I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

@SexyFrenchDepression Completely get your impatience, that’s what led me to go straight to 5mg from 2.5mg! But like you say logically it’s bound to happen at some point. I don’t think christmas and new year coming up help as it gives you almost a date to aim for to get to a certain weight which of course is all arbitrary in the grand scheme of things. Keep doing what you’re doing and I’m sure next week you’ll be rewarded with a loss. Do you weigh every day? I’ve found that helps as I’ve started to be able to tell what’s real weight loss/ weight gain and what’s natural fluctuations.

I am feeling much better today. I’ve really forced myself to eat and to be honest I’ll probably be on around 1800 calories today but I realised I’d been massively undereating these last couple of days. Had a side of pigs in blankets with a turkey sandwich at lunch to get in the festive mood, get protein in but also some extra energy. I’m playing netball tonight so was very conscious I need the energy and will still be in a deficit. Also had a day off work today getting sorted for Christmas so I think that’s mentally helped as now I feel much more organised so that if I do feel crap again for a few days, I don’t have to feel bad about taking it easy.

TaffyTabby · 16/12/2025 16:17

I totally get it, I’m the sort to become hyper focused on something and can get too excited / frustrated depending on what the scale is doing!

congrats on almost reaching bmi 25 though, that’s brilliant!

My friend started at the same time and she’s a good 4 + inch taller than me and has lost more, I’m average height. Trying not to get too competitive 😅

SexyFrenchDepression · 16/12/2025 16:19

@Springbaby2023 so glad you're feeling better. I had a rough day Sat (drinking friday without much eating so mega dehydrated) and it was so nice Sunday when I felt ok that I could get organised before going back to work Monday!!

Yes I think you're right about Christmas, as really I would have been happy to have hit the 1.5ish stone mark by end of the year but it feels like Christmas is the target.

I did start weighing every day but then struggled mentally with that as was obsessing over it. I maybe will start every other day again as that may help see more patterns. I am feeling a bit bloated today. Hoping the psyllium husk will start helping soon with that. It's only be a few days on that.

Its hard not to compare though isnt it. I am so happy with my progress so I need to remember that and just keep chipping away.

The good thing is that it isnt such a slog like without the jabs and your starving but have to use all the willpower you can muster to not give in. It actually feels easy from that respect, and it must be so good for your body eating cleanly etc.

TaffyTabby · 16/12/2025 16:58

Yes I agree, I was thinking today it almost feels easy at times. I went out for lunch with my kids, ordered something I’d usually eat the entire plate of (Turkish eggs) and probs help the kids with theirs too, but I just ate til I was comfortable and stopped. It’s so bloody alien and weird, but amazing.

And that’s day six on a 3mg dose. I hope I can stay on 3.75mg for ages because this level feels just about right.

tobee · 16/12/2025 17:23

Glad you are feeling better @Springbaby2023.

It's not really surprising we are all wanting it to work smoothly and quickly. It's a chunk of cash every month. It's a financial commitment that is not to be sniffed at for most people.

I feel ok still after my 5mg jab last night. I find it difficult to assess how well the satiety is going for me as I'm still doing fasting - omad of 500 calories a day 3 x a week which is quite ridiculous really, which I did for years. I think I need to work out a better way of eating on those days. I should be eating little and often every day.

Fifiellz · 17/12/2025 10:29

I haven’t weighed myself this week - I am trying to stop being so swayed by it. My weightloss drops a few pounds and then plateau for 10 days and then drops again but the downward trend is most def down so I’m happy. I have never stuck to a diet for 7 weeks on my own before so for that reason I am going to stick it out.

The 3.75 is wierd, the tiredness I was experiencing on 2.5 has gone and I feel a lot more energetic, the suppression isn’t that much different but I can really feel it after I eat. I think I ma experiencing mild heartburn but have never had gastric issues before so not sure. It’s just a feeling of hot, full tummy, a fullness right up my abdomen into almost my throat and just being uncomfortable after food.
Next week I am going back to 2.5 so I can somewhat enjoy xmas and I will see if the tiredness comes back and then make a call in the New Year wether to go back up to 3.75. Don’t think Im going near 5 anytime soon!

