My DDs are deep in revision this half term. Obviously punctuated by snacks tik tok and boys.

@DGmaintainingi am pleased you got to see your Nonna. @Jins sympathy for the funny feelings.

weigh in day for me and I have gained a lb which actually felt ok as last weeks whoosh felt wrong/artificial. So still not at goal - 1.5lb to go ffs. I do feel better on 10 though - clearly it’s still having an impact but I’ve had decent meals and been for 2 ‘runs’ so better fuelled I think.

Jins · 17/02/2026 08:26

That last pound or so dragged for me @myladyjane. It’s hard not to get hung up on a random goal. It’s been a slow burn for a few of us really. But here we all are a year later in much better condition than we were.

We have sun today! I’m going to be stuck inside trying to sort books that were on a bookshelf in the spare room and moving the recipe and crafting ones down to the unit in my old sewing space. I won’t be getting much done, books are very distracting.

Chinese New feast by DH tonight. I think the word we’re all feeling is trepidation. He’s probably being over ambitious

26inprogress · 17/02/2026 09:32

Happy sunny day everyone!
Sorry to those struggling with weight health and ill relatives, sounds tough, hope you’re all ok.
@myladyjaneyuk, that was us last year, solidarity and thank the world for boys and Tik tok breaking up revision 😂. Sounds like things are going well, you’re so close to your goal, you’ll do it!

I like mfp, love that I can add my recipes and it calculates, you do have to watch for some weird entries but I track every day and like that I have a record, I haven’t tried any other apps mind you!!

I’ve lost another 2 pounds, think catching up after upping the exercise, and injury. 5mg def working well, as is regular dosing. I’m off for a long walk
today and have a few recruiters to speak to. I’m eating well, around 1500-1600 a day and prob for the first time ever being consistent with exercise- 3 reformers a week, weights and static cycling although I was so bored this morning that I only did 25 mins!

Have a good day all.

Polkadotdash · 17/02/2026 10:23

One of mine should be doing GCSE revision, but the phone is more interesting, of course. Drives me insane that I’m constantly fighting a battle against nonsense brain rot. Anyway.
I spent last night googling face lifts and fillers to fix my saggy face. I obviously don’t have the money for this, but if I did, I would look amazing. I know it’s vain but I just want to look less witchy.

myladyjane · 18/02/2026 07:59

@Polkadotdash I got myself an LED mask recently after catching my face in the mirror. I couldn’t justify the expensive ones but I read a lot of reviews and got one of the higher rated budget one. I don’t yet look 25 but surely just a matter of time no?

Polkadotdash · 18/02/2026 08:26

@myladyjane what does the LED light do? Is it cell renewal? I fear for me that it’s just gravity causing my face to slide off 😂. Maybe I should just get some of that sticky tape that you can get to lift your jowls up.

Zempy · 18/02/2026 08:34

My face is ravaged by gravity. I know that as a sixty year old this is to be expected, but when you spend so much time on TEAMS it’s depressing. I also have those II lines between my eyebrows now so I am permanently frowning.

I could Botox the frown lines but it’s probably the rest of my face that bothers me more.

I should probably just turn my self view off on Teams and cover all my mirrors.

In other news, back to 8:2 today. I couldn’t eat last night after a horrendous dentist visit. I had a deep clean (I am part of the Hypermobility Gang) due to connective tissue gum issues and dentist gave me six anaesthetic jabs.

Normally you feel a bit chewy but within a couple of hours, back to normal, right? Not this time. My legs went to jelly coming down their stairs and my hands were shaking trying to write next appointment in diary. I had to sit down.

Got home and couldn’t even drink water as no sensation in lower mouth. Managed eventually when I remembered I had some straws. Bit a big lump out of my lower lip. Obviously couldn’t eat anything.

I don’t know if this was a hypermobility reaction to the adrenaline in the anaesthetic or if it’s linked to MJ? Any thoughts?

