February 2026 starters

Crossfitgirl · 30/01/2026 12:00

Hi all, I have my first pen on the way and as far as I can see there is no starter thread for Feb, so I hope it's ok to make one.
All welcome whether recently started or looking to start this month - I think by the time mine arrives it will probably be February!
Hoping for support, experiences, recommendations, more support and the rest!

I am nearly 40, 2 young kids and full time job, starting on wegovy, with the goal of lowering my cholesterol (and reducing my huge belly).

I've just weighed myself post-nightshift, why would I do that to myself? 3lb of nightshift bloat! Luckily I know my body and I know that's what nightshift does to me.

TheEgg2 · 14/03/2026 09:19

Happy Sunny Saturday! Really lovely to wake up to some sunshine for a change.
It’s Day 7 for me so I’m almost side-effect free (albeit freezing hands and feet and constipated). Not planning on injecting until Day 8 or 9 and changing injection site location so not near my HRT patch although there’s no research to suggest it’s an issue.
My weight loss has been hilarious so far - my engagement ring has fallen off, my collar bone is very pronounced, my wrists have shrunk and my bras are getting baggier! Only positive is that my tankini top now actually joins the bottom bikini bit! I’m trying to find it funny, honestly, but I’ve got an arse that would suit three whole Kardashians and thighs of thunder with cellulite on my calves. I’m not at all impressed with my silly body!

TheEgg2 · 14/03/2026 09:21

@aredrosegrewupI can be 2-3 lbs heavier at the end of a day where you are at the end of your “hard day’s night”…..have a good rest and then weigh when you wake up. You’re still losing overall and that’s the important thing!

Castlebark · 14/03/2026 11:29

It was weigh in day yesterday. Only 0.8kg down for week 4, but annoyingly I'm another 0.6kg down overnight, so at least my next (official) weigh in should be good!

That makes 6.8kg down for the first 4 weeks, which is over a stone. I've still got a loooooong way to go, so I'm hoping to maintain a kilo a week.

Like @Diddlydoowap and @TheEgg2, the only real side effect is feeling so cold. I've taken to wearing a vest under my normal tops.

I have fallen into a few lazy food habits. Relying on quick meals like scrambled eggs or avocado on toast, rather than cooking proper meals. And when I do cook, it's normally poached chicken and veg, which the kids are getting a bit sick of! I am hitting my protein and calorie goals, but I'd like to find the motivation to start doing proper menu planning, to get some good habits in place.

RedApplePie · 14/03/2026 18:34

week 7 jab of 2.5 done on Friday and I’m ramping up to the usual crap Sunday. Feeling very nauseated and have only managed about 400 cals today - all simple carbs sadly as everything else making me want to 🤮. If it follows its usual pattern I’ll be bright and breezy from Monday. I’d really hoped I’d grow out of this phase though.

Nothing wrong with quick meals! If you're hitting your protein etc and it's working, don't worry about making things a bit easier!
I know what you mean though, I am so bored of chicken but I just can't be arsed to think of much more exciting. I've tried a few new things - some stuff with ingredients I don't use much like chickpeas, feta, lentils etc but the faf of cooking new meals does take its toll when I'm already ridiculously busy!

@RedApplePie hope Sunday isn't too bad, at least if it's a bit of a pattern you can plan for it accordingly but rubbish all the same when you feel crap.

Is anybody doing anything nice for mother's day?

I have jab 7 tonight and I'm going to inject the remainder of my first pen that I kept as well (Voy sent a couple of spare needles) to slightly increase the dose, and as next week will be my last dose of the current pen I will do the same with that one.
Does anyone know if I can inject the final 0.25, then twist the pen again as far as it will go and release again to deliver the "golden dose" while the needle is still in? If that makes sense!

I'm hoping this will step me up to maybe like 0.3 or something for a couple of weeks, so that when I step up to 0.5 for my next pen it's not such a big increase?

By the way I'm on wegovy not MJ so I don't think there will be much left in it at all x

Haven’t caught up for a few days as have been away. I did my golden dose on Friday. @Crossfitgirl i had to use pliers to twist the pen to get it to move. I couldn’t do it with my hand so couldn’t of left it in whilst using pliers to twist it!

I haven’t weighed for a couple of days so my next weigh will be on Tuesday morning! Hoping I’ve lost and not gained whilst we’ve been away. I have been skipping breakfast and trying to only have one meal out but as we know pub meals are so full of calories. My partner would quite happily eat out 3x a day every day for a week if I let him!

I’m planning to up my dose to 5 this week. I’ve had brilliant results with the 2.5 pen but the suppression is not great.

@TheEgg2 love your non scale victories!! My main one is I have gone from 3 chins to 2! 😂
@Castlebark well done on your 1st loss! Glad you converted it from kg as I have no idea how many kg = st!

I did that at the end of my first pen, and I calculated that I got .31 from the two doses.

I suspect that you should technically use a new needle, but I reasoned that I was sticking it into the same person, so it didn't matter.

I plan to do the same at the end of my .5 pen, IF I decide to go up after that one.

