I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

MJ 2.5mg just taken dose three
planning on staying on 2.5mg for my next pen
SW: 13 stone 9.4lbs
Week 1: lost 11 lbs
Week 2: lost 3 lbs
Total weightloss: 1 stone (a small jack russel terrier)
GW: 9 stone 7

We have some newbies joining mid month so let’s cheer them on - we’ve got this ladies!

Oats or plain muesli are wonderful for hair etc. Nice with a bit of yogurt, milk, seeds, fruit etc.

YellowStockings · 30/01/2026 10:40

@Whatstfpoint oh interesting - I've been having chia pudding for breakfast but maybe I'll switch back to overnight oats and add some nuts and chia to it.

BG2015 · 30/01/2026 10:56

First month report.
1st Jan SW 12st 9.9lb
30th Jan CW 12st 0.9lb
Lost 9lb so far on 0.25mg Wegovy in a month.
Blood pressure is down. Clothes are looser.

Took my first 0.5mg jab last night and this morning the suppression and fullness is much stronger.

Really impressed with how easy it's been. Side affects have been minor and manageable although I don't think I want to be on this for ever as I don't like the unpredictably of it.

GhostHQ · 30/01/2026 11:13

Thank you everyone who offered such lovely support - I knew this was the right place to come :)))

I chatted with my GP today. She offered lots of reassurance and information specifically around the anxiety and jittery feelings I've had since starting. She explained how the medication affects the pancreas/combined with the hormone response, startles the body a little bit, which produces excess adrenaline. That's likely why I've been feeling so shaky and on edge.

Certainly doesn't make the anxiety go away, but I feel calmer knowing I am not dying!

If anyone reading this is struggling with anxiety, feel free to come and chat!

How is everyone else doing today? I've been exercising to reduce the adrenaline. Also keep waking up at 4am - ahhh! Anyone else waking up early?

Yes. I cut it out of my diet when I started IF and my hair was awful. Dry and dull. Its back to shiny and I think I shed less too.

I've been taking bovine collagen powder for a while now (my nails had been getting more nad more brittle, and if I keep up the collagen they seem to get better). I add it to my morning coffee or breakfast. I've started taking biotin since starting MJ as many from the Jan 2025 group had come over and recommended it. I don't know if it's down to that or the subtle diet changes, but my nails have been solid this week and so far, no noticeable hair loss (I have very thick and long hair, so tend to leave a trail of it wherever I go anyway!).

@Peachypips78 How are you feeling now?
I’ve finally caught up with this thread and saw that you jabbed for the first time yesterday so only a day before me. Hoping it’s going ok for you?
I’m sat here waiting for the side effects to kick in having only jabbed 8 hours ago 😆

@InstantRegret nothing!!! No side effects but no change in appetite either. I’d rather have some side effects if it meant less appetite! How about you?

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and settled, and that you were able to see your GP for reassurance. Always good to hear from an actual medical professional rather than just randoms in a support thread on the internet!

I've been waking up at 4am for a while, but it started pre MJ for me. I'm assuming another one to add to the menopause list, but at least I usually manage to get back to sleep (though if I've woken at 5, not so much!).

Ok, a bit TMI but - I currently weigh every day unofficially (only record once a week though), and I weighed this morning before going to the loo (106.2kg) and after going twice (105.85)!!

Obviously I’ll assume the lower weight is the right one 😉 but it shows how huge fluctuations can be throughout the day. Now I’ve had breakfast and a cuppa it’s probably shot up again!

Haha, interesting to see those numbers. I always get up, go to the loo and then weigh for that very reason! And don’t eat or drink anything before. I want the lowest weight 😂

Tomorrow will be my week three official weigh in and as of today I have still not lost a pound since the end of week one. Which is either a very stubborn stall and I’m about to see a whoosh, OR a sign that I’m currently eating at maintenance and need to eat less. I really don’t think I’m eating that much though, and certainly a lot less than I used to. But then, I used to put on weight every month so at least I’m no longer doing that…

blackandwhitefluffycat · 30/01/2026 12:27

I’m taking what I usually do: multivitamins and minerals, extra vitamin D and flaxseed oil daily, and ferritin every few days, but I added in biotin supplements daily a couple of weeks ago (which came with the H&B advent last year).

