We have all been on for heading up to 17mths now- we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

most of us are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This next year will almost be harder.

To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

only 2 words to say 😂😂

Hello fruits - sounds like you are all doing brilliantly well 🙂
We are away for a couple days for new year visiting my in laws. We arent staying with them which gives me a bit of controll over food choices thankfully.
Staying in Liverpool tonight for a mooch down the waterfront and dinner out - will counteract extra calories with lots of walking tonight & shopping in the morning!

20bloodypounds · 29/12/2025 19:33

@morbidcuriosity 2.5mg (I never went beyond about 6mg without feeling or being sick). I'm thinking that alternate months works for me rather than 1.25mg every week. After a month off in November i slightly hoped that taking 2.5mg again would have the same effect as the very first time I had it. It didn't. But it has certainly seen me through December without mishap or weight gain.

I'm thinking that after about 6 months of one on / one off I might experiment with 2 months off - essentially to see whether I have actually learnt new food habit that I can maintain in the long term BUT with an MJ safety net if I need help.

morbidcuriosity · 29/12/2025 20:26

@20bloodypounds ah fair enough with the 2.5 . I hope i can get down to that. Still going with the 10mg, I want to try 7.5 but have decided at least 1 more 10 pen before I try.

Oh god I just lost a couple of hours of my life on a AIBU thread about MJ and other WLI. There are some ignorant and horrible judgemental people out there spouting 'known facts' about WLIs because their cousin's next dor neighbour lied to get it and now looks old and haggard!

Every time I swore to myself that I'd leave it someone else asked a really stupid question (won't you put it all back on again? everyone I know has...) or made a statement that was blatently untrue. And I couldn't resist wading in - again.

It started as 'everyone knows' that anyone who's lost a lot of weight is on the jabs - so why do they lie about it' and descended from there. Some truly spiteful people and I wasted my time with reasoned arguments when some of them are just not interested in considering any other opinion than the one they have.

Fortunately I haven't come across people like that in real life.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/12/2025 03:18

I sadly have and why I havnt said to anyone

do you have a link. Feel like diving down a rabbit hole 😂😂

Its very depressing. People asking personal questions, tgst are none of their business and then saying you are being deceitful if you didn't immediately 'admit' to WLI.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/12/2025 16:24

Oh it’s full. So I have a 1000 to read. I shall over time - thanks

Happy new year auggies!

we had a New Year’s Eve party with a buffet, I didn’t even pick up a plate! Or drink anything. I had two bits of bread with Camembert and a couple of tiny spring rolls and that was it. I do find mj means I just can’t be bothered with food at times. If I have a dinner I’ll eat it and make sure it’s balanced, but a buffet did nothing for me.

Today dh is taking the kids for breakfast (we also have niece with us) but I’m in too much pain so won’t.

it’s due to be turkey and leek pie and vegetable for dinner with trifle for pudding, I’m hoping I’ll manage to make that later.

I’ve managed walks most days, just a mile or two but I’ve really noticed how being this weight my knees don’t hurt and I’m not struggling for breath or feeling puffed. I’m in pain with my hip but feel like I could walk miles if that was ok. We walked up an accidental hill and it was easy. I guess carrying six stone less made that easy.

I got one comment about my weight, just that I’d lost a lot and I just said thank you!

family member had managed to be prescribed some mj, didn’t tell anyone. Not sure how as she’s got several health conditions and gallstones. She’s now having some gallbladder discomfort and had to come off it. She’s lost some weight using it but now she’s struggling with her gallbladder she’s finding eating difficult and feeling a bit miserable. I’ve never discussed with them that I take it, but it is not that well hidden in my fridge. I feel weirdly guilty, but if she’d asked I’d have said she needed to tell the provider everything.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/01/2026 11:03

Happy and healthy 2026 for us all my little auggies 🥰

yes have to be truthful if have any medical issues. Luckily I don’t

well done to being good at buffets @FurForksSake. Thats where calories are !!

I had Chinese and baileys last night. Was very nice

about to have round 2 of Xmas dinner with my dad today

after walking is easier weighing less and dropping from 15 to 5 I did notice the pain levels were higher but seemed to level out now so that’s good

I’m having to lower my naproxen as have kidney issues as results too low but hopefully rising slowly a pain isn’t too bad - think as been lowering slowly and body getting used to it

will try 2.5 tomorrow and do for a month and see how weigh and pain are by end of jan

Just looked at my weights I've recorded and starting 21st August to dec 31st I lost 4 stone. Amazing and this year dec 31st to Dec 31st I've lost another 4 stone.
So 4stone 1st 6 months then a year for the next 4 stone.. Well chuffed with that. Well it's 2lb off 8 stone exactly but we won't worry about that I'll keep with thinking it's 8 stone gone.
The maintaining is going well, was shocked to see a mince pie had 230 calories. But the 2 I ate were tasty.
Happy new year all..

Azuresky68 · 01/01/2026 17:34

@FurForksSake well done!

Azuresky68 · 01/01/2026 17:36

@morbidcuriosity that's amazing 👏 ps I love mince pies..in the past I could easily eat a whole box of 6...not this year though 😀

Azuresky68 · 01/01/2026 17:37

@Blondeshavemorefun good luck with 2.5 ..hope it works well for you 😍

Azuresky68 · 01/01/2026 17:38

Happy NY everyone. Wishing you all the very best xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/01/2026 20:14

@morbidcuriosity 4s in 6mths is amazing and 8s in 18mths.

hate mince pies as don’t like raisins etc

thanks @Azuresky68 will see how I do. It’s 20 clicks from my 7.5

happy new year all

Did 2.5 today the first one so will see what happens in jan and if weight piles back on

OP posts:
20bloodypounds · 02/01/2026 13:47

@Blondeshavemorefun I don't think it will 'pile' back on, given how you've managed on 5mg. You previously said your current weight might be a bit low for you - have you got used to it? Or do you have a range where putting on a couple of pounds would be OK?

FurForksSake · 02/01/2026 14:53

Weighed in this morning, apparently gained 4lbs. I’m giving myself till Monday and then will be tracking and restricting to get them back off. I don’t think it will stick for long.

This is often where I have fallen down before, not keeping my eye on the ball and losing the gain quickly. It will be two weeks of close monitoring to get those 4lbs off. If I left it it would be harder and take a lot longer.

My goal was 11s. I then dropped without trying and eating 600c extra a day to 10.7

then 10.4 making 7s loss and I hover between 10.4/10.7 usually

never gone over 10.7 so guess that’s my point I’m happy with even tho was happy to have got to 12

Sure it’s not a gain and prob water an sure will be off by next week

@FurForksSake I agree. I think on previous diets I would have relaxed for about 6 months then suddenly realised I'd put a stone back on. Having spent so much on this I am determined to keep my focus and deal with any gains quickly. Plus I do want to confound the naysayers who "know that everyone will put all the weight back on when they stop WLI" That gives me a lot of determination!

FurForksSake · 02/01/2026 16:27

You are so right about proving people wrong, I’ll rage maintain if nothing else!