Nocameltoeleggingsplease · 15/03/2026 13:03

3rd weigh in and I’ve lost 9lb in 3 weeks; although a bigger chunk in week 1. I guess that’s ok; obviously I wanted to lose all the weight immediately but it doesn’t work that way does it! (Peter Kay’s ‘14 stone in a day’ comes to mind! 😂)

Crossfitgirl · 15/03/2026 15:32

Starting week 7 and in total I have lost 3.8kg or just a tiny bit over half a stone. So although it's quite slow and steady, it's definitely going down! I have also taken another photo and I can actually see the difference in my tummy! Very subtle but it's there. It feels quite motivating.

I haven't actually gained weight this week which I'm really bloody pleased about!! Looking forward to the next month and really giving it my all with food and exercise to get down even further.

I did twist the pen as far as it would go and just got a few more clicks out of it, so I'm hoping it's a bit of a bridge dose up before I move up to 0.5.
I've not planned food very well for next week, so I'm hoping the extra bit will give me a bit of a boost with appetite suppression.

You've lost more than I've lost in total over my full 6 weeks, so that's good going!! Well done!

Thank you that’s kind of you to reply. I’ve not told anyone I’m doing this so it can feel quite lonely really.
Good luck for next week

Perserverancepayoffplease · 15/03/2026 18:27

Weighed in this morning and I've lost another 4lbs which is only 1lb off my stone! Really pleased!

I have told, quite literally, no one. I get mine from a local independent pharmacy, partly to avoid parcels being delivered, partly as I wanted some in-person support, so I do know what you mean. As far as everyone else is concerned, I’m just on yet another diet. Having said that, I’m trying very hard not to make a song and dance about eating at all, just quietly eating less with no discussion around being good/dieting etc etc.

Nocameltoeleggingsplease · 15/03/2026 21:00

Same here. I get it delivered to work. I’m using it to help me stick to Slimfast which I know works for me but I haven’t had the willpower to stick to it for years. It has definitely helped with that. I’m planning on doing two months on 2.5 then coming off and continuing with slim fast, having proven to myself that I won’t die of hunger doing it. That’s what I’m hoping anyway. An added bonus is I was already going off alcohol due to perimenopause but this has put the icing on the cake; seems to taste vile now. So saving on wine calories too!

Wambamaloomaawambamboo · 16/03/2026 08:51

Good morning all. I think I may need to give up on MJ and its breaking my heart 😢 I have gastritis and I don't know if the mj is bringing it on or not but im constantly in agony and its just not worth it. I think im destined to be chubby for life

Fullofpudding · 16/03/2026 08:54

I’m now 18lbs down since starting about 6 weeks ago. Not a single symptom apart from being very thirsty.

Notellinganyone · 16/03/2026 09:30

@Wambamaloomaawambamboo I’m really sorry to hear that. Must be tough. I’ve definitely found that even the 2.5 wipes me out for the weekend and it all feels a bit grim but my symptoms are quite low level. Maybe the tablet form when it appears will be gentler and suit you better.

Oh no, you poor thing. Is that the advice of your provider - is there nothing that can be done with regard to symptom management? If not is it worth letting it settle then trying wegovy? Feeling constantly ill obviously isn’t worth it though.

RedApplePie · 16/03/2026 10:08

nocameltoeleggingsplease. Getting it delivered to work was my plan A then they suddenly announced that we could no longer use our workplace as a delivery point for ‘parcels of a personal nature’. Everyone convinced they specifically mean GLP1s as ASOS parcels sitting around doesn’t seem to bother them!

The doctor has given me Lanzoprazole, it helps a bit but not totally.
I haven't spoken with my providor to be honest, I think I just need to listen to my body and eliminate what i think the issue is and take it from there

TheEgg2 · 16/03/2026 13:10

@Wambamaloomaawambamboo oh no, poor you. My partner takes the same meds to settle his stomach and says it works, think you need to give it a couple of days. I’m struggling too with awful side effects. This week I have gone 8 days between jabs and then planning 9 days and have moved to jabbing in my thigh just in case there’s any association with where I wear my HRT patch! I’m 3 hours post-jab and my stomach is churning and my head is banging and I’m freezing cold, grrh! I’m planning next month to drop to 1.5 or 2 mgs but I’m not going to give up. I’ve lost 13.5lbs in 6 weeks and I’m 25% of my way there, I’m hoping that upping my water and fibre together with a lot of over the counter medications. Im in a “no pain, no gain” mode and going to battle on through as I might be “lucky” in that I keep on losing on 1.5-2.5 mg and it’ll be cheaper, got to take the positives where you can!

TheEgg2 · 16/03/2026 13:12

@Cookiedough123 hurrah to the chin loss 🙌

RedApplePie · 16/03/2026 14:07

Put my jeans on this morning and they are uncomfortably big, to the extent they’ve given me a bit of a rash along the seam-lines where they’ve been moving too much. Last wore them 6 weeks ago and they were so tight I couldn’t wait to get them off. Do not worry - I have an entire wardrobe at the two sizes below my current one 🙄
