Oh I found a photograph. All I can say is .... don't! It was a bit gruesome.

Oh my gawd, I couldn’t help myself - it is GROSS

ElsieJay · 14/11/2025 18:25

@Apprenante - I have 10lbs to go, I’m 73 so don’t want to go any lower, and be constantly struggling to maintain it.
Just the dream of being 9 stone something !
I was 14 stone 12lbs at my very worst - being 5ft 2ins in my socks it’s not a milestone I want to revisit.

Apprenante · 14/11/2025 18:47

@ElsieJay I'm basing my plans on the age-related BMI figures which suggest that 27 is acceptable for older women - I'm 71. I was 9 stone 12 at 18 and I look fine in those photos. I don't think I would now. Maybe I'll change my mind as I get closer ....

Sorry @HKG

ElsieJay · 14/11/2025 19:14

@Apprenante I’ve just checked the age related BMI calculator, and I’m presently at 27, which was good to know.
My lowest weight since having my family was 8st 9lbs, attending a Rosemary Conley slimming group, doing her workout videos twice a day and starving myself to get to “target”.
I maintained it for one whole week ! 🤣

Placestogo · 14/11/2025 19:32

I did not know that an age related BMI was a thing!
in that case i am only 6lbs away from the healthy range instead of 20lbs away!! Thats great. I was going to lose aboit 10lbs before starting maintenance - that will be perfect for my age (49)

DottyMcDiet · 14/11/2025 19:50

Congratulations @lissie123 thats fantastic! 🙌

I’m celebrating losing an elephant penis 🎉 but still have a long way to go.

SutekhsEars · 15/11/2025 07:44

STS this week, which I'm happy enough with. Looking forward to starting back swimming next week.
Had a bit of a realisation the other day - pilates is so much easier if you're not carrying round an extra 20kg! I actually felt fairly competent at it. Is that a NSV? I think it is.

Placestogo · 15/11/2025 08:13

@SutekhsEars it is definitely a NSV! Well done!
i do yoga and in may i was struggling with putting my foot in between my hands from the downward dog position. I can do it now! Not having an extra roll of belly fat is super useful too with all the bends! I really enjoy seeing what my body can do now.
my NSV tbis week is that i can do a psuh-up!!

HKG · 15/11/2025 09:40

Good morning my friends!

I’ve just seen anothe thread about Robbie Williams saying MJ is affecting his eyesight - I don’t really like posting elsewhere on the forum as not sure if people are as balanced and supportive as you lovely lot are so bringing it here instead!

has anyone noticed any changes in eyesight since on MJ that you think are related? I have noticed mine is a bit worse , a bit harder to focus but equally I’m menopausal and used to wear glasses when I was younger AND under a lot of work stress so I assumed it was all these things (and that it would improve when work eased off and I can rest again) but now I’m curious. Let me know if you’ve noticed anything?

Thank you friends!

WhynotJanet · 15/11/2025 11:00

Yes @HKG , over the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed my vision is a bit more blurry and was going to get my sight checked.

HKG - i actually googled this last week and read that it was due to dehydration and it was temporary. I do tend to struggle to drink as soon as the cold weather sets in so i can believe that. I am also due an eye test soon so i was planning to mention MJ to the optician. Most of what ive read online is that it is temporary. Of course theres nothing scientific to my research so please take it with a pinch of salt.

Oh thank you so much for this! I really do appreciate it. That makes total sense of course and my water intake has slipped the last month or so so I’m going to up that again and see how it goes. I’m also due an eye test so will mention it too. Keep me posted on yours??

Hope it is a temporary thing. It’s also not blurred all the time just occasionally

FlorenceNightshade · 15/11/2025 16:33

Weekly check in for me! I actually did my 26th Jab yesterday but forgot 🙈

SW 92.9kg BMI 30
GW 67.4kg met 🥳
CW 66.4 BMI 21.4
Final goal weight no lower than 65kg I think.

Total loss 26.5kg that’s 4 stone or 58lbs gone!

So this is my attempt at starting maintenance. For the third week I’ve used 2.5mg instead of the 3.75mg I’d been on and it seems to be working okay, still some suppression but definitely using willpower more!

My weights been a bit up and down this week and the lowest number I’ve seen was 65.8kg and that gave me a bit of a start so I’m thinking definitely no lower than 65kg! I read something on Instagram about “ideal weight” so fell down that rabbit hole and actually where I am now is about right for me.

If I think I’m losing too much I will drop down to 1.25mg next week but hopefully I can gradually increase my intake and decrease the MJ to find an equilibrium. I don’t think it will be that straightforward but we shall see!!

It’s so impressive reading everyone’s updates and how we are all pushing through and seeing real results (even if they are tiny little wins they are still wins!).

I’ve bought some Christmas Jumpers that I actually like this year instead of what I think will fit and not attract attention! The NSVs feel more important sometimes and I love reading how we are all smashing it in our own ways!

