Thanks for the feedback my fellow turkey neck crew! I was on Teams calls most of the day today and couldn’t stop noticing it… that camera is so unforgiving. I’ll keep slathering the neck cream morning and night, fingers crossed that time will fix it.

I'm going to start doing it. I'm also going to seeif it makes a difference to my bingo wings.

I'm going to start doing it. I'm also going to seeif it makes a difference to my bingo wings.

I've always moisturised my face and neck twice a day, since I was a teenager.

I think it's paid dividends, as people often tell me I've got lovely skin.

I do see the effect in my neck of losing nearly ten stone - but I'm not bothered. It's got to be better for me to be a normal weight now, so I accept the neck, which isn't too bad really.

I sent my DD that picture of me taken yesterday, and she was incredulous that I was still overweight, according to the BMI chart. She hasn't seen me since July.

Oh, and my bingo wings have gradually improved and are not noticeable now, so there's hope for you all.

Mine looks like a cat's arse rather than a turkey neck, si it could be worse

Edited

I've always done my face too, but not my neck for some reason.

Hope you get some answers soon @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne - sounds like he might need a brain scan to find out what's going on, and hopefully plan a course of action. The distance must make it so much harder to deal with for you all.

Turkey neck is upsetting if you focus on it isn't it - I'm 56 and have never been good at skincare or beauty, I'm not very girly and have never been interested. But now I find myself obsessed with it! Only a matter of time before they start specialising in Botox for the neck I'm sure - there'll be a whole new 'aesthetics' industry built around people on WLI! It's one of those things we notice far more ourselves I suspect - I always find it really disappointing when I think I look nice, dressed up for a night out or whatever, and then I see a photo and my eyes immediately go to my horrible saggy stringy neck! What's the led vibrating thing @Iwouldratherbesinging?

Iwouldratherbesinging · 06/02/2026 10:01

Oooh huge link! Sorry

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 06/02/2026 12:02

I have discovered diosmin and hesperidin.

It actually seems to be working. It's supposed to improve lymphatic drainage in the legs. Mind you, I've also just found out that it partially comes from grapefruit, so I'm waiting for the doctor to phone me as I'm on statins.

@user593 yes please do! I’m a Caroline Hirons fan and although it’s not everyone’s bag I know, do have a 6 step skincare routine cycling actives morning and night.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I hope your friends and family in real life tell you how bloody hilarious you are! You are quite the woman, what a fool your husband is.

I have a weigh in victory to share if I may? I’ve actually hit the 10 stone lost today. When I first started following this thread a year ago in the weeks before starting MJ it just seemed an impossible amount of weight to lose. I’d given up on myself as it felt insurmountable. Posters here have inspired me every step of the way though with a BMI down to 31.2 from 52.6. I’m fairly tall at 5’8 so still 2st 13 to get to that elusive ‘healthy’ BMI and another 11lbs on top to get to my final goal of 10st 13 but I know I’ll get there even if this next bit is slow. I’ve not been under 13st something since I was in my early teens, if not before.

In celebration I’m going to see Rocky Horror at the theatre tonight and dressing up! I’d not have even considered going a year ago because the seats in the theatre are ‘small’ (they aren’t, I was just very large) let alone go in French Maid fancy dress!

UsernameShmusername2024 · 06/02/2026 13:18

Amazing loss, congratulations @Onenotsosmallstep!! And what a brilliant way to celebrate!

I had my week 51 weigh in this morning - lost 4lb (after a small gain last week) and am now 2.5lbs off having lost 9 stone since starting. I would love to get to that loss next week for my anniversary weigh in but feels unlikely this week as I'm away with work for 2 days which will include every meal out. Not stressing about that though, just being that close to a 9st loss in 12 months is incredible and felt impossible this time last year. Will still have another 5st to lose to be a healthy BMI which makes me feel terrible if I'm honest BUT at least for the first time in my life that feels possible!

Have a great weekend folks 😀

FattyBumBumNoMore · 06/02/2026 13:30

I’m no longer a teen!! Wahoo 🎉

That’s over a 5 stone loss for me and I’m hoping to reach 9 stone (essentially half the woman I was a year ago). I swear though that the remaining 4 st is all in my thighs and belly. I have proper chunks sitting above my knees and my belly fat is starting to droop now. Obviously I’ll never be lithe and taut in my 50s but I do hope things sort of become less obviously bulky.

TragicMuse · 06/02/2026 13:35

My WI is tomorrow and I am a whisper away from the 12s. I want to be there! Probably won’t till next week now but dammit, so close!!

eibbed999 · 06/02/2026 14:14

Huge congrats @Onenotsosmallstep - that's fantastic! Enjoy your time with the creature of the night!

SilenceInside · 06/02/2026 14:18

@Onenotsosmallstep sounding the 10st klaxon for you 🎉🍾 Enjoy the Rocky Horror show tonight - what a brilliant way to celebrate!

PearlTeapot · 06/02/2026 14:54

@Onenotsosmallstep wooohoooo hurrrah for you and your loss! Ten stone is phenomenal and what a great way to celebrate. Have the best time, sing and dance your heart out!

@UsernameShmusername2024 amazing on the almost 9 stone, well done you!! Eating out is tough but just remember to enjoy your food and control what you can.

I have an NSV

The last couple of nights I've been cold so I've thrown on a random hoodie that was lying around, turns out it wasn't one of mine and it was a small!

I am so tired of being permanently cold.

Mind you, I'm very happy with my heated throw.

Have you all got them? If you have, have you washed them? I've read so much about them stopping working once they've been through a machine.

TragicMuse · 06/02/2026 18:30

My hot blanket is my joy! I haven’t washed it yet but it is supposed to be washable so I reckon I’d be asking for my money back if it didn’t work afterwards.

TragicMuse · 06/02/2026 18:31

Love that NSV @MCR24

UsernameShmusername2024 · 06/02/2026 19:36

I couldn't have survived the last 12 months without my heated throw. Even throughout summer I used it loads - being cold has been my main side effect which I'll take. But no, I haven't washed it @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne . I generally have another blanket on top of it and it's a dark colour so I don't think I'll attempt it for a while as couldn't be without it!

PearlTeapot · 06/02/2026 20:02

I wash and tumble dry my Dreamland heated throw all the time as we have dogs. It's survived 3 years of heavy work! It's now just died according to DW so she ordered me a new one. This one. 2 days and I'll be home and I'll be snuggling under it on Monday!

Oh Pearl that's so exciting!
Two days.
