Yes that's the thing that sometimes shops are all full of a certain style only, so you start thinking that surely I can wear it as well.
No, I should never, ever wear skinny jeans. I look like a parsnip.

Zempy · 26/11/2025 09:27

I finally suit skinny jeans. My thighs are the same circumference as my calves, and now it’s all wide leg jeans!

Anyway, I agree, at sixty I am just wearing what I want and fuck what anyone else thinks.

Except DD. She’s a professional fashionista and is very vocal about my “style” and I try to keep her happy when she’s around. Honestly she’s quite scary. She did like a navy maxi skirt I wore yesterday so 😍

No idea what I weigh as no working scales til Saturday morning. I imagine most of us are aiming to get a bit ahead of the game to accommodate any seasonal over indulgence. I feel quietly confident.

I have run out of winter clothes to Vint. I should delete and relist but I’m not sure I have the energy. I might have a look this weekend and donate stuff that just isn’t shifting.

2025istheyeari · 26/11/2025 09:36

@myladyjaneI've done 2 JL personal stylists with the same stylist and found them fab! You can choose the stylist that most resonates with you. No pressure at all to buy, but some great tips.
Like @HeidiLiteskinny jeans don’t suit me, I always thought they did as my legs have always been quite good, but paired with a massive chest and it’s not a good look🫣🤣.
@Jinsthe key is you recognise it wasn’t a great day, but today’s a new one. Like you say, this is life!!

Last Rome weight has buggered off today so I’m focussing on trying to shift 3 pounds to get to 6 stone. My mission this year has been weight loss, next year it’s about strengthening and toning so I’ve got kettle bells and hand weights on my Christmas list. Must chase up
ds on the peloton app thing. Not feeling the love to do any exercise, still feeling a bit crappy and have done something to my shoulder which woke me up 3 times last night, it’s agony!

Thelittlestranger · 26/11/2025 10:25

I love skinny jeans and have bought a load of new Levis recently on Vinted. What I love now is I can wear them with oversized jumpers and not feel like I'm doing it to hide anything...

Lowest part of my weight band this morning - I had a moment where I was thinking 'go lower!!!' - that itch is hard to not scratch.

Waiting for my tea at the station this morning looking at all the crisps and not feeling any urge for them at all, and I realised my food noise has changed. Most of my noise was for rubbish food, but when you don't eat as much rubbish food, your body stops craving it. Don't get me wrong, I ate a whole load of crisps when away for the weekend - but it's not my usual diet now. And my body paid for it with 5 times as many trips to the toilet in 24 hours as I would usually make in a 3 days!!

I am embracing stewed plums, apples and walnuts at the moment for my evening treat.

HeidiLite · 26/11/2025 12:50

I want to work on my strength as well, actually thinking about an additional gym membership. The one I can use for free is a good half an hour if you include driving, parking and walking, plus it's a company gym so limited opening hours. There's a chain gym in the next village open 6-23. Nothing fancy but they have the weights.
It's not extravagant to have 2 gym memberships, right? It's for a good cause.

hunkydory54 · 26/11/2025 13:23

Afternoon all, I've just been catching up on all the latest posts. I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet - I'm still waiting for inspiration to strike, so very envious of all of you who are done.

On the clothing front, I have been wearing Boden for years. Their clothes just fitted me. I am now getting back into their size 14 stuff which I've kept from about 15-20 years ago and I'm still working my way through the size 16 clothes I've got. I haven't bought any new clothes apart from bras as I've had plenty from when I was putting weight on and I'm waiting until I get to a weight I'm happy with.

I've changed suppliers to Pharmulous and I'm going back onto MJ. I haven't lost any weight since I started on Wegovy and I was finding the food noise was coming back along with lower suppression. The only problem is I've got to go 2 weeks without anything (timing is over Christmas) to wash out the Wegovy and then I'm starting MJ at 2.5mg. My order has been approved by Pharmulous so it's back onto the MJ which I'm delighted with and they're £100 cheaper per month than Boots.

meatyryvita · 26/11/2025 17:37

Congratulations on fitting into a new size @hunkydory54 and best of luck with the switch back to MJ. My own Wegovy experience was that it took 2 months for it to really be effective - that's quite a change from MJ.

I wonder if focussing on protein and wholegrains to fill you up is the way to go but also not to worry too much about those 2 weeks? You'll still have something in you system and so hopefully a touch of suppression will do the trick to ensure you don't put on more than you're comfortable with?

@HeidiLite 2 gym memberships sounds like an investment in self to me!

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 26/11/2025 19:25

Well done @hunkydory54 that is fabulous news. I think I’m on a similar trajectory so I’ll be keeping you company.

I need to go in the loft to make sure I don’t miss any size 14s on the way down.

I’d just enjoy your two weeks off given the timing 😊, sounds perfect to me.

Plenty of progress on Christmas shopping, no progress on finding a house.

I checked nutracheck earlier and I’ve only lost one kilo in the last month which is rubbish. Still not up to any movement.

DGonMJ · 26/11/2025 19:54

Evening all!
I’m in the final week before my period which is normally when appetite and sugar cravings increases. I’ve had quite a big appetite last couple of days following the MJ-powered fried food refusal on Monday.

But I’m learning to recognise the pattern, so that’s good.
I also caught a glimpse of myself on that news piece I did the other day and my cheekbones were looking quite sharp, and I seem to have lost weight from my temples (which was unnecessary), so if I were to put on a couple of kg it would be fine.

Good luck with the switch back @hunkydory54

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty
Excellent job on the shopping. Gotta take the wins where you can!

@HeidiLitenot extravagant if you’re actually using both memberships. I pay for a PT which includes gym access for his sessions and the monthly subscription to the peloton app both of which I use weekly.

