I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

@RoundandSad sorry if it’s a stupid question , but are you drinking enough water and eating enough calories? I had an awful headache one day and I realised I hadn’t eaten all day and only a small tea the night before. I’m trying hard to eat little and often now!

I'm eating a lot more than most posters here seem to be on this medication

I can't imagine not eating all day there's just no way that would happen

I also have one of those marked water bottles so I know I've had 2 L every day, but I naturally go over wanting that anyway.

I'm thinking about going back down to 2.5 mg for my dose on Friday but I have had better appetite suppression on 3.75 so not sure what to do

It will be interesting to see if I still have a headache tomorrow. I don't even know how long I can go on taking ibuprofen. I haven't had to take it for days in a row, unless I've got a bug or summat until I took this medication and now suddenly I'm needing ibuprofen every day. I should start logging that too. I'm logging side-effect.

TaffyTabby · 10/12/2025 18:55

Yes re headache, I read for some people MJ also reduces your thirst (not in me) and you drink less.

also, I found having some dioralyte helped. I think any electrolytes or even salty broth would help if it’s even a little bit down to dehydration.

RoundandSad · 10/12/2025 19:00

@TaffyTabby we crossed posted so you might not have seen it but I'm drinking the same water as usual, which is a lot

Basically, this stuff gives me a headache. I hope it gives goes away.

I have been having an electrolyte drink but the last few days it really hasn't helped with the headache

Last night, I was so tired I couldn't even sit and watch TV at 8pm that is ridiculous.

I think I'll aim to come off it as I'm committed to 3 months, but I'm not taking the whole dose, so I probably won't go up to 5 mg and then I will use it to it runs out. That will be a kickstart for me and I think that's probably enough. I'm due to take my sixth dose on Friday.

TaffyTabby · 10/12/2025 19:08

Ah yes we cross posted. Sounds you’ve done everything you can and you’ve been unlucky with side effects, I’m sorry that’s pants!

Springbaby2023 · 10/12/2025 21:42

@RoundandSad @TaffyTabby I highly recommend electrolytes. Honestly if I’ve learned nothing else from being on MJ then it will still be worth it for that. I used to drink LOADS of water and would still suffer headaches, especially after exercise. Electrolytes in my water of an evening has haloed so much.

The tiredness is crazy @RoundandSad isnt it. I have a two year old who doesn’t usually sleep well so I’m used to feeling sleep deprived, but the tiredness I’ve felt today has been on another level.

tobee · 10/12/2025 23:01

I've felt like I could just doze off to sleep at any time today. Not fatigued or listless. Just sleepy.

SexyFrenchDepression · 10/12/2025 23:58

I had extreme tiredness Monday and Tuesday, feel normal today but its day 7. Its been a strange week, upped my dose but then got my period the next day, each month they seem to get worse over the last year so not sure what is causing the symptoms as I feel sick and dizzy on my period anyway.

I am hoping I will feel better this week!

RoundandSad · 11/12/2025 00:55

@Springbaby2023 yes I said in my post I was taking electrolytes it isn't helping I'm afraid
I don't get headaches this is new so it's definitely this. That's causing it.

The tiredness is more like fatigue, I suppose. Both things seem pretty common and all the pharmacies selling them have written articles about it

On 2.5 I had three days of headache I would say

Now I've gone up to 3.75 (that was on Friday ) today has been day 5 of headache ...so I have to consider going back down

I think I'll give it another week at 3.75 but I definitely don't want this for Christmas week so maybe back down to 2.5 for then

diggitydoo · 11/12/2025 05:57

So today will either be my first golden dose or my first jab from new 5 mg pen, depending on whether I manage to get the golden dose out.

I have lost 10 lbs in those 4 weeks. Which I think is pretty good. Was maybe expecting a bit more as I have a lot to lose ( over 10 stone) But it’s realistically about right, 2.5 lbs a week. Been logging calories and macros and I’ve averaged 1,450–1,650 kcal per day. Typical macro pattern has been high-protein (90–110 g/day, ~25–30%), moderate carbs (140–180 g/day, ~40–45%), and moderate healthy fats (50–65 g/day, ~30–35%), it’s not been easy but it has been possible. Which is good.

can’t quite believe I’m doing this. Feel a lot of grief and confusion about it. And hate being obsessed about food and weight. But I have to continue for my health and Mobilty’s sake

just read the book ultra processed people too, which makes me so angry about what the food and medical industry has done to me /us. So sad .

JustBeach · 11/12/2025 06:31

@diggitydoo I started to read that book a year or so ago, and had to stop due to the amount of UPFs I was eating! This has drastically reduced since starting MJ, I’ve just lost any desire for it. It’s not just the weight loss, but there has to be some improvements to my health from what I’m eating. I know I’m sleeping better, have more energy and my moods are more even.
@RoundandSadsorry you are feeling rubbish. Maybe 2.5 will be enough for you to have a balance between weight loss and symptoms

Burnnoticed · 11/12/2025 07:05

@diggitydoo do you know how to get the dose out? I've done it before

TaffyTabby · 11/12/2025 09:05

Yay weighed in at 14 st 10.6 this morning, which is 5lb less than last week.
Really pleased with how it’s going at the moment. Hope it continues. My happy scale app says I could be out of obese BMI in 12 weeks, which would be amazing and first time in 15 years +

user593 · 11/12/2025 13:31

Congratulations @TaffyTabby, that’s a great loss! 🥳

RoundandSad · 11/12/2025 17:38

I have a feeling my weight is going to have stayed static when I weigh in tomorrow

I'm feeling better today. So it looks like the first three days on 2.5 are problem. And unfortunately it was six days on 3.75. Not like totally horrendous I suppose but being exhausted on day four was it? I haven't got access to my Notes. Yesterday I was kind of pushing through it today I think I'm okay.

