Hello everyone is it ok if i rejoin?
I dropped off at thread 1 and struggled to find you.
Nice reading how everyone is getting on.
Congratulations on all your acheivements 😊
I started end of May at 82.4 kg
I am now 66.2 kg which Im thrilled with , can just about get into trousers i havent worn for over 10 years!
But still am in overweight bmi category which if im honest im a bit pissed off with !
seems impossible or miserable or both to lose the the last 6kg to scrap just into healthy weight and ideally id like to lose 8kg so im comfortably in it.
Im toying with the idea of accepting this is it.
As its so expensive to continue after price prices , especially at higher doses.
Ive had my first 12.5 mg injection today to try and move it along. Generally ive stayed on same dose for 10 weeks( with golden dose)
Im a short 54 year old post menopausal female.
I looked at the thread thats aimed at shorties losing weight but frankly their diet looked bloody miserable and I still love food even on MJ!
Has anyone else plateued in overweight category?
Im exercising 3 times a week plus daily dog walks.
My TDEE is around 1600 calories.
Just hoping for some solidarity.
Its been much slower than i thought but i am happy with how i look even with a wobbly tum (and still being overweight grrr!)

Gingercar · 15/01/2026 09:19

Hi welcome back. You sound like you have done really well. I think a lot of us have plateaued or massively slowed down for the last couple of months. I’ve not even made it to the overweight catagory yet. And I also still have a big appetite and love food on MJ. Personally I think I need to up the exercise, but can’t until next month.

Hi I also started mid May and commented on the very beginning of the first thread.
I am stuck in the overweight category and need to lose another 7lbs to get into a healthy BMI.
I took am a shortie and mid sixties.
I feel so much happier at this weight (9st 7lbs) especially as people are noticing and complimenting me.
I was determined to get the next half a stone off but think I will settle for concentrating on not putting any more weight on.
I think I will just use my supply of pens up and hope I can maintain.
Wish me luck and hope you have good luck too!

Dutchhouse14 · 15/01/2026 16:21

@Lifecircle 9st7 is amazing!!
Im at 10st 5 in old money.ideally need to lose another stone which would get my bmi to 24.
Good luck with either maintaining or losing that half a stone

Theres been a lot in press about people regaining quickly once coming off MJ which is a bit worrying, i may need to stay on a low dose although ideally would come off it completely

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 15/01/2026 19:00

Gosh you skinny minnies!

Lifecircle · 16/01/2026 00:27

It's really worrying to think after all the money spent and the effort applied to changing eating habits it could all go tits up once we come off the jabs altogether.
I'm still officially overweight as I'm only 5ft and without a buffer of losing a few more lbs it's concerning.
Despite the cost I'm preparing myself to remain on it indefinitely albeit at a small dose.

ElsieJay · 16/01/2026 12:20

Hello all , and welcome back to Lifecircle and Dutch !
Lovely bright and dry morning here, a welcome change after rainy days and foggy evenings. Our snowdrops in the front garden are flowering beautifully , the ones in the back not so much ( stern look at the foxes who keep digging in the tubs ….). 🦊

Lost one pound at WW earlier, so now just 0.5lbs from my target. Ideally I’d like to go lower , but I need to find a weight I can maintain.
Back in May I’d hoped this would be possible without WLIs, but now I think a small dose for an indefinite time is the way ahead. Trying not to think too much about the cost ….

Onwards and downwards, as the mornings and evenings become lighter and so do we !

Gingercar · 16/01/2026 17:42

What’s made you change your mind Elsie?

It’s my mum’s funeral on Tuesday, I’m not particularly concentrating much on what I’m m eating at the moment, there’s so much to do. I’ll pick it up again after next week. I haven’t put anything on though.

I went to a reunion/soirée for a language class I used to go to. I’d occasionally teach there too. I hadn’t been since February. Lots of people commented. Some I’d taught barely recognised me.

