My weight loss has ground to a halt since I started exercising. Probably something to do with taking muscles from 0 to just about mobile.

I have seen something on here, can't remember which thread, about an increase in exercise causing a slow down in weight loss, something to do with inflammation/water retention/hormones, sorry I can't remember the details, but it definitely made sense to me at the time as I also noticed a slow down when I first increased my activity.

PearlTeapot · 22/01/2026 12:16

I could never IF/OMAD as I'm still always hungry for my 3 meals. I could skip breakfast but I did it for a few weeks and it made no difference to my rate of weight loss so I don't bother. I just stick to my 1200 calories, and that works for me, with calorie cycling (eating more at the weekend and whatever I like on a Sunday).

I KNOW it seems magic that a few drops of a medicine can have such an impact- I couldn't believe it at first either.

PearlTeapot · 22/01/2026 12:16

@PositiveAttitude hope you feel better, sounds rotten.

Thank you, that makes sense to me. I'm not really worried by it. At the end of the day I want to be healthy and able to run around after DGCs.

NSV INCOMING!

My under bust is now 36”! It was 42”-44”. I have about a million beautiful bras, all now back in play. As a lingerie addict I cannot tell you how much pleasure this gives me!

I share your joy! My band size has gone down from a 48 to a 38, and from a GG to and F - I can shop in M&S!!!

I’ve been intermittent fasting for as long as I can remember @recruitretain, I do the 5:2 fasting which means I have 2 very low calorie meals 2 days a week, usually Mondays and Thursdays. I managed to lose about 3 or 4 stones before starting mounjaro by doing this but fell off the wagon and gained it all back, started again and lost a couple of stones but gradually started to overeat on the days before fasting to overcompensate for the lack of food, this resulted in me only managing to maintain my weight, that’s when I gave mounjaro a go and never looked back.
I still fast and I honestly think this is why I have consistently lost and I’m planning to continue when I go onto ‘maintenance’.
its not for everyone I know, but for me it’s great!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 22/01/2026 18:40

@PositiveAttitude I don’t think you’ll get many signing up to your new plan… you poor thing, sounds brutal, hope you’re feeling better now 💐

@MCR24 yay!!!! Welcome to the ‘normal’ club! How surreal does it feel??? Massive congrats 🌸

@TragicMuse @eibbed999 congrats on the underband success! Shopping for bras is such an unexpected luxury now, I did recently try the boob or bust measurements and bought a couple of bras in their suggested size of 32 G. Good job they were cheap! I couldn’t squeeze my spaniel ears in the cups, I was escaping from every angle 😂
I’m comfy in both 32 or 34 GG, just wish I could reduce the cup size, it’s mostly saggy skin now though….

Billybingbong · 22/01/2026 18:50

Ooh yes, they bra thing. My last proper 'sized' bra was a very tight 52D, but I gave up on that and have been living in size 6 Snag bras for the last few years. I did the Bra that Fits measurements a few weeks ago, and am now in size 38E. Its amazing how a decent bra changes your shape. My middle aged deflated balloons suddenly look quite perky again 😳

OvertiredandConfused · 22/01/2026 18:57

I found you all :-)

Somehow missed the new thread. Thank you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne.

Sorry not to respond individually to lots of the post but I hear you, and know this is my tribe.

Sunday will be my 52nd jab. In that year I've lost 7st 7lbs, averaging 2lbs per week. My BMI has gone from 45 to 29.5. Clothes have gone from a size 22 to an 18 (almost a 16) on the bottom and 14-16 on top. I look normal. I'm often not the biggest person in the room. I can shop in high street stores. But I still order clothes that are too big and end up returning 80% of what I buy. It feels temporary and I don't recognise myself in the mirror!

When I started, my goal was to be able to easily wear a size 16 and I said I'd reassess then. I knew this would be a long-term medication and one of the reasons I chose Mounjaro was that it was approved for maintenance - I checked that my provider would support that.

