Enjoy your duvet day @myladyjane despite feeling like you need it (always bittersweet, I love a duvet day but hate needing one). Your eating was probably due to Xmas and hormones, nothing to worry about, you will be back on track in a blink.

I had a wobbly moment earlier with my old pen. There was a gap with air of about 0.5 cm before the 0.5cm of liquid left - so bung, liquid, gap.

Not sure I've seen this before tbh. I binned it and started a new one. With higher strength pens and extracting using needles it is going to happen I guess.

Now you are all going to tell me you have been doing it for months....

If only I could crack the constipation I would be great - I've been eating three dates a day - 225 calories, usual ton of veg etc. No joy whatsoever.

I renewed my ifit subscription earlier so might do a yoga class this afternoon, other than that I am going to pamper myself with a long shower and my Xmas pressie products 😍.

DGonMJ · 28/12/2025 10:41

Morning all.
Week 52 of MJ!
Weighed in at 58.45kg and did a 2.5mg jab.
Considering I’ve eaten so much sugar this week, I’m surprised to still be in my safe zone.

Well done on the loss, especially this week @PenelopesProteinPackedParty good luck with the higher dose.

@Thelittlestranger well done also for staying within zone, enjoy your run.

@Jinsalways good to have a signature dish! I love a PIB! Bacon needs to be crisp, can’t enjoy a rubbery blanket.

Have a food shop to do once shops open, some batch soup cooking planned and going to plan some holidays. I’m also using chatGPT to help me set some goals for the year. On top of menu planning to keep us healthy (and me in maintenance), and the usual career goals (say yes to less), I’d like to spend more time with my DC so it’s going to help give me some ideas for regular activities to do. In particular I want to have a thing I can do with DS2 on a regular basis as I’d like to give him more attention - he’s quietly become a very self-sufficient 13yo while we’ve been managing autistic DS1’s teen years. Always does his homework, revises for tests all without me asking, does his laundry without fuss. He’s recently got into acting, so maybe a quarterly theatre trip? I also want to get him cooking, as that’s an area he’s less independent in. He’ll eat the fruit bowl and cupboard snacks until someone cooks for him.
I think once a week, leaving him instructions to kick off dinner might be good.

HeidiLite · 28/12/2025 11:03

@DGonMJ same experience with DS (12) here - has really impressed me this year. More independent, does his homework without me nagging and reminding. For cooking, mine likes Buddy Oliver cookbook (although many recipes are also a bit too simple), but also the Roasting Tin books are generally quite easy to follow.
Theatre sounds like a lovely idea!
I'm thinking drawing classes for mine, especially DS seems to be quite talented.

DGonMJ · 28/12/2025 11:41

Drawing classes also sounds like a lovely idea @HeidiLite I’d love to do that with DS2. I’m not sure he’d enjoy it as much as I would though, even though he’s actually very good.

DH has just done his first MJ injection. This is a big moment in the DG household. He’s a huge needle-phobe and was pale and trembling afterwards, but has calmed down now and gone off to make everyone breakfast.

HeidiLite · 28/12/2025 12:53

I cannot draw at all - when I try to draw a cow then people would say it's a nice dog, assuming it's drawn by a 3yo.
So imagine my surprise when one random day when he was 7 years old, DD asked DS to draw her a dinosaur and he sat down and did this like it was nothing.

Polkadotdash · 28/12/2025 13:03

Wow that’s talented!

I cannot draw either. When I first met my husband he was like ‘nonsense. Everyone can draw’ so I showed him. He had to revise his opinion 😆. I have really poor fine motor skills!

Polkadotdash · 28/12/2025 13:05

I’m still in bed today. I have gone down a rabbit hole on the internet about why my face looks so fat in all photos. I’m not sure I fully understand focal length and lens sizing properly though.

Gintime74 · 28/12/2025 13:11

Morning all,
I started here in Jan and lost 2 stone (out of the 5 st desired weight loss) i did have quite a few side effects on monjauro and gave up on it in July, due to a combination side effects, lack of commitment and cost then steadily put back on 1stone. I have now lost that 1 stone again through cutting out alcohol and tracking calories but it has been slow and i cant seem to lose anymore without making further changes. I am keen to have a jan kickstart and lose the further 3 stone this year.
My options are-
Wegevoy
Human Being diet
Weightwatchers.
Has anyone used wegevoy and how have they found it?

Thelittlestranger · 28/12/2025 13:18

My son loves drawing, is 13 and I want to do more with him too. Love the idea of drawing classes. Might look into that.

