For those who have been doing this a while, how do you feel about weighing yourself regularly?

At moment I’m having a peek almost daily, more out of interest and to be ‘aware’ of where I am. But I am highly motivated at mo.

As time goes on I wonder if checking weight will end up being a reason to drift, especially if results aren’t at a pace that I am hoping for?

But then I’m a data geek so do like the numbers.

🤷🏻

I'm a daily weigher , because I'm trying to set myself up for good habits in maintenance
I'd love to be the kind of person who could trust themselves and their body to know what they need to eat to keep the weight the same
But experience has taught me ,that's not me .
By weighing daily ,it becomes normal ,it removes the anxiety of a weekly weigh in
And it means I can nip any small gains in the bud immediately
But it's not for everyone
And when I was at my biggest I never weighed myself, because of the anxiety it caused me .so I totally get people who don't weigh daily ,as I used to be the same

Has anyone tried intermittent fasting on MJ ?

Hi everyone.
I keep loosing and refinding this thread, but I have been about over a year now .

start weight 315 lb /bmi 51
current weight 224lb/ bmi 37

Best thing is my husband can now lift me up , and I fit into a blackly hoodie 😊 I’m sure there are better things but they stand out to me !

im hoping for a nice steady 1lb a week this year, which should bring me close to a goal

main worry is long term use - cost mainly. I’m very aware of the massive cost that a 15mg pen is (In fact it’s getting close to the largest bill we have )

hopeful that the whispers of a long term maintenance tablet is coming soon are true .

Hi did the lower doses not work

so impressed with your loss

I only started Tuesday on 2.5mg and all my food noise gone, it’s Thursday and I haven’t been in the fridge or kids snack cupboard since Monday … yesterday at work first time in years no sneaky treat I genuinely have no urge or hunger at all

so much so this morning I woke up and really feel full and don’t want to eat .. I will eat

but I’m only on 2.5mg ??? Surly a man of 337kg SW cannot find such a small dose effective ??

PositiveAttitude · 22/01/2026 07:14

Hi everyone.

I have discovered a weight loss plan that is far cheaper than MJ with amazing results!!!
I have been ill for 3 days and have lost 9 lb!!! I have been sweating buckets and no food has stayed inside me and I have felt terrible. Not an advisable alternative really!! 🙄
I feel human again today. But as weak as a day old kitten. I know I need to get food inside me to aid recovery now.

GnomeDePlume · 22/01/2026 07:32

Weigh in and jab yesterday.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 97kg BMI 38
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

15 stone 4lbs in old money.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 22/01/2026 07:35

NSV today - much of my usual running route was flooded so I had to divert and do a shorter route. I decided to make the most of it by pushing myself harder than usual. Usually I run around 9:30-10:00 per km so I was aiming for under 9:30 for my last full km before starting my cool down walk - I couldn't believe it when I'd actually managed 8:48!!!

I believe that those people on the planet who are thin need the fat people to remain fat.

The thin people can't feel superior otherwise.

Hello! Hope you don’t mind me popping on here. I have 5.5 stone to lose. And I agree with this statement so much, in fact my best friend said to me but I don’t want you to change ‘nondrinker1985’ I will miss the old you. So she needs me to stay fat is what I heard.

I didn't have any suppression till, 10mg and women's bodies are different men's. Been on 15mg for over a year now and lise about 1 to 2 pound a month. Glad you're having early results, but it's a marathon, not a sprint

PositiveAttitude · 22/01/2026 08:27

Has anyone tried intermittent fasting on MJ ?

Yes, I do it all the time.
My eating window is only two hours most of the time these days.

I'm basically doing OMAD.

I have to exercise first thing or there's no way I'd do it - once I'm home from work I'm straight into my pyjamas! On work days I get up around 6.30, have a quick wash (teeth and face) then either go for a run or a swim. If I'm not working it's a bit later, but still the first thing I do after getting up, or maybe after dropping my daughter to school.

Not 'officially' but I do find that I'm having breakfast a lot less often, especially on work days, I kind of just don't get around to it and then it's lunchtime. But if I want breakfast I'll have it, I'm trying to listen to my body more rather than having strict rules about what/when I can/can't eat.

OMAD ?