Fifiellz · 17/12/2025 10:30

I very much enjoyed packing away my much too big jeans this weekend and having a try on of all my smaller jeans that have been packed away for 3 years! That makes any uncomfy feeling worth it!! I was so happy!

OhCobblers · 17/12/2025 11:15

I could really do with some advice please! I have a golden dose left from my 2.5mg. I have the 5mg pen ready to go but it arrived last week - are they still ok to use after 28 days having been stored in the fridge?! I’ve lost 9lbs in 3 weeks but have yo yo’d the last few days and scales showing a 2lb gain but that’s probably the bread yesterday that I generally don’t eat?!
mild side effects but don’t want Xmas affected?!
what to do on Friday???!!!

TaffyTabby · 17/12/2025 12:01

I’d use the golden dose if I was you. Especially if it’s been in the fridge. It’s up to you to what you feel comfortable with of course.

I feel exactly the same way. I’m probably going back to 2.5mg from 3.75mg on Sunday for 1 week if not more. The thought of eating food this week has made me a little nauseous. I’ve not been tired or had the slight aching muscles I had on 2.5mg previously though. I have lost a couple of pounds already though, probably because I haven’t wanted to eat much.

I’d use the fifth dose too. Save changing doses for another week incase you get a few side effects. The pen is fine in the fridge until it’s use by date if it hasn’t been used.

tobee · 17/12/2025 13:11

My satiety and suppression on 5mg has been so much better this week already than my first dose of 5mg last week. I hope it lasts the full week. It's all quite unpredictable dose by dose.

The golden dose still only takes you up to the 30 days so absolutely fine within the official guidelines in or out of the fridge. The unopened pens last till the use by day in the fridge which is usually over a year.

I had the golden dose on 5th jab, it usually is closer to 3mg so a good in-between before going up.

PatheticDistraction · 17/12/2025 20:51

Well the suppression is definitely wearing off for me around 2 days before next jab is due - I've not been hungry today, but definitely wanting to snack & eat chocolate mindlessly as per my old self.

Slightly nervous of this weeks jab (3rd @ 5mg) but going to do it tomorrow night, as opposed to Friday AM, in the hope that I might sleep through some of the crappy symptoms. Also going to be much more mindful of what I eat & fingers crossed I don't feel as dreadful.

On another note I did my first progress photo today - no real difference to see, and my god it was a depressing reminder of how much I need to do! I'm always shocked by what I actually look like....makes me want to hide for the next 6 months

cobblers00 · 17/12/2025 21:05

Hi guys, what is this golden dose? I’m about to take 4th dose of first pen at the weekend.. is there an extra dose left in the pen then? Why?! How do we get at it?! Thanks!

Springbaby2023 · 17/12/2025 21:13

@TheP1per Thats exactly my plan, 2.5mg for next jab then potentially up to 3.75mg the week after. The side effects on my second dose of 5mg this week have been unreal, for me it’s not worth it.

Though saying that I did have a NSV today of fitting comfily into some jeans that were too tight even two weeks ago.

@cobblers00 some people order syringes to syringe out what is left in a pen, usually comes in at just more than 2.5mg I think. Saves any wastage. Not recommended by suppliers but loads do it without issue. Have a google and there are instructions on how to do it, or plenty of threads on here. I didn’t personally do it because I wanted to move up from 2.5mg anyway and cost wise I’m not feeling it too much at the moment, but I may in future when I’m a bit more confident with it all.

tobee · 17/12/2025 21:26

If my suppression levels work for the entire 7 days this dose would be 👌for me.

I did a progress photo as well today @PatheticDistraction. Like you no real progress to see. I had thought my face was looking thinner but the angle to take the photo should no improvement in my chin(s).

All I could say is thank god for the hide folder in my phone storage and that it can only be accessed by my face recognition. Would be absolutely mortifying if anyone (other than the good folks at pharmacy2u) saw me in that state 😳😁

SexyFrenchDepression · 17/12/2025 21:48

I actually dont think I've felt ay different on 3.75 than 2.5mg. I definitely can eat more by day 7 but really not that fussed, definitely no temptation to eat crap. I just enjoy what I eat more. Have eaten about 800 cals today and do feel a bit pekish, before the jabs probably would have got DH to go and get some biscuits or chocolate to snack on. I didnt plan very well today and was in the office and didnt have much to take in to eat.

