I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

Interesting to hear you’re all just going for it, I’m impressed.

My first pen arrived this morning but I’m concerned how I’ll be feeling for work.

Also figure if I take it just before a weekend that’ll help with suppression? Weekends are a weak spot for me.

Springbaby2023 · 11/11/2025 13:43

@NoNewClothes To be honest I decided I’d probably rather feel crap at work, than feel crap at the weekend managing the kids! Weekends are definitely a weak spot for me too so it may be that I look to change to a Thursday maybe longer term but just wanted to get the first one over and done with and see what happened.

ThatLemonBiscuit · 11/11/2025 14:24

I’ve hit a bit of a plateau after the first few months on Mounjaro and was looking into what might help. I came across some advice that explained a few small tweaks that seem to make a difference like rotating injection spots so you’re not always using the same patch of fat and sticking religiously to the same day each week.
Has anyone here tried changing up the site or timing and noticed any difference? I might experiment and see if it helps!

How to turbo-charge your Mounjaro weight loss with our experts' hacks

After a few months on fat jabs such as Wegovy or Mounjaro, the feeling of suppression can start to wane and weight loss can stall.

I’ve just done my first one! Feels a bit weird ! I think I pulled it out a bit quick.. but hopefully will start to work!

MoonlightAndDadDancing · 11/11/2025 19:46

Have lost 3lb in first week - I’m happy with that as I often find the weight loss doesn’t always show up in the first week. 2nd Jan tonight done ✔️

TheHappyHedgehog · 11/11/2025 21:13

Today was the second of my weekly weigh-in days. I’ve lost 1.9kg (4lbs) in the last week. That’s now been added to my 2.5kg (5.5lbs) from the week before. Really happy with that as even though I know it will slow down it’s really kick start and will keep me motivated.

icanhazwillpower · 11/11/2025 22:06

Thanks @tobee :)

It’s so positive us all making this change to be healthier! Personally i can’t wait to feel confident again in clothes, rather than bursting out of them. Excited to run about after my kids and not feel so out of breath and unfit.

How is everyone feeling? Tonight has been rather odd no food noise to snack, not really feeling hungry. I managed to eat a healthy dinner (chicken broccoli and rice) without feeling hungry for chocolate or something sweet straight after.

I have got a little bruise next to where i jabbed my tummy but then i do bruise from the slightest bump!

Springbaby2023 · 11/11/2025 22:10

So far not feeling any different to before I took the jab. But not expecting anything to change instantly. Also done two hours of sport so I think that I may have been hungry after that regardless! Just having an electrolyte drink now to hopefully counteract any side effects caused by not enough water.

tobee · 11/11/2025 23:40

I had dinner on my own tonight so cooked what I fancied. I had a definite desire to eat, was a bit hungry. I had one skinless chicken thigh that I griddled with olive oil and lemon juice, small portion of basmati rice, mixed bean salad, half an avocado, 2 inches of feta and a tomato. It was really tasty and I finished all of it but it was way less than I usually eat; I'd deliberately made a smallish amount. Couple of glasses of water.

I wanted to just see how I went with a small amount of my normal food.

4 hours later I still feel satisfied. Just had a coffee.

tobee · 11/11/2025 23:44

I tell you what will be a test. Any time I'm trying to have a healthy day (I was on 5:2 intermittent fasting for years) and someone else in the house does garlic bread, it's so hard having to resist it 😃 So if I’m ok with that smell, it’ll be a good sign!

NoNewClothes · 12/11/2025 11:54

Yes anything fresh bread or pastry related is too much of a temptation for me. I don’t buy to have in, but can’t turn down if offered! That’ll be the test for me.

tobee · 12/11/2025 12:17

I've noticed since my jab I've not had any tummy rumbling. Normally thinking of food makes my tummy rumble and mouth water, when I'm trying to diet/eat healthily.

It's very weird to have to learn and understand about new hunger cues.

Fifiellz · 12/11/2025 12:30

I’ve not had any tummy rumbling either - very wierd! My suppression is so high after taking my second jab I am struggling to get any food in. I don’t fancy anything!! There isn’t one food that’s appealing to me. I was another 2lb down this morning making it 9lbs in 8 days but I didn’t want to lose so fast, I wanted to use it as a tool to help me eat more healthily but it’s working far too powerfully on me at the moment 😩

Springbaby2023 · 12/11/2025 12:47

About 24 hours since taking the jab and I’ve not noticed any changes yet! On the plus side no nasty side effects, on the negative side no change in appetite or cravings.