Seahorsesplendour · 16/01/2026 19:08

a other stressful week in our house & I’ve not done well!! Struggling to get my water & protein in!!

on the plus side tried this recipe out & would recommend! Was lovely! I popped a tin of cooked lentils in also and worked well.

hope everyone has a good weekend!!

DBatteryBand · 16/01/2026 20:46

@Gingercar you need to just do what you need to do to get through what you're dealing with. I hope you're finding time to be kind to yourself, although I know how busy you must be. Losing a parent is seismic loss, and seismic change. It might not be of any practical use, but lots of us on the May threads are thinking of you with kindness and sympathy, and would reach out to take your hand if we could. Take care.

Gingercar · 16/01/2026 20:56

Thank you @DBatteryBand, those are lovely words. This is such a kind group. I’m still mostly ok. Very busy sorting everything. I have a feeling it will all rush up and hit me after the funeral. I could probably sleep for a week afterwards.

Seahorsesplendour · 16/01/2026 21:59

@Gingercar Im so sorry 💐 I hadn’t read your message when I posted mine - lesson learned!

absolutely you need to do what you need to do.

as @DBatteryBand said lots of us thinking of you & sending best wishes. 💞

Kbr22 · 16/01/2026 22:30

STW 83kg

GW 62.
Hi all, I haven’t posted for a few weeks, but am still losing slowly. I am still in overweight BMI so will try and keep going. I have been able to get into size 12 jeans, the first for about 20 years. My problem is my tummy is disgusting!! I can’t bear looking at it, so will have to address this soon. I’m gong to Malaysia for a holiday in 2 weeks, and need new clothes but they are all winter sale, anyone any ideas where I can get spring/summer clothes at this time of the year. I have nothing that fits, all mine from last year are a size 18!!

@Gingercar you will definitely need some self care after the funeral, take your time, I found this the worst time after losing my mum. @DBatteryBand agree we are all thinking of you @Gingercar and will be for the upcoming weeks.
Love that we are still here from the beginning of the May 2025 thread. Thanks for all the support x

kiwiane · 16/01/2026 23:16

Well done everyone, I too am in size 16 jeans - slightly baggy but fit at the waist - I’m bmi 26 and started at 33. I’d like to lose another 20 lbs but my weight loss has slowed right down since the beginning of December.
I’m trying to low carb as a booster to get the weight moving but I wasn’t having many carbs anyway so that’s not much different.
Overall I’m so pleased we started when we did, it would’ve been hard as a newcomer to justify paying the current price for MJ.

SutekhsEars · 17/01/2026 09:30

Morning everyone.
@Gingercar , be kind to yourself. Just try to stay hydrated and don't worry about anything else until next weekend. You'll be in our thoughts on Tuesday. 💐
Welcome back to the returners as well!

I need to change something. I haven't lost anything in two months. I'm just wasting money now. I've restarted slimpod and am drinking more water, but it's not enough. I think I'm out of kilter with my meals - I keep having a healthy but unfilling lunch, then needing something mid-afternoon, then not being particularly hungry at dinner time, but eating anyway, because I like us to eat as a family. So I need to sort my lunches out - it's so useful typing to you invisible strangers - I never would have figured out that without chatting to you!

ElsieJay · 17/01/2026 10:03

Hello all 👋.
@Gingercar - wishing you all the very best for Tuesday.
Agree with @Kbr22, with Mum I focussed so much on the funeral that it wasn’t until afterwards the realisation hit that she was gone, forever. Not a good time . Look after yourself. 💐 xx

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 18/01/2026 18:07

@Kbr22 Next has summer clothes all year round, worth a look. Very, too.

Speaking of clothes, what are people wearing? I was wearing jeans with a shirt tucked in, but dp took a picture of me in one of those outfits for my mj pen order and the outfit didn't look good.

@Gingercar am thinking of you. This may be unbearably cheesy but when i lost my dad, who had been ill for some time, i was repeatedly shocked that grief was not a straight line. More like a mountain range, not a straight line and some of hidden in plain sight. Think I was shocked he'd actually died, he'd been poorly for so long but survived so many setbacks. How dare he, you know!

