Happy New Year!! I've been awol since November as we've had major family celebrations since the last week of November and they continue until Saturday! I took my last dose of MJ mid-november and haven"t had any since.

The original plan was to restart after the first big weekend away but I didn't feel any different, no sudden food noise, so kept on without. 4mg was the highest dose I used so never had major suppression, just lack of interest in snacks, sugar and better portion control. This continued throughout December until the 27th where old me seems to have kicked back in. I have been drinking alcohol almost most days in the last 2 weeks though and have had my fair share of puddings too, with family staying with us there's also been croissant breakfasts and cheeseboards aplenty so I'm currently 9lbs heavier! However, this time is so unusual and so rare and I can feel my body craving normality, and fruit and veg and I've put away some christmas chocolate gifts to have in spring when I might fancy some again.

I have 2 pens (2.5mg) waiting in the fridge so I'll get back to it on Saturday. I'm still in the 14st bracket and I keep having a shock seeing my photo as I look so much better than previous Christmases when I was close to 17st! Not every Christmas will be this hectic with the big birthdays, Christenings and family staying so I don't feel too bad, I've enjoyed it and can't wait to get back to health and having new goals for 2026!

Sogfree · 01/01/2026 18:38

Happy new year to you all.

Thank you for all the support you've given me these last 6 months.

Here's to a healthier 2026. 🥂

RussianDoll76 · 02/01/2026 08:42

Happy new year !
struck down with a very very nasty cold since nye. Not ate a great deal but definitely less water and less movement . Frustratingly showing 4lbs up this morning. A problem for another day though as still too poorly to do much. Had a lovely text or 3 from my former slimming world consultant on NYE. I did tell her I had been using Mounjaro ( successfully) she said that’s wonderful and I should still come to class as they now fully support WLI’S . I don’t think, for me anyway it would work as I have to be strict with my calorie deficit or the weight doesn’t shift.
My question is are any of you using sw or ww
or similar for your weight loss journey ? I am
curious to know how they support you ?
I know from my experience with my SW group there was some real anger towards people who took WLI’S. 🤔

Mynewusersame · 03/01/2026 10:23

Quick new years check in from me: 2 days of back to eating normally and the 4 pounds I’d gone up over Christmas has gone. Back to 10.12 and 8 pounds to go to get to target. I’ve also joined the gym and been twice already!
Congrats to those who continued to lose over Christmas, and good luck to those like me that need to get back on it! I thought about increasing dose as I really can eat pretty normally but 2 days back tracking calories and no hunger so glad I didn’t. Happy New Year! Here’s to getting closer to our targets, and maintaining!

LadyClumber · 03/01/2026 11:31

@Mynewusersame - congratulations on pulling back the Christmas weight gain! By some miracle, I remained the same weight but I am finding it difficult to stop mindlessly grazing on the leftover crisps, nuts, panettone, etc. so it only is a matter of time before the number on the scales start moving upwards. Think I will take a leaf out of your book and calorie count to hopefully quash my urge to eat.

ShakespearesSisters · 03/01/2026 13:34

I don't post very often but love reading all yours. I weighed in at my heaviest on 29th May and took my 1st jab on 2nd June 2025. I've been hovering between 7.5 and have had a couple of 10mg doses through November and December. Had to miss a week in Dec as I was having an op and needed to stop 2 weeks before. That meant only missing one dose as took the other just 1 day late.
Started at 16st 4, today I was exactly 13 and a half. Ive lost 3lbs since the day before my op, think mainly related to the fact I am non weight bearing and can't get to the snacks. I haven't been particularly peckish at amy point though. I haven't told my husband and kids about the mj, I'm not sure if my DH will have guessed or not.
Anyhow, 7 months yesterdsy and im down 2st 11lb, 4 inches off my hips, and 7 off my waist. But still not really changed enough for new trouser size. Just been doing a bit of adjusting on waist bands.

Fingers crossed this continues. I'm almost halfway to my goal now. Once I can get back to exercising it should be a bit easier too.

Back to constipation here unfortunately. The GP prescribed fybogel a while ago, but I couldn’t stand the synthetic lemon taste and I can’t find the plain version on sale anywhere!
Any other advice to help keep things regular? Thanks!
jab day today and up 0.6kg which I put down to not pooing in several days!!

There's a tasteless Movicol available on Amazon.

Still struggling to get back on the eating plan after Christmas and New Year. Kind of wishing I had just stuck to calorie controlled eating over the festive period.
I had stockpiled injections prior to the price increase and have finally had to order a new injection. No hassle at all really, just had to show proof of the purchases.

Bloozie · 04/01/2026 17:14

It’s my birthday this week and I’m not consciously getting back on it until after that. My appetite is smaller and I’m not mad about that, but the quality of food going in is… questionable. Nutrition is apparently optional. But weight loss is for life, good eating is for life, so I’m embracing all that this means. Feeding my soul between Christmas and my birthday, and on holiday, and feeding my body the other 48 weeks of the year.

fancytoes · 04/01/2026 18:26

I’ve had three massive vacuum bags in reserve for almost 20 years of my ‘thin clothes’. I finally cracked into the whole lot today. I’m overjoyed and horrified in equal measure:

The many size 12 silk shirts I have are fitting! However this only demonstrates that two things are possible (suspect both 🙄):

-sizes have changed an awful lot in the intervening years - a size 14 then is much smaller than a 14 now.

-my body has obviously changed with age and two kids as I am 7-10lbs lighter than when I last fitted into them.

Rather hilariously, I can fit into my lovely Seven bootleg jeans from 2002 perfectly but, my god, the low rise is DREADFUL on my old lady body! 😂

God bless a high rise waist.

