How are you after Sunday @Springbaby2023 ?

@RoundandSad I've been on mounjaro since 10th November and I've only just got to a stone down. I'm another not losing fast. We are not alone.

Springbaby2023 · 20/01/2026 12:02

@tobee I’m ok thanks, stomach still wasn’t great yesterday morning but was fine by the afternoon! Definitely think it was the greasy pizza. By youngest was sick too but just once so I don’t think we had a bug - I think I ate too much pizza and he ate too much ice cream 🤣

I’ve had a bad headache since I woke up at 4.30am. Took paracetamol first thing, ibuprofen at lunch time and more paracetamol this evening. I had 3-4 days of solid headache in week two but I’m on week 13 now so not sure why it would have come back. Could be unrelated to jabs obviously but it’s really painful and no other symptoms. Will see what tomorrow brings.

Hope you feel better soon. I have found that it is really hard to figure out if its the jabs or something else. Early on taking them I had really bad nausea then it was fine, I had a dreadful sinus infection over xmas and the nausea was awful, however it can be a sympton of sinus infections. I started to feel quite low about it, but it just went once I felt better.

TaffyTabby · 21/01/2026 08:43

I think because they build up over weeks, you can be on your third or forth jab of the same dose and still be reaching higher levels of the drug in your blood than you’ve had before.
I Took 5mg last week and still feeling a lot of appetite suppression today.

I’ve got 5mg left in the pen and don’t know whether to do 5mg again or break it up in to two 2.5mg as I think I’ve moved up too quickly. Having said that, I’m not getting many side effects besides possibly irritability (also it’s possible it’s just me…!)

JustBeach · 21/01/2026 13:29

Well I remembered to jab on Monday after forgetting on Sunday, I’ll stick to Monday now.. or I might start spreading them out for 8 days? I’ve not had a loss of effects.
I’ve also had my first ever whoosh! I’ve been stuck at 9.7 for over 2 weeks and losing 1lb a week before. I weighed myself this morning and have lost over 2lb overnight! I ate normally yesterday too, and am still on 2.5mg. I’m so happy!! 5lb to go to goal!

user593 · 21/01/2026 16:00

Well done @JustBeach 👏

I was supposed to jab on Sunday but haven’t been feeling well. I think it’s partly constipstion (sorry, TMI!). I think I’ll jab tonight though as I’m worried about how overdue it is even though I still have very little appetite. I’ve ordered some psyllium husk capsules. Having a slower week this week (for me), but still managed 2.2lbs. Hoping for a whoosh when I get these issues sorted out!

user593 · 22/01/2026 09:42

It might be a coincidence but the psyllium husk capsules seem to be working (in case anyone else is having similar issues!).

OhCobblers · 22/01/2026 10:40

I’m so very relieved that I feel completely ok on 5mg so far - phew!! As I was very worried about nausea! What I find astonishing is that when I do eat I get to the point of feeling full and just stop straight away - no matter how much food is left on the plate I literally cannot eat a mouthful more! That is amazing for me!!

Springbaby2023 · 22/01/2026 11:18

@OhCobblers I’ve not yet hit that feeling, I feel like I still need to really listen to my body and make a concerted effort to stop. Although I guess that’s good practice for coming off. I’m definitely eating smaller portions, but they are still bigger than they need to be.

@user593 I may need to look into that, I’ve been ok recently but I am increasing my dose soon so might have more side effects.

I’ve tentatively lost another 2lb… I don’t officially log my weight until Saturday but I was down 2lb today so hoping it stays off. Only quarter of a pound away from the 12s FINALLY.

I have the fear, just finished a Hello fresh pasta meal. First time I’ve enjoyed pasta since starting the jabs really, but as I took the last mouthful realised chorizo wasn’t the best idea after my dodgy stomach following a cured meat pizza on Sunday. Wish me luck! Genuinely enjoyed it so much I forgot I was on MJ.