Jab day tomorrow, 3rd 3.75mg, if no more side effects this week I will just push jab back till next friday then continue with 3.75mg rather than go up to 5.

I need to take a progress photo this week I think. Have now lost just over 20lb, I dont think I look that much better, just smaller, I really need to be upping my workout game. Have been awful as I think I have lost the motivation due to the weight falling off anyway. Really daft as I could have been looking significantly better in 6 weeks.

@tobee I have my photos in a secure folder also, I definitely dont want anyone seeing them!

Springbaby2023 · 17/12/2025 22:36

@SexyFrenchDepression do you know what your TDEE is? I find 800 calories crazy low and can’t imagine eating only that even in the jabs, but my TDEE is around 2,300 so not sure if that’s why? 20lb is incredible, well done you!!

I am definitely finding the same in 5mg in that even though it’s suppressing my appetite more initially, it’s wearing off as the weak goes on. It was my work Christmas lunch today though and I pushed past the point of fullness (fairly easily having skipped breakfast) and really felt terrible for it afterwards though. I definitely feel like I need to find a better balance in January, hoping it will be easier then with less meals out etc. Our Christmas lunch was at 3pm which just threw all timings out of whack and the options weren’t great.

Weirdly I keep getting cravings for pickled onion monster much and cups of tea, I can take or leave both of these usually but not on MJ. Zero sweet tooth though which felt good when all the sweet bits came out after the lunch.

SexyFrenchDepression · 17/12/2025 22:56

@Springbaby2023 to maintain its around 1500 so to lose 2lb is 977. I have been aiming for 1063 but usually under but generally not under 900 most days. I am currently 10st7.8 and 5ft 4 so quite short hence the low cals.

Macro wise I would preferably like to be 50% protein (133g) 20% carbs (53g) and 30% fat (35g). I was short by loads of protein today but still hit over 90g so not a bad amount, over on carbs 65g and under on fat. I need to shop better and have better snacks available really.

I had my favourite dinner, spag bol, tonight and loved having a bit of pasta and a slice of garlic bread! I have also discovered some very tasty choc/hazelnut 'yoghurts' with 18g of protein in, tastes like a proper treat!

Springbaby2023 · 17/12/2025 23:11

Ah that makes sense then, for me to lose 2lb it’s around 1500-1600 calories! I’m eating nowhere near enough protein but I’ve definitely increased it in the last five weeks so my goal is to just keep increasing that. Trying to tell myself I didn’t get into these bad habits overnight so I won’t break them overnight. I have got some of those high protein desert pots in but because I’m not fancying anything sweet it’s hard to make myself eat them, I’ve bought some higher protein shakes to try though for a quick protein breakfast.

Dont forget if you get the nutrition geeks collagen glow up that has 12g of protein in also so I always add that to shakes. So thats 50g of protein in 1 clear shake and a protein chocolate pot. I wasnt fancying sweet stuff at all but now the nausea has pretty much gone I am fine with it again.

RoundandSad · 18/12/2025 00:00

@SexyFrenchDepression what are the clear shakes taste like?

I'm guessing people are eating them because they're struggling to eat normal food so I'm just curious, really

I don't think I've lost anything this week, but it is my time of the month which complicates things

I've joined the thread for slow losers, so you may not see me here much now

SexyFrenchDepression · 18/12/2025 00:11

@RoundandSad I really like them, they are not powdery at all but are quite sweet, they do bitter lemon and some other not quite as sweetcones though, MyProtein has absolutely loads of flavours, I really like a lot of them, I bought the variety taster pack to start with, currently I have tubs of watermelon, mojito and black cherry.

I have had protein shakes for breakfast for years as I struggle to eat in the mornings anyway but always bought the ready made milk ones, they have just got really expensive lately so I needed to buy the ones you make up and dont like the milk ones so much as they can be a bit gritty.
