@jins as in vanilla flavoured potato mash?? surely not?

My face is still so swollen that my computer face recognition doesn't work. But was just checking the medical files, they had upladed some test results and the cyst was very much infected already, so pretty much a ticking timebomb that could have caused some significant issues.

Silver lining as couldn't eat for a while and now have very little appetite - have 57 on the scale again, my dream weight I thought I would never, ever see. Can't believe it. Already warned DH that yes I will unfortunately walk around half naked as soon as it's warm enough, just to show off. But that he should tell me when it gets a bit much - there's a woman around my age or a bit older at the gym. In decent shape and also happy to show it off, kudos to her. But beige bum scrunch shorts are still not a good look. 😬

I have first snowdrops out in the garden. Spring is on its way.

Zempy · 26/01/2026 10:32

Beige scrunch bum shorts look hideous on EVERYONE

Jins · 26/01/2026 11:17

@HeidiLite vanilla flavoured potato yes.

it was grim but better than the sauce

Aimingforearlierbedtimes · 26/01/2026 11:46

Giggling at the beige bum scrunch shorts. I’ve been buying cardigans, I’ve never felt the need before as the bioprene kept me warm. Now I’m seeking out long sleeved t-shirts and woollies.
Sorry you’re still feeling rough @HeidiLite , it certainly sounds as though the treatment was the right thing though

HeidiLite · 26/01/2026 12:32

@Aimingforearlierbedtimes thermal tops are my new best friend. Uniqlo does nice thin ones you can wear under anything and they make a difference.

OP posts:
MJalltheway · 26/01/2026 15:10

Yes to the thermals! I have a wide selection these days, mostly from M&S and Sainsbury's.
Hope you are doing OK @HeidiLite and the op turns out to be a success after all the pain and swelling!

typically, after spending MONTHS painfully inching towards goal weight and finally reaching it last week, this week I shot past it and was half a kilo down?!
but, my stress fracture in my foot seems to have re-emerged so I'm ditching all aerobic exercise for at least a week to see if it will settle down
talking of weird mash, I had white chocolate mash on holiday in St Lucia a few years ago. Sounds revolting but was actually amazing! It was at a cocoa plantation and everything on the menu had chocolate incorporated somehow

Polkadotdash · 26/01/2026 15:56

The weird mash stories are freaking me out. I’m with David Beckham on this one. Ketchup on mash is the best 🤣

Aimingforearlierbedtimes · 26/01/2026 17:20

@Polkadotdash no, no and no! Will happily accept a fried egg and sriracha on mash though 😋

HeidiLite · 26/01/2026 17:41

@MJalltheway ah how annoying about the stress facture, yes try to let it rest and heal.
I'm also working on it, still need painkillers for the tooth and I almost never take them. Bit more energetic and less swollen though.

OP posts:
26inprogress · 26/01/2026 19:02

Oh no @MJallthewaythats really annoying, rest sounds like just the plan, annoying as it is. Great news on the 1/2kg!

@DGmaintainingthat’s some impressive lifting ( and batch cooking!) . Thanks for sharing the video, I thought it was really interesting, like you I think I’m definitely benefitting from the GIP part. I also thought the info on moving up and down slowly made a lot of sense. I’ve got 2 doses left of my 7.5 pen and will then move to 5 from my 10, I have 2 more 5s in the fridge so that’s 4-5 months before I need to make any further decisions but right now I think I’d like to find the maintenance dose that works for me. Very annoyingly I think I have tendonitis in my foot, so painful and can’t run! I’m dusting off the exercise bike for the next 2 weeks, don’t want to lose my progress!

good luck @Polkadotdash, be interested to see how you feel and how quickly it kicks in.

Hope tonight’s meal better than you think @Jinswith no vanilla mash!!

@Thelittlestrangeranother one injured, hope your stretching helps and you can get back to running soon.

@HeidiLitesounds grim, really hope you’re feeling better soon, sounds like it’s a very good job you had the op though.

PrepossessingPenelope · 27/01/2026 08:29

Morning all, my downward trajectory has returned - 1lb to go.

Shocking weather again but I've got a flat out day ahead of me so I am not sure I will notice it much, from home thankfully.

I received an embarrasing number of deliveries yesterday 😊, split between three couriers 😅although multiple parcels from each one, overall I am really pleased with my haul in the sales. I've got four parcels outstanding and then I am done - finished, credit card retired! I did set myself a budget in the spring for a clothes splurge when I got to this point and I am within it thanks to the fabulous reductions - very pleased. Even better is that I think I am carving out a new look ifswim, instead of random purchases I'd say I have bought a proper capsule (large capsule 😂), wardrobe.

In other news I'm expecting to agree a date to start work today, I am hoping to be able to push it out to April so that I can have a rest and a holiday somewhere warm before I do, fingers crossed.

Have a great day losers.

Jins · 27/01/2026 09:32

Morning all. Wet and windy here so I’m staying put. Meal out was ok. It was £10 pizza night and they had one GF base left so I had half of that and brought the rest home.

Lost my rag a bit with the utter chaos I’m living in yesterday and sadly the plasterer can’t fit the job in for two weeks so it’s ongoing. I was planning on a massive eBay/Vinted session but I think I’m just going to have a trip to the charity shop and the tip instead.

Weight remains stable around 8.10.

