my hygienist calls every 6 months and forces me to book an appointment.

OP posts:
PrepossessingPenelope · 21/01/2026 08:43

Oh wow, I've never had to see one. My teeth never need cleaning at the dentist - must be down to pure genetic luck as I can't imagine any other reason for it.

Jins · 21/01/2026 08:47

@PrepossessingPenelope I do like the bowl. Just not the spelling of it as bowel. Even in crystal I don’t want a bowel on display.

I see the hygienist every 6 months and dentist every 12. I’m a weird one as I really enjoy having my teeth cleaned so I used to go quarterly. There’s no clinical need and yesterday I was told I didn’t really need much work so she was going to use the time doing a deeper clean below gums.

In answer to the daily weighing I’ve weighed daily for decades and still do. The difference now is that I only record my weight weekly

Polkadotdash · 21/01/2026 09:43

Oh my gawd @jins it does actually say ‘bowel’. 🤣🤣🤣. Maybe that’s what we all have on WLI ‘a crystal bowel’. Like a glass jaw!

Jins · 21/01/2026 09:46

Indeed it does @Polkadotdash in the link address and on the actual webpage. I’m obviously a child at heart because I find it very funny indeed.

Polkadotdash · 21/01/2026 09:46

@PrepossessingPenelope thank you for your shipping tips. I scoured the home department on my phone last night and chose this print to cheer me up. https://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/product/prod_R04580819
And still have a bit of money left over

tinyemmy · 21/01/2026 10:01

Good luck @HeidiLite

I weigh daily unless I know I've been bad 🤣
Currently scales aren't moving, I'm hoping water retention from all the weights and I will get a whoosh otherwise sadly I need to go back on mj as I am eating less than 1400 cals per day, 10,000 steps per day, 3 - 4 strength workouts and maintaining at 8 stone 10 (I want to be 8 stone 6 again) and eat more food 🤣

26inprogress · 21/01/2026 10:32

That bowel 😂😂
loads of luck tomorrow @HeidiLite, will be thinking of you and hoping for a quick recovery.
I've lost another pound 🎉so just 1 stubborn one left from. Christmas/holidays now.

Glad you found something @Polkadotdashand hope it cheers you up. Such a dismal day here, Mr mouse obviously thinks so too @zempy😱hope he disappears tonight.

meatyryvita · 21/01/2026 10:42

What a beautiful bowel! 😂

Good luck tomorrow @HeidiLite .

@Polkadotdash lovely print - how nice to treat yourself.

All quiet here(ish) as I've been sick with some sort of cold/throat thing for the past few days - tickly cough is keeping me awake at night, which is not aiding my recovery at all!

We were due to have dental check ups last Saturday morning and then I was going off to get my hair done. Check ups cancelled due to sick dentist and then whilst my colour was being done, the stylist called in sick! So much going around at the moment.

We're due to have our new kitchen fitted, starting next week. DH and I took apart the old one at the weekend (it was an old Wickes flatpack) and I sold it on Facebook Marketplace for £100! All goes towards paying some of the trades I guess. The house is in complete disarray as everything has been moved out of the kitchen. Thankfully, we have a very small utility with a sink, which we can use. We had a build a few years ago and at the time, didn't have a sink in there, and it was a complete nightmare. I'm hoping the next two weeks fly by.

HeidiLite · 21/01/2026 11:23

@meatyryvita oh god renovations stress me out so much. The previous owner of our house had fitted a really cheap shitty kitchen and told us that he regrets he got such an 'expensive' one, as surely you want to change your kitchen every 3 years or so. OMG the horror of even the thought of doing a kitchen renovation every 3 years.
We went for a higher end one as I want to keep it as long as possible. Cooking on a hot plate and washing dishes in bathroom sink was no fun whatsoever.

PrepossessingPenelope · 21/01/2026 17:36

Well folks, I am very happy this afternoon despite gaining weight this week. As our dear @myladyjane would say, my ancient ovaries appear not to have given up yet which is rude, shocking and unwelcomed. That probably explains why I have had breast pain off the scale and my weight has gone up instead of down.

It was always my aim to be a size 12 in trousers from my favourite shops, I've had several deliveries today and one of them included size 12 wool trousers from Jigsaw .... they not only fit but they are flattering. Still waiting for the delivery of trousers to match my pre xmas suit but I am hopeful that they will fit.

Who cares what my weigh in says tomorrow tbh, but I will weigh and report in.

I have so many returns ongoing I've started a spreadsheet 😂.