Completed an 8 mile run, so that should set me up for a few days. I also went and bought a running vest. Everyone seems to have them nowadays, but I'm so fed up of sticking my phone in my bra and my gloves in my waistband. So I'm joining them all.

I've decided next year is both manage a pull up, and increase my running distance as fitness goals.

I can't help @Gintime74 as I haven't taken wegovy, although a few people here have. Well done on cutting the alcohol.

Polkadotdash · 28/12/2025 17:26

@Gintime74 I switched to Wegovy in October when MJ prices doubled. I’m now on 1.7mg of Wegovy. I go a pound up and then a pound down. So effectively I’m maintaining. It’s frustrating and annoying if could afford MJ I would go back to it as I had better results and I’ve still got another stone to lose.

Hi @Gintime74 i started to use it in September and after a slow start, have found it effective. It does not quiet the noise or appetite quite as well as MJ but I hoping that by using it and engaging my willpower, I set myself up well for maintaining. I did have to go to 1.7 mg (and now on 2.4mg) for it to kick in. I had been on MJ since Jan and had been well used to its effectiveness.

Feel free to ask me any other questions.

Losers, a traumatic 24 hours here! DH and I went to a small British city for a night away, just the two of us. I ate normally but lightly in the day but had a strong coffee at one point and then a glass of Prosecco late afternoon. By about 6pm I felt quite painfully bloated but just thought I had trapped wind. We went out for a drink and dinner and didn’t get to dinner. In the pub, my mid and lower stomach were cramping so badly, I could barely stand up straight and couldn’t even sip my wine.

Went to a supermarket to get some indigestion meds or whatever and spotted something for IBS and given i was in such agony, doubled over with pain, I thought it worth a shot. Couldn’t eat but DH got a meal deal. Back at the hotel and I took one of the tablets and within about 10 mins, all pain gone. I’m wondering if I have developed it some way somehow? I’ve always had a wee bit of trapped wind giving me pain periodically but just put it down to being dehydrated and then guzzling water.

Our sexy night away turned into DH eating a meal deal in bed whilst watching Batman Begins!

Polkadotdash · 28/12/2025 23:50

@meatyryvita oh lord, that was not what you had planned at all. I have to say, Wegovy has given me some killer bowel spasms. Didn’t have it on MJ. I’m never sure if it’s worse because of hysterectomy though. Maybe it’s not. Maybe that’s what you’ve had too?

Zempy · 29/12/2025 07:31

Post Christmas weigh in here today. 8:7. That’s a two pound gain from 20th and only three pounds above lowest weight. Not too bad. I’m going to pick up a Tesco order later, and it’s quite strict fare to help me get back onto the bandwagon.

It was alarming how the more I “let myself go” and ate, the more I wanted to just eat more and more. Not big meals of course, but just mindless snacking, especially the sweet stuff.

Oushk are querying my usage (how am I making pens last so long) and I am worried they are going to cut me off. I injected 7.5 from a 15mg pen last night.

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 29/12/2025 07:38

@meatyryvita oh no that sounds awful. You’ll have to do it again in the new year ☺️.

I can’t remember who it was that just stopped taking MJ, no maintenance or tapering down now. I think I’m planning to do that as ordering with a gap because I’ve got a supply and am doing my own thing dose wise depending on how I feel just seems difficult 😞 , I’ve had 8.33mg from a new 10mg pen and have a 12.5mg pen in the fridge. I reckon that’s three months max, maybe ten weeks.

@Zempy that was one of the reasons for me thinking of stopping dead. It just seems like it will be difficult to order.

My thinking is that ordering is difficult, I was never prone to weight gain before I had chemo etc. I always lose weight when I’m on leave because I’m more active and I’ve just lost weight at Christmas because I’m not at work. One piece of work I’ve got on only has six weeks left which means I’ll have more time (well energy actually) to be active.

Let us know how you get on or if anyone else has successfully ordered off schedule.

Jins · 29/12/2025 08:13

Oushk haven’t queried my usage yet but I ordered a 5mg pen last time and they want to know why I’ve ordered a 10mg for the 8th January and will probably change it to a 7.5mg. Not the end of the world. I’ve agreed dose spacing in a video consultation back in September so each pen lasts 44 days (jabs 10 days apart and then a two week break) so I’ve reminded them of that in my reply.

