Hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas! We've been in PJs the whole day, just hainging with family.
But flying back tomorrow and honestly can't wait to get back to healthy eating and gym.

DGonMJ · 25/12/2025 15:39

Merry Christmas my MN friends! It has indeed been a journey. Feel grateful to be seeing out the year so much healthier and happier - with such wonderful company and having been so well supported by this lovely group.

We’ve done stockings & presents with special breakfast pastries. Then tidied and went for a short family walk around the woods to clear the cobwebs. First family walk DH has been on since he first started to get the knee pain in Cornwall. So that alone has been a lovely Christmas gift.

Late lunch Turkey nearly ready. We ate a huge dinner last night, but MJ working its magic and not letting me eat too much. Just enough to make a good effort.

RockyisMYRhino · 25/12/2025 18:02

Well our hosting and cooking appeared to go down extremely well with PIL. They’ve just gone home fully fed and watered and they even helped with the washing up! Managed a decent amount of dinner and pud but not so much I feel awful like last year. My two DS both seem to have had an absolutely fantastic day and although there was a fairly early start it could have been much much worse lol. I’ve finally managed to nab a bit of a sofa and a large glass of wine to celebrate with so cheers to all you lovely ladies. Thanks for the support and encouragement when I’ve needed it.

HeidiLite · 25/12/2025 18:27

isn't it just lovely this year to not hate all the Xmas photos because they 'make me look' fat?

meatyryvita · 25/12/2025 22:42

Merry Christmas losers! I hope everyone who celebrates is having/has had a wonderful day.

We had a quiet morning at home with a 7:30am start and two dog walks before heading to a family Christmas dinner early afternoon. Have been careful/mindful about my consumption today but still enjoyed three delicious profiteroles.

What wonderful company/champions you have all been over 2025 and how different my life now is. I celebrated last Christmas squeezing into a size 16 and stuffing myself. Today I went to dinner in a small size 12 and ate very mindfully, now am going to bed feeling well fed but not stuffed at all.

Good morning my Boxing Day belles

I hope everyone had a smashing time. I had a lovely mellow day - best present was a led lit magnifying mirror - the peri menopausal woman’s best friend/worse enemy.

fam leave after lunch today then quiet few days. Being ill and manic work means I genuinely need a few days of down time and my mother especially needs quite a lot of entertainment god love her. Lovely to have them though.

i struggled with food yesterday. I had been a bit off on Xmas eve as pulled my back a bit (pork based injury) so was hungry yesterday so did eat more that I’m used to. Whilst I didn’t over eat particularly and didn’t pick at all, I feel really uncomfortable this morning. Way too full. Hopefully it will dissipate but there is a lot of food left and all I want is fruit salad…..

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 26/12/2025 14:25

Hello @myladyjane and everyone, I hope everyone's Christmas day was exactly what you wanted it to be.

We had a lovely day yesterday, I ate and drank whatever I wanted to - all fine. Felt great, we will probably go home today as DS isn't feeling fabulous but that is OK too. Like you @myladyjane I would appreciate a couple of quiet days, I'm back at work on Monday.

We'll have something simple/plain like salmon, noodles, stir fried vegetables for dinner if we go home, this is very appealing!

Thelittlestranger · 26/12/2025 20:09

Happy boxing day all - busier few days than I expected. I had kid myself that we didn't have much to do as we weren't having the full on lunch, but we still hosted yesterday and today and I cooked a turkey, gammon, sausages etc for the buffet.

I have eaten what I wanted - probably not as much as other years for sure, but I haven't felt deprived and have eaten lots more than usual. I have run every day though, so feel the balance has been good. Loved going for my Xmas day run!

Quiet evening here tonight, and tomorrow is PJ day. Very much looking forward to that.

HeidiLite · 27/12/2025 08:41

hello losers, so how has Xmas been this year?

We're back home, DH went to pick the dogs up from kennel. Then some shopping and I'm looking forward to some gym time before the January crowds arrive. Not being snobbish here, as we know, January is an excellent time to start with a new health regime - but it will be busy.

Haven't weighed myself and certainly ate and drank a bit more, but not massively so. And we've lost a young elephant worth of weight collectively, no reason I can't deal with a little extra.

Jins · 27/12/2025 08:57

Morning all. I thought I’d posted yesterday but don’t see it so I’ve either posted to a random thread or I forgot to press the button.