DGmaintaining · 21/01/2026 19:25

Congrats @PrepossessingPenelope on the working ovaries! Glad you’re feeling good and happy with your size. For me the shopping bug struck once I’d hit target and suddenly the floodgates opened. Sitting on my hands now to not spend!

@Polkadotdash glad you found something!

@Jins glad you got on with your new Hygenist, fingers crossed she stays. I now go every 6 months, and even floss on the odd occasion with those special mini toilet brushes, so now my Hygenist sessions are fairly fast and painless and less of a bloody butchering.

Did an intervals and arms peloton ride today, not sure how effective the arms bit was, but it’s something rather than nothing.

Am also feeling good on the 2mg this week. I was on stage presenting yesterday and was generally calm about the whole thing. Got lots of compliments about my calm delivery. So the evening out of moods still going strong, despite that panicky blip I had the other week.

@HeidiLite On weighing regularity - I weigh in the morning after a 💩 and so if I don’t have one that morning then I don’t weigh. So it’s not daily as sometimes my ‘Crystal Bowel’ movement doesn’t happen till later in the day. For the purposes of my current 2mg ‘experiment’ it’s the Sunday weight that counts, but while I was on 2.5mg I let the Renpho app take an average of the week to look at the trend. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow, go easy on yourself, my friend had it and it took a while to heal, don’t skimp on pain relief!

Aimingforearlierbedtimes · 21/01/2026 22:37

I’m still weighing every day. I think at the back of my mind I’m scared that if I don’t weigh for a week I’ll have put 10 kg on without noticing.

PrepossessingPenelope · 22/01/2026 07:15

@DGmaintaining noooooooooo, commiserations. I thought I was done with all that stuff.

Anniversary day here, disappointly I have gained weight this week for no good reason but then I've had a year of shimmying about haven't I? This too shall pass. Nutracheck have updated my goal date this morning after all the messing around this week.

Im planning to use my current pen and stop. Hopefully I will be ok, I've eaten normal food all the way through and haven't stopped eating anything, I hope this will set me up well. I'm planning on weighing daily (as I always have done) and I'll start MJ again if I need to.

Thank you everyone for your company and support 🌸.

@HeidiLite best wishes for today, we will look forward to hearing that it has gone well when you are up to it.

Zempy · 22/01/2026 07:18

Bizarre update. I am 8:3 today. My lowest weight and equal to my lowest ever weight as an adult (when I was 28).

I can probably thank mouse induced stress. Still no signs of him. He’s either found a way out through the boiler pipes, died of the fright of me shouting at him, or he’s just happily living his best life and avoiding the traps.

One more night in the lounge then I am going to be brave and take control over the weekend.

I am very tired and made a mistake just before logging off work last night (shared privileged info) so am expecting a call from the boss first thing 😞

meatyryvita · 22/01/2026 07:30

Ahh @Zempy hopefully it’ll all be forgotten soon enough. Stressful though, I’m sure.

Best of luck today @HeidiLite ! I hope all goes swimmingly.

Hapoy anniversary @PrepossessingPenelope - sorry to read about the gain though - so rude!

@DGmaintaining presenting on a stage?!?! As my kids would say, what an icon!

Weigh in day for me here and somehow, I’ve lost a whole kilo, 2.2lbs. I have focussed on protein this week but as I’ve been unwell (bloody cough still hanging around), I didn’t expect to do well as my water intake ans sleep have been rubbish.

Have a great day losers!

PrepossessingPenelope · 22/01/2026 08:00

I had to scroll up to see 'presenting on stage' - impressive @DGmaintaining , sorry I missed that.

@Zempy ....unbelievable - hopefully Stuart has escaped outside somehow, they really do need the smallest of gaps. Lowest weight ever is impressive but through stress 😫. I hope the work thing is ok.

Great loss @meatyryvita. 💃

Jins · 22/01/2026 08:02

Hope all goes well @HeidiLite and happy anniversary to @PrepossessingPenelope. Hope the move back to your bed goes well @Zempy. I camped out in the living room for ages when my old dog was on his way out and never felt that I’d rested.

I’m supposed to be weighing in tomorrow and jabbing on Saturday but I know already that I’ve gained. Unless something traumatic happens in the bathroom dept I’ll be 1lb up. May jab tomorrow. it’s strange but as the week has worn on I’ve found I’ve had more suppression. My body has changed in the last two weeks or so. My ‘waist’ is slimmer and there’s less fat on my stomach. My bum remains tragic, if I’ve lost muscle that’s where it has gone from. I’ve been working on jeans this week as I’m never going to be able to buy a pair that fits and the amount of adjustments I’m having to make to address the flat bum issue is unbelievable.

