@BlueLimes ... do not venture into AIBU. Full of awfulness.

I'm home, weirdly the higher I got the less snow there was so my dread was unfounded. I replaced my car this year and bought exactly the same car I had before because I love it rather than because it is geared up for winter in the hills.

Just having a cup of miso soup to warm up. I've deployed my tiny oil filled radiator in my office this morning, it is 19.6 degrees in here but I want it warmer without heating the whole house all day.

Today is the start of a new sort of strictness for me. Meetings/travel aside I am going to work between 8am and 4:30pm each day. That's it!

8.33 mg is kicking my bum this morning, I feel quite sick.

2025istheyeari · 05/01/2026 11:26

@BlueLimesagree, don’t entertain it, it’s garbage and full of sometimes quite unpleasant people.
Don’t worry about past few days, they’re done, start again and it’ll disappear as soon as it came. I’ve had the same, my husband bought me a huge bag of jelly bellies for Christmas and I’ve eaten the lot over the past 5 days, felt quite sick last night. But I am back on track, and I know that if I do go off the rails, as long as I get back to it, it’ll disappear. I’m not proud of my behaviour the last few days and it is worrying but I'm
not letting it drag on. I hadn’t jabbed since 17/12 annd really noticed the difference in how I feel. 7.5mg this am and feeling a bit nauseous.
I’ve also now watched the first 2 Traitors, interesting twist with the secret traitor!! You’ll appreciate this too, I’ve been sorting through my beauty stash this am!!

I’m currently debating whether to order some leather kick flare Jigsaw trousers in the sale 🤔

Glad conditions not too bad @PenelopesProteinPackedParty. weather looks interesting next week or so!

RockyisMYRhino · 05/01/2026 11:38

Thanks everyone. Tantrum had and I’m back to normal now. Thankfully DH seems to be moving around a lot easier today so im not required as waiting staff, just as a face to moan at lol

Jins · 05/01/2026 12:10

Morning all

Not the best start to the new year for some of us it seems and tantrums are fully supported.

My bum is also being kicked by an 8.33mg dose. So stupid to jab before calculating the dose but I’ll survive. Only slight nausea so far and I’ve passed the peak dose now so I’ll drop down for my next jab which coincidentally will occur on my MJ anniversary.

I’ve started another wardrobe clear out. I’ve got several pairs of charity shop jeans which don’t fit as well as I’d like which can be Vinted. I’m going to let the jeans I hoped I’d be able to wear go as I think I’d need to lose another half stone and that is too much for my face. I’ve got a couple of puffer jackets that are unworn and too big that I ought to move on now I’ve got my outdoor Oodie. There won’t be much left when I’ve finished but I don’t need as much now I’m not working and there’s no need for multiple changes of office wear.

HeidiLite · 05/01/2026 13:14

Did you see the Wegovy pill has been priced at 149 USD per month? Considering list price for the injection is about 10 times as much in the US, that's a huge price difference.

Zempy · 05/01/2026 13:47

I just received this email from Oushk. Hopefully it means I am safe for a while longer. I think I will wait until they want to do another weight verification call and ask for maintenance at that point.

In the meantime I am extending the life of my refrigerated pens and taking a 7.5 mg dose from 15mg pen every seven days. I appreciate that might make some people uncomfortable but I’m really careful about keeping everything sterile. It’s about affording to stay healthy at this stage.

As @HeidiLite posted, things are moving forward in terms of products and pricing so I am optimistic long term.

Aimingdown · 05/01/2026 13:47

I agree on that AIBU post, absolutely poisonous and definitely not worth getting involved with. I really feel that this group is my happy place on mumsnet, I dip into other threads for fun occasionally but my people are on here!

Zempy · 05/01/2026 13:50

Sorry, realised email outs me! It basically says I can “continue on my current programme “

meatyryvita · 05/01/2026 13:57

Happy New Year losers! I hope everyone is well and either stoic about small increases or jubilant about STS over the festive period. I put on 1.6lbs which I think I will drop quickly enough but saying that, I'm definitely hearing a bit more food noise of late. I'm topping up my 2.4mg of Wegovy with a .5mg from an older 1mg pen to see if that helps. If not, I might see if I can find a decently-priced MJ supplier.

About 11lbs or so from goal so hopefully by the end of Feb, I'll be there.

Sorry to hear about burst ear drum @RockyisMYRhino - I had that a few years ago and it was very painful. Do give yourself a break to recover properly.

Glad the snow wasn't too bad @PenelopesProteinPackedParty.

