We have all been on for heading up to 17mths now- we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

most of us are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This next year will almost be harder.

To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

only 2 words to say 😂😂

@Blondeshavemorefun that sounds good!

I had two chicken goujons and a few chocolates at lunch time. Dinner was some roast gammon, broccoli and carrots and a small amount of mash. No pudding and no desire for any. Left a good amount on my plate. Not perfect but moving back towards better.

jab day tomorrow, so that’s good.

Pumplepolly · 11/01/2026 21:22

Yes - been lurking since August 2024!

I was 7 stone heavier in Spring 2024. My knees were very painful and a great physio got me moving again. I lost a stone without trying and on August 3rd I started Mounjaro.

I lost about a stone a month for the first 3 months then it slowed a bit. I have to admit that my eating is disordered - always has been. It's probably why I've stayed quiet because I didn't want to be judged.

I've loved being here though and am so grateful to you all.

By May 2025 I was at the lowest healthy weight for my BMI then it all went rather wrong. I went on holiday and was ill. My body didn't have the resources to deal with it. When I got back the GP sent me to hospital. They never particularly established what was wrong but I had an infection of some sort and a raging fever. They weighed me a couple of times but I was still within the healthy weight range so nothing came if that. Once the antibiotics had worked I was sent home.

I experimented with reducing and spacing out the jab and was successful in maintaining. I think what worked best was taking my usual dose of 7.5 and having a week and a half of good suppression followed by less for another week and a half.

Another complication since December has been ferratin in my blood is too high. Again, no conclusions have been reached and they are currently happy just to monitor it. Chat gpt thinks it's a side effect of rapid weight loss.

Also due to rapid weight loss was gall stones! Luckily DH has private cover through work and I was able to have my gall bladder out before Christmas. I stopped MJ mid November and I gorged from mid December. I'm not convinced it was because I was extra hungry - just that I had given myself permission to have time off. I properly stuffed myself and enjoyed it not at all. By January 5th I was one and a half stone heavier than my lowest. The three weeks of stuffing had probably added just over a stone of that.

I dieted last week. Still without MJ. I used My Fitness Pal to eat 1200 cal a day. I weighed in at 12lb lighter yesterday. It was soooooooo incredibly hard without MJ and I am very, very miserable.

I don't want to live the rest of my life like this so I'm not sure where to go when / if the surgeon gives me permission to restart MJ. But I will gain - it's just too hard I think.

Many thanks for these threads. I hope my story adds to the insights on here.

I haven't calorie counted so will start with Nutracheck tomorrow xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/01/2026 21:47

@FurForksSake are you going to be brave and lower dose

@Pumplepolly we don’t judge and if you have been reading you would know I’ve been struggling and eating chocolate biscuits etc

well done on 7s. Same as me. What weight and height did you start at ?

sorry to hear of struggles may 35 while on holiday. Never nice when abroad

a few of us had had issues with Ferritin. I have. Tho mine is too low and on high iron tablets. I have blood test this week so will see if I have gained 1 more point 🙄

how do you reduce a high one ?

You have been in the wars losing gallbladder as well

ouch at 1.5s in 3w or so. But easily done and so much harder

you should be able to go back on mj.

You can without a gallbladder 2-4w after depending how you are feeling

do post how you are doing

  • Mounjaro and similar GLP-1 drugs can increase the risk of gallbladder problems — but this mainly applies to people who still have a gallbladder
  • Since yours is already removed, that specific risk is lower
  • However, some people without a gallbladder can be more sensitive to:
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhoea
  • Fat digestion issues
  • Mounjaro can worsen these at first

@Blondeshavemorefun I’m going to give myself a week of being super good with the power of 12.5 and then next Monday I’ll brave 10. Or I might count clicks and do 11 tomorrow…

I’ve worked out it’s 54 clicks. I’ve never counted before, do you literally listen to the clicks or can you read something off the pen?

