Hi everyone, starting a second thread as the other one is almost full. We made it through month one, now here’s to a happy, healthy and lighter 2026!

@TaffyTabby I don't think the obsession ever really goes away but being in control of how I'm eating and not having constant food thoughts is so good for my mental health. Someone on another thread said they feel lighter mentally, its so true.

Thats a great loss!

I am still feeling shocking with this virus, its been in my sinuses and I feel so sick. I am worried its the nausea coming back but then read that its common to feel sick with sinus issues. It would be odd that its the jabs as I am day 7 today and been on this dose for 5 weeks now.

Springbaby2023 · 07/01/2026 21:49

@PatheticDistraction sorry your baby has been poorly, hope you’re ok.

Glad you are now at home with your baby @PatheticDistraction - what a stressful time!

Commiserations to anyone feeling unwell - this time of year is a trial, isn't it?

Had my first dose of second 5mg pen on Monday and am feeling quite hungry. Which is annoying. I went for 5mg again partly because of Christmas being a distraction and because I'd prefer to stay in the lower doses as long as possible - mainly because of cost! But now thinking I should have bitten the bullet and gone for 7.5mg.

January might be a bit of a slog if I'm going to be quite hungry. I'm not craving food like crisps or biscuits etc but I saw some stollen left over in the kitchen and had a slice. Previously I would have left it, when I felt mounjaro was working well. Then I had a couple of mint chocolates. Not exactly terrible but it was motivation that seems to have changed.

SexyFrenchDepression · 07/01/2026 22:26

@PatheticDistraction hope January is a quiet and peaceful month for you and that your baby's recovery goes well.

Hi everyone, happy new year.
after a mini breakdown on Christmas Eve I chose not to weigh myself for three weeks over Christmas and New Year. Daily weighing had been messing with my head, so I parked it for a bit. Well actually if I’m honest my scales broke, which felt a bit like divine intervention. I did still track calories, as that gave me some structure, but I tried to take some pressure off overall.
Honestly, it wasn’t easy. Christmas food felt quite triggering at times, and there were parties, convenience food , and days that didn’t feel particularly neat or controlled. I spent a lot of the time worrying I might undo things without realising.
I weighed myself this morning and I’m 4 lb down over that period, which I feel quietly relieved about. So that’s 19lb now in total since I started 8 weeks ago .
I ‘m only going to weigh fortnightly from now on. I’ve also switched to a manual dial scale in kg, which feels much less intense for me.

SexyFrenchDepression · 08/01/2026 11:55

@diggitydoo I struggled with daily weighing also, messed with my head, I weigh on tues and sat now and its been ok for me. I dont like the daily fluctuations and seeing the scales go up then down.

SexyFrenchDepression · 08/01/2026 11:58

Jab day today, have had 5 x 2.5mg then 5 x 3.75. I decided to do just 2.5 today as still suffering from this virus, plus go away for a few days for a city break Sunday so worried that with this illness plus the jabs it is making me more dizzy/tired/nauseas. I am hoping it is just the illness and will subside but not worth taking the chance when I'm going away. Hopefully I wont be starving and want to eat everything in sight 😂 I was undecided as not back till weds night so cant even jab early if I'm struggling so will have to use good old fashioned willpower.

Do you find they do that? Go up and then down?

My experience, with the crappy 10lb i lost, is the same. Somewhere at the end of the week, I suddenly lose the weight. And it might even be up a figure for the day before. I quite like daily weighing to be honest. But I also think this stuff is making me retain water.

Voy asked me very early what I want to do next. I don't know why they asked early. I have cancelled anyway. The extra that you pay them isn't really worth it. So if I want another one, I'll get it from somewhere cheaper.

I've got three doses left - or more - and I'm not even sure if I want to take them. But it seems like such a waste of money not to.

Or I could give myself another week off and then microdose.

It will be interesting to see if they develop pills - does anyone get these days where they just could eat everything in the fridge? It would be really useful for those kinds of days to just be able to take a pill and make your appetite calm down. Maybe one day this will exist.

I don't suppose anyone else is wishing they'd never started? It feels like I really got my hopes up. Maybe there's not enough of us talking about our bad experiences. So all you see online is people saying how great it is. And then the thing that finally persuaded me was two friends who are doing it and having no side effects.

SexyFrenchDepression · 08/01/2026 16:52

@RoundandSad I found that I would weigh myself one day and it would be lower than the day before, then next day slightly higher, then lower again and I became stressed about it. Only weighing twice a week the scales are always lower than the time before which I like. I have loat a minimum of 1.4lb a week, usually more than 2lb though. I get that many people like to see the fluctuations as they can figure out what causes it (eg more carbs the night before, water and so on).

I think that statistically the bad side effects are not that common, when I researched before starting it said things like fatigue, headaches etc were not that common. The common ones such as gastro issues tend to be mild for most and stop quite quickly hence why I think its not discussed as much. I saw a thread pop up today about more severe side effects and the people had come off them after first dose.

