I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

All of these side effects are putting the fear of God into me. Especially a week before Christmas.

I would just wait until after Christmas to be honest! It won’t make much difference in the grand scheme of things.

PatheticDistraction · 14/12/2025 20:02

After a rough night of digestive issues - I finally feel better this afternoon, my appetite is nowhere to be seen, but I managed some steak & greens which I really enjoyed.

It's such a learning curve & having experienced next to no symptoms for the first 6 weeks I think I got complacent. I'm going to be much more careful with my choices from now on & also think more abot timing my jabs

How long do the pens keep in the fridge?

How long do the pens keep in the fridge?

If they’ve not been used they can be stored until the expiry date on the side (usually over a year away)

Springbaby2023 · 14/12/2025 22:25

Took my second 5mg jab at lunch today and I felt nauseous this afternoon and evening, heartburn has started now too. I am definitely going to drop it down next week for Christmas, I just don’t want to feel rubbish over that week.

@PatheticDistraction I think I need to pay more attention to my diet now too, I’ve been broadly just eating what I was before with smaller portions and more protein but I think I need to focus more now on eating better. The plan was always to do that after January anyway, was just trying to ride it out until then.

JustBeach · 15/12/2025 07:20

I’ve had no side effects since starting 6 weeks ago, but then this week have felt really nauseous and been struggling to eat ! I’m due to go up to 5 today, but will do 3.75 and see how that sits!
last night I had my biggest meal yet and a small dessert and I really struggled to sleep all night.
6 weeks ago tomorrow I started and I’m down just over a stone. It’s been easy really and I’m so pleased I ordered it on a whim! My new problem is hardly any of my clothes fit 😫! It was hard to find something nice to wear to go out last night. I’m trying to hold off to buy anything new until the last stone is off. Not too bad a problem to have!

Springbaby2023 · 15/12/2025 07:39

This 5mg is kicking my butt… I actually threw up this morning! And have a banging headache. Not helped by a bad night of sleep but definitely mostly caused by yesterday’s jab I think. On the plus side I’m down 2lb so that’s 11lb in total in five weeks which I’m really pleased with. I’m hoping this is just my body learning to cope with the higher dose and that it will settle down in time, I had no side effects at all on 2.5mg so wasn’t expecting this.

TaffyTabby · 15/12/2025 09:56

I think I’m going to take 3.75mg on Wednesday and not take my next jab til Boxing Day so I should hopefully feel more or less normal for Xmas day.

I’m sorry you’re feeling so rough @Springbaby2023 . I hate vomiting !!

Sorry to hear this! I have had 2 x 3.75mg jabs so far. Weirdly I am not feeling as strong effects as with the 2.5 but I assume I am just getting used to it. I will stick to 3.75 for another few weeks as I am managing to eat healthily and haven't been tempted by crap, I definitely feel hungry at times but am not fussed by eating. It has improved my mental health massively. I havent lost less than 2lb in a week yet also so I think this dose will be fine for now. I have lost nearly 19lb in 6 weeks.

I am worried about hair loss as read so much about it recently, the info says its 1 in 10 people and only temporary, I have been taking collagen and actually have new hair growing (i assume I was losing it before due to hormones) but most people have said its the 3 month mark they lose a lot and my weightloss has been quick.

Springbaby2023 · 15/12/2025 14:20

Thanks @TaffyTabby @SexyFrenchDepression. That sounds a good plan for Christmas @TaffyTabby - I’m definitely dropping down. Going to do 2.5mg for next week, then I’ll have enough in the pen for two 3.75mg doses and I’ll see how I get on with that instead of 5mg. I feel absolutely crippled with exhaustion today, no amount of caffeine is doing anything. Meant to have an exercise class tonight but can’t see me managing it, which to me shows I’m on top high a dose currently as the last thing I want is to stop exercising.

@SexyFrenchDepression Fingers crossed the collagen will help. I have heard it’s connected to how quickly you lose the weight rather than the MJ as a drug itself.

SexyFrenchDepression · 15/12/2025 14:27

@Springbaby2023 yes thats what I read too, other than the first week which was nearly 6lb I have lost 2-3lb a week so not excessive I don't think. Hopefully will be ok.

tobee · 15/12/2025 14:37

Due my second jab of 5mg tonight. I've been a bit hungry the last couple of days. But have lost another 2 lbs last week. Haven't had any different side effects on 5mg compared to 2.5mg; but not being complacent. See what tonight brings.

indiedancer · 15/12/2025 15:03

I came across the Glapp tracker in another thread and thought I'd mention it in case it helps anyone else.
I've found tracking a few bits quite reassuring - especially seeing my progress alongside people who started at a similar weight and also the trial averages. It often feels like nothing's happening but it stops me spiralling and assuming it's all going wrong.

indiedancer · 15/12/2025 15:08

This is what mine look like at the moment.

I am feeling very miserable this evening, can’t believe how bad 5mg is making me feel when I had pretty much zero side effects on 2.5! I had to go to bed when DH got in and I’m back there now, just feeling really weak and tired. Not helped by feeling too sick to eat much. Really hoping an early night will help as I was also super snappy with the kids because of I felt so rubbish.