Jins · 18/02/2026 08:42

I look years younger with a towel turban after washing my hair. I think face tapes would work for me.

Mental anguish continues. DHs lunatic ex has tracked him down and sent a Valentines card saying find me. It’s really easy to find DH on the professional register so that’s not the issue. It’s the fact that they split up when he was 23 that’s the issue. Every 10 -15 years she does this, sends a valentine, declares unending love, pleads to meet etc. She gets worse if she’s told to fuck off so the only option is to ignore until she gives up. We have been together 39 years so she’s incredibly persistent.

Didn’t weigh on Monday as I always gain a pound after a jab so imagine my surprise to find myself a pound down today. I’m at 8.9 today, I’ve set my upper limit but not my lower limit yet. Will see where this takes me.

Chinese New Year celebration went really well. It was lovely to have the four of us round the table again and the food was great. Loose plans have been made to do a family meal once a month which will be nice.

BlueLimes · 18/02/2026 08:55

Good lord @Jins Has she had her life on hold for 40 years. Sounds highly annoying. Your meal sounds lovely.

interested in LED masks, DH says they can easily made and his work team are interested in trying - I’m hoping they’ll prioritise this!!
@DGmaintaining you’ve a lot going on- take care of yourself.

@26inprogress great need on the 2lbs and good luck with jobs.

I’m still a lb over pre Christmas weight - Mayve this is is for me. Works been vile though so maybe I’m stress holding. Away for weekend - I’ll try to be sensible.

@Zempy feel better soon. Hope you’re 2.5lbs go v soon @myladyjane

Zempy · 18/02/2026 09:02

Oh @jinsshe sounds deranged. Definitely ignore.

I like the idea of wearing a turban every day to hold my face up!

BlueLimes · 18/02/2026 09:03

Sorry it’s 1.5 lbs to goal? @myladyjane

Always the typo queen.

Jins · 18/02/2026 09:08

She’s been married twice @BlueLimes and has been in several long term relationships, mostly with married men. She is deranged for sure. We’re in for a few unpleasant months,

The irony is that she’s a solicitor at partner level and a specialist in family law!!!

Oh Jins that’s awful. So sorry for the stress this must cause. Could you report her ?

Jins · 18/02/2026 09:18

Tried that about 20 years ago and bundled up all the letters (and replies) and sent them to her managing partner. Asked him to have a word. The reaction was explosive and very disruptive.

Ignoring her is best. We can get through this. Just wish she’d stop

BlueLimes · 18/02/2026 10:06

I’m annoyed for you - so unfair having to go through this. I hope it’s over quickly.

Unfortunately had stalking experience- totally understand how unsettling it is. The unpleasant anticipation of what and when next.

Polkadotdash · 18/02/2026 13:35

@jins that sounds awful. And to be powerless to stop it too. Isn’t it stalking though?

@Zempy i don’t know anything about anaesthetics but I know that they make my heart race and my hands shake, regardless of the dose. Maybe it’s the same reaction? 6 doses sounds quite a lot. Are you ok today?

Zempy · 18/02/2026 14:23

Thanks @Polkadotdash

I feel exhausted. Luckily I’m not working today. Mouth still slightly swollen and sore where I bit it.

I’m sure I’ll feel better tomorrow.

Aimingforearlierbedtimes · 18/02/2026 21:05

@jins your DH must be quite a catch! Seriously though, sorry you have this stress along with the health stuff. Hope ignoring the crazy woman will have the desired effect.

DGmaintaining · 18/02/2026 21:18

Evening ladies, last night here in Italy. I think the DC enjoyed Pompeii and at least one of them enjoyed the bitterly cold hike up Vesuvius (it snowed!). I’ve not felt particularly great, all the travelling on windy roads has made me nauseous and food has been hard to stomach since I had a gelato on Monday. I did a 2mg jab on the Friday night (36 hours earlier than usual) and I wonder if it’s been working hard against all the refined carbs constantly spiking my sugar. I’ve not experienced such prolonged nausea like this during my entire MJ journey. Can’t wait to eat a salad and some blueberries when I get home!

