Ok - did it. 50 clicks, so 2mg today. Will give this a go for a month and see if I can put it into muscle growth. Considering the amount of empty calories I’ve had over the last month (in chocolate and mince pies), if I can eat the equivalent in more protein then hopefully I’ll be able to increase the weights on my deadlifts, shoulder presses and lat pulldowns.

hunkydory54 · 04/01/2026 12:48

@MJalltheway I'm using Pharmulous at the moment. I moved to them last November from Boots when my BMI was hovering under 27. They've been fine so far. I changed back to MJ from Wegovy so I've had to start at 2.5mg and work my way up again through the strengths.

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 04/01/2026 13:53

Funny how we are not keen on pork, obviously someone is, I thought of this thread when I went shopping, a whole fridge filled with pork!

I am going to cook my death row meal tonight - smoked haddock, baby spinach with nutmeg, potato rosti, poached egg. Yum.

How are you finding doing that @hunkydory54 ? If I follow through with my giving it up to see if I feel a bit more like my old self I'll have to do that of course. There was an article in the times last week, Jeremy Clarkson has been taking MJ and has reported that it has affected his mood.

myladyjane · 04/01/2026 14:26

I also dislike pork but I dislike all meat so perhaps not the most useful contribution to the thread.

@MJalltheway I switched to pharmulous a few months ago. I find them fine, I like the fact they don’t duck around with codes much (they do have them occasionally but generally they are just consistently towards the lower price point) and they are clear and responsive - way better than iq dr in my experience. I have asked them re maintenance and am looking to book in a call maybe February to go over it. They let you spread your orders to every 6 weeks as well and possibly longer with discussion.

hunkydory54 · 04/01/2026 16:00

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty I'm feeling like I'm making progress again and feel a lot more positive on MJ than Wegovy. I haven't been able to weigh myself for a while as I'm still away but I feel like I'm losing again after my 3 months hovering around the same weight. It may be psychological but the 2.5mg seems to work better for me than 2.4mg (the dose equivalent to 10mg MJ). I'm moving up to 5mg on my next pen and I'll see how I get on with that. I've got another stone to go until I reach my "see how I look" goal of 11 to 11 1/2 stone

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 04/01/2026 17:09

That's good news isn't it @hunkydory54 . I hope I can just cope with stopping, but I'll have to see.

RockyisMYRhino · 04/01/2026 18:37

I literally can’t make up this shit that is my life!!! DH went to the gym for a run today and after less than five minutes on the treadmill felt a pop in his calf. The daft bugger has now gone and ruptured his calf muscle FFS. Obviously he didn’t want to be outdone by his wife’s ruptured eardrum

HeidiLite · 04/01/2026 18:47

ouch! No personal experience but that's a few weeks of recovery time at least, no? Surely there are lighter injuries if he wanted to compete with eardrum.

RockyisMYRhino · 04/01/2026 19:02

Definitely at least a couple of weeks out of action and now wanting to be waited on hand and foot! Luckily he is back working from tomorrow so he won’t be cluttering up the living room at least 😂

HeidiLite · 04/01/2026 19:05

I have a colleague who somehow managed to take 3 months of sick leave for a..fractured toe. Desk job. No walking needed. Can WFH. I'm all for caring and understanding work environment but that's abusing the system a bit.

RockyisMYRhino · 04/01/2026 19:07

He works from home as well so I can just leave him in the office and chuck a few drinks and some sandwiches at him throughout the day when I remember 😂😂

Nooooo😳

RockyisMYRhino · 04/01/2026 19:27

I faithfully promise I am a very caring and loving wife but right now I just want a break from having to look after anyone including myself after having someone needing me almost every day since July! Can I have permission to have a toddler tantrum over here please?

HeidiLite · 04/01/2026 19:49

@RockyisMYRhino absolutely! This year for my birthday I actually asked for a 'nobody needs me' day.

When he calls just tell him you can’t hear because of the eardrum 😎

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 05/01/2026 06:27

Morning everyone 😞there's such a lot of snow here this morning, typically I need to drive over the dales for the next three days in my car that is not designed for it, I have got winter tyres at least.

@Aimingdown has a very good suggestion there @RockyisMYRhino . I am sure you will manage your DH's expectations!! Rotten luck though.

My weight is absolutely bizarre, I lost weight for two weeks over Christmas, I did eat Christmas food but only at mealtimes or really carefully, i.e if I had some chocolate I didn't have a mince pie 😅. Now there is no sign of that sort of food in my life my weight has stayed the same.

2025istheyeari · 05/01/2026 06:44

@RockyisMYRhinoI think you def need a tantrum, you’ve had a tough time. Love @Aimingdownidea😂.

