Happy weekend all!

Can I just explain that micro-needling my arms results from reading about the theory behind it and looking to the area that needs a bit of help. I have not seen it mentioned anywhere. If it works I will be a pioneer and regret musing about it here. If it doesn’t work the cost is minimal and at least I tried. First session complete and I’ll update if there are positive results.

@Polkadotdash and @CurlsandCurves the polar fleece nightie is one of my best buys this year. Toasty warm and cosy and decent enough to open the door to someone in. For £15 it’s worth a punt. I sized up and have no regrets.

This is the traditional point at which panic sets in and I start throwing money away at making Xmas perfect. This year it’s not happening. I’ve sorted presents for all those I buy for and Xmas colleague discount starts today so I’ve put off buying the Xmas food until I can get 20% off. So at some point this weekend I’ll be dragging myself to Tesco which will be hideous.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend away from work. Despite being retired I’m really busy dealing with objections to planning proposals in our village. We now have applications in that will provide 130% of our current housing which is a bit excessive. I actually tested ChatGPT and that’s the way forward although I do fear for the future of my profession.

BreezyPeer · 13/12/2025 08:14

@BlueLimes @Zempy @Jins @2025istheyeari @CurlsandCurves @MJalltheway and anyone I've missed off the judgy bench!
It is a fabulous weekend so far! Xxx

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 13/12/2025 08:16

Morning everyone, lots going on on here, sorry you’re poorly @myladyjane and 💃🕺 @BreezyPeer marvellous progress 😍.

Also cba with the site. Still away here and still feeling peaky. Trying to hide it as the kids are already a bit worried. I had a nasty fall yesterday, I literally fell off a very raised kerb onto a cobbled street, must have been 9-10 inches. Splat. My poor knees are black, my right arm is sore and there was a noticeable click in my right hip area when I landed. I bought some sort of arnica heat rub and ibruprofen gel on the way back yesterday and I’m sure I must have a foggy halo from the smell!

I’m reading about your work and 😩. For the first time in a decade I need to work between Christmas and new year.

I decided to delay my jab until I get back rather than do it early, just because of how I was feeling, eating has been sensible but more carbs than normal so I’ll just have to get back on it next week.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Zempy · 13/12/2025 08:21

Poor you @PenelopesProteinPackedParty. Most importantly, did people SEE YOU fall? Cos that’s the worst part isn’t it? I’m in my sixties now so next time I fall over (happens regularly as I am dyspraxic) I’ll have “had a fall”.

@BreezyPeer fabulous 😍

@Jins I have also got the fear and have to stop adding food to my Christmas order. It really won’t get eaten. I over order every bloody year!

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 13/12/2025 08:27

@Zempy , yes 😩, packed Christmas market in an old town. I had to sit on a salt bin for ten minutes to compose myself. I was really sweaty and thought I was going to vomit. I’ll tell you what though, I had a thick wool coat on, cords and thermal leggings and am sure they took the brunt of it.

My DD has dyspraxia and I’m always fearful of her tripping me up, she literally walks into my path/space every ten seconds.

Jins · 13/12/2025 08:42

Poor you @PenelopesProteinPackedParty. Lucky you were wearing padding. Like @Zempy i would be officially classed as ‘having a fall’ which I’m not overjoyed about.

I had to have a long conversation with British Gas last week about my meter readings being odd and one of the questions they asked was whether anyone in the household keeps medication in the fridge. So I said yes and told them what it was and what it was for and a letter has just arrived to say that I’m on the priority services register now. I have to say that I don’t feel especially vulnerable and I’m not disabled but the arrival of a generator to keep my fridge freezer going will be very welcome during an extended power outage. Another unexpected benefit from Mounjaro 🤣

Upper arms a bit red this morning so something has happened.

DGonMJ · 13/12/2025 09:38

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty oh no, sounds painful! The click in the hip might mean you’ve knocked them out of alignment. Do you have an osteo you can go to check it out? We have a ‘family’ one who sorts all of us out whenever we’ve tripped up, pulled a muscle or ache anywhere. Which is monthly for DS1 and his hypermobility spectrum disorder.

As someone who meticulously menu plans, I’ve not done any Xmas food shopping apart from panettone and chocolate for stockings!
Perhaps it’s time to plan that this weekend.

myladyjane · 13/12/2025 09:59

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty you poor thing. That sounds very ouchy. Shall I cheer you up by telling you of the time I walked briskly across that bit of Regents Street where the big TopShop at Oxford Circus was, laughing at all the clueless tourists, all 20 something girl about towning. Tripped on the curb in my red or dead silk thong sandals and sprawled arse over tit in the gutter. I was picked up by a very helpful lady in her 70s.

@BreezyPeer FILTH. So very proud.

@Zempy@HeidiLite and others, my work is also off the charts insane which makes being off sick even more annoying.

@DGonMJ good luck to dh on his journey

@2025istheyeari very brave re house of teens. One of mine is out constantly for the next 2 weeks as similar gatherings.