Biotin is already in my multivitamins but I looked it up and it should be ok having both, as you can get much higher strengths than what I have combined.

No hair loss so far, and I have thick hair anyway. The only time I lost more hair than usual was when I was very low in ferritin a couple of years ago.

@Peachypips78 Feel a bit cold, jittery and my whole body feels tender to touch. Like how I would feel after a wild night out many moons ago but without the wild night out 😆
No noticeable different in appetite as of yet but it’s early days..

Whereas one day this week I weighed, went to the loo, weighed again and GAINED 100g 🤣

Thanks for those links, @CatNoBag - really like the Dr Nadolsky posts - great to hear someone who actually knows about obesity being really positive about tirzepatide. (There seems to be an awful lot of scaremongering at times in the news on GLP-1s. I sometimes wonder if people think we ought to suffer to lose weight, and the fact GLP-1s make it a little less stressful is "cheating".)

Having struggled up and down with my weight over many many years (around 6 stone up or down - and then years of being either overweight or obese) I have to say having this calm around food is blissful, even if the weight loss is slow.

Whatstfpoint · 30/01/2026 14:11

Im travelling to see family and i have already asked for dinner plans. We are going to order or they suggested McDonald's which I hope I can talk them out of. I can't eat very fatty right now.

Chose a very good salad at the airport for lunch but my brain goes SNACK SNACK SNACK.

Resist the MacDonalds! You’ll be at much greater risk of side effects if you eat stuff like that.

It's the calmness that really helps isn't it? I don't think I'm thinking any less about food (I was worried I'd have a complete personality change because I love cooking and am really geekily interested in nutrition), but now I'm just happy to plan what's for dinner, tot up my totals on MFP, do the weekly shop and haven't once found myself eating mindlessly between meals. I usually get bored of logging on MFP in less than a week, but I've stuck with it religiously this time and I think it's because I'm finding it easy to stay within my limits, so not getting disheartened. I've had a really stressful week with work, which would normally have me gorging on chocolate or cheese (both of which there are plenty of somewhere in this house if I went looking 😂) or anything else, but I seem to have survived just sipping away at my water bottle!

I know. I had sausage last weekend and I was unwell. Then I looked at the fat content (calories weren't too bad) and felt disgusted by sausages.

Do your family know you’re on the jabs? I’ve been wondering what I’ll do in those circumstances as I haven’t told anyone. I have told people I’m on a diet though so I suppose I’ll just try to refuse unhealthy foods on those grounds.

No. I don't feel desperate to hide it but no idea if I will mention it. Only one friend knows. Their diet is beige. I have some oat biscuits in my luggage in case I need a bit of fibre.

My diet has always been different from theirs so its always uncomfortable for me anyway. I usually can't wait to be eating MY food again when I get home.

Yes - cold and jittery, exactly how I was feeling. It helped to keep myself very warm and regularly ate to keep the blood sugar up. Although I felt very jittery this morning, the brain fog and jitters have actually significantly worn off for the afternoon. I'm still a little giddy here and there but feel very calm suddenly. I am at the end of day 4, if that helps!

Hettar · 30/01/2026 15:23

A small update from me.

After not losing any weight for almost a week I've lost 2lbs in 2 days. I think after the initial big losses this is what it's going to be like. I'm ok with that.

To all the people losing slowly please stick with it. We can do this!

I realise we can have constipation or diarrhoea on this site but I seem to be flip flopping between the two . Here is roughly what I'm eating a day . I don't eat meat and have tofu or maybe fish a few times a week , this is what I'm having today and welcome comments .
B. 1 Weetabix , just under half a banana , handful of blueberries , sprinkle of seeds .
L . 1 ryvita , cottage cheese on top , cucumber . Kiwi with skin on .
D. Salmon fillet & salad again seeds sprinkled in top with a teaspoon of nutritional yeast . Another Kiwi with skin on.
What are your thoughts ?