First jab: 23rd June.
SW: 12st7lbs
CW: 9st3lbs
GW: 9stone
Height: 5ft1in
Slightly smaller but massive boobs still, sadly.

ChiaraMontague · 04/01/2026 18:28

How lovely being able to fit into all those gorgeous silk shirts @fancytoes! I would not want to try on a low rise pair of jeans either, I’m happy to leave that particular trend in the early 2000s 😁

MissMogs · 04/01/2026 19:56

That’s so funny, I had the same experience with old jeans!! Loving the bootcut but definitely need a cami! Has anyone tried shapermint? It’s all over my social media and I like the idea of smoothing over the wobbly bits. Can’t seem to find anything comparable on the high street that isn’t full on Spanx which I don’t want for everyday wear!

momental · 05/01/2026 12:28

Started on 3 July but tend to follow this thread more. Scales broke a month ago so have been going by how I feel. But I’m so happy today as I got into size TENs! I know looking back I was a Size 16 in June - no doubt - try as I did to sneak into 12/14! But for me having lost weight before and feeling like it was a constant internal battle this has been wondrous.

Crinklecat · 05/01/2026 19:00

Exactly the same weight I was a month ago (nearly 5 lbs up from a couple of weeks ago) but I’m not actually disappointed. It’s a huge improvement on previous years and I’m confident I’ll be losing again soon

RussianDoll76 · 06/01/2026 08:10

Sneaky weigh in this morning ! Christmas weight gain has gone back to lowest weight. So pleased !! although I am feeling a bit crappy as I took the golden dose and forgot to measure so accidentally took 10mg instead of 7.5mg. Totally feeling it and far too much suppression so looking forward to it wearing off. 🙄
first January in some years that my weight has not been a huge problem . I love it 🤩.

Maryb54 · 06/01/2026 09:59

December has been really frustrating - the same five pounds on then off then on again. I feel I’m making no progress in the last month. And, yes, I know, water, protein, calorie deficit etc etc and it’ll shift but at the moment BLAH!

Hello everyone
Joined you at the start, but reading in the main in recent months rather than posting.
Have been inspired by your journeys so thought I'd share mine.

In May I weighed in at an embarrassing 106kg. I'm 5ft 9 ish and was a size 20 on a good day. Felt awful and made a start on weight loss on my own. Did manage an initial 5kg loss, but it was hard. Not in terms of eating actual meals well, but the constant noise in my head tempting me to eat, often in secret and usually late at night.

So after beating myself up about cheating, on the 9th June I had my first Mounjaro jab.

Even on 2.5mg it was life changing. It must honestly be what 'normal' people feel like. Food as fuel, not a nagging voice in my head to eat when not necessary. The quiet is not something I have ever experienced before.

I went up to 5mg in August, but didn't feel the need to up the dosage further. Today I have hit my goal of 72kg. BMI gone from obese to a healthy 23.5. Body fat in healthy range for the first time in years. Visceral fat has gone from excessive down to good.

I still have a fair bit of toning to do, I'm not as strong as I would like to be, but happy to continue to work on that.

Gone from a large size 20 to a size 12. Vinted has been my friend on this journey Grin

I am worried about keeping it off, and what happens if I stop and the noise returns. I'm starting to spread out doses, going up to a two week gap and that seems to be working well, next step will be to drop back to 2.5mg. Cloud pharmacy support maintenance plans so will chat with them.

Thanks to everyone, it's felt a supportive community even after I stopped posting!

Amazing @PuppyHerder that’s incredible loss in 7 months!

Librariesrule · 08/01/2026 10:47

Bit disappointed as have a gain of 3lb this week. Putting it down to being less mobile than usual as I fell down thexstairs on New Years Day and as a result have a badly sprained ankle and small fracture in same foot, so am now taking anti-inflamatories and codeine for the pain. Also DP has been in charge of catering, so not necessarily the best meal planning happening here. Still pleased with a total loss of 2st 7lb.

It’s strange how different bodies are. I started at the same weight (more or less) as you, and was also a large 20/bordering 22 - but I’m only 5ft2! I haven’t quite lost as much as you but not far off at 76kg but on my frame I’m still a size 18. Size 12 feels a LONG way off!! Congrats and keep us posted on how maintenance goes!

RussianDoll76 · 10/01/2026 08:24

Morning all,
I know some of you have had this same NSV and was wondering how you feel about it ?
My engagement ring now falls off my finger and I wear it everyday. I have used the spacers tube and bar versions and they’re so uncomfortable. My DP said we would get it altered and I panicked . I have been so ruthless with getting rid of clothes that i absolutely love when they became too big they go on vinted or to charity . This however was a different reaction my reflex thought was what about when I regain the weight ?!?! This has made me quite uneasy and I still feel nervous about the prospect of getting it altered he wants us to go into town this morning and take it in to the jewellers .

HappyWineDay · 10/01/2026 09:19

@RussianDoll76 I use some small stickers on the inside of my wedding ring. It’s like a thin non-absorbent sponge rubber if that makes sense. Not quite as wide as the ring and when you stick it to the inside of the ring it covers around 1/3 of the circumference, if that makes sense. Have you tried these, I wasn’t sure from your description? I got them from Amazon.

@fancytoes fab that you can get those clothes on but there must have been the odd item of “questionable” fashion that you found in there from 25 years ago! Do tell!

Sogfree · 10/01/2026 09:19

I changed companies to Bolt before Christmas, as they were cheaper.

I looked on my NHS record this morning - bolt actually informed my GP that I was taking monjaro! I'm not bothered, but it's the fact the previous 2 companies didn't.

HappyWineDay · 10/01/2026 09:21

I got on the scales this morning and I’m delighted to say that I’m back to my pre-Christmas weight.
The trouble is we go on holiday to Spain today - a week of wine and tapas. Oh well…