Effects of yesterday’s jab have hit which should help shed the 2lb gain. Otherwise all is going well and DH is hoovering up most of the sweet treats as expected. We’ve got Christmas dinner pie for tonight which is mostly veg leftovers mixed in gravy and topped with potato shortcrust pastry. That’s the last of Xmas food apart from the traditional turkey chilli which is sitting in the freezer.

Gintime74 · 29/12/2025 11:17

@meatyryvita that sounds awful, what a shame. @Polkadotdash Thankyou both for your replies. I think I will give wegevoy a go.

DGonMJ · 29/12/2025 12:19

Another lazy morning here. Only made one of my planned soups yesterday, so have another one to do today (Moroccan Carrot) with the excess carrots we’ve ended up with. I think I’ll do a third one tomorrow (Italian tomato), so we have a variety.

DH doing ok so far 24 hours into his first jab. I think he ate less snacks yesterday and he did notice he was a lot thirstier. Have bought him kiwis and dates. Today I’m doing a soy chicken bake. Tomorrow a sweet potato and chickpea stew (with chicken added at the end for extra protein).

@meatyryvita Sorry your night away didn’t go according to plan, hope you get to rebook it soon. Glad you’re feeling better now. That sounded very painful.

@Zempy I’m waiting for Oushk to approve my order for 5mg after not ordering since the August price fiasco. I had a pen delivered in Sep, then two delivered in Oct. I’m hoping an early Jan delivery doesn’t look too suss. I guess I could say I had a two week gap between each pen.

I’m going to try and keep ordering 5mg from now on so I can halve the cost, especially now DH is on it. But hoping I can order every 6-7 weeks so I don’t stockpile too much.

Jins · 29/12/2025 13:39

Oushk just agreed to prescribe a 10mg pen but reminded me of the dangers of taking smaller doses from it and going over the 30days. I’ve replied saying it was agreed that I could jab on days 0. 10, 20 and 30 which is the 4 full doses at the maximum possible spacing plus a 10-14 day break between pens. I’m ordering a pen to arrive on day 10 after my last dose of my last pendemic pen. It’s obviously something they are looking closely at but my order timing is impeccable. 😉

When I titrate down to 2.5mg I’m planning on going on their flexi plan as £15 a month is worth it to order sporadically.

I feel for you @meatyryvita. I’ve had many an overnight trip ruined by badly timed IBS. Hope you get it sorted soon

MJalltheway · 29/12/2025 14:02

Sorry your time away was spoiled @meatyryvita

been out for a bracing walk with a friend this morning and off to the gym with DH later on today.
I'm maintaining at 70.3 so confident I can finally get to goal when we get out of the Christmas hiatus.
Did a MAMMOTH clothes clear out yesterday, 3 bags to charity shop. Kept back one small bag of slightly bigger things just in case! I will get rid of those next year if I haven't needed them!

Good news that DDs boyfriend is coming to stay with us today for a few days and he eats LOADS so between him and DS, we should have no leftovers or indeed food left shortly 😂

Thelittlestranger · 29/12/2025 16:16

I jettison the leftover turkey into soup, pie and curry this morning and into the freezer before we headed off for a night away. The hotel deal we thought we got is clearly because the hotel isn't as nice as the one we stayed at last year. The 'spa' is over crowded and the room isn't great. However, the main thing is that OH and I enjoy a night away from all responsibilities.

Sorry to hear yours didn't go as planned @meatyryvita Very annoying.

Managed to foist more food on friends last night, including the final pork pies and most of the cheese. Next few days will remain relaxed, until structure hits full force next Monday. Only for two weeks though, and then I'm off skiing for a few days!!

BlueLimes · 29/12/2025 18:02

I’m very annoyed with Voy who emailed to say I’m out of the prescribing guidelines (I’m not) and now I’m just going round in circles with them. Not impressed. I’ve just said I prescribe
medications and am a well aware of guidelines which you should be too. I suspect it’s sone jumped up pharmacist who’s spotted my bmi is 22.5 and for some reason has decided to be difficult.

@meatyryvita book another night asap !!

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 30/12/2025 07:03

Sounds painful @BlueLimes .

Another 0.5kg off here this morning. Still dithering on whether to try to order another pen. 4.5kg to go, 12 weeks supply in the fridge.

DGonMJ · 30/12/2025 09:23

@BlueLimes and @PenelopesProteinPackedParty Oushk have a new year’s sale with £22 off and 1p delivery. I might place my order for Feb today.

DGonMJ · 30/12/2025 09:40

Oh. It’s not a discount on top of my maintenance one. So just free delivery.
