I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

Ok I need recommendations please!!

Constipation is getting silly now - I haven’t had a BM for a week now, since I had the bad diarrhoea last Tuesday. I am drinking soooo much water and have eaten seeds, fresh fruit and veg and prunes every day for the last 5 days.
Can anyone recommend a product to try please? I have had bad experiences in the past with dulcolax and senokot.

I daren’t weigh this week as I’m sure I won’t have lost!

Psyliium husks in a pint of water, or chia seeds soaked overnight in water, milk or juice to make a pudding . Both form a gel which helps move things through in a non-irritating way.

@mumlove1234ive been cold too, particularly my feet. Not noticed it so much lately but it’s been a definite side affect for me

My feet have been so cold I actually have chilblains!!

Perianth · 27/01/2026 18:58

I’m freezing too, but it makes a welcome change from hot flushes!

Can anyone answer this - if you are able to stick to the required 1200-1500 calories and get your exercise, are you more likely to lose weight on 5mg rather than 2.5, and if so, why?

I want to understand what advantage there is to moving up a dose if my food noise is manageable, I’m eating and exercising well.

I ended up buying lactulose from the pharmacy … it was not pretty but it worked

Ralphiesaurus · 27/01/2026 19:41

Weirdest NSV this eve. I was at a meeting where they also give you a light supper and they served me a load of pasta... and without thinking about it I heard myself saying "ooh no that's a bit much for me. Can I have a smaller portion please?"

Whaaaaaat????!!! I heart carbs usually.

On the laxative front I rely on dulcolax (the bisacodyl tablets) as I have had years of very very bad IBS (including hospital!) And that, together with the prescription medication Linaclotide is the only thing that works for me. Poss not helpful but I wonder if you've been constipated for a while the main thing is a proper clear out (sorry if TMI). Picolax if utterly desperate (its foul but works - have to ask the pharmacist for it). Slightly gentler but also rank is 8x Movicol a day for three days.

But... having said all that... maybe speak to pharmacist and or GP if really bad? You have my sympathy. I was v worried my usual regime would stop working on MJ as I know how uncomfortable it can be.

Etherealcelestialbeing · 27/01/2026 19:52

Thanks for all the suggestions and support! I will be trying them asap. I do normally have slow digestion - I think from inconsistent intake of fibre in my normal diet. But this is another level!

I also have the coldness side effect - seems I am getting them all Confused I am happy to stick with it for now though as I want this change desperately.

Wins for me this week - ignoring birthday cakes in the staff room today and having lots more energy in general.

How’s your weight loss? Here’s the google AI overview from a question I put in about moving up:

“1. The 2.5mg Dose "Wears Off"
The initial 2.5mg dose is designed to introduce the medication to your system, and its appetite-suppressing effects may begin to fade by the third or fourth week. Many users report that hunger and "food noise" (persistent thoughts about food) return before the next injection is due, signalling the need for a higher, more stable dose.

  1. Enhanced Appetite Suppression and Weight Loss

While 2.5mg can initiate weight loss, it is not designed to be a long-term treatment level. Moving to 5mg is the first "therapeutic" dose, where most people experience stronger, more consistent appetite reduction and increased weight loss momentum.

  1. Gradual "Titration" to Minimize Side Effects

Mounjaro is introduced in a gradual, step-by-step process called titration to allow your body to build tolerance to the medicine and minimize gastrointestinal side effects like nausea or vomiting.

  • Weeks 1-4: 2.5mg (Starter dose)
  • Weeks 5+: 5mg (First maintenance/therapeutic dose)
  • Further Steps: 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, 15mg (increased in 2.5mg increments as needed).
  1. Metabolic Improvements

A higher dose allows for a stronger response in hormone regulation, which can further improve insulin sensitivity and help your body manage blood sugar more efficiently.
Signs You Are Ready to Move Up

  • You have completed 4 weeks on 2.5mg.
  • You are not experiencing significant, unmanageable side effects.
  • Your weight loss has plateaued or slowed.
  • Your hunger returns earlier in the week.

Note: While 4 weeks is the standard schedule, some individuals may stay on a lower dose longer if it remains effective. Always follow the advice of your healthcare provider before changing doses.”

blackandwhitefluffycat · 27/01/2026 20:13

I still have appetite suppression, I’m losing a decent amount weight and I’ve had no side effects. I’m moving up as I’m worried that it’ll become less effective in the next couple of weeks and that I’d be stuck with a lower dose. I’m battling hormones so need all the help I can get and it says that 5mg helps more with hormone regulation.

I was bunged up for a few days, so now have a sachet of fibogel every morning and have had no problems since

Can anyone give advice on this…
Im on HRT, spray oestrogen, urtrogesterone and testosterone. I’ve been on GLP for 3 weeks now and only just realised I should have been taking more progesterone. My GP wasn’t sure but said that I should increase from 2 tabs to 3 for the 14 days a month I take it. However, I should have done this literally a fortnight ago. What is everyone else in this position doing? I’m on 2.5mg.