@Jins keep me posted on the arms. I have attacked my upper chest a bit as it’s a bit prone to sun spots and also my turkey neck and marionette lines. Small improvement in both I think.

still ill. Today I have lost my voice and woke up so dizzy I thought I’d fall off the bed. I do have to go to my mums - we have an annual tradition of going to my dads grave to put Christmas baubles on him (highly amusing as he was a grumpy strict school teacher) then doing my mums decs and it means the world to her and the kids. I am a bit worried as I don’t want to pass this to her but otherwise I’ll sit on the sofa and she will mother me.

now question - do I jab. Appetite is patchy - I can’t face much and what I want is mostly carbs which is typical for me when ill. I had a load of side effects this week as well. But I don’t want to get out of sync and I am a bit better.

myladyjane · 13/12/2025 10:04

@DGonMJ I did my food shopping list yesterday. Was a very interesting experience as I literally didn’t give a shit and in fact forgot to include a Christmas Day main for myself (non meat eater). I have cut back a lot especially on booze and puddings.

MJalltheway · 13/12/2025 10:55

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty don't wait to go and get x-rayed if any bits still hurt/get worse. My MIL fell (indoors) and landed on her hip and didn't get seen until about a month later (after much badgering) and she'd got a hairline fracture in the top of her femur. She's having physio now but is still in pain 10 months on from the fall...

good point about the food shop, I have a Waitrose slot booked and haven't put anything in it yet! One year I panic-booked slots with Waitrose, Tesco and Cook and ended up with 3 turkeys because I forgot about them all...

I'm tempted this year to actually venture to the shops on Christmas Eve and stock the freezer with joints of meat when they reduce them.

@BreezyPeer good on yer! 😍

@myladyjane in your situation I'd be staying in bed, sorry. I know it's horrible timing and it'd be awful to miss the tradition, but you need to look after yourself and you really don't want to be passing (presumably) flu on to anyone else.

Polkadotdash · 13/12/2025 12:10

argh. Weight gain today. I’ve been avoiding weighing myself but I just did it and I’ve gained a pound. So depressing. I’ve been the same weight now since August. Hardly the miracle ‘14 stone in a day’ type losses you always see people saying on various media outlets. Fed up now 😔

HeidiLite · 13/12/2025 12:37

@BreezyPeer I am definitely also very judgy!

@2025istheyeari OMG 22 teenagers!
ouch @PenelopesProteinPackedParty hope no lasting damage.

Happy to report first party survived without much damage, mostly because I don't eat red meat and chicken was as tough as a boot. Desserts also meh.
This evening's food will be much better, mostly beause I'm cooking. But done my morning BodyAttack.

supafish · 13/12/2025 13:48

Hello everyone, well it all seems to be going well for us all doesn’t it ? Nearly a year in an we are all a lot lighter , Yayy !
I reached my target of 50 pounds off , 3 weeks ago and was very happy . Unfortunately have gained each week since 😵‍💫, not really sure why , haven’t done any thing differently. But none of the magic mj in my system 🤷‍♀️. Trying to not panic buy more but feel it’s inevitable if I’m gonna need it again 🤦‍♀️

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 13/12/2025 18:06

Thank you everyone, @myladyjane , 🙈, I felt about 70. I’m feeling less like I’ve done any permanent damage this evening, combination of this rub with arnica, chilli and menthol and anti inflammatory gel.

Did you jab @myladyjane ? I don’t think I would in your shoes. x

Well done @supafish , funny I looked at my stats after I’d read your post and I’ve lost more lbs than I thought I had.

It has felt like a slog hasn’t it at times, but I hope to be done in a few weeks.

I’m showered, dressed, even have make up on and washed hair and am heading out for dinner shortly, stark contrast to yesterday when I went to bed at 4:45pm so a good day 🙏.

Polkadotdash · 14/12/2025 09:38

Well done @supafish 50lbs is a crazy amount to have lost. Incredible. It may take a while for your body to adjust to stopping. Did you titrate down or just stop?

Polkadotdash · 14/12/2025 10:15

And I’ve decided my scales are having a rude weekend. Weighed again just now to see if yesterday was an anomaly. I’ve put on another pound overnight. FML. I barely ate yesterday! How is that possible????

DGonMJ · 14/12/2025 11:31

Morning all, I was supposed to attend a work event this morning but DH was in A&E till late last night (suspected PE, but all fine) so I’ve stayed at home while he’s had a lie in.

@supafish congrats on the 50lb! Sorry to hear you’ve gained since hitting target, despite not increasing calories. This is something I fully expect would happen to me if I stopped MJ. I’ve said it a few times here, but I’m definitely eating a similar amount of food as I was when I weighed 70+kg. Somehow MJ is enabling calorie burning rather than calorie storage.

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty hope dinner was nice and you’re not feeling too bruised today.

@Polkadotdash very rude! Checking you’ve weighed post 💩?

@HeidiLite hope your cooking was appreciated last night and dinner went well!

WI at 58kg this morning, bottom end of maintenance weight. Have jabbed my 10th 2.5mg dose out of my 8th pen, didn’t lose its efficacy at all.

I suspect the slightly higher dose last week, and subsequent weight loss, affected my strength in the gym yesterday. Was meant to go heavy/max but couldn’t deadlift more than 55kg without my legs shaking/buckling in. PT suspects weak glutes.

