Congratulations on getting in your uniform @Gingercar. I’m guessing it’s not that forgiving so that’s a great result. A little word of warning re trying wedding dresses on after time. I got mine back from the cleaners 6 months or so afterwards, tried it on and asked DH to do it up. Let’s just say he had other ideas and DS was born 9 months later. Blush

DBatteryBand · 11/01/2026 07:17

Lovely to read this thread and catch up on what everyone is up to.

After staying the same weight for two weeks over Christmas, I lost 5 pounds this week and, amazingly, miraculously I am now OVERWEIGHT!!!! I cannot remember ever not being obese . I have a tremendous urge to go to my GP's surgery, jump on the scales and shout, 'In your face!'

Might save that for when I'm in the 'healthy' BMI range.

Placestogo · 11/01/2026 09:54

@DBatteryBand hold your horses about going to your GP and jumping on the scales… i went to mine yesterday and they made me weight myself fully clothed which added an extra 4 kilos to my usual weight!!!!! I wasnt pleased but didnt make a fuss because who cares really…

but well done for being overweight now! Such a great feeling!!!

i have the worst cold ever and spent yesterday in bed.. will try to go for a walk later on well wrapped.
i have bought myself a garmin watch as an incentive to move more and focus on exercises… hoping i’ll feel better soon and i can put all its functionalities to use soon - as i am approaching GW i really want to develop better habits/lifestyle

ElsieJay · 11/01/2026 10:36

That was a great morale-booster, @Gingercar ! I think uniforms are designed to be unflattering to most women.
Missing the MN laughing emoji to respond to your cautionary tale, @HereIGoOnceMore ….🤣🤣.
Congratulations on your 5lbs “whoosh”, @DBatteryBand, great start to 2026.
And hope you’re feeling much better very soon, @Placestogo.

still plodding away slowly here. slightly less than 1kg per week I think. Weigh daily but hard to keep track as it fluctuates so much.

have no clothes that fit, and yesterday was in a shopping centre.

first time in literally years that I picked up size 16s and could browse the whole shop!

im not really a shopper or a clothes person but maybe that just became a side effect of not finding stuff to fit before.

I was in size 20/22 this time last year. Or size XL in clothes. Heavy and lethargic.

This is addictive. I still find I’m having to work at it. And make sensible choices. But the energy I have for walking and tennis again is amazing.

I don’t really have a goal weight but not stopping yet.

starting weight 123kg
current weight 94.5 kg

ElsieJay · 11/01/2026 17:20

That’s great , @SignedUpAgain !

I had to convert your weight loss into imperial
(old gimmer here ! 👵🏼) and that’s four and a half stone off in a year - well done you !
It’s difficult to summon up enthusiasm for clothes shopping when you don’t feel confident - a whole new world of choice opens up at size 16.

HKG · 12/01/2026 18:04

Awesome HKG!!👏👏👏

SutekhsEars · 12/01/2026 21:35

I just accidentally took my long necklace off over my head along with my t-shirt - it's never done that before. Do you think my head is less fat now? Is that even possible? 😆

Skinny Minny!

Apprenante · 13/01/2026 09:50

34F bra - down from 40DD. I'll leave that here too.

Apprenante · 13/01/2026 09:56

What achievements - jeans and skinny heads all round.

We are AMAZING whether we've lost loads or not. We're STILL HERE and still trying. The 'death jabs' don't do it on their own, whatever the media tell us, we're working jolly hard to do this.

SutekhsEars · 13/01/2026 10:41

Well done, @Apprenante , that's amazing!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/01/2026 10:44

Loving the size 14 jeans! And dainty boobs!

Also @DBatteryBand Yesssss to being overweight! Me too!

Terribly skint here and having to make cutbacks to continue. We've started having 85p noodles regularly for lunch. I must say though that the price of the weekly shop has escalated to the point where it costs the same as a pen, and I feel we're encouraged to plow on regardless with one of those and view the other as a luxury. None of it makes much sense to me, health care is optional and the weekly shop is about the same as a car on hire purchase.

I am now at 176lbs and wading around in my size 18 jeans. I have 2 pairs of size 16 jeans, I need more but: money.

Due to have knee surgery in a couple of weeks, if anyone remembers me going to the gym in May last year and snapping my ACL! Bit worried about weight gain during recovery but mainly excited to get it fixed and get back out there!

Well said ! - and congratulations on the shrinking boobs too. I need to get properly measured soon, luckily there’s a very good independent shop not too far away. Hoping for more decorative and less functional !

Wishing you all the best for your upcoming surgery, @DidILeaveTheGasOn. 💐 xx

HKG · 13/01/2026 13:13

@Apprenante YAS!!!! Winning!

HKG · 13/01/2026 13:17

@DidILeaveTheGasOn i hear you on those escalating prices! I said hear before, I think I’m on my last two pens for £££ reasons. I won’t be at goal but them DCs gotta eat!

176 is HUGE but not huge if you see what I mean - well done! Feels like we need a clothes swop to keep each other going sometimes, surely there can be a central WLI clothes bank?! The choice we’re forced to make between food and health is nuts. Either way though you are winning with your success !

Foreveronaplane · 13/01/2026 20:17

@Apprenante @HKG woo hoo! Congratulations .. it’s hard work losing weight .. all the news articles about ‘fat jabs’ seem to miss out that fact!
@DidILeaveTheGasOn hope the surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/01/2026 21:47

Thank you!

I saw pictures of me at an event a couple of months ago, when I was a stone heavier, and I was dismayed at how big I looked. I think I have at least 50lbs to go which is more than I'd planned for. I started at 240lbs and hoped 140lbs would be on the lean side, but I seem to be carrying weight differently in my 40s. I could be on mj for another 8 months.

Yikes.

SutekhsEars · 14/01/2026 09:44

I increased my dose by a tiny amount a couple of weeks ago and now the freaky dreams are back!

lissie123 · 14/01/2026 12:23

Yes the freaky dreams are weird @SutekhsEars aren’t they? Not sure why I’m still getting them after eight months of being on the medication