Just forget about today and cheese

Just forget about cheese. Cheese is the route of all evil. But apparently it might help with dementia! I’m going to be a brilliant Dementer telling everyone I ate too little cheese and my brain went dry.

Pumplepolly · 11/01/2026 22:02

I started MJ when I was 14 s 7 lb ( I think...) I am 5' 7"

The judgment I feared was not overeating but unhealthy restriction. Everybody overeats but I think only disordered eaters restrict calories in an unhealthy way and I do that.🫤

My ferratin is above the healthy range but I don't think dangerously so. You can bring it down by giving blood but I guess they couldn't monitor it accurately if I did that perhaps?

FurForksSake · 11/01/2026 22:07

@Pumplepolly they will monitor you as heamochromatosis can cause joint damage I believe. They’ll get you go into heamatokogy and take blood out until it’s back in range.

No judgement here at all, disordered eating takes lots of forms and nearly all of them come down to control and your brain over your body.

Same height as me tho I was 17.4

so you got to 7s 7. Wow. Seems very slim for our height

they take blood out if too high ? Wow vampire city 🥰

@Pumplepolly if you are 7st7 your bmi is very underweight. Are you now off mj until you are back at a healthy bmi? No judgement but concern.

Pumplepolly · 12/01/2026 07:03

Oh dear I've been so confusing! Sorry.😁

I only lost 6 stone on MJ. One came off naturally before that. So I lost 6 stone from 14.7 and am still within the healthy range.

I was too thin at my lowest but my brain would not see that. It would come to me in flashes when I saw my stick like legs on a photo or when I was unwell with no reserves but the thought was then gone.

I was almost happy before the op, jabbing every 2 - 3 weeks. I had stopped weighing myself and counting calories because it made me obsess more so I'm not really sure what was happening weight wise. I suspect I was going up and down.

I'd like to see if I can try to find a way through without starting MJ again but it's been incredibly hard last week. Early days though...

FurForksSake · 12/01/2026 07:21

Braved the scales, apparently gained 1.5 pounds. I don’t think I have. I had a really big whoosh down and then some has come back, but I also feel constipated and bloated and had too many salty things over the weekend. I’m going to pay close attention and up my fluids.

I’ve also been going to hydro twice a week, walking more and doing quite a lot of resistance exercise, so maybe a tiny amount of inflammation from that.

im 2.5lbs over target, which is fine for this point in January. Just need to correct it and not let it continue.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2026 10:36

I was thinking the same as @FurForksSake - but even 6s so to 8s 7 that’s a bmi of 18.6 and unhealthy /underweight is 18.5

so tho you want to more weight gaining that stone is prob better for your health @Pumplepolly

we are not having a go. Just concerned

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2026 10:38

If the 1.5 is from last week then possibly yes but if from yesterday if you weight daily then now / hope that makes sense

either way I’m sure you will get it off over the next week or two @FurForksSake so don’t feel too bad

I saw an article today that said the 7.2mg higher dose of Wegovy has been approved. Hopefully this will help some ppl finish their journey following switching from Mounjaro.

@Blondeshavemorefun I have been on 7.5 for about a month. First day after holiday and Monday is my jab day. Haven't eaten much today...no breakfast, L 2 ryvitas with butter and dinner was 3 Aldi chicken sausages, Iceland cauliflower cheese (yummy) and Brussels sprouts. Total cals including milk in tea and coffee = under 600, but need a few days on low calories as I feel bloated after holiday.

Azuresky68 · 12/01/2026 20:02

Has anyone tried the My Protein ready meals in Iceland? I am trying to avoid ready meals for a few weeks but always good to have a couple in the freezer. I like my posh Aldi ready meals and they freeze well.

Azuresky68 · 12/01/2026 20:13

@Pumplepollythanks so much for joining in with the chat. No judgement here in this lovely group. We have all struggled with different things and are here to support eachother ❤️
