Hi everyone, starting a second thread as the other one is almost full. We made it through month one, now here’s to a happy, healthy and lighter 2026!

Hope the higher dose goes well for you both!

I’ve been hungrier the last day or so but I think I’m going to stick at 5mg (or more accurately 4.88mg because I’m counting clicks from a 7.5mg pen) for the next couple months if I can. I am probably going to take MJ long term so I’m happy to take things slower.

I had a nice NSV today when someone at work asked if I had lost weight. I’m about 24 lbs down now.

I’ve noticed the increase in anxiety and irritability I was experiencing seems to have reduced, and my mood feels nicely stable and I think I can focus better.

I have read that MJ might treat ADHD symptoms. I’m not diagnosed with it but I think I have some traits.

SexyFrenchDepression · 04/02/2026 14:42

@TaffyTabby I suspect that I have ADHD, since starting MJ I havr definitely noticed a change. I have found keeping the house tidier easier and also have not been avoiding 'sorting' jobs which I usually do. I do feel better mentally but not sure if that is because I don't hate how I look any more.

Oh and yes, i had a nice experience this week too. I saw my friends partner at my sports club this week and chatted to him, havent seen him since before I start the jabs. She messaged me to say that he'd mentioned I looked like I had lost a lot of weight. 2 stone 5 lb since I saw him last so I am very happy he noticed. He has only ever known me at my bigger size so I imagine its easier for him to tell!

user593 · 04/02/2026 14:52

@SexyFrenchDepression It’s nice when people notice I think! Although I know some people don’t like it. Annoyingly DP has lost almost exactly the same amount of weight as me (on Wegovy) but because he was starting from a much lower base it’s much more noticeable and when we’re together everyone mentions his weight loss but not mine 😅

SexyFrenchDepression · 04/02/2026 14:56

@user593 so far everyone has been really nice about it, I feel like during the winter I only see a much smaller group of people and they are all lovely, will be interesting to see when I start socialising more in the summer 😂

Thats annoying re your DH 🙈

user593 · 04/02/2026 15:12

@SexyFrenchDepression Also summer outfits will show off the weight loss more! I’m wearing about five different layers whenever I go out right now 😅

This made me smile. I’ve been thinking the same. I’m so cold I am wearing enough layers of clothes to almost pad me back out to pre 2.5 stone loss size! Swapped my old leggings for thick fleece lined ones so I’ve even padded out my legs 🤣

Haha so true! Hidden under a puffer jacket also 😂😂

tobee · 05/02/2026 19:41

Still ok on 7.5mg. 👍

The only thing is I keep overthinking this dose. I'm so keen to get back to feeling better sated on this dose and I'm overthinking how that's going. I think it's fine but I hope it lasts me most of the week unlike 5mg which seemed to massively drop after 3 days quite early on using the pen and then worse on last couple of shots.

I think it's probably because I've had a quiet day today and less distraction. Also I've almost forgotten what it was like when I first started.

Summer? What's that? 🤔 This miserable, endless rain. Hoping we don't get one of those drab years when it just rains and the only difference is a few degrees higher temperatures for a summer.

RoundandSad · 05/02/2026 20:00

This might be a silly question, but because I didn't progress upwards I don't have any real life experience

Why do people increase the dose? Is it because they get used to it? Or should they see a higher weight loss on a higher dose?

I tried going up to 5, then 3.75 but was even struggling with 2.5 so it's kind of irrelevant but I'm still here because worried that I might not lose any weight once I stop.

Springbaby2023 · 05/02/2026 21:10

@tobee Don’t say that…. Last summer was incredible with all that sunshine, I can’t stand the thought of another dreary one!!! I am finding 7.5mg fine, I have extreme tiredness today but I do usually a couple of days after the jab and also my youngest had my up loads last night.

@RoundandSad for me with both 2.5mg and 5mg I noticed that the suppression was wearing off by the third and fourth pen. I’ve not had loads of suppression anyway compared to some people, but I noticed a decline and was having to use more willpower. I think I could have got by on 5mg for another month but I didn’t want to risk suppression wearing off completely. Although more expensive 7.5mg felt better value for money if it means continuing to lose weight at a level I’m happy with. I’d also not got this reduced food noise people spoke about whereas I think I am getting it now.

RoundandSad · 05/02/2026 22:00

@Springbaby2023 thank you

What I find is, I feel pretty rubbish a lot of the time

Appetite suppression is quite good for about three days. Do other people find it consistent across seven days? It's useful to have the suppression even for three days. And then having to manage it the rest of the time is good too because that's what life will be like normally. I originally wanted it as a three month kickstart.

I've got a spare pen in the fridge I was meant to take it on Sunday, but I was so relieved to just feel normal, I didn't

I'm obviously aware that it's time to make a decision because otherwise it will be like going back to the beginning and probably worse side-effects

Actually, my first week wasn't too bad. It was the second week that the problems really started, especially with the constant headache.

Ironically, I didn't have a constant headache with my last dose - perhaps it's taking me a whole three months to get used to 2.5!

I rather wish I hadn't bought the spare.

I still find it hard to compute that people are doing so well on this and I'm not it's almost like I don't wanna give up on it

I'm down to a stone off now near enough by about half pound, I guess

RoundandSad · 05/02/2026 22:07

Sorry, I forgot to say that sometimes I can't tell if I'm getting the appetite suppressant effect or I just don't want to eat because the side-effects make me feel ill

it's not been a good experience so it's really strange that the last week wasn't too bad

TaffyTabby · 05/02/2026 22:34

I definitely don’t find the suppression stays the same. The pattern seems to be that it’s strongest days 2-4 for me. The days before the jab I definitely have more of an appetite.