I know we're all here for you, anyway.

SussexLass87 · 18/01/2026 21:46

Sending love and a hand hold @Gingercar💐

Kbr22 · 18/01/2026 22:50

Thanks @DidILeaveTheGasOn I will look at next, I don’t know why I didn’t think of them! I wear my jeans now with the shirt tooked into the front but leave the back out. It took a bit of practice but it gives me some shape, which I definitely didn’t have before, you can layer with a gilet, as that gives me a bit more confidence.

SussexLass87 · 18/01/2026 22:54

@DidILeaveTheGasOn I've really changed how I used to dress - some hits and many misses it feels at the moment.

I've had to add some thin base layers as I'm so flipping cold since losing weight!

I'm in straight jeans or flared jeans, wide legged black trousers and more fitted blouses. Tucked in too which is new and exciting!

Still got leggings and loose jumpers for the many dog walks.

*I'm a grown woman who is genuinely excited at the prospect of tucking my top into her trousers. Hangs head in shame.

kiwiane · 19/01/2026 04:37

I like having a waist again and have got rid of my tunics and I do like being able to tick in a blouse. My large size jumpers hang off me and somehow I find it harder to let them go, so I was pleased to be wearing a new close fitting medium sized one.
I’ve a few nice clothes I wouldn’t mind keeping if they could be altered - has anyone had any luck with that? I may try to do it myself with easy things like skirts.

Placestogo · 19/01/2026 06:13

@SussexLass87 my DP says i have turned into a ninja because i am SO cold, everyday i wear my long sleeved thermal and leggings, all in black, then i dress up!
on Saturday i have bought my first pair of jeans since on this journey!!! A pair of M&S flares, in size 12!!!
i have bought lots of 4 new jumpers this winter and they are hit and miss, some are larger (M) when i think a smaller size might have looked better… but in my mind i cannot possibly be a S!!
ive noticed im looking more at fashion influencers online and at the S&B forum on here… i would like to buy more clothes but my bank account doesn’t let me!!!

i am also going to the gym almost 3 times a week. I am starting to have muscles in my arms… i cant wait to see my new toned up figure in 2-3 months….

i have decided to lose 2 more kg and call it my GW. Maintenance (on a low dose) here i come!!

@gingercarthinking of you ❤️‍🩹

SutekhsEars · 19/01/2026 14:43

I don't really have a waistline - never did, even when I was in my 20s living off caffeine & nicotine! Tucked in tops still look rubbish on me, but I'm trying to wear slimmer fitting tops with e.g. flared jeans.
I've ordered 7.5 for my next pen. I'm going up to 5 from my current pen until I hit GW, no more messing about. I had a more filling lunch today - merchant gourmet grains with my salad & fish - so I think I'll get through to dinner time without snacking. Tbf, I had too much porridge for breakfast today and had indigestion all the way through my Pilates class. 😆

Apprenante · 19/01/2026 17:45

Thinking of you all who are struggling one way or another. Special thoughts to @Gingercar of course.

Apologies if anything I say is bizarre, my thinking is disordered today. I fell down a whole flight of stairs on Friday night (not drunk, it was when I got up to use the loo). I've been in hospital with concussion. Sadly I have no memory at all of the blue-lighted ambulance, the paramedics or anything else until several hours later.

I will have a couple of interesting scars but as they're on my head no one will see them so no bragging rights. My daughter is finding my goldfish memory hysterically funny but I'm forgiving her as she's being very supportive too. She cleaned the house of all the CSI evidence I'd sprayed around

I have wondered how much worse it would have been pre-Mounjaro. As it is I have no broken bones, just interesting (and b*dy painful) bruises.

SutekhsEars · 19/01/2026 18:47

@Apprenante poor you! What a shock! Hope the bruising isn't too painful. Take it easy for a few days. 💐