I’ve ordered a pre-stuffed turkey crown from Cook. DBs presents bought. DS2 presents ordered. Family plans arranged. So I think we’re sorted for Xmas.

@myladyjane oh yes, no booze being bought this year. In fact we have so much wine and champagne from gifts received over the year that we’ve not drunk, our wine cupboard is full.

@MJalltheway the post Xmas meat sale is my fave! We bought half-price turkey to roast at weekends and use as sandwich fillings / salad protein for mid-week packed lunches. Just need to ensure there’s enough freezer space!

HeidiLite · 14/12/2025 12:57

happy Sunday!

@DGonMJ hope DH is fine now, not fun to spend a night at A&E
@Polkadotdash very rude! But must be just water retention.

Dinner went well, I over-catered as I always do, but I don't want anybody leaving my house hungry.
Went to gym this morning (legs and glutes) and we have an apero invite for later, othewise laundry, nagging kids about their homework, the usual. One more week before a little break.

MJalltheway · 14/12/2025 13:42

The daily chocolate from advent calendars is not having a good effect on me, I'm craving it more and more! Cracked open a tin of chocolate truffles yesterday and had a few of those. Back on to fruit for snacks today.

i also think I have weak glutes @DGonMJ, been to the gym this morning and tried out the booty builder machine! 🤦‍♀️ Hope DH is ok.

You were completely right about the sizes @HeidiLite ! Back on to Vinted again...

myladyjane · 14/12/2025 13:44

@DGonMJ hope dh is ok

@HeidiLite you are in a social whirl girl! I get tired just reading

@Polkadotdash arseholes

i am getting pretty fed up now. Didn’t go yesterday, sent them without me. Had about 4 hours of broken sleep due to coughing. I am exhausted and my ribs hurt. Thankfully my temperature seems to be stabilising but it’s still a bit bumpy. Everyone else is out this afternoon so I am on the sofa watching musicals, door is locked in case I nod off and dh god love him has done the chores so I can just chill in peace and quiet

I have also just jabbed. A day late and I did a slightly lower dose. Appetite is still poor but very carb focused and the mj always helps me with that - my nutrition has been so poor this week I could do with the mj to help me iyswim.

anyway enough waffle from me

Jins · 14/12/2025 14:03

Well my scales were very well mannered this morning and showed 8 st 9.8 which feels so much better than 8st 10.2. Worryingly so.

Gave DH the bollocking of his adult life this morning so he’s trying to get back in my good books by moving the washing machine back (it’s half price electricity today so therefore laundry day). He’s overstretched as always and he snapped at DS2 last night which was totally unwarranted. Not on my watch sunshine! It would have been a calm chat until he said he was off to buy a motorbike….

I’m just waiting for this load to finish then I’m stripping beds and that’s me done until meal time.

PS - he’s not buying a motorbike now

DGonMJ · 14/12/2025 18:15

DH has been given the all clear, we’re not sure what caused the pain that felt exactly like a PE, but it needed to be ruled out especially as he’s just had surgery.

He’s rested, done the food shop with me, and has been hobbling around the kitchen making himself useful by prepping a stew. I’m letting him get on with it as I’d rather he gently potter than sit too still.

In First Order news, he couldn’t get the Pharmulous website to take his details, just wouldn’t load. So he’s sent them an email and will call them tomorrow. I’m assuming it should be fine with a 30+BMI, but wonder if not having a gall bladder is an issue.

Appetite suppression still feeling quite strong today, following my jab this morning.

Polkadotdash · 14/12/2025 18:24

@Jins A bloody MOTORBIKE?? Nope!

@DGonMJ it was definitely post 💩. I’ve been really suffering this week with a combo of iron tablets and undesired effects from Wegovy which is why I’m not eating much!

meatyryvita · 14/12/2025 19:32

@MJalltheway yoir three turkeys story made me laugh I accidentally did two online shopping orders for the same day. Ocado and Sainsburys arrived within half an hour of each other - 16 pints of milk, 2 chickens, multiple loaves of bread etc!

@DGonMJ sorry to hear about DH and glad he’s got the all clear.

@Jins glad your scales were well behaved.

@HeidiLite glad the dinner went well.

i too join the ranks of those who are up to their eyes in work and utterly exhausted. We’ve just completed a round of investment at my place and I cannot believe how tired I now am - it was intense for months. I have two other high pressure situations next week which isn’t quite the quiet end to my working year I was hoping for.

i weighed in on Thursday and lost half a pound - all good. I had a very busy end to my week and genuinely barely got time to eat (never ever happened to me before) but wasn’t too hungry. Stress would normally make me hungry but apparently not these days.

Have a peaceful (as possible) week losers x

Completely fucked up my injection tonight. First time I have had a problem in nearly a year of jabbing!

I was extracting final dose with insulin syringe and bent the needle. I thought it would be OK but liquid spurted everywhere. I tried to get the remainder in but have a big raised lump like a flea bite on my tummy.

I may have to inject again in a few days, will see how I get on. No idea how much product is in my system. 😄
