I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

MJ 2.5mg just taken dose three
planning on staying on 2.5mg for my next pen
SW: 13 stone 9.4lbs
Week 1: lost 11 lbs
Week 2: lost 3 lbs
Total weightloss: 1 stone (a small jack russel terrier)
GW: 9 stone 7

We have some newbies joining mid month so let’s cheer them on - we’ve got this ladies!

I'm only two jabs in on MJ, but so far have been lucky with side effects. I'm eating similar food to what I had before, just a bit more conscious of adding protein and removing carbs (though not completely) and smaller portions. I haven't had anything sweet since I started and I've been avoiding UPF for a while and generally eat lots of fruit and vegetables, lentils, beans etc. I very rarely drink alcohol and have decided not to for the next couple of months. My weakness is baked goods, biscuits and probably cheese, so these are the things I'm avoiding. I have 2-3 black coffees a day, and so far no ill effects from that (thank God!).

I'm drinking at least 2 litres of water a day, but still waking up quite thirsty. My digestion seems to be a bit sluggish, but things are still moving along! I've been getting some mild headaches every now and then and a very slight suggestion of nausea after eating a meal, lots of little burps too, but all in all, nothing I can't handle so far.

A stone lost in 3 weeks here!

SW on 1st Jan: 14.5
CW: 13.5!

I know it’ll slow down but I’m very happy! My husband has lost 5lb on average every week for 8 weeks, taking into account Christmas (it’s been more some weeks, but was less then), but he has a lot more to lose.

I don’t drink alcohol at all or fizzy drinks, so I would not give up black coffee and green tea unless I had to! I gave them up during my pregnancies so I’ve done my time!

bec81 · 21/01/2026 09:41

Weigh-in day, ding ding.
Sw: 81kg
End of Wk 1: 77.8kg (-3.2kg)
End of Wk 2: 76.8kg (-1kg)
Tw: 55-60kg

plenty to go yet, but good steady progress, with minimal side effects so im happy with that. Ready for jab 3 tonight.

Boyandgirlanddone · 21/01/2026 09:50

Another one here for the Week 3 side effects after thinking I’d got away scot free! Horrendous nausea, bloating and heartburn. Digestion slowed down to nothing. Trying to force down some chia seeds this morning to help things along. I’ve been shopping in the M&S nutrient dense range which seems to be their normal range rebranded for us jabbers!
My weight loss has also slowed but I don’t mind that as I really don’t want my hair to fall out! I’m trying to concentrate on weight training more than cardio so that may play a part in that too.

Hettar · 21/01/2026 11:05

I'm away for work over he next 2 days which will involve lots of pastries, drinks and dinners.

I'm sure people will notice that I'm not eating much but my plan is to just move food around on my plate when I'm full. At least it'll look like I'm still eating 😄

I think January is probably the best time to get away with not having to explain you're on WLI - just say you're on a strict diet post Christmas and then as time goes on say the diet was making you feel better so you're sticking with it. My extended family are big drinkers (and eaters!), but they've gotten used to me not drinking as much. I think we tend to assume everyone think the same way about eating, but there's no law that says you have to fill your plate at a buffet!

I have taken two injections of 2.5 today
In an attempt to feel something 😂 I have already recieved my order of 2.5 but may just inject twice a week and then order 5mg

Let us know how it goes! I hadn’t thought of doing that and even though I’ve received my 5mg I still have two doses of 2.5mg left, so I could do that this week…

ChilledProsecco · 21/01/2026 13:07

I’m due to take my 2nd dose of MJ tonight but have zero appetite & feel like it hasn’t worn off from last week.

Thinking of delaying next injection a day or two. Is anyone else doing that? I know you’re supposed to use the pen within a month though….

Am feeling so bloody energetic!!! I don’t know if it’s just me? Ran an easy 5k last night.

Am going away for the weekend with my boyfriend but will take some healthy foods with me.

