Welcome fellow maintainers to our third thread! Tis the season to be joyful and we do have reasons to be joyful, as we are still here. Not always the perfect journey and full of treats and temptations, but we'd have nothing to talk about otherwise. So hop on the Magical Maintenance Sleigh of Wonder and lets go! (Apologies to all those reading this for the first time in March! I got a bit carried away my festive season puns.)

@MJBear sounds like you have a good plan in place. Are you hoping to lose a bit more or stay where you are?

@minnel sorry if you have mentioned before if you are at goal weight now. I can't remember! 😬

I reached my goal weight some time ago and have been trying to maintain ever since. Gave up on Mounjaro last year because of the price increase and I have gained at least a stone!

1 year on
down from a size 14-16 to a 10-12
from c80kgs to a low of 57, albeit currently 65.

so I had gone from obese BMI to healthy but am not classified as overweight

so. I restarted MJ at 2.5 this week. Having stopped in early December.

hoping to stay on this dose and see where I end up and then I plan to spend another year on MJ maintaining before I come off it again ….. Fingers crossed!!

well done warriors!!!

@MJBear so did you gain 8kg since stopping in Dec

or 17.6lbs

that can’t be right ? I’m a lb girl so had to covert

I darennt as def don’t went to gain a stone

Placestogo · 10/02/2026 11:33

Weighted this morning and ive lost 0.5kg or rather my weight fluctuations are 0.5kg below my average weight for thepast couple of weeks.
which is good. I do want to drop ideally 7kg (a stone) so i am in “normal” bmi territory but i want to do it on a microdose and through exercising.
Also im 50yo, still having refular periods and want to go back on contraception of some sort. What works best with MJ? Mirena coil was good in the past. What are people experiences? Im worried it might make things a lot harder weight wise?
(i am on 2mg every 6 days)

MargoLivebetter · 10/02/2026 16:39

Apologies for being so quiet, I’m on holiday this week. Hope everyone is doing ok and not being tempted by food as a distraction from the endless wet grey! Back online again next week.

Yep. I went from 57 to 65 kgs since I stopped MJ in early / mid Dec and when I wrote the above! So yes 8kgs / almost 18lbs. Between 9 Dec and 5 Feb. About 1kg a week. Which was the rate I was losing it at in the early days.

now let’s be clear. I was not dieting over the break. But nor was I stuffing myself until I was sick.

However. Eating 5 chocolate oranges in a week probably isn’t helpful either!!!!!!

eye opening

so now we go again.

Have started at 2.5 of MJ. I got up to 7.5 and the first time round I lost even at 2.5 so stayed there for 2 months. Will be interesting how it goes this time!

Hi @margolivebetter
i would like to get to around 55kgs. About smack in the middle of the healthy bmi range for my height.

id like to get there slowly. Say 1/2kg a week loss.

and then I’d like to maintain it for a year whilst still being on MJ. And during that time I’d like to build some muscle and increase the number of calories my body needs at rest. As well as improve my flexibility, my strength, my balance and my all round “healthiness”

we shall see. I’m a busy working mum with a big job and an annoying husband. So perhaps I’ll need to take longer to get the body!!!

ShrankLastWinter · 10/02/2026 19:55

“I’m a busy working mum with a big job and an annoying husband.”

This is so hilariously relatable

Merlin23 · 10/02/2026 20:33

@MJBear
I feel much the same as you. I would like to get another 2-3lbs off to be about the same weight as you. Then I'm planning on staying on mj until next January. So I can get my body to reset. Im too worried to come off completely for a while.
Luckily I only work 3 days but my days are full on.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/02/2026 00:00

@MJBear I think it just proves how easily it is to gain weight back

yes the terrys didn’t help 🙀😂 but that wasn’t why

we all have to be so careful now

I’m struggling with bad snacks and food noises and haven’t had any for months. TBH I didn’t even think I did have food noises but I cleanest do with what I’m eating these past few weeks

im sure you will get it back off again

tinyemmy · 11/02/2026 09:27

I'm really struggling. I'm avoiding the scales as I just can't stop binging. I'm on holiday next week but I think I will be jabbing 2.5 on Monday 23rd when I get back!