@hunkydory54that does sound good 🤞🏻.

Accountability post, been weighed and have put on 6 pounds from my very lowest weight. This has been really since beginning of December and is a combo of holiday, eating out and basically not tracking or caring what’s gone in my mouth. I’m back on it today, water, protein and veg are my focus and I’m feeling good. Long walk with the dog and I’m home alone for the first time in a month so looking forward to that. I love my family but I need some me time!

in other news my bolt pen arrived yesterday, really can’t recommend them highly enough, they’ve been brilliant.

happy first day back at work for anyone who’s back today and drive safely @PenelopesProteinPackedParty, 🤞🏻 for some positive house news soon.

2025istheyeari · 05/01/2026 07:11

Oh and I’ve also finally jumped on the collagen bandwagon starting today! Better late then never 😂

That’s a pisstake. I am no martyr, but when I broke my ankle about four years ago, I just ordered a bed desk and worked from bed. It was quite pleasant actually.

@RockyisMYRhino throw that tantrum! Can you journal it/write it all down somewhere, full of expletives, then destroy it? I find that helps. I agree with failing to hear DH pitiful cries for tea and biscuits.

I am struggling to weigh myself properly at the moment because I just can’t bear to get naked first thing and stand on the scale. I need about a litre of tea warming my insides first…

myladyjane · 05/01/2026 08:11

@RockyisMYRhino have that tantrum mate. Sometimes it’s needed.

@Zempy me too! I really need to get up/weigh in/shower/start work. I have an hour to do that and I’m still in bed because it’s cold. Why did I not win the lottery eh?

Thelittlestranger · 05/01/2026 08:14

I'm sat in front of my laptop on Mumsnet 🤣

Weighed in today and I'm dead on 9 stone. So, in my band and where I should be on a Monday. Hooray! Have my gym kit on to do some weights - was going to run, but I have a niggle in my hip and I think my body could do with another day off running. So stretching and upper body it is today. In my kit already and will do pre-lunch.

@2025istheyeari - I'm getting back on the collagen today.

HeidiLite · 05/01/2026 08:16

Morning losers and happy back to work day, who is starting again.

yes, have certainly put on some weight over holidays. But then again, my fat % has gone from low to very low, and muscle mass from high to very high. So at least some of it must be muscle. And some is certainly fat 😀, but am back to more normal eating today, and even more exercise.

Have to be quite strict for a couple of weeks, as having my deviated septum fixed on 22nd of January, and again can't exercise at least 2 weeks after that, they said. Quite looking forward to that, really can't breathe through one side, which is annoying.

myladyjane · 05/01/2026 08:44

I got up! Yay me! Weigh in was fine - lost 1.5lb of my 2.5lb gain in a few days so it obviously was very much water wasn’t it.

Now ‘resting’ again as they don’t own me until 9am. I read something on insta about January being the years menstruation phase - it should be one of rest and reset not a new phase - that should be spring. So I’m embracing that this morning.

DGonMJ · 05/01/2026 09:08

Morning all - have one more day off before back to work tomorrow. Feel like I’m delaying the inevitable and everyone else will have ripped off the plaster before me. But also quite glad to still be in PJs having a coffee.

Good luck to all those heading into work or firing up the laptop to ‘circle back’ now it’s January.

@RockyisMYRhino what rotten luck with DH’s injury on top of yours.

Excellent work on the muscle gain @HeidiLite that’s a goal of mine but I don’t seem to be able to shift the percentages much. I’ve only managed to go from low skeletal muscle percentage to just slipping over the border to average. Muscle mass went from high to average as I lost weight over the year and fluctuates with weight gain/loss which feels like I’m not really getting a proper reading. To be fair to the scales, I’ve not been lifting heavy more than once a week, so there’s more I could be doing if I was to properly focus on it.

So, I’m sure this is a massive coincidence following my lower dose jab, but I’ve developed a stiff jaw on my left side, was super hungry last night so ate more than I expected for dinner after a big lunch (Turkish). And I’ve woken up having put over 1kg on in 24 hours.
Due my period any day now so waiting to see if that’s the cause of the hunger and water retention. The stiff jaw feels like an inflammation issue, like when I was getting stiff finger joints before MJ. Feels a bit soon to attribute to a reduction in MJ. Surely it would be end of the week when the dose would be at its lowest in my system?

Anyway, the live experiment with dosing continues.

BlueLimes · 05/01/2026 10:51

I’ve completely gone off the rails past few days . V disappointed with my lack of control.

v annoying thread in AIBU - full of doubting Thomas’ types who are also a bit gleeful that we’ll all regain the weight. (Hmm Must not be self fulfilling prophecy).

You definitely won’t be able to hear @RockyisMYRhino
