I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

@tobeethis is exactly me. On my second jab and I don’t feel the same as week 1. I could definitely overeat, have cravings and a bigger appetite. I was feeling a little down about it. Is this normal then and are we likely to be back to normal for week 3?

Wethers121 · 23/11/2025 22:28

@Springbaby2023when you’ve switched supplier, did you just have to prove you had a previous prescription from elsewhere or did you have to be on through the whole process again with a video and pictures again? I’d happily switch suppliers but hated the verification process and don’t want to do it again if can avoid it.

Springbaby2023 · 23/11/2025 22:31

@Wethers121 whole thing again! Although I’ve not actually done the video yet, everything else done. I don’t mind as it’s saving me £100 compared to staying with previous supplier.

Wethers121 · 24/11/2025 06:04

@IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubblethankfulky had a great weekend and the side effects to have subsided for now. Phew!

user593 · 24/11/2025 09:26

First post, took my first injection yesterday. I have a lot to lose so should be lurking here a while!

JustBeach · 24/11/2025 09:56

@user593welcome! I hope you have a smooth week with little side effects. I think it’s easy to get swept up in the worst cases of side effects and worry about them happening, I know I did! For what it’s worth I’ve not had any side effects and it’s working as I hoped! I know 5 people of it in my personal life, and all have had the same experience as me.

I did a sneaky weigh in this morning and am down another 3 lb with 2 more days until weigh in. I’m making a conscious effort to eat more this week and have got myself some protein shakes. I think because I’ve cut out most UPFs and sugar, I’m eating really healthily but the calories are too low. I’ve also started counting calories strictly to make sure I’m hitting a minimum. It’s so strange, I feel so well and healthy, but am clearly under eating. I’m going to track calories for a 2lb loss a week.
regarding mood- I’ve suffered with anxiety and depression as long as I can remember stemming from some really rubbish things that happened when I was young. Medication and therapy has never really helped much and I had sort of accepted that this is who I am, and just made the best of it . For the last 2 weeks since starting my mind feels clear and I feel much happier. I don’t know why! Maybe it’s the lack of junk food and sugar, or just the excitement of finally feeling like I can lose the weight? I don’t know, but I would take this medication if improved mood was the only result ! I just hope it continues! I know for sure if it made my mental health worse I would have to stop, if not for my sake then for my families.

WorkWorry0 · 24/11/2025 10:25

I did my first injection on Friday - I have 8.5 stones to lose.
So ashamed that I let myself get so enormous.
It’s very early days, obviously, but so far no side-effects and near-total appetite suppression.

Woodenwonder · 24/11/2025 11:12

I had my first injection last night! Had to get my husband to do it as I'm just too soft to inject myself, I didn't look and barely felt it so I'm trusting he did it right as I don't think there's much you can do to mess it up by the sounds of it.

Don't feel any different yet. I probably realistically have about 6 stones to lose all in but I'd prefer not to lose that much as I'm 54 and I don't want to get wrinkly. I'd be happy going from a 16/18 to a healthier small 14 so I reckon that would probably be around the 11/12 stone mark at this age.

diggitydoo · 24/11/2025 11:31

I've had an interesting few days food/ appetite wise. Had my second jab n Thursday and on Thursday and Friday I was ravenous! felt hungry all day and it was an unhappy effort to stay within calories. Was feeling pretty fed up, memories of horrible diets past. Saturday and Sunday had family staying, so a posh meal out Saturday night, lots of wine and treats about and a visit to christmas market (with amazing food stalls ). But I actually didn't feel hungry and didn't fancy the bread in the restaurant, just had mussels and sorbet ( gave the fries to my son) and on Sunday at the market could only manage a mug of soup while everyone else had all kinds of extravagant treats. Was so weird.

Springbaby2023 · 24/11/2025 11:45

So after three days of eating near enough normal at end of week following second dose I’ve decided to step up and go for 5mg for the next order. I wanted to stick to 2.5mg as didn’t want to impact on Christmas but realistically there is little point paying if I’m going to eat normally three days of the week - I could do that on any diet. I may order the extra syringes to just increase to 3.75mg but need to see how to do that properly.

Springbaby2023 · 24/11/2025 11:48

@putthehamsterbackinitscage how have you got on with going up to 5mg?

Fifiellz · 24/11/2025 12:05

I’ve just taken my 4th dose, not sure about trying to get the golden dose, feels a bit complicated. Im
going to stay on 2.5mg for my next pen - I’m struggling to eat as it is and I’ve had no side effects really so happy to stay where I am for now.

user593 · 24/11/2025 12:10

@JustBeach Thank you! My partner has been on Wegovy the last three months, not very disciplined and suffered some pretty horrendous side effects (but still lost a lot of weight!) so I’ve learnt not to follow his lead 😅

NoNewClothes · 24/11/2025 13:01

@diggitydoo (& others) snap! 2nd dose on Thursday & I ended up eating 3 large pieces of shortbread in the evening, couldn’t help myself.

Definitely less suppression than week 1. Here was me thinking i’ll manage on 2.5, though to be fair I was just in to the obese category, but really really struggling to stabilize let alone lose.

Woodenwonder · 24/11/2025 13:42

I'm mainly taking this to stabilise my blood sugar and considering the weight loss a happy side effect, if it happens. Is anyone else or is it more about weight loss?

tobee · 24/11/2025 14:27

I'm trying to avoid becoming pre diabetic as my HbA1c in 2020 flicked over to that. Diabetes runs in my family.

I was told to lose weight then to bring the number down and succeeded only to be back to just being under pre diabetic in 2025.

I just did my end of week weigh in before jab 3 this evening. I'm 1 and half pounds down which I'll take as I thought I might not lose at all as have felt fewer effects this week.

That's 5.5 pounds in 2 weeks; not a ginormous loss but ok.

Springbaby2023 · 24/11/2025 14:30

@NoNewClothes That was exactly me, was convinced I’d stay on 2.5mg for another month. I’m going to try 3.75mg over December instead.

tobee · 24/11/2025 14:32

NSV can do my watch strap up one notch looser !! 😆

tobee · 24/11/2025 14:34

Or is it tighter? 🤔

JustBeach · 24/11/2025 14:58

@tobeegreat news! Love a NSV!!
Im on week 2 and have better suppression this week. I’m due to jab tomorrow, and this time last week I felt like it had worn off. If I carry on like this I’ll stay on the 2.5 because it’s working just as I want it too and no side effects. Just considering whether to half dose the 5mg one to save some money..

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 24/11/2025 14:59

@Springbaby2023so far so good …. I did 3.3 mg for jab 5 as a golden dose and have taken the 1st 5mg dose with no issues. I’m hoping that as this is quite a step up, I will get more suppression as I have found I am increasingly able to eat / drink what ever is in front of me, including alcohol although I am still not really snacking.

i realised today, no chocolates or chocolate bars have passed my lips since I started! That’s a massive change as I could easily go through large bars of galaxy or dairy milk in one sitting along with a bottle of wine to wash it down.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 24/11/2025 15:00

@tobeethats a great nsv and a good loss as well.

well done!

NoNewClothes · 24/11/2025 15:01

If it’s ok to ask, those of you who’ve moved suppliers for pen 2 - who did you go with?

Woodenwonder · 24/11/2025 16:00

Can confirm that nearly 24 hours after first dose, my first side effect has arrived and it's a squirty bum 🙈 how long does this last please

user593 · 24/11/2025 16:07

@Woodenwonder No advice but I’m also nearly 24 hrs in so we must have started at the same time! I’ve only got indigestion so far but I’ve not eaten much.