I was told I couldn’t increase from 2 to 3 tablets because I still wouldn’t absorb enough progesterone…I had to swap from the gel and tablets to combined patches (I called as soon as I had my first dose of 2.5mg)

AnonymousAnnie55 · 27/01/2026 23:20

I’ve just taken my second week jab tonight, and think I’ve lost 5-6 pounds - my scales are iffy so treated myself to some new ones that measure body mass, fat, muscle, the may be no good but reviews seemed okay! So will weigh properly tomorrow or Thursday.

I’ve been listening to the recommended Weightless book on audible, and it’s really helping my understanding of glp1, I probably should have had a listen beforehand, but hey ho!

The only side effects were really bad heartburn/acid reflux the morning after having (stupidly) having a vodka and Diet Coke! And a friend then told me no more fizzy, which is all good as I want to cut it out anyway, and just had one vodka as was with family at a dinner!

my tummy feels a teeny bit sore after the jab, I didn’t have this the first time, but maybe panicking I did something wrong/differently. Hope not! Have also ordered fybogel sachets, not suffering yet, but going much less regularly!

notcomfortable · 28/01/2026 07:13

I cant find the post to reply to but I've gone up a dose, purely because 2.5 is doing nothing for me
I have already infected 5mg and tolerated it fine, you don't have to go up
There are posters on these boards that have been on the injections for a year and never gone up
When I started last March, I had two months on 2.5
I think people worry that they spend another £100 on 2.5 and then two weeks later still have food noise etc but you can stay on 2.5 for as long as you want

WhoInvitedHer · 28/01/2026 07:16

Any recommendations regarding the best psyllium husk to take please?

MrTiddlesTheCat · 28/01/2026 07:32

Start of week 4 for me. I lost 1.9 kg this week.

SW: 129.4 kg
CW: 120.5 kg
Total loss: 8.9 kg

I'll be staying on 2.5 mg as I've lost a common seal pup in 3 weeks, which is unbelievable.

bec81 · 28/01/2026 07:37

Weigh in day today, a little disappointed with progress, but ill keep going. Will be taking my last 0.25 tonight and then have a .5 in the fridge waiting to go.
Sw: 81kg
End of Wk 1: 77.8kg (-3.2)
End of Wk 2: 76.8kg (-1)
End of wk 3: 76.2kg (-0.6)
Tw: 55-60kg

I weighed after a gym session this morning, I usually weigh straight out of bed, I wonder if that makes much of a difference

They’re all the same I think. It’s just a dried seed husk, there aren’t any other ingredients.

I'm in a similar situation, so far I'm losing weight steadily on 2.5g and don't really want to eat any less than I currently am as I worry it will impact me being able to exercise and establishing long term eating habits etc, but I have 5mg on order for my next pen and will give it a try. Worst case if the first week is too much, I'll count clicks and get a bit more bang for my buck.

totallyfrusted · 28/01/2026 08:46

Have just taken my 3rd dose this morning and feeling a little anxious after last weeks side effects.

SW 100
1st wk 96.7
2nd week 94.2
overall loss 5,8kg

i know a lot of this loss is due to the side effects and it won’t keep up but happy with that as a good boost to start.

debating over whether to increase to 5mg next month. I think I’ll see how this week goes with side effects. I had to take Monday off work and I can’t afford to do that every month.

I’ve also got my first night out on Friday since I started so that is going to be my first real test.

goldylock · 28/01/2026 09:04

Getting my 5 mg pen this evening.

On the discussion whether to go up or not, listen to your hunger/if you've no suppression/food noise has come back and also if you've no side effects.

Ive no longer any suppression at all nor any side effects, so 5 mg is best (for me).

If you still have suppression/no food noise, or have had side effects, on 2.5 mg, you "may" stay on 2.5 mg, by choice.

It varies body to body, like losing weight does. And so there is no wrong or right. But to make the decision, try listen to your body.

I had to trade out my summer weight duvet (in January 😂).

I had forgotten what it was to be cold at night. It’s easiest to solve for than hot flushes.

Octagoneaway · 28/01/2026 12:42

Probably a bit early for this question, but I’m pondering what to do, so thought I’d ask for others advice:

I can’t do my first 5mg jab until Sunday 1st, which means next jabs will be 8th and 15th. On the 16th I’m going away on a fancy holiday for a few days (only until Thurs). It’s an outdoorsy trip, so limited access to bathroom at short notice and food on the trip is healthy and included. Would you postpone the 15th’s dose to the Thurs after I get back? I’m thinking it might be safer. I’ve been a bit bunged up, so would be embarrassed to be locked in the loo for ages, with others in the group waiting for me.

I’ve probably answered my own question there…😂

Unexpected NSV. May not have lost weight but I went for a BP check today and it was 124/70.

2weeks ago I was at 170+/95+

Not all down to MJ and healthier habits I'm sure, as I've also been on a starter dose of meds for it, but I'm feeling pretty happy right now 🙂