Hopefully you'll be ok as they tend to be pretty good ingredients with little added crap. Hope you're ok!

I had a bit left in my last pen, was hoping enough for 2.5 but only got out 1.7 so I am not sure how this week will go. I looked at my shotsy graph and my levels on day 5 will be the same as day 7 on 2.5 so if need be I can jab early. I could have just started another pen but thought I'd give it a go 😬

I have felt hungrier last week and this week but still have a small appetite and dont seem to be worried about eating at all, the no food noise seems to be the biggest issue for me. I have always liked feeling hungry (probably a knock of from disordered eating as a teen) but as I got older I then have my brain thinking about everything I want to eat and I just give in.

Springbaby2023 · 22/01/2026 21:19

@SexyFrenchDepression Hopefully you’re right! How does shotsy work? Is it tailored to you? The last two weeks I’ve been jabbing on day 5 instead of seven (partly as I wanted to change my jab day back to Tuesday) and I am finding that’s working so well for me. I’m still going to go up to 7.5mg but contemplating doing 6mg five days apart instead of 7.5mg a week apart, no idea if that’s a thing.

OP posts:
SexyFrenchDepression · 22/01/2026 21:23

@Springbaby2023 on the shotsy app you log the jabs (date and time) and it shows you your projected levels. I accidentally paid for it as didnt cancel after the trial so not sure what the paid for extras actually are. I believe the weight plotting and the levels graph are on the free version though. You can log side effects also. I've attached screenshots so you can see.

I think its really useful for monitoring side effects on certain days/doses.

TaffyTabby · 23/01/2026 08:33

I paid for Shotsy because you only get the estimated levels with the paid version (and the first seven days when it’s a trial). I do find it v helpful.

So I took everything that was left in the end of my 5mg pen on Wednesday, and it worked out as 5.8mg dose. I feel SO full today (Shotsy is showing I’m at the peak level) and just don’t want to eat at all. So I am going to drop down to 4-5mg going forward. This is definitely too much!

ChristmasCalsDoCount · 23/01/2026 08:45

@TaffyTabby you still get estimated levels on the free version, but not in a chart. Just on the calendar view day by day.

TaffyTabby · 23/01/2026 08:52

Oh yeah! I think the thing I paid for was being able to see what your estimated levels would be on a day/time in the future.

SexyFrenchDepression · 23/01/2026 13:20

I find this really useful to see the levels going forward, it will be especially useful when going down doses to potentially stop it, but like you say understanding when its too high a dose if increasing also.

SexyFrenchDepression · 24/01/2026 11:41

Weigh in day today. 1.2lb off, lowest loss so far but I havent only restarted counting calories last couple of days since being ill and on a very loss dose right now. I need to get back on track with my food as have eaten very little but not really the balance I want/need.

12lbs from goal so happy with 1lb a week of course as that will hopefully help me maintain rather than losing more. I am going to atart weight training again next week so I am expecting to maybe stay the same for a bit but need to start toning up again as I've been lazy!

RoundandSad · 24/01/2026 13:03

@SexyFrenchDepression

I haven't been on I didn't realised you weren't well, sorry to hear that

what dosage are you on atm?

SexyFrenchDepression · 24/01/2026 13:19

RoundandSad · 24/01/2026 13:03

@SexyFrenchDepression

I haven't been on I didn't realised you weren't well, sorry to hear that

what dosage are you on atm?

I had an awful sinus infection, made me really sick so I reduce the dose to see if it helped. It lasted about 4 weeks which is so frustrating. Having no energy was horrible, I wonder if the jabs made it worse also, obviously no way of telling of course.

I am back on 2.5 from 3.75 but only had 1.67mg left in the pen so took that this week. I'll do 2.5 next week then see how I feel before potentially going back up.

RoundandSad · 24/01/2026 13:31

@SexyFrenchDepression oh yes, the sinus infection

I thought that had gone away because I thought you'd gone back to the gym

Sorry it's dragging on. Have you had some antibiotics? Sinus infections are awful.

