I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

@Woodenwonder No advice but I’m also nearly 24 hrs in so we must have started at the same time! I’ve only got indigestion so far but I’ve not eaten much.

Eek that's good to know that we've started at the same time so there's something to compare to in real time. I've eaten normally today and I'm not overly hungry but this reaction seems to have come within an hour of eating lunch so interesting to see how food tonight goes.

Springbaby2023 · 24/11/2025 17:14

@NoNewClothes I’ve got with IQ doctor, was with Bolt for my first.

@putthehamsterbackinitscage That’s how I felt this weekend - no resistance for snacks or wine! Interesting you say that though, I don’t have a sweet tooth particularly but do like a sweet snack at around 2/3ish when energy levels crash, just realised I’ve not had one since I began! My downfall is savoury snacks but I’m trying to at least eat high ish protein ones rather than just carbs. Got back on the crisps at the weekend though which was annoying.

diggitydoo · 24/11/2025 17:29

Weird today I’m starving!

already eaten my calories today, just finished my dinner and still feel physically hungry!

don’t understand atall. My appetite has been all over the place this week

RoundandSad · 24/11/2025 21:34

Interesting to hear your updates

Hope the poster with the side effects is okay now

So after spending the whole weekend really really down, I perked up around 3 pm

But my appetite came back I Resisted some cake in the office but it was a near Miss

I hope it's not the case that as soon as I feel better, my appetite comes back but I am very relieved to feel better I felt like I was in a tunnel at the weekend.

If it’s ok to ask, those of you who’ve moved suppliers for pen 2 - who did you go with?

I moved for my 4th pen…. I’ve been with Medexpress, but got a great deal from lotus (£40 discount and free delivery) for a 7.5mg pen which was a lot better price overall.

service from both suppliers has been great though - would happily recommend either and share a code if anyone wants….

tobee · 24/11/2025 22:04

Was it straightforward to change supplier @putthehamsterbackinitscage ?

tobee · 24/11/2025 22:23

Sorry I'm forever asking questions

Springbaby2023 · 24/11/2025 22:39

@tobee I’ve just switched and it was super simple if you don’t mind doing all the photo etc again. You need to include a photo of your existing prescription this time.

tobee · 25/11/2025 00:36

Thanks @Springbaby2023

Sorry I've got another question for everyone!

When have people's pen suppliers contacted them about ordering their next pen?

tobee · 25/11/2025 00:38

tobee · 25/11/2025 00:36

Thanks @Springbaby2023

Sorry I've got another question for everyone!

When have people's pen suppliers contacted them about ordering their next pen?

I'm wondering because I'm still not sure if I'll want to go up to the next dose or not

tobee · 25/11/2025 00:41

Or do you contact them?

I should probably google this myself really

tobee · 25/11/2025 00:46

Looks like I have to contact them (pharmacy 2u) and do it 5 - 7 days beforehand

Springbaby2023 · 25/11/2025 06:07

Mine said I needed to let them know by the 23rd, which was less than two weeks after I started! So I contacted another supplier, and they have done the order but delayed dispatch until 1st December as they’ve said they can’t do it too close to my initial order due to prescription guidelines, works well for me as at least I know I’ve ordered it.

What I would say is don’t order until you’re sure what pen to go for - I ordered from pharmacy2u but then changed my mind before I’d filled out the consultation, asked them if I could change it to 5mg and they said no issues as the order isn’t technically placed until after consultation, but I’d lose the new starter discount code which is a bit silly. I should have been more patient and waited another week to decide but I was just conscious of not having a gap

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 25/11/2025 06:43

@tobee yes it was very simple to switch- I filled out their consultation that I was already taking Mounjaro and it seemed to ask less questions about pre existing conditions and other meds.

then I had to upload a full. Post photo taken in the last 30 days (I used same one I had for previous) plus photo of box proving 5mg dose from Medexpress as I was going up to 7.5 for this order.

i did this on Sunday and all processed and dispatched Monday.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 25/11/2025 06:44

Sorry you also asked about reordering - Medexpress allows you to reorder after 14 days and then starts sending reminders. Haven’t seen this for lotus yet…

SexyFrenchDepression · 25/11/2025 09:55

I'm so undecided about switching, I would love to save money but the only thing medexpress do price wise is referral discount, I feel like it would be a pain if I got refused etc. I have one pen in fridge as medexpress do fortnightly reorder so I may get next one with them and then try to move supplier. Obviously the only thing with that would be my original photos would be too old to use. Argh decisions.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 25/11/2025 09:58

It’s worth adding that as well as saving a bit of money, Lotus are clearer about their approach to maintenance.

i am pretty sure I will need to stay on some sort of dose longer term as I gave repeatedly lost weight then put more back on multiple times from my 20s through to my 50s - I can lose weight but just can’t keep it off as I go back to bad eating habits and snacking on chocolate etc

Burnnoticed · 25/11/2025 10:17

I switched as got a good discount with Numan but can't face switching every month - discounts have been clamped down on so much I doubt I can share with anyone (don't know RL people on this!) They offer £100 off so it's not like a small saving.

RoundandSad · 25/11/2025 11:43

I don't understand how people switch, especially if you're only just above the accepted BMI.

You'd have to go through the whole process again with a new provider and do you tell the truth? Do you say that you've been on it already? Or how does it work? I'm just sticking with mine as I say, I can't give the code because they are very clear it will give the recipient the name of the giver I suppose in reality they want people to put off using the codes so they pay full price

I was really hoping to only be on it three months for a kickstart. My price is only agreed for three months I think.

Burnnoticed · 25/11/2025 11:56

I would guess a lot of us are quite high above the minimum BMI! I've been fully honest, yes. They ask why you're switching and price is one of the options to tick.

They mostly accept people will switch - a lot have specific sections on their website about how to switch provider.

i answered honestly - current weight, previous prescriptions and it went straight through with uploading photos even though I am now below the BMI threshold as ordering my 4th pen and had lost 12lbs since starting.

I don’t intend to keep switching but i wanted to change this time to a provider who supports maintenance even down to a bmi of 22/23.

Flossyknicks · 25/11/2025 17:47

2nd jab today and 1st weigh in, 5lb 2oz down. Had quite a bit of wine still this weekend, I was hoping I’d stop wanting that too 🙈

I don’t think there’s anything duplicitous about switching , you need to demonstrate the previous prescription and the consultation is a bit less . I think they expect it now as it’s a competitive market .
My sister swapped at every increase to find a better deal .
I’m still on week 1 so not sure what I will do

JustBeach · 25/11/2025 18:42

I really don’t know if to go up to 5 or not! I have to decide by the end of the week and have just done jab 3 today. I’m having good losses and suppression on 2.5, with no side effects, but I’m worried about being stuck on 2.5 for 4 weeks if I need to go up!

tobee · 25/11/2025 19:07

I'm pretty much in the same situation @JustBeach . Although I'm finding I'm not satiated as quickly as before, I can eat more. But not interested in the likes of cakes, chocolate, bread, crisps or alcohol for example

I'm especially 🤔 because of Christmas. One minute I think I'll just get another 2.5 so I'm not too suppressed and/or experiencing bad side effects. And go for it in the New Year. But the next I think I don't want to be on 2.5 and feeling like I'm not getting suppressed appetite at Christmas and overdo it. Or feel I have to be good, rather than MJ sorting that for me.
