I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

@tobee let me know how you get on with 5mg since we started the same day!

I feel like the suppression has kicked in much quicker with this dose, only took it at lunch but really not felt hungry this evening at all. Although that might have also been because I’d had a big lunch.

tobee · 08/12/2025 23:37

Interesting @Springbaby2023.

I just took my dose about 15 minutes ago so too early for me to say. Bit late tonight!

user593 · 09/12/2025 08:41

I still have a fever so haven’t taken the dose I was due on Sunday but I’ve lost 2.2lbs since Sunday as I still have very little appetite. That’s just over 21lbs since I started 16 days ago. I’m genuinely shocked it’s working this well.

Fifiellz · 09/12/2025 09:38

I went up to 3.75mg yesterday, felt really fuzzy headed all day yesterday and a bit out of it, by the time I got to dinner I was feeling sick at the thought of eating but did manage to. Today I feel quite queasy and def feeling suppression again! Glad I didn’t go straight up to 5mg now

tobee · 09/12/2025 16:41

So after my first 5mg last I feel.....drum roll...very little different so far. Had my usual breakfast. Greek yogurt, high protein muesli, berries and nuts, chia seeds. Haven't had lunch yet though my breakfast was more at brunch time.

I was definitely hungry. Not sure now how I feel. No massive change from 2.5. I want to be feeling full quicker not suppressed please! 😀

tobee · 09/12/2025 16:42

How about you @Springbaby2023 ?

RoundandSad · 09/12/2025 17:45

I think there's been a slight difference from 2.5 to 3.75

I feel a bit less hungry today from a Friday injection. In previous weeks, I would say had worn off by Tuesday.

I also had the RLS problem come back last night though so not quite sure what to do about that

I guess I'll stick with 3.75, depends if I have RLS tonight. If I do then I'll probably go back down to 2.5.

As to say very hard to plan on this medication and always a fear of side-effects, I suppose

PatheticDistraction · 09/12/2025 21:20

Interesting reading people's experiences going up a dose - moving from 2.5mg to 5mg - and I either don't feel any different hungrier! I have the same old feeling of needing something sweet post meal to feel satisfied.

Trying to trust the process, but feeling a bit miffed!

TaffyTabby · 09/12/2025 21:26

@PatheticDistraction sorry can’t remember if you’ve said - has it been like that the whole time for you or was it better when you started?

I’ve had four doses now and it definitely has lost its effect, and I’m hopeful next dose up will help! I can understand feeling miffed. How many days since you went up?

PatheticDistraction · 09/12/2025 21:30

It was definitely working better when I started & it's really only since moving up a dose I'm feeling hungrier I think, although it's still better than before I started the jabs, so that's something!

tobee · 09/12/2025 16:42

How about you @Springbaby2023 ?

It’s hard to tell because we had a work Christmas lunch today, so I had a bigger lunch than usual. It definitely filled me up and I didn’t fancy tea but then that’s also because I have been feeling super tired today (not sure if it’s a side effect or just general tiredness). Will be interesting to see how I get on tomorrow with a more normal day.

The good thing is I’ve not noticed any worse side effects from going up.

Burnnoticed · 10/12/2025 07:01

Is anyone else fed up with their scales? I can stand on and off again mine and watch my weight go up and down by over a pound! They are fairly new and digital so I'd have thought I could get an accurate reading.

BelleEpoque27 · 10/12/2025 07:37

Yes! I can weigh three pounds more or less in different areas of the bathroom. I'm ignoring the higher weight as it's only that in one bit where the floorboards feel a bit creaky.

I keep meaning to take the scales downstairs and see what they say in other rooms with no carpet 😂

JustBeach · 10/12/2025 08:23

I always weigh downstairs on the hard floor! Although they have jumped a bit at times! As long as they’re going down that’s the main thing.
I took an extra week of 2.5mg because I managed to force the pen and turn the dial to 1. I seem to have better suppression this week, so I wonder if I’ve taken a little extra? I left it in for about 10 seconds and there was still a little leaking out the top? Not sure but it wouldn’t be much extra. I’ve also had a cold, so that could be making a difference. I’m thinking to go for 3.75 next week. Has everyone else who’s ahead of me gone for 3.75 or 5? And how have you found it? I’m worried about being ill over Xmas, but I didn’t have any symptoms on 2.5 so hopefully just overthinking !

SexyFrenchDepression · 10/12/2025 08:41

I always put my scales on the same tile in the bathroom so I think this helps them stay fairly accurate.

It builds up in your system so you would have more in your system than in earlier weeks. Apps like Shotsy give you an idea of your levels each week, its quite interesting to monitor it.

Oh sorry also I went up to 3.75mg Thursday, I had a few side effects similar to early on when I started 2.5 but I also got my period the day after the jab so I dont think that helped. I dont actually feel much different to 2.5mg, its hard to tell whether its more effective as I know some people have said on week 5/6 of 2.5mg they have lwss appetite suppression and wish they had gone up.

If you put the dial to 1 then you would have only got the normal dose, if you use a syringe you can usually get over 3mg out of the pen as you can get all the medication out.

user593 · 10/12/2025 10:22

I’ve just taken my third dose of 2.5mg, 3 days late. I think I’m going to order another 2.5mg pen as it seems to be working, but I’ll see how I go. Still unwell but fever has settled and ate more than I should have yesterday so really felt I needed to dose up.

TaffyTabby · 10/12/2025 11:10

Sorry you’re still feeling unwell @user593

I’ve taken my fifth shot today. I managed to draw up 0.72mL using the syringe, which is a 3mg dose so will be interesting to see how I react to it. I also got Shotsy premium so can see I’ll be peak dose tomorrow at lunchtime so hoping I don’t feel too rough at work!

Springbaby2023 · 10/12/2025 13:35

@JustBeach Did 5mg for the first time on Friday and so far I’m having similar side effects to when I first started on 2.5mg, very tired and aching muscles, and for the first 24 hours I had heartburn but that seems to have passed. I don’t mind this time though as hopefully if it’s like 2.5 then it will all soon pass and it’s all manageable (although the tiredness is really bad today). I can’t tell whether I’m experiencing more suppression or not. To start with I felt like I was, but today I feel like I’m almost eating normally - I had a pastry for the first time in over four weeks for breakfast! I think I won’t really be able to tell the difference until I’ve done a week or so of it.

tobee · 10/12/2025 15:49

My scales are always, for years, jumping around, couple of pounds up and down in one weigh in session. Except when they have given me too high a number and I hoped it's been a glitch and it's resolutely not budged down!

I went up to 5mg on Monday and no issues so far. No outrageous suppression or terrible side effects.

My latest dilemma is I've realised my next pen is due for re order just after Christmas which could be awkward. I will probably stick with pharmacy2u because trying to change supplier around Christmas/new year seems like asking for trouble.

Anyone else got this dilemma? I think I might message them.

TaffyTabby · 10/12/2025 16:17

@tobee my last order was with them. I got an email saying final orders before Christmas need consultation completed by 4pm on Friday 19th. I don’t need a new pen til after new year though so will probably change providers.

RoundandSad · 10/12/2025 17:57

So..... having a headache at at least half the time seems to be a feature with this medication for me - not fun.

JustBeach · 10/12/2025 18:28

@RoundandSad sorry if it’s a stupid question , but are you drinking enough water and eating enough calories? I had an awful headache one day and I realised I hadn’t eaten all day and only a small tea the night before. I’m trying hard to eat little and often now!

tobee · 10/12/2025 18:51