DIY upstairs has paused awaiting a plasterer. I’m ready to move my sewing kit upstairs as soon as it’s painted and I’m really looking forward to having a space for all my craft stuff.

26inprogress · 22/01/2026 08:08

Hi everyone

Oh no @PrepossessingPenelopeon the period, rubbish, at least it explains the weight fluctuation I guess… happy MJ anniversary! Ooh clothes deliveries sound good. How was the Hush jacket?

@Zempylack of sleep is the worst, hope work ok, always stressful, I’ve shared privileged information by mistake before, we’re all human but I do get how you’re feeling… Congrats ( I think!) on your weight loss, but sorry it’s through stress. Hope mouse has gone and that you have a good few nights sleep.

@DGmaintainingagree with meaty, presenting on a stage, wow! I’m a confident person but I hate presenting, get so nervous, I could never do that!!

thinking of you today @HeidiLite, hope all goes well.

@meatyryvitahope kitchen reno goes smoothly, think of the end result, will be worth it! Hope you feel better soon and well done on your weight loss, fab news!

@jins,great news on shape change, I think I’m noticing changes too, mostly on my stomach, and collar bone randomly. Hopefully all my exercise paying off! Hope DIY finished soon!

Off on my spa break today, can’t wait!

PrepossessingPenelope · 22/01/2026 08:16

@26inprogress , Hush jacket isn't here yet. Yesterday's keepers included two pairs of wool trousers and a dress. I will be heading out with three returns shortly.

I've got two more trouser suits, the Hush order (dress and jacket for me), five Cos t shirts and a shirt and new knickers from M&S en route. My credit card is wilting atm.

Good news is that I really am shopped out. Hopefully one of the other trouser suits will be keepers and the Hush dress, and pants of course, I am still wearing size 18 pants and they are extremely baggy! I'm confident that the T shirts will be ok.

Missed your last bit - have a wonderful spa break 🎂.

DGmaintaining · 22/01/2026 09:14

Ah @PrepossessingPenelope in that case, my sympathy, hopefully that was the last of the little eggs rolling down the track!

@Zempy tiredness and emails is such a lethal combo. Big hugs. Fingers crossed the fall out isn’t as bad as you think, and it’s just more tiredness causing the worry.

@jins deadlifts, squats & hip thrusters will perk your booty up. I too have a naturally flat bottom (although wide hips). Hip thrusts with a barbell are quite fun!

I only had do to 5 mins on the stage, had an auto cue, plenty of rehearsals, and did my breathing exercises to regulate my nervous system, so was all good. Am actually more nervous about heading in today after sending a work supplier a ‘kick up the arse’ email last night. Shots definitely fired.

Mid-week weigh this morning and am steady at 58.75kg. Already scenario planning on the doses - would be nice to stay on 2mg for a few months and then maybe once it’s spring/summer and I’m able to get up earlier and walk more I’ll see if I can go down to 1.5mg. Just amazed that I’ve been in the same weight range now since Sep.

Zempy · 22/01/2026 09:23

Well done to all the losers!

@HeidiLitegood luck today.

I have no arse @Jinsit is absolutely flat. Never had this body shape before, it’s quite alarming.

@PrepossessingPenelope I remember getting one period a year every January for about three years around menopause!! So annoying!

BlueLimes · 22/01/2026 09:40

Busy at work but popping on to say @HeidiLite hope all goes well. @26inprogress have a great spa day.
Sorry to hear of gains, well done on maintaining and @meatyryvita thats a lovely whoosh.
@PrepossessingPenelope happy anniversary, you’ve done so well.
@Zempy hope the mouse bogs off and your boss is ok.
@DGmaintaining glad tour presentation went well.

Sorry if missed anything.

Thelittlestranger · 22/01/2026 09:53

Good luck @HeidiLite

Lots of ups and downs on the weight for all this week. I weighed today and have gone up half a pound, but blaming that on my poor choices yesterday.

Physio says I have an unstable sacroiliac joint from all my tight muscles which together is causing me all the problems. I did a pilates class this morning, and it's exactly what my body needs. Glutes and core strengthening and stretching. Really enjoyed it, and even better it was free at work. Signed up for next week now.

In the office for the first time in about 5 weeks today - only so I can go for drinks later. Need to press on what's happening with my role via the back channel, as it's all gone quiet. And I just. Don't. Want. To. Be. Here. Any. More. Humph.

Polkadotdash · 22/01/2026 10:39

Good luck for today @HeidiLite and happy birthday @26inprogress
