Oh, and I found out today that being on WLI does not prevent you from being a blood donor, which I’m really pleased about. It was one of the things that put me off starting the jabs, as I assumed I would not be able to donate. I have an RO subtype which is rare and I know demand is high, so I’m pleased they can still take donations from me.

Snap and snap! I have the same subtype and checked this week and it said donating on WLI is fine.

To the poster disheartened (or any poster) about not loosing enough, while others are loosing the same kilos as a small animal weighs, don't fret.

Its all very individual. Our bodies are individual. Our minds are too. It's not a race on here (and shouldn't be). The best way to lose weight is slowly, it's better for your body and it takes longer to put back on.

Youve got this. So don't fret.

Its a marathon journey, not a sprint to a finishing line of perfect weightness.

Hello! I bit the bullet and ordered my first batch of Mounjaro!

It was meant to arrived today but Royal Mail…

Nervous about side effects but cannot wait to start. Next week I will have more to update on how the first jab went.

Stats:

5ft 8

CW: 17st 13 (😱😭)
GW 10st (not my slimmest but will be happy at that.)

Edited

Welcome! I’m 5ft 7 and was a size 10 and pretty skinny at 11.5 stone so can’t imagine being 10 stone, it’s interesting how we all hold weight differently

I may get to 11 stone and feel fine. My smallest weight as an adult (all my 20s) was 9 stone. I felt my legs looked better at 9.5 stone and given now older my target is 10 stone. But will see what happens. I am a natural apple so always looked and felt better slimmer as the slightest bit of excess weight has people offering me their seat on public transport!

I have lots of mini goals to focus on first - so that’s a 2 years time thought!

My first goal is 16 stone.

Funnily at 11.5 stone I was a comfortable size 12.

FrothyCothy · 21/01/2026 19:19

Well said @goldylock. Comparison is the thief of joy and all that, and many of us are going to be in this for the long haul. Think where we’ll be this time next year, not where we are now!

blackandwhitefluffycat · 21/01/2026 19:27

Yes, we all carry weight very differently. I’m 5’6” and was 8.10 during my twenties (I previously said 9.10 in error, but it was 8.10). I’m very pear shaped and wasn’t a size 10 on my bottom half even then - I have massive hip bones. I seem to be able to get away with being a bit overweight because my upper body (arms and chest) stays slim even when I’m overweight, but the weight going on my bottom half makes me look very out of proportion.

mendandmakedo · 21/01/2026 19:32

Well, I am so hungry, feel ravenous.. Day 5 today after second jab. Its the hungrily that I have felt. I have had 1200 calories today. I am short. It feels like I haven't had any of my second dose. But I know I have as I did have higher suppression again on day 1 and 2. But it is much less than week 1. Its taking all my will power not to eat anything else! I wonder if it's my really quick loss catching up with me. Has anyone else experienced this?

bookwormcrazy · 21/01/2026 20:23

I personally think 12lb is two weeks is amazing!
I've lost 4lb in those same two weeks
But also don't deprive yourself of anything, if you fancy some alcohol just have some. I think mj changes people's taste for alcohol so you might even find a couple of sips takes away the cravings or you have had enough after one glass

This is how I feel. Normally I could easily polish off a bottle of red in one go. Last weekend I found I only needed a glass. Still got the same bottle on the go and enjoying a glass tonight.

MJstarterbefore40 · 21/01/2026 21:02

If anybody is interested in some nice M&S bits there's 25% off and free delivery from Ocado for new customers right now. Just ordered some good stuff (and a bottle of red for the weekend!)

MJ2026 · 21/01/2026 21:04

Little update I did my 3rd jab today. Jabbed in the left side of my stomach I had done the right the last two weeks. It was like whoosh! Almost instantly I felt the suppression. I was comfortably able to eat around 1,200 cals according to the nutra check. But couldn’t force anymore. (Really fancied a bit if
choc!) This level of suppression is perfect for me. Hopefully it will last the whole week. If it does I’ll have second thoughts about moving up to the 5mg for my next dose. I’ll monitor Monday & Tuesday as those days were awful this week with the food noise. My will power was properly being tested. Im only weighing monthly but my clothes are definitely looser so hopefully it’s all going in the right direction. I hope everyone has a great week and the side effects are manageable.

Me too. I'm 5'7. And anything below 11.5 stone, people are asking me if am OK (getting too skinny).

I have long skinny arms. Wide shoulders. Shapely, muscular legs and bottom. And I carry most my weight around my stomach. First place it goes on and last place it comes off. If I trained properly, like I did when was younger, I'd have a very athletic physique. Little podgy love bun belly has other ideas tho.

ChilledProsecco · 21/01/2026 22:22

Tonorrow is my 1st weigh-in after injection 1 & I’m feeling nervous!

I don’t think I’ve lost very much & my stomach feels bloated. Urgh.

Good luck! I quite like weighing every day. It takes the pressure off jab day needing to be a good day with no bloating, water etc. I also get to see what bloating, water and periods do to my weight and see successes some days. This week's low will soon be last months high and so on.

I thought it would turn obsessive but I actually feel a lot more positive this way.