Fifiellz · 08/01/2026 17:00

I jump around the same couple of pounds for ages before dropping down so since Xmas I’ve only weighed myself once, overall I find that I’m not really thinking about my weight anymore. I feel comfortable, my clothes fit, I don’t have any negative side effects so I’m just going to keep trundling along.
@RoundandSadI do feel that sadly you have had more side effects than most people on here or that I know in real life so I don’t blame you for feeling like coming off.
Being totally honest I haven’t struggled at all, apart from a couple of days of dizziness, a bit of heartburn if I eat too much and the odd mild headache I’ve felt much better taking it. I don’t even really think about it anymore. Looking back all negative things were in the first 5/6 weeks which I think is quite common

JustBeach · 08/01/2026 17:58

@RoundandSada one off pill does sound amazing if it’s ever available!
i know a few people taking it and have read ALOT of online accounts in my research and I think I agree that unfortunately it does sound like it doesn’t suit you. I would think more people would post online if they had side effects, where as those people who are having an easier time just settle back into normal life. This thread dropped off in the second month, I know I don’t check in as often because life is just normal again. I only really think when I have to jab, or consider what amount to take.
I do still log everything I eat, if only to make sure I’m eating enough. Surely even with mounjaro it’s still calories in being less than are used meaning weight loss. The MJ certainly makes it easier , but I could go over my TDEE with high cal foods if I tried. Although I would have indigestion after I’m sure!
10lbs lost is not bad at all! I’ve only lost just a little more than that. Maybe try getting one of the calorie counter apps and tracking what you are eating while you use your pen up. Other than Wegovy, which I’ve heard positive things about as an alternative to MJ, I’m not sure what else to suggest.
im still weighing daily, unless I forget, I tend to stay the same if I eat normally and then suddenly drop a pound! If I have an alcoholic drink or a lot of bread I can gain a pound though.
I’ve been poorly this week, so had to delay stepping up with the exercise. Really ready though as I’m starting to feel a bit weak! That is one thing that worries me- loss of muscle tone especially as I’m approaching menopause. Once i’m better and eating normally I’m really focusing on upping my protein intake and building some muscle back.

TaffyTabby · 08/01/2026 18:21

It must feel unfair that this medication hasn’t suited you @RoundandSad . Honestly I also haven’t suffered much with side effects, and the ones I’ve had have felt worth it for the losses.

Is it worth trying one of the other weight loss meds?

66babe · 08/01/2026 18:33

So I’ve just done my Thursday jab . Did 5mg for the first time after 3.75 x 2 and 2.5mgs x 4
Only lost 1 lb this week which was a bit disappointing so 1 stone 5 lbs in total
Hoping for no side effects and a better loss next week.

Possiges · 09/01/2026 09:51

Does any share a pen (with a change needle of course) with a partner? I know the manufacturer says not to, but just wondering whether it is safe to do so in reality?

TaffyTabby · 09/01/2026 11:16

@Possiges I don’t but if it’s your partner and you’re careful about hygiene eg wiping seal with alcohol wipe and using a new needle, I think the risks are tiny and not much to worry about.

Another idea would be order two pens to begin with, then get a higher dose than you need so the next pen lasts 8 weeks rather than 4, and alternate who gets the new one each month. Hope that makes sense.

I’ve done my 3rd jab of 3.75mg but slightly regretting it as it’s very very slow weight loss. 8 weeks in and only down 11lbs with scales STILL yo yo’ing!
I was really worried about the nausea on 5mg but next week will bite the bullet even though it will only be 4.37mg!!
Don’t suppose anyone knows what the clicks are for that?!

TaffyTabby · 09/01/2026 14:09

How come 4.37? Is that just what you’ll have left in the pen? May be better to draw it up and work it out from what volume you get?

I took 4mg on Wednesday evening and today I am feeling so full despite only having a coffee, soup and an apple so far today. Feel like I’m v sensitive to the effect of MJ and glad I’m going up slowly. I don’t think I could have gone from 2.5 to 5mg in one go.

SexyFrenchDepression · 09/01/2026 14:22

After going back down to 2.5mg I am feeling no different appetite wise which is good, still suffering from this virus so that may be masking it also. Hopefully not though.

I tried to get 2.5mg out of the pen using clicks but as had already used 225 clicks it stopped so I used a syringe instead. If I was doing a full dose I would have tried a hard twist. The syringes are easy but the needles are so flimsy I wasted one not being careful enough as completely bent it. Still have about 5mg left in that pen so if 2.5 goes ok this week I might just stick to low dose until I plateau.

user593 · 09/01/2026 16:00

I know I’m being a pain but could anyone post a description or a link for what I should be getting if in need to extract doses manually? Thank you!

Do you mean what syringes you need?

Yes! Sorry, I was being vague 😴

This is what I ordered https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk

user593 · 09/01/2026 20:04

Thank you - so far I’m taking 3.75mg out of a 5mg pen and it seems a shame to waste the rest!

Springbaby2023 · 09/01/2026 20:12

I’ve felt lacking in motivation this week, I think seeing all these negative articles and threads on WLIs plus a 2lb gain over Christmas has been making me question why I’m spending all my money on it. Definitely not found it as effective either. Hoping that being back on 5mg probably next week and hopefully a decent weigh in will kick in my motivation again. Also need to get back to my exercise routine.

I think the novelty has worn off for me a bit now, which I guess the whole point now is to keep pushing when usually I’d give up on a diet!

Possiges · 09/01/2026 20:35

Oooh thanks. I was thinking of ordering these ones. I got some from my local chemist but the needle length is HUGE. About an inch. 8 mm is the shortest I can find online. The pens themselves are only 4mm but I can’t find any needles that short anywhere.