HeidiLite · 27/01/2026 09:57

@PrepossessingPenelope woohoo you're basically there! Yes hope you can push the start date and have a nice holiday - where would you go, if it works out?

@Jins that's very annoying, renovations and living in chaos is so stressful. I really admire people who can buy fixer uppers and live there for years while slowly renovating, would drive me absolutely mad.

OP posts:
Zempy · 27/01/2026 10:18

I’m another one who went a bit mad ordering stuff this month. There’s not much else to do in January!!

Bizzarely lost a random pound today so am 8:2 which is my lowest ever recorded adult weight! I am away all next week on a residential course so will probably eat my body weight in biscuits. Plus hotel breakfast 😍

HeidiLite · 27/01/2026 10:43

I complained recently I have way too many sports outfits and then my favourite brand sent me an email that they have a new range all in most beautiful light blue..so of course I had to buy a few more things. I could exercise a loooong time before I run out of clothes. Really should stop now.
Need to get some sandals for DC though as both have grown 2 sizes since summer..

Not sure where we will go @HeidiLite as it will only be March but I'd rather stick to Europe, if the Amalfi coast managed 20 degrees that would win, but I don't think it will be that warm. Possibly Seville? I don't know.

I've just had a mortifying experience, I stood up in a teams meeting to reach a reference book, my trousers are a bit too big - I caught sight of my knickers on show on screen as my trousers had fallen down. Awful vision, black trousers, pink knickers clearly on show in between my trousers and my top. Must deploy a belt.

Polkadotdash · 27/01/2026 14:29

@PrepossessingPenelope 🫣🤣

HeidiLite · 27/01/2026 15:04

OMG @PrepossessingPenelope - hopefully you were not spotlighted for 50 people including senior management?

But losers, bad news, we have all just wasted money on the jabs. I have found something way cheaper. Have skipped a jab but still have absolutely 0 appetite.

All you need to do to achieve this is - have a totally blocked nose. First, food has no taste. Second, it's really annoying to eat if you cannot breathe at the same time. I'm thinking of starting a business, silicone nose plugs maybe?

If it makes you feel any better, when I was lecturing, I spent two and a half hours in a classroom with a group of adult men who were all apparently too traumatised or embarrassed to tell me that my skirt was tucked into my knickers at the back.

There had even been leaning over desks…🫢

PrepossessingPenelope · 27/01/2026 16:21

Oh no @Zempy 😱.

The worst thing is probably that it was recorded, to allow absent colleagues to use it as a mini tutorial - nine people plus me. 😱recorded and I didn't do the invite so I can't edit the recording - someone else's channel. It won't expire in 45 days or whatever it is because it will be downloaded. Hopefully everyone was bored and not paying attention.

I have promised myself I won't watch it again, I reckon it was seven seconds of knickers, on the way up catch a glimpse out of the corner of my eye 💀, grab book, sit down and style it out.

PrepossessingPenelope · 27/01/2026 16:22

@HeidiLite sorry you're still feeling rubbish.

HeidiLite · 27/01/2026 16:39

noooooo @Zempy

thank you @PrepossessingPenelope , it is improving, will be fine. I am a really bad patient though. DH would have no issues laying on the sofa recovering for 2 weeks, but I am not the relaxing type.

OP posts:
HeidiLite · 27/01/2026 16:45

I have a funny clothing mishap myself - just back after first maternity leave. Quite a bit heavier than I wanted to be, so had squeezed myself into industrial strenght slimming pantyhose. Sitting in a big meeting with a few dozen members of senior management and waiting for my turn to go in front of all of them to give my presentation.
And feeling how my control underwear slowly but surely starts rolling down, so instead of smoothing me out, it squeezed me into a couple of extra massive rolls. Nothing I can do, can't hide, we are all around the table so couldn't just wriggle it up. Had to go stand in front of all the people looking like a literal michelin man. ⛄

DGmaintaining · 27/01/2026 19:10

Yay for the downward trajectory @PrepossessingPenelope and well done on building your new wardrobe, just in time for your new job. I wrote that earlier this morning, and have now just caught up with the latest Teams call antics! Oh noooooo 😳 ! Were they lovely knickers though?

@Zempy 😳 also…no words. It’s what they used to call character building, but now is what some refer to as trauma-shaping.

@HeidiLite snowdrops! Lovely! New lovely light blue gym kit to match spring florals, also lovely! I need to use up my last Fabletics credit so I can close my account…

@26inprogress tendonitis does sound painful. Are there any rehab exercises you can do for it? I don’t run th

My hunger has been a little more pronounced the last couple of days. Possibly from heavier exercise, possibly because I’m second half of cycle, possibly triggered by eating slightly more sugar. I used chatGPT to analyse my freezer contents (I know, I’m getting far too dependent on it 😂) and it recommended I use up the mini mince pies as they’re taking up ‘emotional space’ 🤣 so the aim is to have them eaten by the end of the week between me and the DC! We’re 10 down, 14 to go.

DH is doing well on week 5, he did the bonus dose by himself and found it easier than the pen. This is a huge leap forward for a needlephobe. He’s not been joining me for our nightly Greek yog dessert, so he’s definitely consuming a lot less calories, but was static on the scales. He’s now tracking waist measurement, so he can see when he gets to ideal waist to height ratio.