Anyway I hope you all had a great time. Our day went surprisingly well. My brother was in very good spirits and looked better than I’d expected. We ignored the subject of health completely and had one of those chilled family days that rarely happen. Felt very strange when DS1 left at 6 for another engagement- normally he’s fallen head first into a bucket of Sauvignon early doors and not fit to go anywhere.

Meal timing went fairly well but the warming drawer I picked up on FB marketplace was a godsend. I felt like I ate loads but actually didn’t have that much over the day. I didn’t eat anything at all after the meal and that’s usually where the damage is done.

DH did brilliantly and amongst a collection of random bits and bobs that shows exactly how well he knows me was a tailor’s clapper. The mystery boxes for the lads were better than I could have hoped. DS1 has kept a few bits and DS2 just a pair of earplugs. DH and I on the other hand fell on it like a plague of locusts and I have loads of sewing and crafting bits, hairpins, swimming drag shorts, insoles and some new year decorations while DH took charge of all the diy bits, dog harnesses, a battery that may fit his drill and 20m of nylon rope. All agreed that as an activity it was a winner and I’m taking the leftovers to a couple of charity shops that run year round tombolas so hopefully they’ll help raise some cash. The competition for the worst item was a draw between a clip in fringe of dubious quality and a single vinyl floor tile.

I’ve got a moment of peace so I’m off for a long bath. Hope you all have a great weekend

DGonMJ · 27/12/2025 11:54

Morning all. Have had a very relaxed morning. Gym with PT later.

@Jins sounds like a successful Christmas!

@HeidiLite agree that there’s so much less guilt around indulgence, knowing that we haven’t actually put that much on (if any) and tweaking the dose will help course correct.

@Thelittlestranger I went for a Boxing Day run, just 20mins but I did it to a peloton ‘outdoor run’ class and it motivated me to run faster than I normally would so I felt really good after just 20mins. I love how it oxygenates my brain.

Weighed in at 58.75kg this morning - so the same as last weekend, will weigh again tomorrow before jabbing. But I think 2.5mg again.

In the new year when we’re all back to healthier eating, and there’s less rich/sugary food around, I’ll see if I can go down to 2mg. Or attempt 2.5mg every 10/11days. I’m hoping with a little more calorie storage I might be able to build more muscle.

Got to get back on the menu planning. It’s been too many days of ‘cheese & picky bits for lunch/dinner’. Lovely, but I need to feed my body with something other than high fat, low protein!

HeidiLite · 27/12/2025 12:09

another NSW - I've always had huge boobs that needed industrial scaffolding. And heavy duty anti tank missile style sports bras are not only expensive, they are also tight and unfomfortable. I was always choosing between being able to breathe or strapping everything down so I don't give myself a black eye. I'm sure many of you other losers can relate.
Where I am going with this, some Crz Yoga built in bra tops just arrived. I was planning to wear them on top of a sports bra, for extra support. But just tried and...they're fine just on their own! I wouldn't go running like that, but totally fine for lower impact activities. And so comfortable. I have several cute matching sets now, about to go and show some of them off at the gym.
No affiliation but can recommend the brand: https://shop.crzyoga.com/

MJalltheway · 27/12/2025 13:56

Hello losers, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I've hit the shops this morning, trying to get more smaller size clothes (with @PenelopesProteinPackedParty voice in my head telling me not to buy too much yet!). I picked up a few 14s and 12s to try on because sizing is still quite variable. Found a lovely pair of work trousers and assumed they were a 14 because they were a bit on the loose side - nope, size 12s! And tried a size 12 dress on but it was too big! There's no way on earth that I am a size 10 with 32GG boobs so definitely vanity sizing there.
anyway, managed a few bits for work and some smaller knickers so overall successful.
@HeidiLite you suggested CRZ yoga leggings to me a few months back and I now have several pairs, they are extraordinarily comfortable. I'm still in the anti-tank heavy duty sports bras though 😂

myladyjane · 27/12/2025 14:45

Just back from shops too - needed some bits for dd and ended up buying a wool coat. It’s a 14 petite which feels about right as I do think petite is generally a neater fit and this was over a thick jumper too. I look all grown up!

BlueLimes · 27/12/2025 15:47

I’ve had 3 days of not tracking but ready to return to plan now. Hope everyone has had a great break.