Onwards and downwards ✌️

Evening all!! I’ve been a bit quieter than normal recently life has been bit hectic & stressful so I’ve turned into an antisocial turtle! 🙈

I've still loved reading about everyone’s up’s & down’s so thank you for sharing!

I have had a period of time (7 or 8 weeks) where the same pound has gone off & on! I haven’t eaten lots but equally haven’t been focussed and bits of chocolate had crept in in the evening as my stress relief!

anyway out of desperation I increased to 12.5mg and refocused in my water & protein & had a woosh!!! 5lb gone which takes me to a 4st 6lb loss. Very relieved & really hoping not to have another stall like that for a while!!!

how’re people going on the Christmas challenge ?? I’m adjusting mine as not going to make the number I set myself but instead hoping to make it to a total of 5st loss 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻then will just have 2.5st left to target which just blows my mind!!!!

HKG · 15/11/2025 20:51

@FlorenceNightshade good luck on maintenance! So exciting to see you start this journey and whilst I’m sure you’re right it won’t be a linear process, we’re all right here to support and cheer you on! Apologies if you’ve said this before but are you planning on coming off MJ entirely at some point or just find the lowest dose that works for your maintenance ?

@Seahorsesplendour well back! I’m the same, I receded I tk the shadows when stres is high so totally get you. Congrats on a 5lb whoosh though! Mega! Bet that was pleasing to to see on them scales!

FlorenceNightshade · 15/11/2025 20:57

@hkg I think I will end up coming off as I haven’t ordered for months as been using lower doses and extending the life of my pens!

I am so excited for you on this! I love MJ but the idea of being MJ free is also so motivating!

PinkScot · 15/11/2025 21:41

Changed my dose this week as 7.5 mg is giving me massive nausea so I jabbed 6.25. I’ve got 2lb to go to goal but separately I had a v stressful week and managed to put 0.75 on as I had a bit of naughty food mainly maltesers. I have learned though what a massive trigger stress is for my eating! My friend/partner in crime who has been on the MJ journey with me has got to goal this week so the pressure is on ! My aim is to get 1pound a week off for the next two weeks and no maltesers!!!!!

HKG · 15/11/2025 22:10

@PinkScot you got this! Malteser free zone!!!

VashtaNerada · 16/11/2025 04:02

I’ve been a bit absent from the thread recently - lots on at work. But now I’m randomly awake at 4am so found my way back! Side effects are so much better now I’m jabbing 3mg twice a week rather than 6mg in one go. Supression isn’t great though so I have occasionally been a bit silly with food. Finding that my Weightwatchers subscription is really helping me not go overboard. Happy to stay like this for a bit although the weight loss has slowed down, but at some point I’ll try upping it a little.

PandaIsMySpiritAnimal · 16/11/2025 09:12

Hi all, I'm back on the thread after life got in the way for about 6 weeks (had birthday celebrations, friends/family visiting so was full on).

October was very much meh in terms of weight loss, only lost 2lbs in the whole month, also similar pace in the beginning of November. But I'm now back focused properly and I can see the weight starting to shift again. Whilst the loss is very slow, I'm sure if I wasn't on M I would definitely have gained weight in a month like this previously.

SW 17.3 stones / 242 lbs / 109.9 kg
CW 13.8 stones / 193 lbs / 87.5 kg

Loss about 3.5 stones so far...and as of this morning I'm finally just overweight (29.9) not obese (starting BMI of 37.7)

I still have about 3 stones to go so at this pace I am aiming to be at my goal weight or thereabouts late April.

Amazing losses from the group across the last few weeks, so great to see some of you at target or really close to, some of you with 4st+ losses.

FlorenceNightshade · 16/11/2025 10:11

@HKG yeah I know what you mean. As grateful as I am for what MJ has helped me achieve I do eventually want to continue by myself and see how that goes knowing I have a backup plan!

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal congratulations on your new BMI category!!! That is amazing well done you!

@VashtaNerada i love how we can personalise our approach to the jabs and find what works best for us! If you weren’t able to balance the side effects with a different dosing schedule I imagine having to stop would have been inevitable at some point! Well done you for finding a way through and keeping going 🥳

Hi all, I haven’t been around for a long time. It is great to check in and see how great everyone is doing. I’ve lost a cinder block since start of May but really quite disappointed overall as I’m still BMI 33. Can I ask what dosage you are on? I’m on 8.5mg and have been roughly 2 months on each dose but using clicks to move to each higher dose pen really slowly. I’m not sure if this is right way but I’ve been keen to avoid side effects. Last few weeks I’m snacking big style on chocolate and crisps but also not particularly hungry. I feel I need a bit of a reset and maybe just go straight up to10mg.
I’m busy all week and get to the gym and cycle but I just crash at the weekend and feel quite fatigued and almost depressed. I jab on a Friday morning. It’s really getting me down. I can’t even be bothered with housework and it’s showing ☹️ Anyone like this on MJ? Thanks.
