January 2026 Starters - dog-gone weightloss

I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

MJ 2.5mg just taken dose three
planning on staying on 2.5mg for my next pen
SW: 13 stone 9.4lbs
Week 1: lost 11 lbs
Week 2: lost 3 lbs
Total weightloss: 1 stone (a small jack russel terrier)
GW: 9 stone 7

We have some newbies joining mid month so let’s cheer them on - we’ve got this ladies!

My DH said he didn’t need any syringes to get the extra dose out; he said he just twisted really hard! It worked!

The twist after my 4th dose back to number 1 was easy to do, but I am now expecting that the plunger won't go down 😔 I don't want to order syringes as no one knows at home. I will have to just waste it.

Same. The plunger won’t go down inside the liquid. They’ve obviously tried to stop people using the extra liquid!

I am disappointed to hear this, thought it was too easy! At least I am fully informed. I am doomed not to save money as I cannot swap pharmacy due to needing to be confident on delivery days/times. I would be confident with a syringe but don't want bulky needles to store/get rid off and delivery's coming to the house. Hopefully I won't need to be on it long term and it will motivate me to remain in calories and make the most of being on it.

son have introduced some olive oil in my scrambled eggs and added a Avocado to the diet to try to get some healthy fats through my system

would like to see this weight loss to drop to 2 pounds a week or 7-8 pounds a pen

The needles I bought are not bulky at all. I bought 10 syringes and 10 needles and they turned up in a box that went through the letter box and I have them easily hidden in a small make up bag.

I was worried about the plunger going down for the 5th dose, which is why I did a trial with my first pen, squirting it into the sink. The plunger went down fine.

Well, my DH definitely managed it: it was my first dose (as he wanted to move up and mine hadn’t arrived yet)! He is super tall and very strong.

@Newstartplease24end of day 2 & I’ve had zero side effects! I had a fair few with wegovy, so I would definitely recommend the switch if you’re struggling with it!

Due to go up to 5mg today. Bit nervous - a bit like before the first injection a few weeks ago. Worried any side effects will ramp up. But I am ready to go up… by day 5 after an injection it’s starting to wear off a bit. Onward!

I am on week 3 of 5mg, I haven't had a single side effect so fingers crossed you will be the same x

Weigh in/injection day for me and I have no idea how much I've lost. My scales hate me. I was 122.5 kg last week. Today they said I was 123.9 kg, which I don't believe. So I stepped off and back on again and they said 120.5 kg, which sounds more like it. So I weighed a third time and it was 121.4 kg. Then 117.8 kg. And now it's saying 124.5 kg.

Day 11 on 5mg and I feel so sick! It started yesterday and I could barely eat. I went to bed at 7:30pm. It feels just like morning sickness today!! 🤢 Urgh on the train to work. Hoping I don’t start retching in public 🙈🫣

@MrTiddlesTheCatthat is annoying. Might the batteries need a change. Or new scales? I would take it that there has been a loss.

I've just changed the batteries and now it's saying 122.8 kg. Which would be a small gain on last week, which suggests that it was off last week too. Because I don't believe it's possible to be my weight, cut out over 1000 calories a day and not lose weight.

So my final 2.5g of MJ this morning and I’m glad I made the decision to go up to 5 as I hardly noticed any effects last week.

good news is that I lost another kg this week and have lost just over 1stone in 3 weeks.

i can see the weight loss getting slower but at least it’s still going in the right direction.

we are away this weekend which I am worried about as no one apart from DH knows I’m doing this and I’m hoping no one will notice I’m not drinking and being really careful with what I’m eating.

Looks like the 5th dose is no longer an option. My new pen doesn't have it.

Can anyone recommend an online dance / exercise program. All the ones I’ve looked at I need to sign upto and I’d quite like to try a lesson before I have to agree to a monthly subscription.

I really need to up my exercise to keep things moving

Total weight loss: (6kg)
Tw: 55-60kg

Happy with that, slow and steady. Moving up to .5 tonight. Im a bit nervous, but if I feel rotten ill click it out and and go back to the .25 for the rest of the month

I'm just telling people I'm making a big effort with my diet, which is the truth!

My weight has gone up gradually over ~5 years after I'd managed to get down to a good weight previously with diet and exercise, the exercise doing most of the heavy lifting. I'm in medical menopause now, the hormone tap was suddenly turned off and exercise alone isn't cutting it so I have to go for short, sharp shock! that's what I'm telling people to explain why I'm being a fussy eater and not drinking. Alcohol is empty calories, so I can't justify them when I've weighed out every element of my breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Does that have a dose already taken or is it unused? It looks like mine, I've taken 4 doses and still have the liquid between the small line and the end of the syringe left? If you haven't taken a dose already, I'd query it with the supplier as it looks like one dose has already gone?

I found out a while back that my scales are reliable. I kept going on it because I didn't like the first number and thought I'm just going to weigh again hoping it would show a lower number. But nope. It remained the same 😂