I still haven't solved the eating properly in the evening problem. Other medication means I can't eat between 1630 and 1930. If I want to eat with DH, it often turns into 2030 which is too late for me. If I eat earlier, it has to be a (as healthy as I can get) ready meal as my disability means I can't prepare proper food. At the moment, the suppression is good enough that I can wait easily and often skip supper because it's too late and I'm not hungry. But that won't work once I'm on a lower dose to maintain. Really want to find a solution in the next couple of months before I try reducing my dose.

PearlTeapot · 22/01/2026 21:33

Happy mj-versary, @OvertiredandConfused what an amazing loss.

I’ll see what my loss is like over next few months but I’m thinking fasting might help me when I hopefully get to wean off one day

I have a great bra from Victoria's Secret that makes my boobs look amazing! The only problem is when I take it off, I feel even worse as they roll down towards my knees - I could be sued under the Trade Descriptions Act!

This has just reminded me that I used to love the T-shirt bras from Victoria’s Secret but I haven’t been able to wear them for years. Maybe I should be brave and give them a go again

plucked up the courage to weigh in on my digital app scales

astounded

first jab was Tuesday and first weigh in today

GnomeDePlume · 23/01/2026 09:14

@recruitretain good start!

Your experience of mounjaro will be unique to you. But you will find a wealth of experience on this thread. From side effect management and sympathy to celebrating NSVs.

On NSVs (Non Scale Victories), everyone focuses on the numbers to start with but in the end it's the NSVs which keep us all going. The first time (or first time in a long time) you do, wear, go something/somewhere. These can start quite quickly so look out for them and celebrate them.

SilenceInside · 23/01/2026 09:14

Week 81 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)

Last Week: 74kg (11st 9lbs)
Current: 72.6kg (11st 6lbs) -3lbs from last week.
Current BMI: 26.4

Goal: 65kg (10st 3lbs)

Glad to see the numbers heading in the right direction this week, although I am still a little way off my previous low of 71.1kg/11st 2lbs. The important thing though is that I now feel fully "back to normal" after the Christmas wobble. My current focus is on increasing my daily exercise, every day, so always being 10,000 steps or more and running at least 3 times a week, consistently.

GnomeDePlume · 23/01/2026 09:55

Excellent statistics there @SilenceInside . I think the Christmas disruption to normal order takes a while to subside.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 23/01/2026 10:11

Those of you who've lost lots, can I ask, has your skin rebounded or is it very saggy. I don't know why but at 53 I'm wasting too much head space on being left with massive bingo wings.

GnomeDePlume · 23/01/2026 10:31

@MrTiddlesTheCat I'm 59, lost a bit over 6 stones so far with another 5-6 stones to go.

I'm finding it a mixed bag. My previous massive double chin has gone leaving behind loose skin which is more turkey in appearance. I dont seem to have too much in the way of bingo wings. Legs, when in leggings, dont look too bad.

Generally what I am finding is that I am looking my age. Having been so overweight I filled up my skin so there wasnt room for wrinkles. Now I have spare skin the wrinkles have arrived.

What do I care? If all goes well I'm going to become a granny this year. Wrinkles are obligatory for that job.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 23/01/2026 12:48

@MrTiddlesTheCat l’ve lost 9 stone on Mounjaro, roughly 11 stone overall and I’m 58. The first thing to sag was my neck, but that has evened itself out now and looks ok. Above my knees, thighs, tops of my arms, stomach and boobs are all saggy. I work hard moisturising everything morning and evening but to be honest, I’ve learnt not to really care about it now. I’ve said in the past that I don’t need to learn to love it, just not to hate it and I think I’m there. I use resistance bands and Pilates to help tone.

It’s easy to hide, I bought a compression vest thing which is brilliant. I’ve read somewhere that it can take a couple of years for your skin to settle and I’m happy to wait and see.

I think I gave it too much headspace too in the early days, but now - nah!