And anyone else not enjoying wine so much?!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 21/01/2026 13:36

Weigh-day for me. Had my 3rd dose this morning. Still no major side effects. A bit of a headache now and again, a tiny bit of nausea when I'm hungry, and a bit more constipated, but nothing I can't live with.

SW 129.4 kg
Wk1 125.5 kg (- 3.9 kg)
Wk2 122.4 kg (- 3.1 kg)
Total loss 7 kg (15.4 lbs)

I'm very happy so far.

CatNoBag · 21/01/2026 13:37

@ChilledProsecco - I'm the same with energy. I did a workout run yesterday, normally I would have told myself I needed a snack before going otherwise I'd have no energy for it, but completed it without a problem and wasn't rushing to make dinner afterwards. When I'm running now, I already feel much lighter.

LilacPossum · 21/01/2026 13:55

I’m feeling a bit disheartened if I’m honest.

Start weight was 15st 6, first weigh in was -10lb, second weigh in was -2lb so I’m now 12lb down which is great in 2 weeks, but since last Friday I’ve only lost 0.2lb

I feel like my appetite suppression is ok, I’m not as hungry as I’d usually be but I’m working hard to not be snacking.

I can’t really eat much less than I am, lunch is often soup and crackers plus some kind of protein, maybe crab sticks or boiled egg. Dinner is a smaller version of our usual meal with far less carbs, sometimes no carbs at all.

I’m drinking litres of squash and herbal tea, no fizzy drinks and no tea or coffee. I didn’t even have any booze this weekend!

Similar feelings for me, but someone else pointed out that this is just a starting dose, and we need to keep the faith, things will get moving. Could you add some extra walking or something physical? Keep going, eventually the scales will adjust.

12 lbs in 2 weeks is amazing! And by Friday I'm sure you will have lost at least another lb maybe more. You're just 2lbs away from a stone! Concentrate on that next 2 lbs and that mini milestone of losing a stone. If I said to you on Christmas day you will be a stone lighter by the end of January I bet you wouldn't have believed me. Keep going and well done! 🥳

I took my second 0.25 Saturday morning and weighed myself to see I was 3.5lb down from the previous week. I literally have no appetite, none at all. I don't have to go up to 0.5 if this continues do I? I know this is far below the 'therapuetic dose' but it is perfectly safe and ok to stick at 0.25 for as long as that works and only move up if it stops being effective, right?

I’ve ordered 0.25 for my second month as still feel the effects. May regret it but I also know I need to be able to make these changes stick without the constant effect of the drugs as well so feel like it’s a good test!

Stuck to less than 1300 cals yesterday and today can’t even finish my usual breakfast - felt so full in the gym it made me nauseous. This is week 3 and first time I’ve had this feeling so strongly so 0.25 seems to be doing the trick for me. Scales are stubborn but am pushing on rather than doing my usual of thinking “fuck it” and stuffing my face.

This is very true about a stone in January!

and I need to try to factor in a bit more movement- I’ve been worried about the fact I’ve barely eaten and how I’ll feel.

Also not sure whether to go up or not- don’t want any side effects but also don’t want to waste money on something that’s not going to help!

Ralphiesaurus · 21/01/2026 14:48

Third jab done today. Haven't lost a huge amount but it's going in the right direction, and one of the best things for me is a general feeling of wellbeing and calm. I hadn't realised before that years of dieting had left me quite anxious around food, which was making cooking family meals stressful. I had no idea, until I realised the other day that I was actually enjoying cooking!

I personally think 12lb is two weeks is amazing!
I've lost 4lb in those same two weeks
But also don't deprive yourself of anything, if you fancy some alcohol just have some. I think mj changes people's taste for alcohol so you might even find a couple of sips takes away the cravings or you have had enough after one glass

This is how I feel - I was worried I'd lose all enjoyment of food taking WLI, that I'd just have no interest in it and not enjoy eating, but I'm still enjoying the food I have, and enjoying thinking what to have to eat and so on. It would be such a complete personality change for me if I completely lost interest in food!

I seem to have required a taste for pickled gerkins !
I'm having a couple with my midday ryvitas & cottage cheese .