Topsyturvey10 · 21/01/2026 23:29

I’m due my 3rd jab tomorrow, my stats so far are
SW 12.7.8
CW 12.2.2
GW 10.7-10

I was a bit disappointed not to have more but I guess slow is ok and hopefully I can keep it off.
I picked a some small jelly beans today but didn’t go all out like I usually would
and I’m trying to drink plenty and exercise. I’ve done 2 short runs and a weights session so far this week, I’m literally trying to run away from fat🙄

My plan this weekend is to research how to extract the golden dose 🤔

Have people found their provider gets in touch automatically? I’ve had no contact from Pharmulous and I’ll need to reorder next week.

recruitretain · 22/01/2026 06:09

Well I did it started on Tuesday morning
and it’s been amazing
not going to weigh myself till next Tuesday and 2nd dose of 2.5mg is due
but so far

  1. not been on kids snack cupboard once, nor the fridge
  2. have felt full after my much reduced calorie controlled meal
  3. have had no food noise or urges at all
  4. drinking 4 liters of water
  5. have managed a 40min walk each evening
  6. I work with FEEDERS and yesterday I had no desire or interest in the cakes/treats/rubbish brought in , usually I would scoff a lot

im in awe of this injection already

one or two small issues

  1. felt really light headed at times
  2. my sleep first two nights has been poor but better second night than first
  3. my stools are rabbit droppings the only way I can describe it

337 pounds SW

I was previously eating 3000 on a good day do 4000-5000 on a bad day

my midday Tuesday my day one jab I had no urges or desire for food

im keen to see what the weekend feels like and Monday

never eaten so many greens before and now I realise I love vegetables 😂

@recruitretain I work with feeders too and now finding it so easy to resist drifting over to the cupboard of junk, even at half three which was always my time for a cup of tea and a biscuit or three. Having an apple instead and feeling quite virtuous.

cravingmilkshake · 22/01/2026 07:25

On preparation for ordering the food shop for the weekend, my husband commented on how much food we have left - particularly the snack cupboard - crisps and chocolate all left untouched (minus the children’s odd snack )

ChilledProsecco · 22/01/2026 07:39

Well, I did it - weighed myself!

SW - 73kg
week 1 - 71.4kg down 1.6kg

it may not seem a lot, but to me that’s amazing - it would usually take me about a month or two to get there!! I’m only 5 foot, so a shortie. If I can keep going like this, I will be pleased

I have started a campaign at work to outlaw this behavior, it’s really not healthy and I work with so so many obese people

i am the biggest sadly

at least I feel the biggest

blackandwhitefluffycat · 22/01/2026 08:46

I used to work in one of the emergency services and we would have people from outside kindly bringing things in for us. I learnt pretty quickly to really think about whether I wanted something - I found I didn’t most of the time.

I’ve decided to weigh daily. I did this for years when I was slim (out of habit), and it worked for me. It was when I stopped, and slipped into weighing irregularly that the weight piled on. Weighing weekly is ok while I’m on jabs, as jab day would remind me, but I’m not planning on being on them forever, and I would easily go a couple of weeks without remembering.

I’ve lost weight quickly so far, but I can literally put 7lbs on in a week - no idea how, but I can! I remember that super size super skinny programme where the skinny people would be eating piles of crisps and chocolates etc and still only able to put 3lb on in 8 months! That is not me 😂

Another 1lb down today!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 22/01/2026 09:41

Day 2 of jab 3 and the effects are getting stronger and I don't like it. Yesterday I only ate half my dinner and this morning was the same with breakfast. I don't want it to work like that. I want to eat my meals and enjoy them. Meals have never been an issue for me, they're healthy balanced and correct portions. The problem was the ton of crap I ate in between meals. I stopped doing that from day one and lost 6 lbs a week. I don't want to lose faster because I'm barely eating. I want slow and steady.

Whatstfpoint · 22/01/2026 09:48

I feel really positive. Average weekly loss is 1.5kg today. It varies and can be a bit less the next day but I will take it. Im huge so this is fairly easy.

Im concerned about my eating habits. Thinking very hard how to change. I made a normal dinner yesterday and noticed half way through that im done, but I kept on eating as i wanted to eat. I was dreaming of my potatos, eggs and saurkraut all day, so was gutted when i noticed I actually ate 'enough' and it would be over.

I probably wouldn’t move up doses then… I’m currently still able to enjoy the two meals a day that I have (I don’t eat breakfast) but my husband said that when he moved up to 5 he started to struggle to finish his meals, even though he’d already halved his portions!

I wish the pens lasted a bit longer once opened so you could half dose where required. I’m going on holiday in a couple of months and want to be able to enjoy the food on offer; we have lots of restaurants booked! I might have a dose just before I go and then miss a dose while away.

HollywoodTease · 22/01/2026 11:35

Day 2 after my first dose now.

I have the headache from hell (could be caffeine withdrawal, I don't drink tea or coffee but have cut out my beloved Pepsi max 🤔), haven't 💩 yet (sorry if tmi!) and according to my scales I've put 5lb on! 🙄 (these are my old bathroom scales, I'm not getting back on the digi ones that connect to my app till weigh-in day)

Yesterday I ate fairly normally but today I don't feel like it. I had a tub of instant oats for breakfast (with added collagen powder) and could only manage about 1/3 of it. I've got home-made soup for lunch and cauli/broccoli cheese for dinner so I'll see how I get on with them.

Feeling weirdly spaced out. 😵‍💫

Oh well. I'm away on a girls weekend tomorrow, hope I feel a bit more normal!