FurForksSake · 11/02/2026 09:33

@tinyemmy sorry you are struggling, sounds like a plan. The good thing is that hopefully having access to the meds we can notice when things are not going as well as we’d like and correct the course.

Don’t avoid the scales. Take responsibility for the bingeing. Do you think it’s due to hunger or something else?

It's definitely not hunger. I think it's potentially ADHD dopamine seeking.
Maybe I will weigh tomorrow and maybe it won't be as bad as I think it will be? I am going to the gym 3 - 4 times per week doing strength based workouts, I'm healthy. I just know I've put on weight. I can see if but my brain refuses to work with me. I did maintenance at 2.5mg for 7 months and thought it would be enough, although I have also increased my gym sessions so that will have made me more hungry (but not enough to explain how I have been eating / gorging in sweet treats).

Hi @tinyemmylovely to see a fellow Jan 25er! Sorry to hear you’re struggling. I was the same but thanks to support here and a bit of soul searching, I’m back on track. I found that extending my dose window wasn’t working for me. I’ve committed to 5mg weekly for now and so far so good, I’ve dropped 21/2 pounds of my. Christmas weight. Just a couple to go. If you’re skiing next week you’ll be doing loads of exercise. I agree with others, hop on the scales, you may be surprised. It won’t be fat either, it doesn’t go on that quickly, maybe a few days of high protein, lots of water may help before holiday? Good luck and remember we’re all human and we’ll all have these times, that’s what life is!

Choccyface · 11/02/2026 12:16

Started in Jun 25 and mainly stayed on 2.5 (did 4 wks of 3.75) MJ. Stopped taking end of November as lost 2.5stone. Despite a few pound gained over Xmas I’m more or less maintaining my weight - really hard as the food noise is back but determined not to go back to old bad habits. Good luck everyone x

Placestogo · 11/02/2026 12:24

@tinyemmy@Choccyface i was really struggling last week but i think it was due to my periods. This week i am making time for a proper breakfast and a proper lunch with lots of protein and fiber. It is a faff to prepare but it really helps me not to feel the munchies come 5pm.
i hope you’ll findyour mojo back very soon xx

Agree don’t avoid scales or won’t know the damage or not

I’m having a hungry /snacky week an have all snacks saying eat me

it’s not good !

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/02/2026 12:36

Sounds so similar to me @tinyemmy. I’ve been happy maintaining on 5 for months but last few weeks I can’t stop eating 3 meals. Thats fine

but then all the bad snacks every day

i think im going to jab 7.5 this week as a one off and see if will kick start me again.

LadyClumber · 11/02/2026 12:52

Hi all, anyone here maintaining with Swift? If so, can I ask you what is your BMI? I’m a bit confused- their website says they will support down to BMI 20 but I have been informed via email that they won’t prescribe below BMI 21. At BMI 21, my waist hip ratio is in the ‘danger’ zone - I am a classic (very) slim hipped apple. I am an existing Swift customer if that makes a difference.

FurForksSake · 11/02/2026 12:58

Is your BMI close to 21? With clothes on and a breakfast and a decent drink I’m sure if they needed it to be 21 it could be.

Mine is around 22.5. My bodyfat is now v low but I’m ripped / muscular.

FurForksSake · 11/02/2026 16:14

@MeridaBrave how long do you think it took for you to get ripped?

I feel like I don’t want to get any bigger or smaller really but I would really, really like to lower my fat percentage and massively improve my muscle. It feels like they can take years though.

LadyClumber · 11/02/2026 20:59

@FurForksSake and @MeridaBrave - I am a smidge under BMI 20 and my smart scales tell me I am slim muscular but I definitely am not ripped. Plenty of room for improvement there!

The list of Monj maintenance providers also says that the lowest BMI they support for maintenance is BMI 20. The lowest joining BMI is 21 so perhaps Swift customer service mistakenly thought I was a new customer ?