I've been reading a lot about people coming off the medication and I think sticking at 2.5 is probably right especially as you're nearly done?

I was vaguely thinking last week that perhaps I should try going up again, but actually it's not a bad thing to be on low dose?

I'm not really sure I can face going up anyway

Then you read all this stuff about 2.5 not being a therapeutic dose and it's so confusing

I will go over the notes from the weeks I took more, but the last dose I had was less than 2 and the headache only lasted a day

So either I'm getting used to it or it's better for me to take a lower dose

But if I don't lose anything, there's no point taking it

Confusing.

SexyFrenchDepression · 24/01/2026 13:42

@RoundandSad I started back at the gym then got ill and half heartedly went back. I eventually got ABs as was going away for 4 days with my son, the sinus stuff cleared up in about 2 days after that but nausea remained, I started feeling good on Monday and went back to my sports club and it felt so good. Amazing the difference from 6 weeks previous where I was heavier.

I will definitely give 2.5 a go and if I'm not starving and still feel able to stick to a deficit I'll stay on that. I am not sure how I will come off it yet. I have 12.8lb to go now, 2st1.2 off so far.

Yeah its strange re them saying its not a therapeutic dose, I have a tiny appetite on it and full quickly, I was eating quite a lot prior to taking the jabs. I know a couple of people who had a lot to lose and never needed to go higher than 2.5 so it is strange how it works.

RoundandSad · 24/01/2026 15:31

@Springbaby2023 well I really hope your recovery is properly happening this time I had a sinus infection for three weeks once and I was just desperate to get rid of it. I went to a walk-in because I couldn't get a GP appointment and they were quite cross. They said I should give it longer.

I wonder if people just go up through the doses of MJ,because they expect bigger losses

But certainly on here people seem to be getting huge losses in the first place so it's kind of puzzling

Obviously, you have to pay more for higher doses

But I've read so much on here and Reddit
I wonder if people are finding that they get used to it - reporting that they are suddenly overeating seems quite common

I would say my appetite suppression is low or middling but I don't know what's normal

I still have to count calories I think if I eat naturally, I would go over 1500 unless I keep it in check

I suppose if I had been free of side-effects, which I think most people say they are, then I might have wanted to go up

I think statistically they say that only 20% of people get side-effects

I actually think it's probably higher, but people maybe don't report it because just want to keep taking the medication

I've lost track, but I think I might have posted that comment on another thread here - and one person did post and say she would battle any and all side effects to lose weight. Said it was all mind over matter.

I find it weird because I felt so healthy before taking this medication - this is the first week that I felt pretty normal. I realise that if you felt unhealthy, then the medication may be fixing other problems. Like people talk about inflammation, I had to check out what that means.

SexyFrenchDepression · 24/01/2026 17:31

@RoundandSad I think the main reason people go up is to get the higher appetite suppression so it's easier to stay in a calorie deficit. I do see on here people say they are not losing even with a calorie deficit so want to increase the dose but I dont see how it'll make that much difference if the calories are being calculated correctly as in weighing everything and the TDEE is calculated right. I guess if they have an insulin issue then the higher doses probably work better. A lot of people dont feel appetite suppression till 10mg+ however feel the worst side effects on 7.5 for some reason.

I would only maintain on 1500 so I know I need 1200-1300 for a small loss if I am not exercising loads. I dont even think its the same for people the same weight or height as me as is so personal really and is a lot of trial and error.

Appetite suppression wise I could easily go to 7/8pm and not eat at all as long as I was drinking water. Its crazy.

I definitely felt like I had inflammation. I looked puffed out like my weight was way too much for my frame. I get that I was only about 1.5stone above healthy BMI but it looked a lot for me, others carry it so much better. Mine was definitely bloated tummy and face!

I dont report any side effects when ordering the pens as I just want to get the order done simply. I imagine others are the same.
