Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

@MummyInTheNecropolis blown away!!! What an incredible achievement and inspiration you are to us all here.

I hope you have factored in a proper treat (in addition to the mince pie) whether that be a weekend in Paris or a new mattress or a leather trench coat ....

one million percent agree with this!!!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne That’s amazing, you’re so close!

I’m hoping to lose 2.2lbs a week but it might be wishful thinking, I will have to see how it goes.

I did the 1:1 Diet twice years and years ago and lost 1st a month but it was a hard slog with meal replacements, and no familiar food.

You might for a while, then it'll slow right down.
It has for all of us.
One you've lost the first six stone it seems to go much more slowly. But that's normal, and as long as it's going down, that's what we want.

My Shotsy Unwrapped has really made me smile too. This is just my mj journey- I had already lost nearly 3 stone (on my own).

All these banana totals from Shotsy are making me think of the shipping crates filled with bananas that washed up on the south coast recently! Maybe that's where all the bananas came from....🍌🍌🍌

I have just had an interesting conversation with ChatGPT about my weight loss graph. I wanted a mathematical analysis of the curve, so dropped a screenshot into it and asked for a mathematical description of the curve. But it also picked up, from the axes labels, that it represented a weight loss process. It gave me lots of interesting analysis both mathematically and practically, including that:

"You’ve already reached the natural flattening zone
Any further loss is possible, but it won’t follow the same curve
Progress beyond this point requires a new intervention, not just time"

Which is interesting as I think this has started to dawn on me! If I carry on without making any real changes then weight loss will be minimal or nothing, and essentially I am maintaining without meaning to.

My weight has finally got moving again after a bit of stagnation. I’m now down 26lbs in the 25 days since I started. Had my last 2.5mg shot on Wednesday and feeling peckish today so it might be the right time to go up to 5mg, but I’ll be doing it on Christmas Eve!

Not wanting to sound negative as you’ve had such a brilliant start, but I’d probably stick to 2.5mg if you’re injecting on Christmas Eve. The jump from 2.5 to 5 is quite big and I’ve read many a thread on here where people have been unwell with their first 5 - I’d hate for it to spoil your Christmas.

Everdecreasingcircle · 19/12/2025 23:45

Many many congratulations @MummyInTheNecropolis and @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I am so pleased for you and your losses.
I am now down 49% of my body weight which I struggle to comprehend. Finally I am starting to feel okay in this new body…struggled for ages to comprehend the size 12 woman in the mirror. Time does help and 20months down the line am staring back at half of myself in the mirror and smiling 😊
It is so worth the work.

user593 · 20/12/2025 00:12

@Novjaro I was thinking that but I might have left it too late. I’ve got a 5mg pen I bought before the price increase but I might see if I can order a 2.5mg in time 🙈

Novjaro · 20/12/2025 00:19

@user593 you could do half a dose of the 5 pen by counting ‘clicks’ - 30 clicks is half a dose and 60 is a full dose. Or you could do a few more than 30 as a step up to the 5mg. Can explain more tomorrow if I’m not making sense!

That makes sense, maybe 45 clicks next week and then the full dose the week after when I can afford to feel a bit unwell. Thank you!

Use the 5mg pen to give yourself 2.5mg doses.
You can use a needle and syringe to draw up 0.3ml of 5mg strength MJ. That's 2.5mg.

Or you can count 30 clicks and use the pen with its own needle.

I wouldn't go up a dose in Christmas eve! I'd wait til the week after.

Shotsy finally gave me. My bananas!

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 98.8kg BMI 38.6
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

15 stone 8 lbs in old money. I feel I'm in a bit of a plateau stage, bumping up and down the same few kgs. But I trust the process. I'm not throwing up my hands in despair.

As we are coming up to Christmas I decided to reflect on the NSVs I have enjoyed in this first year on mounjaro:

  • being able to put on shoes and socks without my knees hurting
  • being able to go downstairs without having to 'dot and carry one'
  • being able to take my rings off
  • being able to make clothes from mainstream pattern suppliers
  • sitting in a train seat and not feeling like I was encroaching
  • no longer needing super wide shoes
  • starting to go to the gym
  • feeling in control of my diabetes instead of it being in control of me

Just catching up with the thread after a few weeks away so sorry this is so late but these are amazing NSVs!

Missingducks · 20/12/2025 08:02

Every Friday afternoon we walk to the pub (dog needs a walk, pub is under a km away). Last night my husband said I am walking distinctly faster. And on Thursday my top half stayed dry in the rain because my coat did up. I am 1/3 of the way towards my long term goal.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 20/12/2025 08:39

Weigh in day for me. I have now lost 4st, 20% of my starting weight, and I’m only 2lbs from my first goal. Still very much obese, but not letting that fact impact me. I remember thinking in September that the target of 15st felt unrealistic, but I’m so glad I started the jabs! Maybe it’s time to start believing that I can reach the 13st mark. And what really motivates me is the success stories that you guys share here! What a bunch of inspiring losers you’re — seriously amazing weight-loss progress ❤️

W17 D1 4.25mg
SW 19st 3lbs
CW 15st 2lbs
GW1 15st
GW2 13st
Last week - 5lbs, 56lbs in total.

