I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

Just over 48 hours since I had my first jab. Yesterday I had a bit of a headache for most of the day and felt very tired. Slight nausea but more like I needed to burp rather than actually vomit! Woke up this morning feeling so much better. Food wise I’ve been very good, but I can’t decide yet whether this is a sort of placebo because I know I’ve had the jab. I’d say I have felt hungry and I have thought about food, but I haven’t actually snacked at all and have just eaten small but healthy meals and much longer gaps between eating. I haven’t craved sugar at all which is very unlike me! Tonight I cooked a roast chicken and had roasted carrots, chicken and broccoli and just a couple of small roast potatoes. I did feel quite hungry afterwards though. So to sum up I’m very relieved I don’t seem to have had bad side-effects (so far!) but I know it’s early days. Interested to see what the week brings in terms of appetite suppression as the real test for me is when I’m sitting at my desk – I’m always busy but I’m often thinking about the next thing I can eat!

tobee · 09/11/2025 23:42

To those saying they are worried about feeling sad while taking MJ I hear ya! 😄

I love food, love all the variety and cooking is often my happy time! My favourite thing is to go out for meals and chatting and sharing a bottle of wine etc.

I love eating healthily. But I also enjoy a McDonalds and the odd kebab, cake and biscuits etc.

Having dithered about for so long, and worrying I'd be turned down for some reason and the ongoing cost, I was going to go for it when that exact day I was going to actually get to the end of the consultation the bloomin prices rises were announced and I had to check I could still go ahead.

Finally ordered last week and was very excited and upbeat. Then I found myself almost grieving giving up bad eating habits.

But then I often feel terrible guilt after eating and drinking too much so... this is what I have to do. I’m happier now about it all. But super nervous to start still.

Just did my second jab. 7lbs total lost in first week but I look visibly slimmer already - I have def reduced inflammation. I haven’t found I couldn’t enjoy food, after a shaky start where I just didn’t want to eat I have found that I am naturally choosing healthier options as I really don’t want fatty unhealthy foods. Im very impressed at the absolute lack of desire for wine - that is a revelation! Most weekends I am either drinking it or wishing I was. For that alone I would be happy to stay on a maintenance dose long term.
This week I need to get more protein in, start some exercise and drink more water! Good luck everyone - hope you all have a good week

I literally could have written this post word for word except that I lost 6lb not 7. I use my fitness pal which connects to my PTs app so have plugged in my food plan today and protein target is sorted for today. My cals are 1063 so fairly low, its working though and I'm not hungry. I have 3 hrs of sports coaching and then training myself tonight so I need the energy. Last week I thought I was going to pass out as was so out of it and dizzy!

I am away for the weekend this weekend and my friends I'm staying with dont know. Hopefully we'll eat out mostly so I can make good choices. Its 3 nights so I am worried a bit though. I cant do my Saturday weigh in either but will weigh friday and do jab number 3. I may just have to tell them. Neither of them really drink at all so that bit is nice and easy!

SexyFrenchDepression · 10/11/2025 12:11

Oh my reorder period starts from tomorrow I believe, seems really early as I didnt receive pen till 1st November but I think it is maybe from when I ordered (then waited for assessment etc). I am thinking I will go up to the 5 if they let me. Will be good over the build up to xmas for sure!!

Springbaby2023 · 10/11/2025 12:56

@tobee Thats what I keep telling myself - yes I love food but I don’t love the guilt and how much mental energy it’s taking up in my head at the moment.

@icanhazwillpower Mine has been dispatched from bolt already. I think I’ll start Thursday as working from home then and Friday.

You could try some of the headache gel strips as extra support?

they do look a bit off if out in public but I find they work for me…. Cool n soothe migraine relief is one brand I’ve used.

JustBeach · 10/11/2025 17:02

Hi all! I ordered a pen on a bit of a whim on Sunday and it’s arriving tomorrow ! I’ve been trying really hard all year to lose weight but just keep losing and regaining the same half a stone. Lots of my friends are taking it and I wasn’t against it, just I thought I could manage it myself! It gets so much harder the older you get. I only just qualified for it, so feel a bit of a fraud .. but if I don’t do something now it’s just going to get harder. I’m actually excited now!

when did you decide to take your first dose? I’m overthinking it! I tend to overeat on weekends, and am worried about side effects on Wednesday when I’m in the office. I’m also just tempted to start when it arrives tomorrow morning!

PatheticDistraction · 10/11/2025 18:22

A pretty good day - everything felt manageable until mid afternoon when I ate a crunchie...annoyed at myself - but normally I'd have eaten 3, whereas I really didn't feel the need to, I guess this is how most people with normal relationship with food feel?

Now I'm not hungry for dinner, so not sure whether to just forego it? I have steak & veg ready to cook, but now CBA to make it.

Springbaby2023 · 10/11/2025 18:28

@JustBeach Same timing as me, mine arrives tomorrow and I’m unsure whether to wait until Thursday to take it as working from home then and Friday, or whether to just go for it tomorrow as I’ve heard sometimes the side effects can be delayed anyway. Very apprehensive but told myself I just need to try a month and don’t have to then get more if I don’t want to.

JustBeach · 10/11/2025 20:28

@Springbaby2023im wfh Thursday and Friday too, and have a busy day Wednesday. I think I might just take it when I get home tomorrow.. no time like the present! I think I’ve convinced myself I’ll get bad side effects, and am overthinking the perfect time to take it! Everyone I have spoken with that is on it hasn’t had much in the way of side effects - so I’m going to stay positive and believe I won’t either!!