I really hope the symptoms calm down for you soon.

Fifiellz · 15/12/2025 22:15

@Springbaby2023Hope you feel better. I can relate, I realised this morning that I only clicked 15 extra times last week instead of 30 on my 2.5mg pen so didn’t get a 3.75 mg dose after all. Anyway so today I did my usual 2.5mg and then another 30 to make it 3.75. I feel like crap!!! I’ve got indigestion, feel bloated absolutely can’t eat anything the thought of food making me feel nauseous - just utterly bleurgh!! My stomach feels hot and churny. Im so happy I didn’t go up to 5!!! I’m going back to 2.5 from next week - all the weight loss none of the side effects!

Sorry you have been really suffering, it does sound miserable for you. I hope you are over the peak and symptoms and sickness calm down after a rest. I find its so hard to predict how each dose will land with the gradual accumulation of it in the body and deciding whether or not to increase or not at the end of a pen, best day to have the jab etc.

I had a week of being absolutely drained a couple of weeks ago on the 2.5. I don't know if it was the electrolyte drink, trying to graze little and often, sleep or hydration or a combo that helped get out of it.

Its also just exhausting trying to work out what to eat all the time to make sure its balanced and has enough protein. Perhaps that's just me as im such a fussy eater at the best of times!

Well done to everyone persevering and grateful to all for sharing their experiences. Its definitely a learning curve!

I'm also worried about potential hair loss as my hair is fine already. It doesn't seem clear as to what constitutes fast weight loss either. Do you think the collagen is helping? And do you recommend any in particular if so?

Springbaby2023 · 15/12/2025 22:28

@Fifiellz Exactly that! I was definitely being too impatient as I was losing weight on 2.5mg but slower than I wanted… but now I think I’d take a slower weight loss for less side effects! Hope you feel better soon.

@NattyGoldNewt I’m a bit of a fussy eater too so that’s definitely not helping, I’ve got a protein shake in the fridge now ready for the morning and actually got the day off work to get Christmas admin done so planning on also going to stock up on some high protein snacks. I think one of my problems is we’ve not got much food in the house this week because awaiting our big Christmas food delivery at the weekend, but that’s meant less to choose from which has made it harder to force myself to eat.

I’m actually feeling much better now after a couple of hours sleep, just going my body will let me fall back asleep again after such an early night.

SexyFrenchDepression · 15/12/2025 22:29

@NattyGoldNewt I am using the Nutrition Geeks Collagen glow up, I am sure it is helping my skin and hair, I think i was starting to lose a bit round the sides before the jabs and I can see new hair growing already and there has been less loss than normal (I have quite thick curly hair). Its tasteless so I put it in protein shakes or coffee. I also take the biotin growth and b12 supplements from Nutrition Geeks.

I couldnt find out what they consider fast loss also. When my son was about 4 months old I went to weight watchers and lost over 30lb in 16 weeks so around 2lb a week and that was considered normal and I definitely had no hair loss then.

NattyGoldNewt · 15/12/2025 22:36

@Springbaby2023 very glad you're starting to feel a little better and hopefully having some time tomorrow at home allows to recover more. The protein shakes really help to get something nutritious in at least when food is too much to bear.

@SexyFrenchDepression thanks for that, will check it out. Fingers crossed none of us succumb to the hair loss!

@Fifiellz really hope you feel better soon too.

SexyFrenchDepression · 16/12/2025 15:42

So I had my first disappointing weigh in today, I am a bit obsessed with my graphs etc and have been losing over 2lb a week, I have midweek weigh ins on a tues, and main weekly on a Saturday. Only lost 0.55lb from Sat to Tues this week which is the lowest by a fair bit. I am on 2nd week of 3.75 so was hoping I could keep 2lb a week up for next 2 weeks before Christmas.

I know I shouldn't be disappointed but I have still been good with calories and protein. My fibre needs a huge amount of work but I am taking psyllium husk tablets now. A plateau was bound to come sooner or later, hopefully I can get another half lb off by Saturday but even though I thought I had prepared myself for less losses I can't help feeling disappointed.

TMI but I am not going to the toilet very often so I think that potentially has a big impact on my weight on specific days. I need to chill 😂 i am so impatient 😂

Realistically I dont want to up to 5mg till after Christmas as side effects at the moment are so minimal I dont want to tempt fate.

TaffyTabby · 16/12/2025 15:49

You already know this but it is bound to slow down every now and then! Trying to look on the bright side, I find it slows down and then drops suddenly.
You have relatively less to lose (iirc) so every little bit will be showing I’m sure!

Thank you, its so daft as I know it but it still was annoying. Hopefully I can even lose a small amount in the next week or so even if I put back on over Christmas. I know it will be significantly better than previous years.

Yes I am now at 25.6 BMI from 28 so getting close to healthy BMI. Still have around 1-1.5stone to go as I am a small frame so BMI 25 is a lot for me, it shows a lot as I'm short so I look chunky till I'm about a stone less than now.

I need to concentrate on the stuff away from scales, like looser clothes etc!

Its strange as it feels like I've lost the first half of the weight quickly but when I think about the 2nd half it feels like its a long way off.