We fly back tomorrow, I’m out for a work dinner, then on a shoot on Friday. Trying to confirm my appointment with the boob consultant for next week but the clinic aren’t returning my emails or calls, so I think I’ll try another hospital tomorrow.

@Zempy hope you feel better soon.

@Jins How annoying/worrying to have to deal with this. Again. Wish people that need it could just get some therapy. Glad you had a lovely family dinner though, and once a month sounds like a good plan to stick to.

PrepossessingPenelope · 19/02/2026 05:38

Lots to catch up on, I’m so busy this week it’s insane, just getting up to start again. Lots of driving too which I hate. My longest day has been 15 hours out of the house, I am so looking forward to Saturday. No idea what my weight is doing as I cba to track or weigh.

@Jins i just wanted to say that is absolutely awful, I’ve also had a stalking experience, also an obsessed ex who is a partner in a law firm. He followed me on holiday to Italy once, the prat.

I threatened him with the SRA, drawing his attention to the fundamental tenets of ethical behaviour that he must uphold and that they applied inside, but also, outside of practice. I chose to not engage with him generally, but I still remember feeling so frightened when he appeared at breakfast in my hotel in northern Italy.

Speaking from experience, worked for me. He knew I would follow through. I started off being terrified, then I got angry. I got to the stage where I did not give a stuff if he lost his career. You have my commiserations.

meatyryvita · 19/02/2026 08:14

Hi everyone, after a few days in a very cold Baltic country with lots of walking, I’ve managed to lose 2lbs! First week of 4.8MG Wegovy and it’s doing the trick.

@DGmaintaining I’m so sorry to hear all you’re going through - a friend had a lump recently and it was completely benign- I hope the same is for you. The fact that the clinic are slow, whilst frustrating, hopefully means they don’t see it as too serious. I hope you are recharging your batteries a little in Italy.

@Jins what a shocker! She sounds utterly bananas! @PrepossessingPenelope that sounds incredibly sinister.

@Zempy i hope you feel better soon.

Within half a stone of my goal which is mind blowing!

Jins · 19/02/2026 08:16

Thanks all. I’m sorry to hear that others have experienced stalking and @PrepossessingPenelope’s experience sounds awful. I’ll be looking around closely when we’re in York on Sunday 😀.

People can be bloody odd can’t they?

In better news I bought the paint for the newly plastered rooms so that will be moving along. I can’t wait to get my sewing stuff moved upstairs and get set up. Also I impulse bought This romper which arrived yesterday and I love it. Perfect for heading to the beach or pool on holiday and an absolute bargain at a tenner.

myladyjane · 19/02/2026 09:54

@Jins that sounds bizarre!

@meatyryvita so close! Similar stats to me

I am struggling again ffs. I have eaten slightly more this week (and I’m talking 100 cals a day more from a v low base line) and the scales are going up. So I’m now wigging out I will undo all my good work. Honestly my brain doesn’t help me does it. Don’t know why I’m gaining either as seems odd but it does coincide with a step down in dose

Zempy · 19/02/2026 11:46

@DGmaintaining sorry you are having such a difficult time.

I had a stalker ex for a while! As he was a serving police officer there was zero point in reporting it (1980s)

I still feel rough. My face is dreadfully sore and bruised below my bottom lip, and I feel sick. I can’t help wondering if there’s a connection to the MJ but I guess I will never know.

HeidiLite · 19/02/2026 12:32

Omg some people are just deranged. Sure you may have the one that got away, but after a few decades, juat move on!
@meatyryvita hope the cold walks were at least to see something interesting?

I'm in a warm country, no walking planned, plenty of eating. Sunshine is very pleasant for a change though.