My 1 year WLI anniversary is on the 30th of Jan. I got an email from SheMed over the festive period saying I'd lost 31% of my body weight in 2025 (blimey!) and another email saying that they would price Wegovy at £139 post the end of the 1 year study.

Take care everyone!

I have a confirmation email for Weds delivery! Woop woop!

Hopefully Feb order will be sent too…

Morning losers and happy back to work day, who is starting again.

yes, have certainly put on some weight over holidays. But then again, my fat % has gone from low to very low, and muscle mass from high to very high. So at least some of it must be muscle. And some is certainly fat 😀, but am back to more normal eating today, and even more exercise.

Have to be quite strict for a couple of weeks, as having my deviated septum fixed on 22nd of January, and again can't exercise at least 2 weeks after that, they said. Quite looking forward to that, really can't breathe through one side, which is annoying.

Edited

Oh best of luck with the septoplasty! I've had 2 in the past and really need another op to see if it can be improved further but it's hard to take that time out when you have kids. happy to answer questions if you have any?

HeidiLite · 05/01/2026 17:31

@Zempy I use 2.5 or less from 5 pens, they are kept in the fridge and I am not concerned about a few extra weeks.

ooh thanks - so how much do I really, really need to take off from gym?

Polkadotdash · 05/01/2026 18:10

I finally braved the scales this morning. Only gained 1lb despite eating loads of Quality Street, cheese and drinking booze over Christmas. I’m really surprised. I thought it would be worse.

I’ve started thinking about going back to MJ too. Wegovy doesn’t seem to make me lose anything. It doesn’t make me gain either, but I still have at least a stone to go to get yo normal BMI. Interesting that @hunkydory and @meatyryvita you are thinking of doing the same. Are there providers out there that will let you switch back? And can you get the cheap introductory offers when you switch?

BlueLimes · 05/01/2026 20:31

Glad the roads were ok @PenelopesProteinPackedParty
1lb is not bad at all @Polkadotdash

@2025istheyeari that’s a very good way moving on from bad food days. I’ve done a beauty inventory too - it’s quite substantial.. buy the trousers !.

Have a great week all.

Polkadotdash · 05/01/2026 20:49

Help. I’ve just realised I have a pelvic floor therapy appointment on Wednesday which I had totally forgotten about. I haven’t done my exercises. I know, I’m a terrible patient, but I hate doing them. How do I lie about this???

HeidiLite · 05/01/2026 21:30

I mean obviously you did the exercises but there's not much improvement for some reason. Maybe the exercises are wrong?

Polkadotdash · 05/01/2026 21:38

@HeidiLite 😂😂😂

BlueLimes · 05/01/2026 21:46

I’d just fess up. They’ve heard it all before.

Polkadotdash · 05/01/2026 21:55

@BlueLimes you’re probably right. I did consider cancelling the appointment but I do need the therapist’s help to refer me back to the hospital for the rib problems I’m having so I need to turn up. Apparently there is some link between your rib cage and your pelvic floor function.

MJalltheway · 05/01/2026 22:15

Not much help @Polkadotdash but it did remind me to do my exercises so thank you (from my pelvic floor physio) for that!!
I think being any kind of physio is probably an exercise in superhuman patience with all the people who you know would be helped enormously if they just got on with their flipping exercises. My MIL is a perfect example. She has physio to do for a bad hip after a fall nearly a year ago. She waited 8 months for an appointment and moaned how long it was taking. She has the exercises now and hasn't done them a single time! Her follow up is in 2 weeks and she's moaning that it was delayed because of Christmas...but she hasn't done the exercises anyway!! The mind boggles.

@HeidiLite i felt absolutely terrible for a full week after my first one. Dosed myself up on codeine, felt like I'd been punched square in the face, struggled to breathe and oozed pus (nice!). Second week was much better, back to work after 2 weeks off. I had 2 very small children when I had mine done so didn't go to the gym then anyway.

HeidiLite · 05/01/2026 22:31

Well that sounds just lovely. I think I'll call tomorrow and cancel the surgery, surely breathing through one nostril is fine really..Confused

MJalltheway · 05/01/2026 23:02

I'm afraid mine didn't work either, I can still only breathe through one nostril. 🤨

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 06/01/2026 07:11

I've had this surgery too, in my 20s so a long time ago, I remember being shocked at the post surgery pain - awful, and also the surgeon saying it was far worse than he expected 'up there', very 'buckled'.

It did help though as I used to have a lot of sinus infections. Can't remember anything else tbh.

This really made me laugh.

I am another dreadful patient who doesn’t do her exercises!