Billybingbong · 22/01/2026 08:56

OMAD - one meal a day. That's kind of become my natural eating pattern now. I have a coffee first thing, then usually just water or clear whey protein drinks throughout the day, and my meal at night. It wasn't a conscious choice, I just fell into it. Although I am trying to make more effort with the protein now, so am having a light snack at lunchtime as well. So you could say I'm doing a mix of OMAD and IF.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/01/2026 09:01

......but I’m only on 2.5mg ??? Surely a man of 337kg SW cannot find such a small dose effective?

I'm lost.

Do you think that women of 337kg are more likely than men to respond to that dose, @recruitretain?

OP posts:
MCR24 · 22/01/2026 09:13

Btw I'm LDS1 with a name change.

I'm doing one meal a day too (mostly).

Weigh in today lost a tiny bit since last week but it was just enough!. 0.3kg / 10.6 oz

SW: 142.8kg / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.1 oz
CW: 69.9kg / 11 stone, 0 lb and 1.6 oz. So close to the 10s, hopefully next week!
Total loss: 72.9kg / 11 stone, 6 lb and 11.5 oz
To get to target: 9.9kg / 1 stone, 7 lb and 13.2 oz

BMI see picture 😁

Intermittent fasting is absolutely incredible and if you watch some YouTube videos of jason fung (nephrologist consultant) he talks a lot about it from a scientific perspective and how it's managed to reverse his patient's diabetes, High blood pressure etc.

He said that the calories in and calories out model only takes you so far, which is why many struggle to lose weight despite not eating much and why your body is storing 300,000 calories as fat but you can't access it. But this is proper fasting - ie no sugar spikes, no milk in coffee, no protein drinks etc. Because its not about not eating its about keeping insulin low and not breaking the fast.

I do fasting for 3-4 days in the week when I have high enough suppression and I only eat within a 4 hour window (water and black coffee the rest of the time) and my weightloss is actually increasing as I get to goal because my body is carving through the fat stores so efficiently now.

Edited

@recruitretain dosage of GLP1s doesn't depend on bodyweight - how your system responds to it is very individual. I was 306 pounds when I started, so not too far off your 337lbs, and I had the full effects as you describe from day 1 of my first injection. I have seen people on threads in the WLI section with very much lower starting weights, who are only just into the obese category, who haven't really had any effect from the whole 4 weeks on 2.5mg.

Everybody reacts very differently to MJ it seems. Some people get great suppression early on, others have to find it as they go up the doses. Everyone is individual and will have a very different experience. Personally, I had amazing suppression on 2.5mg for maybe four months - I couldn't believe it was so easy! But then it was like my body adapted to it, and I ended up going through the higher doses fairly quickly, chasing the suppression dragon - I'm now somewhere between 10mg and 12mg, with the occasional later-in-the-week top up, and that is working for now. But as has been said, this is very much a marathon not a sprint - despite huge early suppression and quick loss to start with, overall I have lost less and more slowly than others on this thread. That's okay - that's how it is for me, and the only person I can actually be is me! I'm in this for the long haul, as we all are here.

GnomeDePlume · 22/01/2026 10:44

Just had my diabetes check up and got a 'well done' from the nurse. This is the first time seeing anyone in person since being put on mounjaro 14 months ago.

Weight down about six stone but also BP down from 140/80 to about 95/65 (my natural BP is more of a gravity fed system).

It was nice to be able to say I do eat healthily, I drink in moderation, I exercise regularly. I'm an example for healthy living!

Just got to shift another 5-6 stones!.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 22/01/2026 11:27

I have been trying intermittent fasting as part of trying to change things up a bit this month. It’s not something I could ever have contemplated off Mounjaro, I used to get really hangry if I was later than 12pm for my lunch or any delayed meals really. I found I was naturally doing about 14:10 since on the Mounjaro so am trying to push it a bit more to 16:8. Going ok so far, am being led by how I feel and not doing that every day.

i also weigh daily, I tend to catatrophise if I don’t know what the situation is and assume I’ve put loads on. I am fine with the fluctuations and feel more in control this way.

Today I hit 25% of my starting weight gone, it’s taken me 8 months so really pleased with that. I have the same again to go to get to 25 BMI but must have already helped myself hugely health wise.

GlowGetter · 22/01/2026 11:32

My weight loss has slowed, too BUT I think it's because I'm not being as careful as I was at the start. I've gone back to really watching what I eat and cutting out my lunch as much as possible so 2 meals a day. First meal is 'breakfast' around 10:30pm then a babybel and some mackerel or soup around 14:30 if I am hungry (otherwise nothing) and a small, low carb, evning meal with lots of veggies.
