I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

I thought they had designed it so that you couldn't get the "golden dose" out any more

I don't really understand why it's called that because it's not a full dose

RoundandSad · 18/11/2025 21:43

Notice I was able to eat quite a big dinner today

It's weird the first few days you don't feel like eating anything so for me that's really only been Saturday Sunday, Monday and didn't eat much today until dinner

I could've had less I should definitely bear that in mind

There is still more medication in the pen but the plunger is designed to only do 4 full doses.

I’ve just used a syringe and got 0.8 out of a 2.5 pen so effectively 1.33333 x a standard 2.5mg dose and around 3.33333 mg.

so 4 x standard dose plus an extra slightly larger dose.

RoundandSad · 18/11/2025 22:18

I thought they only put in enough now so that you could do your priming, but nothing else

maybe it depends when your pen was made

TheHappyHedgehog · 18/11/2025 22:24

I have done my 4th jab. Wondering about trying to get the extra dose out to save money. What are the best syringes and needles to buy? Are there any idiot guides for what to do?

Burnnoticed · 18/11/2025 22:55

I've used a site called Medbasic; someone else must have recommended them to me on here.
(for syringes)

Thank you. Ordered.

1st weight in and 7lb down! Although more like 3lb as I think the rest was just water weight , and the 3 takes me back to where I was before I went on holiday. I’m so pleased with that! This week week I’m hoping to drop below my lowest weight in the last few years, need 2lb.

is anyone else worrying about going back to normal life after mounjaro ? I have been fortunate with side effects so far. My mental health is better, my sleep is better, I have more energy , dealing with stress better.. I didn’t realise how much my disordered eating was contributing to my physical health. I can’t slip back once I finish!

RoundandSad · 19/11/2025 10:01

7lb? I don't really understand these massive losses.
That's not 7lb in a week is it?

FASDE1517 · 19/11/2025 10:49

I've just done jab 4 and weighed in. Exactly one stone down in 3 weeks. This stuff is amazing. I need to look into how to get the golden extra jab out. I'm a bit nervous of that but it's so expensive I can't bear to waste any!

Me!! I want another two stone off but I'm already nervous about life after Mounjaro. I've really got to change some habits!

Initial water loss as your glycogen stores are depleted.

yes , I’ve just taken my 2nd dose. I’ve lost weight so many times on different diets over the years, and always have a big loss the first week (previously was 6lb highest). I know because going back years it’s all tracked on my fitness pal! Although the the big difference is how much easier it has been. It’s really been no effort at all for most the week, and very slight willpower on a couple of days. Next week will be a better representation of how it is going. My starting BMI was 28, and I was approved due to linked health issues, so I’m happy with 1 or 2 pounds a week. This is what I’ve managed on previous diets, the mounjaro is just making it so much easier.

Well, then the good news is I sm not retaining water

fancytoes · 19/11/2025 11:48

Take iron tablets! (From someone 6-months in!)

That is good! I seem to retain a lot, I can see and feel the difference when I eat healthily and drink more water. I was eating a lot of carbs and sugar before, but have eaten a really healthy balanced diet this last week.

NoNewClothes · 19/11/2025 12:10

For those thinking of post MJ life - get your healthy habits in first obviously but I would recommend looking in to intermittent fasting. It’s just not working for me with so much external stresses going on in my life currently, I’m a real comfort eater though I would say I do generally have good habits, need to work on alternatives to food for stress.

I’ll see if I can dig out a particular Gin Stephens podcast where one guest was in WLI first, lost a lot then found intermittent fasting.

here it is:

I’ve also started listening to the daily dose podcast - two Irish presenters on their MJ journey. I can really relate to Belinda. Paddy was on the UK’s biggest loser back in the day. Short version is he put it all back in plus some.

Love a podcast for housework, or getting daily steps & sunlight.

I’m also anticipating that in a few years there’ll be the newer version (can’t recall the name, CBATG) of these peptides, current will be out of patent & maintenance dosing will be more affordable.

Hi everyone - just wanted to share that I’ve been getting really down as I started 4 weeks ago and have lost no weight and felt nothing - was feeling very depressed… Then took my first 5mg last night. Just gone to eat my lunch (didn’t have breakfast) and just can’t do it. Don’t want it at all. Don’t feel ill, or sick, just absolutely do not want to eat. Hurrah!!!!!!!!

JustBeach · 19/11/2025 14:04

@bakingmad123that is great news! I’m so happy for you! That must have been a long 4 weeks with nothing happening. After how much we build ourselves up to get started, it must have felt really disheartening.

JustBeach · 19/11/2025 14:07

@NoNewClothesI used to love The Biggest Loser (although it used to make me hungry!) and I’ve been looking for a new podcast, so will try that - thank you.
I intermittent fasting is something I’ve done for a long time- OMAD mostly, although periods of 5.2. I credit it with my weight staying fairly stable (just too high!) and so will certainly build this into post Mounjaro life!

Absolutely, I was going to give up after the 5mg pen if nothing had happened, so I’m thrilled 🤣🤣🤣

A different question though now - I honestly cannot face food at all at the moment (yay), is it likely this will fade throughout the day and I’ll be able to eat dinner, or is it common to have a few days of not being able to eat each week - in which case, do you end up not feeling great for having no nutrition for a couple of days?

tobee · 19/11/2025 14:17

Everyone seems to respond so differently @bakingmad123! I've not had any days yet where I could not eat at all (day 9 here).

If I were you I might barge onto one of the threads like October 25 or any of the other month specific threads and ask people with longer experience.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 19/11/2025 14:39

@bakingmad123 I’m on the October 25 thread though I started at the end of the month and tend to read this one as well as most on there are ahead of me.

you’d be welcome there as well.

i found that after the 1st jab, i really noticed that I only had any suppression for 5 days so started going early with successive jabs with no real effects. I’ve did 5th Golden dose yesterday and got 0.8 ml out so effectively 3.33 mg dose and this time I’ve noticed more of a hit - I’m not hungry today, not eaten much - very much like days 2/3 of week 1. I’ve lost about 11lb in less than a month so am very happy with the result even if it didn’t feel like there was much impact on food and appetite.

Some colleagues at work are on it too - one says he didn’t get much effect till he went up to 7.5, the other has lost 2.5 stone in about 6 weeks, losing the 1st stone in less than 3 weeks.

everyone is different- you just need to go up till you find the dose that works best.

Flossyknicks · 19/11/2025 15:24

2nd day on the jab and I’ve only just started to feel like I should eat something! About to have a Gym Kitchen meal which has 29g of protein.