I’m day 2 today and managed half a sandwich and half a burger and a cup of tea. Not great eating. Finding it hard to get quality food in when I’m feeling so full and unbothered by food.

SexyFrenchDepression · 05/02/2026 22:38

@RoundandSad maybe it just has taken longer for you to get used to it, I know a couple of people who have only ever done 2.5mg and felt a bit hungry but not enough to overeat so never bothered going up.

My assumption is that going up the doses should increase suppression, some people don't get much at all till the really high doses. It doesn't make you lose any more weight, you'd lose the same amount on the same calorie deficit however you did it presumably?

At first my appetite was suppressed as I felt so sick, now I feel completely normal on 2.5mg but just dont feel like overeating so it is still easy to stay in a deficit. I am not losing at a fast rate now at all but that is expected I guess. I have only felt completely normal for maybe 2 weeks. I did have a few days each week where I felt normal but still half the week I felt a bit weird and would happily not have eaten at all. I dont know if I was just managing with the nausea/tiredness because the results were worth it, or because I had half a week feeling ok it wasnt that bad. When I had sinusitis I felt like giving up as my nausea was like constant travel sickness and I couldn't get off the sofa.

A stone is brilliant though, its just such a shame its been such a tough ride for you. Hopefully not having a headache means you have turned a bit of a corner 🤞

tobee · 05/02/2026 23:00

Same as @Springbaby2023 - my reasons for going up. I didn't want to be on 5mg for a 3rd month and it being a waste of money. I felt more tempted to eat carelessly - to eat chocolate and to root around in the fridge for something. I felt more like I feel when dieting before mounjaro. I don't want to spend £x on something that wasn’t supporting me enough.

I've been losing 1lb, 1.5lb and occasionally 2lb a week still but I had to work harder. I was eating more food. I don't calorie count because it always does my head in and the effort has been one of the reasons I've given up previously. I find it almost impossible to eat family meals and strictly calorie count. So I feel satisfied on small meals that's great. I mostly eat breakfast and dinner only. But feel relaxed if someone offers me a biscuit or a cake. I don't crave more if the dose is working.

Also, I've still been doing 3 x a week fast days 3:4 which in practice has been one meal of approximately 500 calories a day. It doesn't seem like a healthy way to eat on mounjaro but it's a hard habit to drop. You worry about gaining weight.

Yes I've wondered if people who have more side effects are good responders.

Springbaby2023 · 06/02/2026 04:28

@RoundandSad I’d say I feel normal for half the week and then suffer with side effects for the other half. If I had them all the time I don’t think I’d continue but for now I feel I can live with a few days of feeling terrible if it means I’m shifting the weight. I don’t plan on being on MJ too long though as at some point I want to just feel normal again. The reason I’m up at this time is because I’ve been up all night feeling sick and with a headache - exact same thing happened last Thursday night so I think that’s when the side effects peak for me. I know I’ll feel rubbish all day today but then over the weekend start feeling better and back to normal.

@Springbaby2023 so sorry you're feeling so rubbish! Hope it stops soon.

The worst I felt was when I got my period, felt like I had flu and so sick. This is the 1st month I have been back to normal with that, guess its just taken a bit of time. I forget we have only been doing this 3 months so not a long time really.

TaffyTabby · 06/02/2026 16:51

I dunno if I’m being silly but I swear people, particularly men, are being nicer to me. I have also had my hair done and I’m making more effort in general.

Also maybe TMI but husband seems to be more interested too - ha

BlueMum16 · 06/02/2026 19:14

Starting weight 15 stone 10 (size 18)
Target weight maybe 11 stone (size 12)
Current weight 14 stone 8.6 lbs

Can't remember last time I posted. Sorry I've not been around to encourage/support everyone.

Been a bit disheartened past few weeks. Weight loss is slow, just over a stone but has taken ages. Dropped a size in my jeans, just squeezing into my size 16s which is good. No one has commented yet though. Still no real side affects, little bit of heartburn on and off.

I'm stretching my jab so on week 4 of my third pen, it'll have 6 doses of Wegovy. I'm happy to lose slowly, particularly due to the cost but I am really worried about when I stop and piling it back on. DH is doing amazing with big losses still. I bet he's lost 6 or 7 stone but he's been on it just over 12 months and wants to lose another 2-3 stone. I'm not sure I can cope with us both putting the weight back on once we're at target but trying not to think about that yet.

Keep going everyone. I'll try and read some of the more recent posts to catch up.

Springbaby2023 · 06/02/2026 20:34

@SexyFrenchDepression Thank you, I’m now full of a cold so it obviously wasn’t just the MJ. I definitely seem to be finding though that if I’m under the weather for something else, the MJ side effects make it worse, or vice versa.

@BlueMum16 Sounds like you’re doing great! I’ve lost 1st 6lb and it’s only this week people have started noticing it so hopefully won’t be long for you. Putting it all back on is a huge worry for me too, I don’t want to be on this longer term, really want to be able to try and keep it off by myself. But I guess we can only cross that bridge when we come to it, and I always think at least we’ve giving it a go.

Although someone said they like what I'd done to my hair. I've done nothing to my hair!