Polkadotdash · 27/12/2025 16:37

Hello again! We survived Christmas despite the puking. Children bounced back quickly but DH has not been so great. And he was back to work on Boxing Day too, poor fella. I don’t feel like I’ve eaten too much, but have been existing on Quality Street and Prosecco. Tomorrow I will be back to normal, promise. You’re all full of energy with your shopping trips. I’m avoiding the shops as long as possible.
I saw my elderly parents. My step dad is 82 and on ozempic. I think he must be one of the oldest patients on it. He claims that it has caused him to lose all short term memory and fall asleep all the time. Erm, you’re 82. That’s just old age. It’s bringing his diabetes under control but has not dinted his appetite at all. Not a pound lost yet. Not sure he is in the ‘spirit’ of WLI. Plus they don’t know I’m on Wegovy. They wouldn’t approve.

HeidiLite · 27/12/2025 17:01

why wouldn't your parents approve @Polkadotdash if your dad is on it himself?

Polkadotdash · 27/12/2025 20:09

@HeidiLite theu are of the attitude that he ‘deserves’ it because he has diabetes. It’s type 2 diabetes caused by a lifetime of overeating and zero exercise, mind. Whereas they know that my cousin is on MJ and they think it’s because she’s vain and got more money than sense. So I know they would think that I was doing it for vanity too.

HeidiLite · 27/12/2025 20:40

ah I see, so you need to eat more to give yourself diabetes first, then you can have the drugs..

Polkadotdash · 27/12/2025 20:59

Exactly that! 😂

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 28/12/2025 06:10

Morning, weigh in day/jab day today and I have lost 0.6kg this week, I might try 8.33mg again. It didn't suit me last time I tried it but I'd really like to get rid of my last 5kg to goal/interim goal/whatever sort of goal it turns out to be.

Funny @Polkadotdash ! I still have not told anyone. Suits me!

Jins · 28/12/2025 08:40

Morning all. I’m not doing an official weigh in until 2nd January as I should have recorded boxing day which wouldn’t have been sensible. I’m up about 2lbs which is fine and I’m jabbing today which will help. We had our last reheated Xmas dinner yesterday so today I’ll be busy making meals from remaining leftovers for the freezer and the rest will become soup.

I’m floating around on a cloud of pride. It turns out that my pigs in blankets have been a talking point for years and I never knew! No great secret to them except I don’t mess around with cocktail sausages I go straight in with chipolatas. It’s a small thing compared to my mum’s lemon meringue pie and my nan’s liver and onions but I’m taking my place on the podium of legendary cooks of my family.

Everyone is being very polite about the last florentine so I’m having that for breakfast.

Have a great day all!

Thelittlestranger · 28/12/2025 09:40

Absolutely love a pig in blanket.

I tackled some of the leftovers yesterday with a soup, and shall make a pie this afternoon.

I braved the scales today, even though I promised myself I wouldn't and I'm in my 'band.' 9 stone and half a pound. Pleased with that - that's where I usually am on a Monday.

Off to tackle another run today so I can continue to indulge until New Year, and the entertaining is done, and the house is free of Xmas food.

Very much enjoying this quieter time. OH and I off to a hotel spa for the night tomorrow night. The other day we have the cinema planned, jigsaws and reading. Perfect.

Grecianrainbow · 28/12/2025 10:05

Catching up after a Christmas haze. I’m plateauing apparently having fallen off the tracking wagon so I need to get back on that. Managed to jab and cope with all the food although did eat the cheese and biscuits and chocolate so that’s not going to help either. DH wants to go shopping tomorrow but I really can’t be doing with sales crowds and he doesn’t seem to understand why 🤔.

myladyjane · 28/12/2025 10:25

@Jins oh how lovely to have a hall
of fame item. As a (more or less) life long veggie I have never had a pig in blanket but i am assured a good one is a thing of beauty

@Polkadotdash parents are a bit batshit often I find. I haven’t told my mum re the mj as I don’t have the energy to. She’d probably be supportive but much as I love her I don’t need her opinions on it and I’d get them.

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty I know what you mean re just wanting to get to whatever goal we have. I’ve moved mine down a bit after the trauma of losing a third of an inch so based upon my last weigh in instead of having 4lb left I now have 7lb. Probably more after the last few days. I did a full 10 yesterday after a couple of weeks of slightly lower and will look to do a bit more next week as it’s bonus dose. I then have a 12.5 pen where I could use a bit more - I sort of don’t want to but I will see.

my hrt period is kicking my butt. Dd2 is with her bf today and dd 1 has yet another party, dh wants a gaming day so I am going to have a proper duvet day I think. Sleep, reading, maybe a film or two. Back to tracking as well I think - I had a bit of a greedy moment yesterday where I did mindless scoffing of something I neither wanted or needed and it shook me up a bit - not done that for almost a year and yet 3 days of not really being accountable and I was back there…..