I wasn’t expecting the big drop this week. I have had 4 big Christmas meals over the last two weeks, so my average calories have been on the higher end. On average, I’m still eating 1100–1500 cals per day, but on those occasions I went over 2000 cals. But I’m back on track and I’m not worried about the Christmas holidays and daily calories. It’s the long term calorie deficit that makes the difference.

TragicMuse · 20/12/2025 08:56

Good morning losers!

Week 42, 10mg

SW 19st 4lbs (Jan 2025, pre-MJ)
SW on MJ 18st 11.5lbs (1 Mar 2025)
CW 13st 6.5lbs
Change this week -2.75lbs
Total loss 81.5lbs

I’m really pleased with that. I’m the lightest I’ve been in 13 years, based on my old MFP records. But probably way longer than that really as there’s a whole life to contend with. I’ve never been perceived as ‘slim’. Looking at photos - and there aren’t many because I hated photos of myself - objectively, I can see that realistically I wasn’t thin but I wasn’t particularly fat either. I know I’ve had times when I felt skinny, I wasn’t, but the comparison to fat-me made it feel like that. And I’m closer to that now. I’m not skinny but I feel so much smaller. This week I’ve really noticed it in myself.

My mum arrives today, I’ve lost a stone since I saw her in October. But it looks way more than that - the kitchen roll analogy - so she will notice. Hopefully she won’t go too bonkers about it!

Anyway! Onwards and downwards friends! We have it all to lose and nothing to gain!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 20/12/2025 10:31

So after a nice loss last week making me think I was back on track, I've had a (tiny) gain this week. Admittedly I've been closer to my calories than normal, but I've also exercised 5 times and not eaten the exercise calories so I would have expected at least a small loss 🤷 Ah well, onwards and downwards! I do think I'll need to go up to 5mg when this pen is finished though.

Fffreeeeezing · 20/12/2025 10:33

Week 40 and I was expecting big things after last weeks stay the same, but grrrrrrr I've stayed the same again!

Have eaten well within my calorie deficit of 1600 all week, rechecked my TDEE, drunk my usual 5 litres + a day, usual exercise.

Oh well, I said my mini target before Christmas would be 7st and I got to 7st 2lb a fortnight ago so job done.

Heres hoping for a Christmas miracle (and let's face it, that is what it would be) and I drop 5lb this coming week to make up for the last 2 weeks!

Off I go to grit my teeth and silently chant trust the process.......

Iwouldratherbesinging · 20/12/2025 11:00

@Lds1 460 bananas! That’s bonkers 🌟 fantastic 🎉

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 20/12/2025 18:07

@MummyInTheNecropolis That's amazing!!!! Huge cogratualtions!!! 🎉🎉🎉

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I love your updates too you're doing so well and are so close!!

My shotsy is just the free one and I've got no banana updates 😔

I have a size 40 bra and I know I could buy a 38 as I have it on the tightest hooks and is OK but could be tighter... But I'm aware if I buy bras now they'd probably change again i a few months so I might hang on. I'd like to go to bravismo but the nearest one to me is a couple of hours away!

Love reading everyone's updates. I was 13st13 yesterday when I jabbed but I did see lower numbers during the week!

SW 21st11
CW.13st13.

If I can get to 13st 11 in next 2 weeks it will be 8 stone exactly in a year!

Goal 1 not obese 13st3
Goal 2 healthy weight 11stone.

Strangeky looking possible although I do see the weight loss will be slowing down so will feel like forever to get there!!

We walked around London today and although I'm exhausted there was no back or hip pain and no endless looking for seats or telling family I'm fine sat in a coffee shop whole they look.... It went so well. And sat on the tube without worrying about spiiling.

I'm still a bit concerned my stomach will be left disproportionate.

Well done!

My interim target was 7st by Christmas too - or rather to start 2026 with a 7st loss and I made it this week.

I’ve now decided on my strategy for the next couple of weeks. I’m going to keep jabbing as usual and be careful not eat or drink so that I feel uncomfortable. I’ll keep my water intake at 2l as well. Beyond that, if it’s a special meal (there will be a fair few), I’m going to relax but not let that run into all day every day.

Anotherstressedmother · 21/12/2025 16:43

I've lost track where Im up to ,approx 10 stone loss plus few pounds.
I'm still getting the urge to binge ..I hate it
It's been a year of no binge ...yet the feeling still comes.
Hate hate hate it so much .
I'm just thinking, what if it never goes away ..
Today is day 3 after jab of 15 mg .. surely I shouldn't be feeling the urge to binge

TragicMuse · 21/12/2025 16:51

This morning I did 45 clicks to jab 7.5mg from my 10mg pen. Hopefully I’ll get less of the nausea!

The thing is, the jabs only work on the physiological causes of overeating/obesity - if your urge to binge is psychological then it's much harder unfortunately. The jabs may still help in that the side effects may stop you being able to binge in the same way, but unfortunately the psychology that drives you to want to binge is much harder to suppress. But 10stone is incredible and shows that overall you are winning the battle so try and keep those positive thoughts going.

Billybingbong · 21/12/2025 18:36

I'm a bit late to the party, but my Shotsy journey has just unlocked. Apparently I've lost 252 bananas 🤣🤣

Reading everyones success stories and NSV's along the way is so inspirational. I started in may time at 20.7stone and currently sitting at 14.12 stone.

I never imagined I'd be here, a weight I've not been for 10 years. I'm so bloody happy and can't wait to see what next year brings for us all!