Pastry is my biggest weakness really so that will be a proper test for me too!

tobee · 12/11/2025 12:52

I get flash pictures in my head of food (😄) but then it goes away and I'm not tortured by it. And I haven't got the usual hunger pangs related to that.

In my pre mounjaro life I would be on a fast day today for intermittent fasting, which, for me, entails eating one meal of approx 500 calories. I'm notionally sticking to that today because I'm not sure how mounjaro will work for me. But I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not.

diggitydoo · 12/11/2025 13:03

I just got the email from pharmacy4u that my first pen is on the way. So looks like I'll be joining this thread! Hello everyone.

Bloody hell this is all a bit surreal and emotional. I'm alot more overweight than all of you. I usually don't weigh myself as I find it far too difficult to do without triggering panic and self loathing, so that was very difficult weighing and video myself. How awful. Been in tears on and off for days about this.

SW 24st 3 pounds
Target - fuck knows , have no idea whether this will actually work. can't really think about this

I've never been less than 14 stone by memory in my adult life. and that was with alot of effort (weight watchers) and wasn't a great experience as I hated all the attention it got me. I've never been slim. I remember being 11 stone at 11 years old, 12 stone at 12 ... I've always been fat. I've learnt to live with it and bury the self loathing, ignore the fat phobia, just handle it all by putting it in a scary box that I never open.

But now I'm 51 and am pre diabetic and have a knee injury that isn't healing and canna really walk very far and I'm scared shitless of the rest of my life being about pain and illness. so I have to try.

but I can feel the panic rising and I'm really really scared . and being really really honest

tobee · 12/11/2025 13:08

Hi @diggitydoo. Well done for taking the plunge, yes it's nerve wracking not knowing how it will work isn't it? All we can do is wish each other luck!

Flowers to you after your emotional experiences.

SexyFrenchDepression · 12/11/2025 13:15

@diggitydoo congratulations for taking this first step! It is nerve wracking but I have found it the best thing ever. I noticed on the weightloss board that there are some threads for those with >5stone and >10stone to lose so they may be a great support to you also.

I am surprised I havent felt much hunger still also. I sometimes feel like I am empty but then dont fancy much and find it hard to eat, esp dryer foods.

I started 1st Nov and lost 8lb as of today, so not quite as much as you but I am surprised it is still coming off at that rate.

I told my husband yesterday, he reacted how I expected (and the reason why I didnt tell him before I had made the decision). He basically said I am perfect as I am (nice he feels like that but I still was around a BMI of 28 so a fair weight over normal) and that I don't need drugs (I clearly do as I am not managing it alone this last few years).

He has not said anything else, it is frustrating as I dont feel supported but we will see ...

Well done for starting!

don’t think about a final goal - just set a target for say 13 weeks to be at least a stone - stone and a half lighter - or whatever will help you and then maybe plan a small reward - some smaller clothes or something else you’d like - it could even just be a day to do whatever you want- no chasing around other people etc.

and once then pen is delivered, take your time with the instructions or a video so you know the steps and follow them. It doesn’t hurt at all so don’t be worried about it. I took my first dose just before bed so I’d sleep through the first hours.

Fifiellz · 12/11/2025 13:34

@SexyFrenchDepressionWe are like Mounjaro twins! I did tell my husband but he reacted the same way - he liked me as I am etc the only reason he supports me losing weight is for health reasons not because he finds me any less attractive bigger. It is cute but I’m not really discussing it with him now as he doesn’t really understand how I feel being bigger. I was always 9.5 stone and then since I hit my mid forties I gained very slowly 3 stone and nothing worked to get it off. I mean all the diets worked at the beginning but I was constantly sabotaging myself and could only commit to a week at most before I talked myself into wine and crisps. It’s mentally exhausting and I don’t miss that!

SexyFrenchDepression · 12/11/2025 13:46

@Fifiellz haha yep, I read your posts and feel like I have written them 😂

jaelato1 · 12/11/2025 13:48

@Springbaby2023 Some people suppression doesnt kick in until few days and sometimes up to even week 2 of Jab. While waiting though, up your protein and fibre intake and eat clean.

TheP1per · 12/11/2025 14:01

Can I ask you, how much are people eating? I had my first jab on Sunday and I’m not remotely hungry. I don’t feel sick or anything and can eat when I have too but I just don’t feel like it. So my portions have been small as I’m aware I need to reduce my portion sizes. I woke up today, not hungry but my intestines were kind of rumbling like they were empty so I assume I’m not eating enough.
