I really can’t feel like crap all week. Need a kick up the bum after a week off with kids and Easter eggs. Tomorrow is a new day I am 1lb away from being out of the obese bmi range!

Rosetime · 13/04/2026 00:17

@Pinkchilli , you may lose that 1lb this week! That will be a great milestone.

Congratulations @nightowlerine on losing just over a stone !!!! That's great!!

I haven't lost any weight in 4 weeks. But i have lost 1.5cm around my waist and 2cm around my hips.
I was in a minor accident where i injured my shoulder that underwent surgery a few weeks ago. It's done some damage. I have been in pain, on several strong meds for pain, eating more (s/e of two of the meds!), not moving much and just generally feeling rubbish. I decided to chat with ChatGPT and find out what questions it gets asked about weight loss. And then i told ChatGPT about my woes! ChatGPT assured me i would lose weight and my body is holding onto water... it listed out 7 reasons why.

So here's hoping ChatGPT is right.😄

RedApplePie · 13/04/2026 08:08

I’m fed up. I’ve been losing and gaining the same two pounds for three weeks now. At this rate I’ll be lucky at my next review to have any loss at all. I know GLP1s are about the changes to metabolic health as well, but weight is the visible metric that confronts us daily, the rest is possibly more important but not visible. I’m certain I have no calories creep, I log every damn mouthful, I’m exercising regularly and I’m ready to punch my husband in the face if he mentions the Law of Thermodynamics ONE more time. And breathe…

RedApplePie · 13/04/2026 11:17

Obviously I would never punch my husband (or anyone else for that matter!) but honestly the phrase ‘it’s just physics’ from just about anyone who has never struggled with their weight is driving me nuts.

TheEgg2 · 13/04/2026 11:22

@RedApplePie well, my biology lecturing no partner reckons “a lot of it is physics but a fair amount is hormonal”. Apparently if you google “hypothalmus appetite regulation” and you’ll see hormones like grhelin, insulin and the like. It’s actually not physics but biochemistry at work! 🤣