BlueMum16 · 10/11/2025 20:40

I took my first jab last Thursday. It arrived Tuesday I think but i was then terrified.

Took Thursday night as WHH plus the weekend . I felt a bit weird on Friday and on Saturday but fine by Sunday. I'm not sure if I was looking for side effects rather than having any IYKWIM.

We went to friends on Saturday night and I struggled to drink 3 bottles of beer when I'd usually have 5 or even 6 plus snacks. I had about 4 Pringles to give the appearances of eating. Last night I opened a bottle of red with dinner and only managed a glass and then another later on.

Trying to make healthy choices, just had an apple with almond nut butter to increase my protein and using MFP to track calories.

RoundandSad · 10/11/2025 21:04

I can't use the headache strips at work no I have to do site visits and stuff

I have to be aware of this and maybe get some spray vitamins

I felt a bit hangry today as I'm still trying to work out what I need to eat

Very grateful that my stomach has been okay so far

We have to go to friend's birthday meal on Wednesday and I'm not telling anybody so that's going to be difficult choosing what to eat and I certainly don't want pudding I don't really drink so that's not an issue

I looked at the menu in advance and I think fish stew is the best option also with it being a stew it might be not so easy for people to tell if I'm not eating much? I'm just really worried about stomach upset.

I have had a bit of reflux three nights not awful, but don't want to make it worse

tobee · 10/11/2025 22:09

Just had my first dose. Dh was reading the instructions and priming and I did the actual injection.

Too early to tell what will happen next!!

Been such a long time thinking about it; weird that I've actually done it.

The priming, and putting the needle in the pen and all that stuff is a right old palaver isn't it? I'm terrible at reading instructions properly so having Dh there made it easier.

Actually, having all that to think about took my mind off feeling more nervy.

NoNewClothes · 10/11/2025 22:58

Another member of the starting on Thursday club.

Being thinking about it for a while, trying to lose weight has been almost impossible, in fact going the opposite direction! I’ve got a lot of sandwich generation stress and I comfort eat during mini crises, despite being healthy most of the time

Tipping point is not fitting in any of my dressy clothes and thought better to spend money on trying WLIs than a new wardrobe?

Springbaby2023 · 11/11/2025 10:59

I’ve decided to start today when mine arrives rather than just worrying about it for more two days. I am hoping mind over matter will help with any side effects tomorrow. Downloaded Nutracheck (again), ordered some protein shakes, and had a nice healthy breakfast in preparation. Also got Guosto arriving on Thursday, my issue with Guosto usually is that I make healthy choices but eat two portions instead of one. Hoping the jab will help with the portion control!

I literally started straight put the delivery box, I am so impatient. I am really glad I did as within hours my appetite was suppressed, I was so surprised.

I felt better once I upped my water, I wish I had started on 2l+ water a day for a week before though as I felt I couldnt get myself hydrated.

Also I felt a bit hazy for a couple of days but managed work and gym ok, once I started taking creatine, B12 and collagen I felt better within a few days, cld be coincidence though.

Springbaby2023 · 11/11/2025 11:14

@SexyFrenchDepression That’s good to know! I’m started to be more excited than nervous now. I drink a lot of water anyway so not too concerned about that but have ordered some electrolytes to help, especially as I do exercise a fair amount. What are the benefits to collagen and creatinine?

SexyFrenchDepression · 11/11/2025 11:21

Creatine helps boost muscle growth, my PT recommended it but also a few people on MN did also. Collagen to help elasticity of skin and preserve muscle mass when losing weight quickly.

I am generally rubbish with water and I suffer from migraines so I took a real hit in that first couple of days. Creatine is supposed to potentially help migraines also.

Honestly its the best thing I've ever done. I am on day 10 and have lost just over 7lbs, I have not even thought about food other than thinking I'd better eat something as I havent been hungry all day. I really didnt believe it actually would work!

Springbaby2023 · 11/11/2025 11:30

@SexyFrenchDepression Ooh interesting, I started strength training six months ago and I’m really keen to not lose muscle mass so I’ll look into both of those. I’m genuinely excited to not have the food noise, I’m so sick of feeling guilty over what I’m eating and craving rubbish.

tobee · 11/11/2025 12:30

So just had my first food since injection. I had a granola and milk left over from a one off Jane Plan box I got earlier in the year. I definitely felt a bit of hunger before eating it. But previously have felt unsatisfied by the portion size. They are also quite sweet so probably not great for blood sugar levels but I wasn't sure what to try and knew that's a least portion controlled. Also granola isn’t high up on my usual breakfast choices. So I can’t tell about whether it was enjoyable iyswim.

I think it will be interesting to see when I want to eat my next meal.

No side effects yet. Just trying to observe how everything is going. Drinking water and trying to be sensible.

icanhazwillpower · 11/11/2025 12:46

Sounds like everyone’s doing pretty well so far and well done for braving the first injection! I did mine today as soon as it turned up 😆excited and nervous now but hopefully food noise and cravings go quickly as yesterday trying to be good by my own doing was a battle… belly is a bit sore but probably my jeans digging in more than the jab site.

tobee · 11/11/2025 12:49

Well done @icanhazwillpower! Injecting immediately probably a good way to go.

Yes I was surprised about the injection site. Absolutely no pain while injecting but definitely a bit sore afterwards. I had a look after a couple of hours and no sign of anything on my tummy where the needle went in.

Springbaby2023 · 11/11/2025 13:11

I’ve just done mine as well, it was surprisingly anti climatic