@2025istheyeari well done for shifting the last of the Rome weight.

On the skinny jeans debate - last lot I tried on did not suit. But somehow I can wear leggings, tapered cigarette trousers. Stretch denim doesn’t work on me. I am pear shaped, now with a very flat (but still wide) bum.

tinyemmy · 26/11/2025 19:57

@HeidiLitedefinitely go for it. I'm changing up, not sure exactly what it will look like, but potentially two gyms. I'm going to do some homework workouts with the hope that the gym sessions keep me motivated to do the homework ones 🤞

HeidiLite · 26/11/2025 20:04

I've signed up for a trial class. My current gym is lovely but they are only open unti 2PM on weekends, and Iwould happily spend some of my Sunday evening working out. And it's 10 min away, nicely on my way to/from work as well.

Congratulations on new sizes! I do regret some 'slim' clothes I let go beause I thought I would never fit into them. The funny thing is that they would actually be too big now!

Office Xmas party on Friday, I still haven't decided what to wear. But it's lovely not to worry about which dress will make me the least sausage-like.

meatyryvita · 27/11/2025 06:52

Morning losers!

I too can wear skinny jeans after years of looking like a badly packed sausage in them! I prefer slim rather than skinny though but adore a wide leg.

Weigh-in day for me today and I had my fingers crossed after my sneaky weigh in earlier this week. 2.6lbs lost since last week and I am officially in the tens!

SW 15.10 (30th Jan)
CW 10.12.3
GW 9.10 or 10.4 - TBD

Have a fantastic day losers!

Morning @meatyryvita well done on a new bracket!

I quite like slim cut with a wider bottom - helps cancel out my pear shape.

Well, 🥳 I’ve hit the 4 stone loss mark this morning, very happy with that little woosh.

HeidiLite · 27/11/2025 07:34

Morning!
Excellent, @PenelopesProteinPackedParty ! 4 stone, could you have imagined this in January?

58.5 kilos here. Not my lowest, still want to be around 57. But not bad, quite stable.

Went to pre-op appointment for my deviated septum and one of the questions was that can I walk up 1- 2 flights of stairs. I was happy to confirm that yes indeed I can.

HeidiLite · 27/11/2025 07:39

and also must be amazing to be in 10s @meatyryvita
I still remember the feeling when I saw 59 on the scale, a number I have not had there since my teens. Still can't believe it and need to stop and think whenever a medical form asks for my weight.

myladyjane · 27/11/2025 07:42

Well done @PenelopesProteinPackedParty

skinny jeans are literally the worse item of clothing ever for me. I have a kind of triangle of doom between the top of my thighs and the c section part of my tummy and regardless of what I actually weigh, anything fitted looks hideous. Wide leg jeans and fitted top all the way here.

the Black Friday skirt I ordered arrived and it took both dds to do it up so that made me feel great ( it was the zip being really stiff, it was actually an ok fit but when one of them had to hold it down and one hoist it up….:)

myladyjane · 27/11/2025 07:43

Ohhh super work @meatyryvita.

meatyryvita · 27/11/2025 07:48

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty that’s amazing! Congratulations!!!

Apparently, it's as hard to stop losing weight as to start 🤣 I need to add some more good food to my daily routine.
I didn't put up a weekly post last week - completely forgot 😅
I have started to jab 5mg every 10 days rather than every week.
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing xxx

MJalltheway · 27/11/2025 07:56

Congratulations @meatyryvita and @PenelopesProteinPackedParty on hitting those mini targets!

I've always worn straight cut jeans and they still suit but now I can wear wide leg ones too without looking like a barrel.
its my birthday today and I didn't quite make it to goal but I am a full kilo lighter than I was a week ago and only 1.2 off goal now so I'll take that!! 😁 plus my metabolic age which was 80 last year is now 42!

Thelittlestranger · 27/11/2025 08:03

Happy birthday @MJalltheway !

And congrats to all the low weights, goals met and fab stats!!

BreezyPeer · 27/11/2025 08:05

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty what a fabulous loss! Well done
@HeidiLite what an question for you! With biceps like that you could probably walk up two flights of stairs on your hands 🤣
@myladyjane what a great image! Getting that zip done up was a good thing.
@meatyryvita well done on the 10s! That's a great milestone

I am enjoying wearing slim or bootcut jeans again rather than always going for wide leg trousers which I thought I lived but now realise I only wore because they covered up a host of issues!

HeidiLite · 27/11/2025 08:07

happy birthday @MJalltheway !

2025istheyeari · 27/11/2025 08:16

Congratulations @meatyryvitaand @PenelopesProteinPackedParty🎉great news!
Happy birthday @MJallthewayhope you’ve got something lovely planned. Congratulations on the kg loss too, amazing!

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 27/11/2025 08:17

@MJalltheway have a lovely birthday.

Thanks everyone, @HeidiLite I don’t think I could imagine it last month let alone January, it does seem to have been a slog. Anyway, focusing on the positives, I have got 6.5lbs to the goal I set, let’s see how I feel when I get there. Looking forward to a big clothes shop in the January sales!

I’m jabbing a day early for the next two weeks as I want to move my day forward, thinking of having 7.5mg as 8.33mg has felt a bit much.

I’ve been trying to eat more this week, typically 100g of Greek yogurt with berries for breakfast, small cup of soup and a small piece of bread for lunch and a small portion of whatever dinner is later on. Not sure if that has got anything to do with things moving along/downwards.

I’m a bit disappointed that I have got no interest in things like stollen or mince pies 😂, I love spiced fruits and seasonal food, but have absolutely no interest at all.