Tomorrow, I have to inject again. Not quite sure what dose to go for maybe I should try 3 mg as it's in between

Benefit today I only wanted half my lunch. We'll see if I'm ravenous at dinner.

Springbaby2023 · 11/12/2025 20:46

@TaffyTabby well done that’s a great loss! That app sounds good, going to take a look.

@RoundandSad don’t be too disheartened if it stays the same. Mine did on my official weigh in day this week but then for the next two days it was 2lb lower! I’m with you on the tiredness though, it’s really kicking my butt after 5mg compared to 2.5. Although I’m having a tough time at work as well so it’s so hard to tell what is MJ and what is normal life.

PatheticDistraction · 11/12/2025 22:08

Congratulations @TaffyTabby- a great loss!

I'm feeling very demoralised, I feel I am slipping back in to old habits, my BIL brought round a box of chocolates which I happily ploughed into. I also went out for lunch & didn't hold back.

I'm just worried the suppression isn't happening any more.

Next injection tomorrow - so hopefully it kicks in over the weekend.

HotTagine · 12/12/2025 10:17

Hi everyone, I took my last dose of the 2.5mg pen yesterday and feel hungrier than I have on this so far, the food noise is coming back too. I was hoping I’d be one of the people who would be able to stay on the lower dose long term.

I am due on next week and usually am hungrier the week before so I hope it’s that as I don’t want to have to keep going up the doses.

I have lost 8lbs so far in three weeks, which I’m happy with as I usually lose much slower when I’ve dieted without mounjaro.

I have ordered the 5mg pen for next week so will probably go up, just scared of the side effects.

OhCobblers · 12/12/2025 10:35

well yesterday was my worst day for side effects. It was actually the day before my 4th jab (2.5mg) and I felt very jittery and constantly nauseous plus had a headache most of the day. Then I had my work Xmas dinner but just ate 2 courses so no bread, dessert etc and not excessive with the wine!
Last week for 2.5mg before going up to 5mg which to be honest I’m slightly dreading.
I’ve lost 9lbs in 3 weeks which I’m very pleased with though!
debating whether to do as others have done and jab 3.75mg rather than the full 5mg?!

sorry i am jumping in and havent read the full thread.
I just started and have a low grade headache, i am drinking plenty of water and using ORS too for hydration.
I wonder if its because the jab is interacting with hormones, and so the headache is more hormonal?

JustBeach · 12/12/2025 15:01

I took the extra dose in my 2.5 pen by forcing it round last week. I did also take it a day early. 2.5 had been wearing off during week 4, but this week I’ve had really strong suppression like during week 1! I’ve been struggling to eat and my weight has started dropping again after not losing for a week. I’ve got my 5mg pen ready to start on Monday but I’m scared to increase now! I think I had a bit more than 2.5, as there was some coming out after and then the day early. I’m considering staying on 2.5. I’ve only got another stone to go and am just back in a healthy weight - so I don’t feel I need a big rush and make myself ill. Christmas complicates, because I don’t want to feel poorly when we have visitors!

RoundandSad · 12/12/2025 16:48

I took my jab about 2 o'clock

Decided to stick with 3.75 and feel absolutely drained already, I did as much work as I could before taking it. I'm working at home but I knew it was gonna be a bit rubbish because it always is

Maybe I will never make it up to 5. I was originally planning to do that on Boxing Day because it's a quiet week but maybe this is as high as I go.

Weighed in showing no loss this week but and due on so that could be why I do get some bloating

Fifiellz · 12/12/2025 16:59

@RoundandSad I don’t think I will make it to 5mg either. I tried 3.75 this week and the fatigue is off the scale! I am so tired - I have lost 3lbs this week but the trade off isn’t worth it for me. I wanted to start increasing my exercise really but at this rate I can barely walk up the stairs, I’m going to chill this weekend and drop back to 2.5 on Monday to see if I start getting some energy back

tobee · 12/12/2025 17:39

Hi just jumping on to say that I've not found my first of 5mg problematic at all; no side effects so far.

I think there is a lot of talk around 5mg as of it's some massive leap of faith to take it and to be avoided. But when I've looked at personal experience on Mumsnet and elsewhere it's mostly fine for people; a non event.

Just like going from 0g to 2.5g some will have problems some won't.

Hopefully people will be fine and not worry unduly.

RoundandSad · 12/12/2025 17:45

@Fifiellz this is my second week of 3.75

Fatigue and heacheswas a problem on 2.5! I thought I'd cracked it in the final week of 2.5 though I would have to check my notes

I'll see how it goes, but I'm not prepared to keep going with the headaches and the fatigue so might as well use up what I've got at a lower rate, I mean there's no point going up to 5 if we feel dreadful

RoundandSad · 12/12/2025 17:47

Well dreadful is exaggerating but I'm not normally someone who feels under the weather so I don't think it's right to keep taking something that makes me feel rubbish

I'll take what I paid for and then finish - unless there's a big improvement at some point which I'm really hoping for to be honest
